Found this rooftop on a whim when in the area. This rooftop is located in the Marmara hotel. I went up and there wasn't much ppl. I spoke to the bartender who said they were open and I was able to take a seat outside. Both the bartender and the waitress were kind and helpful. The drinks were really good! Midtown to drop prices for sure. The old fashion was smooth and a little sweet. The midnight martini (it had another name) was delicious and cute. I only tried the guac which I thought wasn't the best. It was missing more lemon or flavor in my opinion. Can't speak for other apps. If I came back I would try the Burrata. The view, ugh gorgeous! MANHATTAN: a dog friendly rooftop bar? Yes please! Open seasonally, The Blue Rooftop is over 20 stories up with panoramic views of the NYC skyline! Leashed dogs are allowed and you can sip on a signature cocktail and order from their nice food menu.mmIt's a small outdoor lounge-y space with comfortable couches and some table seating. We were able to make it on one of their last days of the season and had the place to ourselves. The staff is cool and attentive too! Since the bar is outside, they are now closed for the season, but follow them on social media for updates. An intimate rooftop! It's definitely not your typical commercial rooftop in NYC. It feels very much like a rooftop of an apartment building (which it is). It's small but I enjoyed my time there. Food and drinks were really great. On the more expensive side but the building rents apartments for $11k so that makes sense ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ regardless I wasn't mad that the Burrata was $21 because it was yummy! read more

Happy hour for $10 cocktails which is good for rooftop prices but everything else was mehhhhh. Good deal and views were nice but atmosphere was just meh. The rooftop is tiny so not a great place for standing while drinking. There's literally no room for that. You have to basically sit at a table for two on the side. Max 4 unless you get the plush chairs in front of the bar area. Service was meh too because of the layout of the rooftop. It get's narrow on the side and it just feels disconnected from everything else. read more

This place has great rooftop views. You aren't high above all the nearby buildings, but you're also not below -- you're right in the middle. It creates a beautiful effect where you feel like you're floating in a sea of lit windows. In terms of seating, it is a bit limited, and when we were there, there was a party that had reserved a bunch of the couches. We were relegated to the narrow side passageway, which was a squeeze for the six of us. The music was solid -- good rooftop vibes. In terms of the drinks, I personally didn't care for my cocktail all that much, but the guy gave me triple pour of cognac and undercharged us, so who am I to complain? read more

You are paying for the view, which to be fair is AMAZING. I ordered a $25 burger (extremely pricey) and asked for it medium rare with mozzarella cheese. it came well done with a single slice of kraft (?) american cheese. i also had a $10 can of beer. with tip, that's $42 for a very lackluster burger experience. we were also just about the only people on the roofdeck, yet our food took upwards of 45 min to arrive. If you want an incredible view of Manhattan, this will get you that, but man i will never come back here sorry! Oh also! They asked me for a credit card before the meal to open a tab, then closed out the tab and added 20% gratuity without communicating any of that to me, then instructed me to go downstairs for my receipt, at which point the (maskless) bartenders gave me the closed out rcpt and said I was good to go. The whole thing was weird, and non-communicative. I will say, the bartender/server on the rooftop was very friendly. But yeah the nonsense with the check....very unusual. They said "oh we don't have a printer up here" and I'm thinking...maybe with all the $25 hamburgers you can afford another printer. The final detail is there is only ONE one person bathroom, in the lobby area of the hotel, and in order to use it you have to go down 20 floors. All the other bathrooms are out of service. I feel bad for the people who work here...seems like a poorly managed establishment. The owners are clearly raking in the $ and not putting it back into the business. One night when I was feeling blue, my friend, Laila invited me to go check out this place w her (lol! How fitting is the name though?!) She told me they have ample of vegetarian options and are super accommodating. The vibe was super chill! We had gotten lucky and had the PERFECT weather for this rooftop occasion. Staff was super friendly too. Since I rarely drink, the bartender made me a mocktail which was super refreshing! Pomegranate guacamole was well balanced w perfect ingredients fitting for all tastebuds (you had the avocado -- savory taste and sweet tangy taste of the pomegranate) hummus and babaganush were great too! I would like to see some vegetarian tacos on their menu in the future! I definitely went home feeling good and with beautiful memories embedded in my heart thanks to this place. read more

I was hesitant to post this review because this is truly a gem and I wanted to keep it a secret as long as possible ;), but I had to share! The Blue Rooftop has gorgeous views, decor, and delicious drinks. There's a happy hour EVERY DAY from 5-7 pm $10 wine and cocktails. I'm sipping on a crisp, light Turkish wine and contemplating trying the apricot margarita. There's two levels: a roof on the 20th floor and the penthouse (that actually looks like someone's beautiful home). The place is spotless and you feel like you're in paradise floating in NYC in midtown east. I have lived in the city for about a dozen years, and have been going out at least once a week to eat on average. I've been to a lot of restaurants. This place takes the cake. Worst. Restaurant. In. The. City. It's almost breathtaking how bad it is. It's such a shame because it has so much potential. You walk in and the lobby of the hotel it's on top of is gorgeous. You take the elevator to the roof and the view is sublime. There are not too many places where you get a close view of both the Empire and the Chrysler all in one sight line. Then they bring out the menu, and it's pricey, which in itself is fine, I mean, I get it that you are paying for the view. Where it really goes downhill is what they serve you for those prices. 1st, we ordered Watermelon pizza. Sounds interesting, huh? Nope. 3 slices of watermelon, with berries on top. $15. Shrimp Ceviche $21. Small cup with 4 pieces of shrimp, watery mushed tomatoes, and I kid you not, I wish I took a picture of it, some stale, crumpled Carr's table water crackers. Finally, the Labne (their spelling). A nice, Mediterranean yogurt, sprinkled with mint. Light, creamy. Not bad, but again, served with stale, soggy pita chips! When you order a beer, it's brought out in a can for you to pour into your plastic glass.  Service was meh, not attentive, not terrible.  Such a shame that they paid all this attention to the way everything looked, they completely overlooked any semblance of  taste. read more

