What you need to know: Free tastings! What else you need to know: dog friendly, and BYOF! Yes, bring your own food! We love wineries who allow you to bring your own food! Also, there are two nice sized outdoor seating areas. One area is an attached covered patio, the other area are nice sized picnic tables with umbrellas next to one of their vineyards. Balic is a small winery in the Coastal Plain AVA region. The owners were offering the tastings today. Lovely people! They were willing to talk about their wines with great pride! They have dry reds and whites, fruit wines, Demi sec wines, an aperitif, and sparkling wines. Something for everyone! Be sure to ask about their Alex the Great wine and their signature wine Red Velvet. L

    Amazing wine!!

I absolutely love the fact that their wine tasting is free because it helps when I left with a case of wine. I didn't taste any bad wines. They offer a large variety of flavors and each one has its own personality and flavor. The tasting room is always nice and clean and you learn a lot from the friendly owner. Bo is very knowledgeable and passionate about his wines. I love the outdoor area to relax and enjoy their tasty wines! Check it out!! You will be pleasantly surprised!

Loved our visit to Balic Winery! I'm not much of a drinker, but I love Balic wine. They have a large variety including many different fruity wines. My favorites are the huckleberry, pomegranate, pumpkin, and cranberry. They are so tastey, tart, and healthy too! They have a little pamphlets that explain the health benefits of each of their wines. They also have more traditional wines for the average wine drinker, so they are great for groups as well. We started off up front with their daily free wine tasting and then we enjoyed a bottle outside with some snacks. I love how they encourage you to bring your own food and they even offer recommendations for local spots that deliver. We took a walk around the winery and it's so peaceful and private. It's not too far from Atlantic City, so you can visit both if you're passing the area. They have a discount if you buy 12 bottles. Make sure to take some bottles to go as well!

Very nice place that I came across while driving. The owner was super customer service oriented and shared the story of house this winery came to be. He was very engaging and explained all the different wines that they make. The outdoors are very well kept and it's a nice place to come spend a few hours with great company and a nice bottle(s) of this amazing wine. Affordable prices, great taste, good service, I recommend.

    Bring your own food :)

Do they serve cheese for the wine or can I bring my own?

Hi Andrea, We are a BYOF (Bring Your Own Food) winery. You are welcome to bring your favorite snacks and food to enjoy. We no not sell cheese or food. Thanks for checking, we have a beautiful outdoor seating terrace over looking the winery as…

White Horse is located about an hour from Philadelphia. The property is beautiful, the staff laid back & friendly. We sampled two flights, three tastes in each. Some selections didn't send me (like Albarino and Merlot.). I loved the Cab Franc, but my family did not. (Good thing, since it's $42.50 a bottle.). In the mood for rose, we purchased a bottle of the reserve and enjoyed it with a charcuterie board. White Horse Winery is dog friendly, imperative since I have a little furry house guest this week. Saturday afternoon we were entertained by singer/guitarist Zac Run. (Zac makes his rounds at restaurants, local wineries and distilleries. He's quite good!) By mid-afternoon the winery was hopping with a birthday gathering and what looked like two bachelorette parties. There's plenty of seating on the porch, inside and on the grounds. I look forward to a return visit.

The presentation was one of my favorite parts. The tasting tower was beautifully arranged, with the wines placed in the recommended order for sampling. They offered a nice variety of flavors, and honestly, every wine we tried was delicious. The interior was small but inviting and cozy without feeling cramped or claustrophobic. The staff was friendly and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. My only complaints were that they didn't offer water with the tasting, which would have been nice, and I would have loved to see some pairing options such as cheese, crackers, or chocolate. After leaving, we walked around the area and discovered that they have a second location with a different interior. Based on some of the reviews I saw, that location offers chocolate and wine pairing tastings, which sounds like a fun option to try next time. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience and really enjoyed the visit. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area!
