Just went back to get a pound for a party treat and a plate for myself. Omggggg these are so good. One had a hint of rose, another a hint of mint - the way they create with flavor is uncanny. Like I've never had baklava this good! The cashier was super pleasant and patient, as we asked every question under the sun. Every selection there should be had at least once. Delicious and incredible. Knowledgeable staff made great recommendations! They do it by the pound, which I love because you can just load up a container and stop whenever. The best baklava in town, The worst service out of all their locations. I've never had an issue asking what has only pistachio or only cashew. I have a minor allergy to walnuts. Not terrible but not fun to eat a bunch of. Today's woman didn't speak and when asked answered all walnut all nuts When I clarified I am allergic to walnuts she cut me off and said "but you just bought walnuts". I said yes! For other people, what do you mean? Are the nuts you are sprinkling over my cashew baklava with walnuts? Yes or no? Arguing about questions is not great. I don't think she should be front of house. Walked past the Baklava Factory and saw the wide variety and I knew I had to go inside! Baklava Factory has 3 Los Angeles locations, all with traditional and contemporary takes on the baklava. It's $18/lb, so take your pick at basically everything! I got their traditional baklava pistachio and various walnut ones. The staff and service are top tier, they suggested some of their favorites (rolled baklava) and it's now my favorite too! I've been to this location a few times, but hadn't come in a while. The cashiers are always rude, but yesterday i came in to get a few pieces of baklava, why was she rushing me ??? when the place was empty's she seemed annoyed that i asked for two separate orders. As in two separate containers, she kept insisting i get one box. i said one was for someone else. The cashier wanted to pack them in the same container. Then to get to the register and why was 8 pieces of it 27 dollars. The price has increased dramatically. I am a huge fan of baklava although it's been hard to find some good traditional baklava in the valley and I have found it! We tried a couple things and ended up coming back in the same hour to get the traditional baklava and the chocolate baklava! We're definitely going to come back. They price it out by weight and they put it in a clear container. The first lady that helped us added pistachio green powder for decor which was nice and the other lady who helped us the 2nd time didn't add it in - curious to know if you have to ask for it next time. I mean, how can you not love Baklava?! This store has tons of different options ranging some with cashew, walnuts, pistachios, chocolate, one with shredded wheat on top and the list goes on! Since there were so many options, we were kindly given suggestions. I ended up getting a pound for about $19 (which includes tax). Looking at my picture, besides the original/most common squared baklava that I normally get; I loved the two upper left options, the plain baklava and the cookie like one (great crumble crust). ... the baklava can last up to two weeks (if you can make it that long!).
