Waste of time. The initial sales guy over the phone said they would negotiate w/ me on pricing on one of their new vehicles I had inquired on. When I came in I sat down w/ a couple of different sales guys to discuss pricing and possibility of a trade in. Not only did they grossly mark up MSRP by $5k, but this Bernard character had the audacity to say they would pay off the remaining 2 months of lease payments on my current vehicle and add an additional $200 which would essentially be an offer of $800! I was appalled by Bernard's smug behavior & arrogance from the beginning; but his lowball offer was an absolute disgrace. He acted like he was doing me a favor. If you are trying to screw someone over at least make an effort to be pretend to be customer oriented. All of the other dealers I visited never once tried to throw in the last two months of my lease payments as part of their offer. How dare he insult my intelligence and waste my time like that. Like I didn't do my research beforehand, or I didn't know that I had positive equity on my vehicle. You sir, look stupid! After I left, for two weeks they had the nerve to call & text me from various #s still trying to pursue my business. After the crap they pulled I'd rather invest in a bus pass than give them one red cent. Out of all the dealerships this has by far been the worse of them. read more

Well I literally just left this place super unsatisfied. I want a honda civic hatchback and was ready to make a deal. I have a pre approval already from my bank and ready to buy. I walked in the lot and saw two associates. They just continued to have a conversation. I walked through the lot and looked at the car I wanted and I came back to find them but they ignored me when I tried to talk so I left. Absolutely disrespectful and unprofessional. I am active duty for the navy and hope none of my other brother and sisters serving get treated this way. So I reccomend take your business elsewhere. I don't even want to give it one star but thats the lowest you can go. I bought a car from them and they gave me a carfax stating that the car has never been in an accident at all. I recently totaled the car which I bought only 30 days ago and when I received my settlement from the Insurance place it listed two additional accidents on the vehicle. They also over priced the car by $3000. I also went throught the supposed "internet department" I was told I would be buying the car at 11995. When all was said and done I ended up paying 12495, and they made me with no choice put down $4000 which I didn't have. I had $3000 which I thought would be enough but not for them. Then I got the car there were no headrests in the back seat they wanted me to pay $90 for an extra key. Oh I'm sorry but I just bought the car I'm pretty sure that the KEY comes with it. They would not give me the code to my key or anything. I never got the headrests either. I WOULD NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN! at first i told all my friends to go there because the sales guy was amazing. Very personable. But now I will be filing a lawsuit against them for falsifying their carfax. read more

First, I requested an appointment online and never heard anything. So after a week I called and asked about making an appointment under my warranty. Just wanted an oil change and a "check-up"... I was told it would be quick but that I would need to talk to some guy named Matt first. I left him a message and never heard anything back.. So I finally call and make an appointment and the woman on the other end of the phone (Miriam) begrudgingly (it seemed) made my appointment... I bring my car in today only for them to ask me (again) what I need done to it - um, did u not write that down the first 3 times I contacted you all? not to mention I put it on the online request form you never responded to... so as I sit down to talk to Miriam she asks me about my warranty info... well, I hand her the papers cuz who the hell knows? the dealer I bought the car from said I could take it to any Suzuki dealer... after looking at the papers, Miriam says "if anyone ever asks you" and tells me the name of the company... then says snidely "you should know that"... don't make me feel stupid! then she proceeds to make me feel even more stupid by making a big deal that I've waited so long to get an oil change - I was told 3 months - "or 3700 miles" she adds...okay, maybe if you would have answered me 2 weeks ago when I called the first time, we wouldn't be having this conversation. I'm clueless - it's my first time owning a new car. plus, I told u I put 10,000 miles on the car when we talked on the phone! then she says "you're fine picking up your car tomorrow, right?" I tell her I was told it would be quick. she says, "who told you that? cuz you talked to ME on the phone." Um, not the other 2 times I called. so then I tell her I didn't prepare for that. she said when u ask us to check other things, it takes time yadda yadda...then tells me they do a full inspection when they change the oil anyway! ack! really? this Miriam woman is the person you hire for customer service?? does she even like her job? seriously!! and the worst part is, there are only two Suzuki dealers in the County and the other one is a motorcycle dealership. read more

