I was TOLD by Aetna Rockville Centre Pharmacy IS in-network. The Aetna rep told me he'd never heard of a pharmacy in their network denying a member a vaccination. I'm thinking when I can speak to the owner, Howard. I'll see what happened. If they really don't provide this I will tell Aetna they should be REMOVED from the network.

Called it into Rite Aid while I was there. Printed out goodex coupons for it and I was out of the office by about 5:30 to take the pup home. Around 8:30 I went over to pick it up. They asked the info and I gave it to them and then they said no one ever called it in. I assured them I watched them and they again said no one called it in and then kinda acted as if it was all over. I explained this is a life and death situation and that they did indeed call it in because I was there. The younger woman said she checked at 6 and there was no message. Again, I was long gone from the vet by then and it was absolutely called in. After a bit of back and forth they informed me they are out of stock anyway. Then informs me that they have it Brooklyn if I can make it. Assuming this guy has ever left the block rite aid is on he must know very well I wasn't making it. I emailed my vet and she called me immediately and said she had a few at the office and could give me some until we had a new plan. She also informed me that the call on her log was way before 6:00 and that the secretary logged it at 6:02 and that's done later at the end of the day with other calls. I race to Huntington when the same man calls and says he found the generic pills if i could make it back in time. The place closes in 10 minutes.... I'm almost in Huntington driving 80mph. I tell him I'm calling my wife who is nearby and he again says "as long as she is here by 9" insinuating that, despite this all being the fault of the two of them, he wasn't waiting. My wife thankfully made it. The sheer awfulness, dishonesty, lack of compassion and sympathy shown by these two was astounding. To look a guy in the face who is there only to try to save his dogs life and call him liar essentially over a phone in order time because they clearly didn't check is abhorrent. I can't even fathom the poor people who come in with emergencies for people. I couldn't have envisioned being treated like that at a pharmacy. I can't imagine how these two "people" are trusted with the health of other living things. I'm absolutely sickened by the experience I had there. I'd say do better but I don't think they are able to and doubt they would care to if they could. When I checked my patient portal, only two appeared to be available at this CVS location. Unfortunately, this has become a recurring issue, as this pharmacy frequently seems to be out of stock of commonly prescribed medications. After leaving my doctor's office, I transferred my prescriptions to another CVS location because I wanted to ensure all three could be filled together. Shortly afterward, I received a call back from a gentleman at the Rockville Centre CVS who informed me that although two prescriptions had been canceled, he was able to retrieve them and told me to come to the store to have them filled. I confirmed the address with him and drove there. Upon arrival, I approached the pharmacy counter and provided my information to a young woman working there. She briefly checked and immediately told me, "We don't have anything for you." I explained that someone from that very pharmacy had called me and instructed me to come in because my prescriptions could be filled. She checked again and simply stated there was nothing they could do. She then walked away while I was still speaking. What was most upsetting was not the prescription issue itself, but the complete lack of customer service. At no point did she attempt to investigate what had happened, contact another CVS location, locate where my prescriptions may have been transferred, or offer any explanation. Her tone was dismissive, short, and rude. I felt as though she simply wanted me to leave. A pharmacist who appeared from behind the counter ignored my concerns entirely and began assisting another customer when I questioned the way I was being spoken to. When I requested a manager's name or ownership information, I was told to "go online and call corporate." I then went to the front store manager for assistance. He walked back to the pharmacy with me and requested information on my behalf. At that point, Pharmacist Umar reportedly shouted from across the pharmacy, "That's all we have. Tell her to call corporate. We're not giving her any information." I was shocked by the lack of professionalism. I felt dismissed, misunderstood, disrespected, and treated as though my concerns did not matter. To make matters worse, while I was standing there, I overheard the same employee offering another customer assistance with transferring prescriptions to their location. When I asked why that same courtesy wasn't extended to me, I received no meaningful response. After leaving upset and confused, I visited another CVS location. The staff there quickly located my prescription, explained what had happened, transferred it appropriately, and filled it without issue. The entire situation could have been resolved in minutes had someone at the Rockville Centre location been willing to listen and help. No customer should be treated this way when trying to obtain prescribed medication. I expect better communication, professionalism, and basic courtesy from a pharmacy entrusted with people's healthcare needs.

For five days, they failed to refill a standing prescription for one of my brother's seizure medications. This is not a casual medication. It is one of four preventative drugs that keep him alive. Without it, he seizes. And when he seizes, he does not just get up and carry on with his day like some individuals with epilepsy might. My brother stops breathing. He needs a rescue medication administered immediately, or he will die. The last time his rescue medication was not available, my brother had a seizure that led to a stroke from lack of oxygen. They knew this history. They knew the urgency. And still, they failed him, disgustingly. Today, after five days of waiting on Walgreens to fulfill their basic obligation, he had another horrific seizure. This is not a clerical error. This is not a fluke. This is systematic disregard for human life. Walgreens, you have fcked around with the wrong family's safety. You treated this prescription as if it were optional, as if my brother's life didn't matter. He could have died. This pharmacy chain has proven they are not capable of handling critical prescriptions. No sense of urgency. No empathy. No accountability. You are playing with people's lives and then hiding behind red tape. Do better. Be better. Stop treating vulnerable people like they are disposable.