I was in town for a few days on a business trip. While searching for a place for an after dinner drink, I came across The Blue Rooftop. The view was spectacular. We sat on the side in a secluded area. It wasn't busy as it was a Tuesday night. The waiter was attentive without being intrusive. He checked around the corner often enough to see if our drinks were full, but didn't engage unless we were getting low. He answered some questions about the establishment, told us about where he was from when we asked, etc. He was very polite and offered suggestions when we asked which of 2 drinks he preferred. He even took our photo. It was only a 2 night trip, but I'd definitely go again on my next visit. read more

Don't waste your time or money here. The service here was absolute trash. They took 30 minutes to get me an old fashioned then forgot to bring the second. In addition to the above they billed me at full price for the drinks even though they were ordered during the happy hour time frame. It took them so long to get me the bill I didn't even bother having them correct it. During the time I was there there were only 20 other customers and 4 staff. This is absurd. read more

I came here with friends for a celebration just for some good food and drinks of course. We decided to do just a bunch of appetizers. I have to say the food was delicious. We had the shrimp tacos, Bruschetta, Shrimp Ceviche and yogurt dip. The drinks were a bit more pricey than usual. The location is very small which I wasn't expecting the online pictures made it look bigger, but they do offer outdoor seating which is a bit more spacious on the 19th floor. My server David is attentive and knowledgeable. The gentleman checked on us and when we were leaving he handed out a business card with complimentary meze stamp on it for our next time to try. We were a bit suspicious about this place because of some of the reviews about slow service, difficult to find, etc---but were pleasantly surprised! The rooftop was virtually empty and we sat with views of the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. The servers were in no hurry to wait on us, but we were in no hurry to leave "our" rooftop either. The drinks were great and the apps were pretty tasty too-- shrimp tacos, guacamole, and bruschetta. Blue Rooftop is located on the roof of the Mamara Park Avenue hotel. First off, I only came here because I happened to be staying at the hotel and it was easier to expense dinner on the room than dine somewhere off-site. I went on a Monday evening so it was fairly empty which I was happy with because I got a table with both views of the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building. The prices are on par with standard NYC rooftops -- $17-20 drinks, $15-20 appetizers. The food menu is limited, most of the dishes are standard cold 'Mediterranean' appetizers, I would've liked a more extensive menu. The biggest downfall here though is the service...it was unfortunately, god awful. For starters, there was initially only 1 person working which was fine because it was empty but he was miserable. I asked him for recommendations on cocktails based off my preferences and he was little to no help, he pretty much was like 'I don't know, just order what you think sounds good'. I got a rum based cocktail (forgot the name) and it was pretty unmemorable. My sister also got a cocktail that she found to be way too sweet so we switched over to wine, which was a much safer bet. To make things worse, Happy Hour was allegedly going on but we received no notification about it and I had to ask him after figuring out they had specials running 2 rounds of drinks in. For food, we had the mezze trio and guacamole. Everything was tasty and the presentation was nice. The mezze trio came with pita chips which they provided a small handful of with way too much dip. When I asked for more pita, the waitress looked at me like I asked her to comp my meal...I told her I'd pay extra if necessary and she came back with tortilla chips that I watched her fill with her hands directly from the bag behind the bar. Overall, I would not go back. Nice views and decent appetizers doesn't compensate for the lack luster cocktails, prices and downright horrible service. I spent $170 between 2 people, which was fine because we intended to have a more expensive dinner but when you're getting better service buying a happy meal at McDonald's there's an issue with staffing. read more

Saw the reviews for this place today while looking for a rooftop to bring my brother who was visiting from CA. The place has nice views and good amount of seating but due to recently opening the service was extremely fucking slow, definitely understaffed. Lovely setting and views, but tables for two only. Parties of three or more are consigned to a couch and coffee table. Drinks are horrific and expensive ($20). The service is worse. We intended to have dinner (Mediterranean small plates), but the small staff were overwhelmed just with our drink orders. Neighboring table had to ask several times for their check. It was clear that with less than 5 tables the staff were overwhelmed, so we got out of Dodge as quickly as possible - getting the check required several requests - and hightailed it out before ordering dinner. This is by far the best new rooftop in the city. The view is absolutely spectacular. I came with some friends after work for happy hour and had a great time. The Mediterranean themed cocktails were very unique and all tasted really good. My favorites were the apricot margarita and the cucumber cooler. All of the servers and bartenders were very friendly and attentive. There even was a DJ playing live music which added a really great vibe. I will definitely be recommending this place to all of my friends! read more
