Bihun Ayam Jakarta (Noodle)
Andrew P.

Had a solid dinner experience here on a Monday night with a friend of mine. I found this place to be on the pricier side, but what isn't anymore? Downtown rent in Miami I can only imagine is expensive. We ordered three plates which included the Ikan Pesmol/Balado, the Nasi Goreng Special, and Bihum Ayam Jakarta. All of them very different but very tasty and fresh in all aspects. We also got a miso soup that came with one of the main plates which was yummy. I think our server was a bit shy and could've been a bit more interactive and attentive overall, but she was nice nonethless. We the tax and tip, it was $100.

Came for lunch yesterday and had the Lontong Cap Gomeh, which is a tasty combination of chicken curry, rendang, steamed vegetables, and small pieces of rice cake topped with garlic crackers (aka shrimp chips). It was as delicious as always!! Another coworker, who also had it, enjoyed it as well. My other 5 coworkers had the Nasi Goreng Special, which offers special fried rice, opor ayam, rendang, steamed vegetables, pickled carrot and cucumber, and garlic crackers. Everyone loved their food and the waitress kindly allowed us to get separate checks, which made everything so much easier. They take credit cards so don't worry about getting cash before you go!

Amazing! I got there when they opened and was seated right away. The server was kind and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is pretty small and elaborately decorated. Its a casual spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the bento box and every single item on there was delicious! I really loved the beef and the chicken curry. Its was a nice way to try various items, especially since it was my first time trying Indonesian food. I really want to come back and try their Soda Gembira and sushi! This is a TRUE hidden gem.

Fantastic little spot! Food was very flavorful, great serving sizes, great presentation, and good service as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great spot for group lunch or dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Bali cafe was on my list of Asian restaurants to try. It's been very hard to find what I like. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My friend and I came after a yoga class needing a much deserved meal and they sat us in the fun little booths up front.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wanted the Indonesian food specifically but they have a lot of other different Asian dishes on the menu. I ordered the rengdang sapi set that came with a miso soup and I loveeeed the coconut sauce in the beef. I never had it before but I know the sauce was gonna be fire. The beef was shreddy (think of it like pulled pork) so there was a lot of yummy flavor infused into it. It came with rice and some veggies. It was a pretty good portion for me. The miso soup was ok but I would love if they offer a more Indonesian type style soup instead to go with the set. I also got the Jasmine tea (unsweetened) but I think it was quite watered down and I didn't taste much of the Jasmine flavor. Overall, I'd love to go back and try the other things on the menu. :)

Food (5/5): Amazing food and definitely authentic Indonesian. We came here a couple of times during our trip to Miami because the food is that good. I'm Indonesian and so was a friend that joined us, we both liked it. My fiancee was also a huge fan. We ordered the opor ayam, nasi goreng special, ikan balado, soto Betawi, gado gado, and rendang. Except the soto Betawi all of the dishes were amazing. The rendang was tender and flavorful, the ikan balado had really well made fish with great sauce. The only issue was the soto Betawi being too salty but that might've been because we got the last of the batch. Besides that absolutely amazing and even better than some restaurants in actual Indonesia. Service (5/5): Awesome and super friendly service. I was able to speak Indonesian to the servers and they had a great attitude. The food came out fast and we really enjoyed the experience. We noticed that some people wanted to order Japanese food but the Japanese chef was out of town. We only wanted the Indonesian food so this was not a problem for us. Ambiance (5/5): [[HIGHLIGHT]]Chill vibe with authentic Indonesian decor. Lots of culture and displays available highlighting our culture.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also good amount of seating indoor and outdoor available with decent amount of space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

First time having indonesian food in awhile! This place is a mom and pop hole in the wall shop that exceeded my expectations. I forgot the names that my friend and I ordered but it was the specialty dishes. The service was quick, easy, friendly, and the vibe was super casual which I liked. Definitely going to come here or get takeout next time i'm in miami.

Nasi Rames
Ellie N.

5/5: nasi rames. The rice and all the toppings are out of this world. The salted egg added a nice fragrance. 4.5/5: laksa. It's lighter than Singaporean style laksa. 3/5: bihun basko kuah. The meatball is just flour, it doesn't taste like 100% meat. The location is super convenient . It's a tiny shop but very clean inside.

There are some meals that you go back to thinking about long after the experience, and this is one of mine! Bali Cafe is unassuming and tucked away into Downtown Miami, but an absolute gem of a find. The interior is cozy and casual, and being there feels like a warm hug. The food is transformative: comforting yet complex, and an incredible variety of dishes that are all actual knockout hits. I would HIGHLY recommend doing the Rijstattel Indonesian feast: $35.99 each for a minimum of two people, and a lovely way to try as many things as possible from this place for an insane value. We got to sample everything from yummy soup, salad, lumpia and siumai starters to fish, chicken, and beef mains. Every single thing we tried blew my mind. If I absolutely had to pick, my favorite selections were the Asian salad, Beef Rendang, and Ikan Goreng. A million percent worth visiting and I plan on returning many times!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This hidden gem is a cozy Indonesian restaurant located in downtown Miami.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The server was exceptionally friendly; since I am Indonesian, we started chatting in Bahasa Indonesia, which created a warm atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious-- we ordered classic dishes such as gado-gado, Nasi Remes with a variety of flavorful condiments, and a tender, savory ayam. Every dish was expertly prepared and full of authentic flavors. Thank you to Sita and her team for a wonderful dining experience!