I recently bought a new Honda. When I started the process, I used the Internet to ask for price quotes. I included Ball Honda in my request because the main Honda website says that Ball Honda has an Internet sales department. I thought that sales consultants at dealerships would send me emails and engage me in a discussion about buying a new car. I was mistaken. All I got from Ball Honda was a robot reply. No reply from a real person. I did get a price quote from the robot, but the quote was higher than the MSRP. I could not believe it! A quote higher than the sticker price in the current environment where Honda sales are off 25 percent last month over the prior year, and where 3 million imports are currently sitting on lots at ports because dealerships don't want them. The last time I visited this dealership, several months ago, they were adding a $400 limited availability charge to new Civics. Ball Honda needs to get real and start to deal. I bought at another dealership, one which really did work with me over the Internet. One that has an Internet sales department. If Ball Honda has an Internet sales department, why haven't it taken ownership of this page and at least put up a photo? read more

I just wrote a review on how crappy Kearny Mesa Acura is, and how they should all go to Ball Acura, so I figured...I should write a review for Ball Acura! I always bring my 2005 TSX in to Jeff and his service team. Everyone there is so nice, raning from the cashier girl to his techs. Jeff is always really friendly and explains everything to me, and is a really nice guy. If I need a ride back to my office while they work on the car, they totally will take me. They also wash and vacuum with any service...cuz come on, it's an Acura, we're classy :) But really, Jeff and his team are really great, and you can even bring in your Hondas here. My company does a fleet thing with Ball Acura, and our Toyotas and Hondas are serviced here as well. And even if you don't love Ball Acura or plan to go here, save youself some grief, and don't go to Kearny Mesa Acura! read more

The salesman and manager were not willing to talk pricing without going through *their* credit application, which is absurd considering I was ready to pay cash. They insulted me with an MSRP quote. Why even bother? Their attitude was that I can't be serious about purchasing if I don't apply for financing through them. My guess is that he was also trying to evaluate my ethnicity and attire. Five stars? Um no. We went to Ball Honda to check out lease deals on a 2008 Accord or Civic. The test drive went fine, but when the sales guy- who was fine- handed us off to the closer, my wife and I (she a contract attorney, me a trial attorney) were left shaking our heads at the high pressure sales technique, including signing a statement that said we would buy once we agreed to terms. What is that supposed to mean? Of course you buy when you agree to terms. They also wasted about 1/2 hour of time when all we wanted from them was a piece of printed paper listing the offers for various lease terms with various down payments. I would change some things with my experience here however these would not keep me from recommending the dealerships to others. I seemed to be a more difficult customer (from their stand point) as I was somewhat particular in what I wanted in terms of looks and price. I worked closely with Alex and he was very helpful and straightforward. He was also very patient with me as it was my first time buying so I asked a lot of questions and he had to do a lot of explaining. He didn't have the stereotypical sales person attitude and seemed to care about more than just the sale... this was very appreciated! My in person experience was great, I was able to test drive the Honda and after working out the numbers, we all agreed that I would need to save a little more and increase my score a little more to get the payment that I wanted. I left in good spirits and was planning on reaching out to the salesman that assisted with me a couple months down the road. Today, 12/8 I receive THREE calls back to back from 619-474-6431, I was at work so I did not answer but after the third call, I answered just in case it was a family member. I disconnected the call because I cannot talk while at work and then received an email from a salesman at 619-647-4217 that states "Nicole, if you're no longer in the market for a car let me know. We can remove you from the follow up list. You inquired and came to see some civics. You were interested in a car so we follow up to see if you're ready to make a purchase. You can reply here and I can remove you from the follow up list. Works better than hanging up the phone. Let me know, thanks!" I was fine with his initial text but he stated "works better than hanging up the phone" and then made me angry as I was at work and in sales and typically, it is respectful to call once and leave a voicemail. I told him I'd never want to work with a pushy salesman and I didn't answer cause I was at work, (I didn't even have to tell him that, it's none of his business but I'm respectful.) He then responds to me completely out of line, "Between me and you if you hvnt bought by now... is for a reason. Just wanted to close out your info to make sure to not call anymore. If u don't answer I obviously dont know why that's why I leave a message for all I know you may HAVE HAD RECEPTION BECAUSE OF CRICKET SERVICE (what???). I don't know thats why I confirm. As I confirm that you hvnt bought a car and are not in the market anymore so will close out your info. Now no one will call you for that same inquire. I wouldn't want to work with a pushy sales people either or customer who can't really buy. Have a great day :)" I'm in sales and customer service myself and this is extremely unacceptable. I am disappointed and now will never go back to this dealership due to the lack of unprofessionalism that I experienced. He is clearly upset because I would not give him the time of day and he went from being ethical and talking to me appropriately to talking to me like I'm some kind of friend of his. Everyone knows how some car dealerships can be super pushy when it comes to sales, but we can honestly say that everyone we worked with from sales to finance were a real pleasure to work with and we never felt like we were being pushed into buying. Now what really convinced me to write a review was when we needed to get our cars serviced. My schedule is kinda crazy so I usually have to make last minute plans. When I called the service department I spoke with a gentleman named Manny who got us in right away! Manny helped explain what they were going to do and how long it was going to to take. Although it was just a simple oil change and tire rotation the entire visit from the time we called to the time we left was super smooth. I made a round of calls to the Honda fleet managers around town 1 week before Labor Day 2010. Out of the seven or eight guys I talked to, Frank Ortiz from Ball Honda gave me the worst impression. He was evasive when I asked him for a price quote on car of interest (the other dealerships had no problems giving me this quote), tried to cull info from me about other dealerships' quotes, and attempted to talk me into an appointment. When he felt that none of his old tricks worked, the guy found an excuse to get off the phone, promised to call me back, and, naturally, never did it. The week before, my parents and a family friend had also stopped by their lot to check the price out and was given an exorbitant number (above the MSRP price !!). These Ball Honda salesmen really gave us the creep. We ended up purchasing our car at another car dealership in San Diego. However little time you have, do not rush into any engagements with these salesmen until after you do your homework online. There are more Honda dealerships from the border all the way to Carlsbad and beyond for you to give your business to. Thus, skipping on Ball Honda will certainly save ample of your precious research time. read more

