Today, L Pain was especially good. I got the turkey sandwich with bacon. It was good. The service was especially good. Purchaser, a young pleasant man took great care of us. I love the ambiance as well.
5* Food 5* Ambiance 5* Service Perhaps my new favorite breakfast/lunch place in Encino. Katrina made out morning bright with her welcoming and personal charm. It appears as if the menu has been updated, keeping long time favorites and adding new breakfast and lunch options. The restaurant was clean and spotless, keeping the charm of Le Pain Quotidien, which never becomes outdated. We tried their new menu item, pistachio strawberry French toast. Made with brioche bread and topped with chantilly cream, the pistachio creates a crispy and delicious crust with a soft center. Absolutely decadent. The bread basket is always a homerun with the table hazelnut spread, apricot and berry jam. The croissants are buttery, flaky on the outside and soft on the inside. Their coffee also hits the spot! I love the cups as it is the perfect vessel for this comforting and welcoming restaurant.
Good vibes for a hangout and catch-up over lunch and coffee with others, but I wasn't a fan of one of the coffee 'specialty' drinks I got. The belgian mocha was ordered iced and with the milk changed to oat milk, but the drink was so disappointing for the price I paid at almost $8 for. If you want to order takeout or to-go, you order at the front counter and if you want to dine-in, you choose seats and wait for the server. The server was slow to come up and hand the menus and take our orders, and unfortunately the bakery items I wanted were out. Ultimately decided to do a drink to-go but since it tasted very disappointing (there was no blend of flavor with the 'coffee') I couldn't keep drinking it and left most of the drink untouched. Sadly it was a waste. I'm not sure if I'd come back after this but the food menu entrees at least look classy. - underground parking garage but it's 15 mins for $3?? so street parking would be better
Worthy of 5 stars and more! Food is so delicious that you second guess if it's really healthy but yup it is! Everything was fresh. Especially my warm grain bowl. It's a grain of goodness, kale , sweet potato , grilled chicken etc. It was amazing. A healthy and delicious bowl made to perfection The service was also great. Everyone was helpful and cheerful and just a good vibe. The place was spacious and trendy as well. I'm so happy that we went here for lunch. I think I'm going back here tomorrow.
I'm a little disappointed with my first visit here :/ the food and pastries looked so good, don't get me wrong. But unfortunately my breakfast sandwich had an undercooked egg. I don't mind yolk.. but I saw some raw egg white about halfway through. I tried to remove it and eat around it. Good thing I was paying attention. That immediately turned me off and I couldn't get myself to finish it. We asked our waiter for their recommendations on the pastries to try. He recommended the pear and pistachio crookie and the passion fruit tart. We saw the ad outside for the puff cream donut so we also added that in. The crookie wasn't warmed up at all. I could taste the notes of pistachio but nothing was special about it to me. Wasn't bad, but wouldn't order again. The passion fruit tart was out of this world! Bolstered with flavor and the perfect texture. The crust was just enough. I still think about it. The puff cream donut was a let down. It's not sweet. It is soft but just doesn't have anything really going for it. The cream is light which is nice. I think adding vanilla, honey, or fresh berries would really elevate it. Oh, forgot to mention, when we arrived we weren't greeted. So we just stood at the entrance for a few mins before finally asking a worker if we seat ourselves or what the deal was. lol.
