When asked how long job would take (was given a 3-5 day estimate) so as to know how long the rental car time frame needed would be, the owner got unnecessarily upset, refused to take the job and then rudely told all parties to leave. I've never seen a business owner refuse a job due to a person asking about the terms of that job. Apparently he doesn't need the business, so I will advise folks to take theirs to a shop that will appreciate the work. read more

Took my 2007 Camry to Jason for some paint work. He beat a competitor shop (Sids) by 300 plus he did the rear panel the other shop repaired previously but poorly. His painter, Julio, is an expert painter and did a fantastic job on my car. I highly recommend this shop for paint work. As a side note. Jason will verbally tell you his work has a lifetime warranty. This promise is not contained in any document he gives you. I had Jason hand write on my receipt his work had a lifetime warranty. Jason needs to correct this obvious omission in his documentation. Secondly, Jason told me a seal on my car would be reused so I would not be charged for a new one. That did not happen. A new seal was installed and I was charged for it and Jason neglected to inform me this was done. Overall I love the work done. Jason needs to make changes to his business practices though. If he does then this place would be perfect. read more

Jason and his staff have been keeping our cars running very well for over ten years. They have always taken the time to make repairs correctly and I have never felt that they were just trying to make a quick buck by selling me something I didn't need. Last year my wife's 2000 MB needed another intake manifold that was about $1000,00 new. Jason was able to find a used manifold at half the cost. A month ago I purchased a 2000 MB wagon. Jason has made this wagon look and run almost like a new car. Jason was trained as a Mercedes mechanic years ago in Germany so he knows how to keep them running. I like to find and do business with the small shop's because they seem to care more and try harder to please the customer compared to the corporate run business'. Although , this shop has a big facility to work in .... it's an old car dealership with a lot of history. In any case, they do excellent work and care at very reasonable price. Good service professionally executed at a reasonable price. My son had a run-in with a fence in my BMW convertible, considerably mangling the right front bumper and dislodging the blinker and headlight. Damage was bad enough that the car seemed a little dangerous to drive, so I looked for a well-reviewed local body shop open on Saturday, settling on Jason. I was pleased by Jason's professionalism and apparent interesting in saving me money. (One option was to replace the headlight, which would have added $1200 to the bill. Jason found a workaround involving some creative patchwork.) I was also pleased with the result. After the repair, the affected area looks like new. read more

I have a 10-year old Saab and recently moved from San Francisco to San Diego. I'm used to taking in my aging Saab into the repair shop at least twice a year, and budget ~$1000 each year to keep it running. Given the increased mileage in my daily commute to work, it didn't take long for my car to give out on me once again. My transmission light went on, and I lost my power steering all within one minute while trying to find the Best Buy in El Cajon. After google mapping for auto body shops, I struggled down University Ave and randomly chose Jason's. I expected the worst from a $ perspective, but got exactly the opposite: great prices and wonderful customer service. According to the bill, the tech "found Serpentine belt missing and Idler pulley broken apart in pieces." Both were fixed along with rear rotors and rear brake plads (which I knew I needed) for under $500 in about 5 hours. Something like this would have cost me more than $1000 in San Francisco, and I would have had to leave my car overnight. I'm very glad to have found Jason's, even if it was just a random occurence that I stopped in. If you are in the La Mesa or El Cajon area, I would recommend getting a price quote from Jason's before you take your car in to your "go-to" place. Brian read more

On a Saturday 2 hours before he closed I squeaked into the parking lot, knowing my brake pads were metal on metal. He was slammed but took one look and took pity on me. Fixed my brakes and at a very fair price.