Rendang

It's been quite a while since we've eaten here and it's as good as ever. It's a bit cramped, but that also means people like it! My husband had the rendang which came with a small bowl miso. It's shredded beef with steamed rice and other stuff. I had the Bihun Ayam Jakarta. This is abol of steamed rice noodle with shredded chicken and mushrooms, 2 quail eggs, and a side bowl of broth and 2 small meatballs. Both were fresh and very tasty. We're glad we revisited.

Had a pleasant dinner at Bali Cafe! I read all the good reviews and was intrigued enough to go all the way downtown to try it. It's right next to the Metromover station, which made it very convenient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside is small, but full of character.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress is very welcoming and attentive, the food was amazing. The best salad I've ever had, and the Ayam Bumbu Kecap was delicious as well. Can't wait to come back and try other things on the menu.

This family-run restaurant fights for my favorite spot to eat in all of Miami. You are treated so kindly, the ambience is so comfortable, and the food never misses. I have visited several times before making a review, and everything I have tried has been absolutely delicious. The flavors are complex and warm and appeal to a variety of Asian tastes. I recommend asking for their homemade chili sauces on the side and the "soda gembira" (happy soda) is a treat for a sweet tooth. For the fish - ask for the mixture of the two sauces!!! One aromatic, one with a kick. Bali Cafe is one of those places I'll bring family, I'll bring new friends who visit, I'll keep coming again and again.

But truly, it's that kind of excitement and life that allows a place like KYU to thrive. People want to be where the action is, and in terms of food - this is there the action is. We had the Chef's Special, and every single serving that was brought to us was a 5/5 experience! Our waitress was attentive and personal, without any sense of lingering or hovering at all. The staff did a good job of dealing with some of the rowdier patrons, and it was clear that this was not the norm, but some people looking for trouble with a bit too much of something in their system. The perfect start to the night. Bree took over once our table was ready and everything just flowed. Attentive, warm, and completely on top of it without ever missing a beat. And the food... every single dish felt like an experience and somehow better than the last!!! I genuinely couldn't pick a favorite. Even the krunchy kale had personality (which says a lot). The branzino, steak tartare, Korean fried chicken, octopus, mussels... I'm still thinking about all of it. Kim, the manager, was consistently checking in and making sure everything was perfect, and that level of attention to detail made the entire night feel elevated. We were really taken care of and my experience at Kyu ended with me in bed ready to sleep and a huge smile on my face. And left overs for tomorrow. I couldn't ask for anything more!

The food and drinks are consistently amazing. I've been coming here since they first opened (I believe back in 2014), and I'll keep coming back. Their menu is packed with bold, flavorful dishes, an impressive cocktail selection, and honestly, they were one of the places that got me through COVID! From the pizzas to the entrées, everything is outstanding. I celebrated my birthday here just last week, and as always, it was excellent. The churrasco is consistently tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The mushroom risotto is rich, creamy, and bursting with earthy mushroom goodness. For dessert, we shared the warm banana bread with salted caramel ice cream, and wow... I still can't stop thinking about it. Whether it's happy hour, lunch, dinner, or a special occasion, Finka never ever ever disappoints. After all these years, it's still one of my favorite spots in Miami, and I recommend it to everyone looking for a memorable lunch, dinner or happy hour, do it right and come to Finka.

He was always available but not hovering. Water was plentiful and didn't have to ask for it. We were there around 6:30 on. Wednesday. We wanted a quieter spot and the hostess was great about finding us one. And it was a bit noisy. There was a large group of "fratboy" types making way too much noise at the bar. So we appreciated the hostess getting us a table far from them. I do have one small critique about the lighting. We were in a row of tables that had NOT ONE OVERHEAD LIGHT. AND the lights that were overhead about 10 feet on either side of the table were on very dim. We had to use our phone lights to read the menu. But I will return and refer others.

What surprised me was the excellent service, from start to finish. I arrived early and had a drink at the bar, served by a gorgeous, knowledgeable and polite bartender. As it was early, I probably paid attention to the others at the bar more than I would normally, and it was a very colorful, diverse mix. Beautiful people dressed to the nines, a few couples and a few who were obviously tourists. Great start! The highlights included the dumplings, truffle fries and Snapper. I am a French fry purist, but these changed my mind! I would skip the tuna with caviar over rice appetizer. This one hurt as it was highly recommended by our server. The proportion is just wrong. The mushrooms as a main side were also rather pedestrian. I know we had multiple desserts, but I can't remember them. A big plus for me is that we were rooftop, but it is fully enclosed. Smart and perfect for Miami's unpredictable weather. Since it's clear, you won't miss a thing.