Delicious little coffee, pastry shop with dond brunch options. I visited this place twice with two groups. I make my own espresso, and the espresso made here was comparatively strong. First time I had the pear cardamom frangipane croissant. The cream filling was amazing and a great pair with the substantial amount of pear layered inside. It was a better version of a fritter. Second time had a slice of pear gingerbread loaf. I would have preferred without icing or with cream cheese whip, but it was still a fantastic spice with decent chunks of pear in it. Both were better than what I could make and were reasonably priced for the quality of item. Other items in pictures include an omelette, a skillet breakfast, and assorted pastries. Service was quick and the spot was more "cute" than comfortable - it was nice for a meal but not nearly comfortable enough to be a coffee shop study spot.
Came here to wait out the rain after my doctor's appointment in the building. It was a perfect late breakfast. Everything was good, and the latte was exceptionally good today. Not my first time at Le Pain Quotidien and I've been to a few other locations. It's always a good experience coming here. The food is great, the quality is top notch, the service is always excellent, and the place is always a pleasant environment. They're doing things right here.
Service was very welcoming and attentive. Super sweet. Food came out in good time and it was so delicious. My first time trying something out of my habitual food range and it was good! & I loved the salad. The vibes in the place were cool too the music is chill. People seem to come here to get work done on their laptops or for a bite to eat & chat! Would bring a friend next time to enjoy the place.
LPQ is solid and the location of this one is easy in terms of parking (you can get validation at the underground garage with any purchase at LPQ or just park a few blocks again on the street). You cannot go wrong with their French Cream Donut!!! Not too sweet, very creamy, with an airy brioche-based dough. Their croissants look mid (although I am curious about their Crookies!) but I enjoyed my matcha and donut here so much that I am bumping my review up to a 5.
Le pain was right down the street from my hotel. Came in and ordered a latte, breakfast sandwich and a popular French cream donut. Service was friendly and pretty quick. The bacon, egg, &cheese on a Croissant was tasty, but I wasn't expecting a runny egg to drip all over the place. I would prefer scrambled. The French cream donut... yeah it was that good, and they even give you a few different jellies to add. My latte was great! Inside is definitely on the fancier side more typical LA I guess.
Found this little coffee/breakfast spot by accident. It hit everything I was looking for great coffee, great food, and a cute little atmosphere. We ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich with egg whites and a side of baguette. They have jams on the tables and they were pretty amazing. They service was also great and the waiters were very detailed on the menu. I would definitely recommend if you are in the area.
I have driven past Le Pain Quotidien many times and always been curious but have always been working and no time to stop. On Saturday I had a very long day at work which ended in Burbank area, so on my way home at approximately 4 or 5pm I decided to stop by Encino to grab something. I also saw that Le Pain Quotidien was on the TooGoodToGo app, so I placed an order for pickup. Parking was on the side streets near the shop, and I read elsewhere that there's also a nearby garage that you can get validated if you park in the garage. Upon entry I expected to smell a smell of fresh bread but I didn't smell anything except a nice clean scent, but of course it's the end of the day and probably they were winding down. When I entered the store I exclaimed "Ooooh this looks so good I want one of those!!!" when I saw the French Cream Donut and maybe I was so joyfully excited that this ended up included in my TooGoodToGo bag. I also ordered something else because everything looked so good. I must say, this is definitely a gem and I should have stopped by here a long time ago. I've been missing out. I dug into the French Cream Donut at home and I was so pleasantly surprised by how light and fluffy it was, but not too sweet or heavy, just perfect in every way; and just a gorgeous pastry. For breakfast the next morning I had the muffin, it was very soft and fluffy on the inside and a perfect breakfast item. I will definitely be returning to try more things and to get some fresh bread loaves!