I have a 2011 Acura RDX that I take to Ball Acura for the regular maintenance. They do an outstanding job of servicing my car and their customer service is unbeatable! I have taken it in 3 or 4 times for regular maintenance (i've put 25K miles on it already!) and have consistently been treated like a valued customer and gotten excellent service. Jeff Arkin, Service Manager there, and his team in Service are great!! They are friendly, professional, efficient (they get my car serviced quickly), good at communicating with me, and didn't try to sell me service I didn't need. I was not expecting to have a good experience here, but came when Costco Automotive referred me. I was looking for a base model Fit with manual transmission under the Costco pricing. There is very little profit margin on this car, and two other "Costco" dealers turned me away. Louie and Bernard came through. I got the car I wanted with minimum hassle, no upsell, and they went and picked up the car from another dealer. When we finished, they even delivered the car to my house in San Diego. I absolutely am impressed with their service. I use to go to Fuller Honda now Penske and I had so many problems there. There was something wrong with my 2015 Honda Civic and at that time it was less then a year old. I kept hearing a strange noise coming from somewhere, but I just could not pin point it. I was originally told by Zach at Fuller that is was my transmission and I needed a new one. Really this is a brand new car??!! Then Honda rep came out and she said she did not hear anything and made me feel like I was crazy. Anyway it got worse from there so I decided to take it to Ball and Juan the service rep was awesome. I told him my problem and he right away he said let's go for a drive and with in 5 minutes he said to me it is the wheel bearing.. he was right they replaced it free of charge cause it was still under warrenty. From that moment on Ball is the place I go. Juan is amazing and has the best customer service ever. I just had my oil changed yesterday and his service once again was top notch. I also want to give props to Javier in sales. I have not bought a car from him, but one day when I was up there and my car was being serviced. He and I started talking and he is just the nicest guy. Buyer Beware; My 72 year old Mother-in-law purchased her Acura at Ball in 2005. This experience was average at best (yes I was there). This week she took her car to there service department to have the power steering pump fixed at the tune of $500.00. OK fare enough. What upset me is: she asks the service tech if they could please take a minute and look at the latch on the back seat on the vehicle and let her know why it was sticking. Their response was; it will be $100.00 for us to look at the seat latch. She asked them why so much? It will just take a few minuets. Their response was we don't work for free, maybe you do, but we don't! I know companies need to make a living and keep there doors open, but this is excessive! Really $100.00 to look at a latch! Well she told them not to look at it knowing this is very aggressive pricing for 10 minuets of work. The service department also told her that her rear brakes needed to have the rotors resurfaced. The car only has 30,000 miles on it, and she drives like a 72 year old woman; I have driven the car and the brakes work fine. No pulling, grinding, pulsing, or anything out of the ordinary. I don't write a lot of reviews, but when someone is taking advantage of a 72 year old grandmother I need to speak up. Buyer Beware!! read more