Always good service here, and great food as well. Today I ordered a croissant and mocha since I arrived to an appointment early and had some time to spare. I usually order an avocado tartine and a lemon honey ginger tea or oatmeal but I switched things up this morning. I was not disappointed, I enjoyed my pastry and hot mocha :) They have outdoor seating overlooking Ventura boulevard, perfect for people-watching. It's located in the same building complex of UCLA Health Encino- convenient for anyone that has to wait between appointments. read more
STEPH JUDGEMENT: Great huge patio with nice service and food. I'd only ever been to the Culver City location and had no idea I'd run into one in this area, but I'm so glad I did! I had to kill some time and wasn't very hungry, but couldn't resist their French cream donut--a heavenly confection with cloud-like cream filling. Accompanied with a rich Americano with cream, it was perfection. I pleasantly whiled away a perfect late morning hour here and would do it again in a heartbeat! read more
Stopped by here for lunch twice in the past week, once for a little bevy and another for lunch. I was kinda disappointment with the drink I got because it literally tasted just like milk with a hint of cinnamon, compared to the other drinks we got it. There was a redemption with their food which was surprisingly very yummy. They also offer some bread which I thought was a nice touch. They have both indoor and outdoor seating where they take your order. I also like their pastries, very fresh and delicious. read more

Since I dine out for dinner most nights and on one of the two weekend days for brunch, I have definite preferences where I decide to enjoy meals. This is a post praising LE PAIN QUOTIDIEN in Encino, my new regular favorite although before Covid-19, I was dining regularly on weekends at their Studio City store until I discovered this location which I personally enjoy a lot more. Dining inside is my preference although the outside patio dining is wonderful (unless it is too cold or windy!) Here is what impresses me about this location: Wonderful food choices. Everything I have tried is very good and the dishes, especially the ones listed as "new item", always show a spark of creativity that I more often than not will try at least once, although I do have a few favorites to which I will always return. Today's "new item" was French Toast with fresh blueberries and diced cinnamon apples, whipped cream on top and maple syrup served on the side. First time trying this and it was excellent! The brioche was better than the regular bread used at other restaurant where I have ordered French Toast. And the fresh-brewed coffee is wonderful. Aside from the food, the restaurant is very professionally run which I can chalk up to excellent Management. The General Manager and assistant GM's should be given a lot credit for hiring and training their servers all of whom seem to have the skills to please the guests with their knowledge of the menu, especially the new items. And I often like to ask my server for "guest feedback" if I am thinking about trying something new and I trust their honesty. The servers are always present to ask whether the food is tasty and whether there may be interest for a coffee refill. And for me, there always is. Le Pain Quotidien is a bit more upscale and the prices reflect that. But I feel they offer good value and the ambiance here is very relaxing. Tables are not filled with guests using their laptops or talking loudly on cellphones. At least I have not experienced these behaviors! And they have a separate take-out section for fresh baked breads, Danish and cookies which is always a treat. The new Linzer cookie is superb. Here is a photo of the French Toast. My go-to dishes are the mini-Dutch Pancakes and their omelets. Will post another photo next weekend when I plan another visit. read more
I have been to Le Pain's other locations too. They all have great menu options and good tasting food. I love the fact that they don't bring the coffee in a mug/ cup. They bring the coffee in a bowl which makes it more enjoyable and funny at the same time. Service is always great. Staff are really nice and check on the customers. They answer all the menu questions. If you asked them their opinion, they always give honest opinion about what items you might like or don't. They don't try to sel the most expensive item on the menu. There is plenty of seating area. Both inside and out side. People can order coffee or food to go too. read more
A decent bakery cafe off of the busy Ventura Blvd. It's located in the same plaza as UCLA Health Encino. Street parking or plaza parking, which they validate. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. 1. French Cream Donut (4/5) The dough was airy and light and the cream is like whipped butter. If you are a butter lover, you'll love it. I like that it's not too sweet. Worth a try as it's definitely unique and not found in your everyday American bakery. 2. Coffee Hazelnut Noisella Crookie (5/5) It doesn't look appetizing, but if you like croissants and cookies, this is like the 2 married and merged into 1. You have the crispy consistency of the croissant and the chewy consistency of the cookie. When toasted and warmed, the chocolate and hazelnut/nutella filling melts delightfully into a delicate lava. The manager, Matt, deserves to be fired. I paid for a side salad and he was refusing to give it to me claiming it doesn't come with an online order. He finally agreed but proceeded to give me frozen dressing. When I showed him the dressing, he gave me attitude and told me the dress was fine and I had to wait for it to thaw out. He then disparate for 10 mins as I waited for dressing that was not frozen. read more

This Le Pain branch is located on Ventura Blvd in a front-facing unit of a medical center. They have a sizable patio for outdoor dining. The indoor dining area is also decent-sized. If you eat here, it has to be full on dine-in: you sit, server takes your order, you get your order, and then you pay. They do have a counter just inside the front door if you want to grab some bread and take it to go, which we've done several times in the past. I just wanted some coffee and a toast and enjoy it sitting down but I guess I had to do the whole dine-in method for it. I was offered several different kinds of bread for my toast and I went with the plainest - baguette. There were different spreads as well butter available. The iced latte is strong and delicious. I was ably to order a loaf of bread to take home on the same table/bill too. Staff are fast, calm, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Metered Parking is available in the surrounding streets. There is also underground parking in the same building Le Pain is located at. I know the clinics offer validation; I'm not sure if Le Pain does. read more

A delightful recommendation from a friend who lives nearby. We dined on the patio as it was a pleasant day. With fantastic service and not being rushed at all, both adding an extra level of enjoyment to our afternoon. Inquiring about some menu options, our server steered me toward the breakfast sandwich. It was as described, as flavorful as he stated it would be, and served beautifully. Only drawback....even with egg over medium, it was very messy. This dining experience had that outdoor European feel, even though we were right on busy Ventura Blvd. For a Saturday, I found street parking to be quite easy. There is a parking lot underground and they validate. read more

This review is solely based on the pastries I've tried. I've been looking forward to trying the pastries here, decided to try the mini carrot cake, pain au chocolat and pistachio pinwheel. Carrot cake is my go to dessert bread, I was shocked at how overly sweet the frosting was. To be honest it felt inedible, took it off and just enjoyed the actual carrot cake. Very balanced without the frosting (6/10). The pain au chocolat had a delicious dark chocolate filling. I was disappointed with the actual croissant like dough, wasn't really flaky at all and had a chewier bite to it. The cross section showed very little folds inside. The dark chocolate carried this to be honest (7/10). Finally, I was looking forward to the pistachio pinwheel but had to take some pistachios off due to being burnt. The inside had a pistachio butter like filling which was a little overwhelming and a little grainy (6/10). Overall, I was a little disappointed but it was a fun experience. Flavors need to be balanced a little more but to each their own. Would be interested in coming back to trying their brunch items. read more