I have no complaints about the salesman, the one we worked with was excellent and that is why this dealership has one star from me. Unfortunately his excellence could do nothing to make up for the sales and finance departments' ineptitude. The transmission in my car had gone so i was looking to purchase a vehicle as soon as possible. My fiance and i arrived at the dealership, were met by John(sorry i forgot his last name!) and he immediately brought us to two vehicles that matched our needs exactly. I had found at other dealerships the salesman would show me five or six vehicles that were outside my budget and i'd have to practically pull nails to show me anything reasonable. John was excellent at getting right to the point and even would remind me of what i had told him my needs were if my eye was caught by something different. Within an hour we had found, test drived, and decided on a vehicle. That's where their convenience stopped. After going over the price and other technical details of the purchase we were sent to the waiting area to wait for someone in the billing department to be free. We waited there for close to two hours. Every ten minutes of so John would come in to let us know he was working on getting us seen and that they were really busy that day which was hard to believe since we saw only two other people in the building. Finally, after close to two and a half hours we were brought into a little office where Clint went over the contract and warranty options. As stated in a review previously,"my wife and I (she a contract attorney, me a trial attorney) were left shaking our heads at the high pressure sales technique". That is exactly what we found as well. The entire process my fiance and i felt bullied. The contract process was smooth but as soon as we started talking about what warranty to go with. Since i needed the car immediately and was willing to pay in full i didn't really want a warranty that was going to break the bank. I told him that, yet he insisted we needed the full warranty, for $2600 that would cover "pipes and gaskets". Each time he went over the benefits we would decline believing that since this was an emergency vehicle and something i intended to replace within the next five years, a first or second level warranty would be just fine. Over and over again he argued with us, each time saying,"I've worked here 13 yrs and in my experience this is necessary" leading me to wonder "In your thirteen years of working here you've sold THAT many faulty vehicles?" as all of the extra coverage of this gold plan covered possible internal failings. My mother was the one providing the funding for this vehicle so i got her on the phone and regardless of how many times she said she'd be satisfied with a cheaper warranty he eventually bullied us into the contract. We had a horrible time getting financed because my mother is out of state, however there was no communication of that to any of us. My mom would wait for days to hear from the finance department and usually had to call them to find out if she had been approved or not. The process took a total of four days and ultimately ended with her being financed at a down the street from her which could have been done the day we arrived at the dealership if anyone would have gotten back to us. When i called the dealership to complain about the holes in communication and horrible customer service, instead of being given to a superior i was given directly back to Cliff. He took personal offense to my criticisms, blamed my mother for the inconveniences and then mocked her voice in trying to explain the situation to me. At that point, i asked to be put on the phone with someone else, waited on hold for a half hour, talked to someone who had no idea what was going on and didn't even seem like the belonged in the department. I was promised a phone call from the head of the department the next day. It's been two months and i have yet to hear from them, have not yet received the title or registration for the car even though they received the sign contract and a check for the full amount a week after our meeting. The entire experience has kept me EVER wanting to go back there again and i would strongly suggest not ever purchasing a vehicle from there unless you enjoy being belittled. read more

Last chance to take care of my problem that I was promised. I started this a few days ago. I am not happy,I was told they would take care of 3 things on my car I just bought there.Touch up paint,replace a rubber strip on roof that was missing and fix the lock on inside where you push to open trunk and pull to open gas flap. I got rubber molding done no problem. Touch up paint salesman I got car from said he had to pay for it out of his pocket and set it up to have them do it figured it would save him but when I went back there after a trip like the third or fourth time going back and getting the sorry can't do it today. Was told by salesman no way would they fix the lock and he said Ball Honda would take care of it,so I told him get me touch up paint and left. NOT HAPPY WITH IT. I was told it would be taken care of and got run around from salesman I would not go back there or recommend that place after they told me one thing than didn't make good on it. read more
