Sweet and sour prawn lunch special is delicious and great to take home 30% of it for an afternoon snack or dinner!

Amazing food, personable service, and fun karaoke. Lunch specials are an incredible value, I cannot even finish the entree after savoring the soup. Staff is always on point and bring a smile to my face.

Ballard Mandarin surprised me--in the best way. The salt and pepper shrimp were perfectly crisp with that just-right garlic kick, and the deluxe tofu vegetables had this fresh, wok-fired zing. Even the Dirty Shirley felt elevated. Service was kind, casual, and refreshingly unhurried. A cozy, no-frills spot that lets the food speak first. I haven't been to their world famous karaoke yet but they have expanded their program since I started coming here in 2021 from only Fridays to Monday/Wednesday/Friday/Sundays!

    Mongolian Beef - very good!

It's a great place - very traditional American Chinese menu with traditional set up for tables and ambiance. Food is fresh and service is great. Very good prices for what you get in Seattle. We especially loved wonton soup, sweet sour chicken and chow mein. My partner loved the Mongolian beef too but I didn't due to the quality of meat lower than I expected. I'd keep coming back for other dishes.

    General Taos chicken.

Delicious chicken dishes. Had the general Taos which was flavorful and came with a lot of savory sauce. Egg flower soup is delicious. Service inside and take out always friendly. Ambience is simple. Dine in is smaller but enough room for parties up to 6. 7 booths in front and a bar and karaoke area in back for added fun on nights and weekends?

What's not to love here, a classic chinese american joint that scratches the itch. Service is quick and we are always seated right away, though most times this is a takeout spot for us. The soups are warm and hearty and the dishes are exactly what you would expect. We love the large portions and happily make several meals out them each time. We've heard there is karaoke here sometimes in the lounge but have never seen it in action, sounds like a lively time!

I'm gonna give this a three star due to the fact that the place is fairly dated the service was very good. The portions are very good. The prices for lunch everything is under $10. I did have the almond fried chicken and the breading was still kind of raw on the chicken other than that the service was great. Good place for cheap fast Chinese food

Not really a place to eat inasmuch as a place to just hang out, have drinks and - most importantly…read more- sing your heart out in karaoke no matter your skill level! My friends and I came here on a Wednesday night around 8pm and basically spent all of our time out in the front where the bar is since that's where open karaoke is. To queue songs to sing, you need to use a website called Healsonic to search for the song titles or artist names (you get to it using a QR code). You write down your initials, the song number of the song you want to sing and the song title, then pass it to someone behind the counter to the immediate left of the entrance. Song choices are not limited to just songs in English; you can choose songs from a variety of languages, and I got a chance to sing one of my favorite Cantonese oldies at one point. From past experiences singing karaoke here, there's always at least one mic out of the two passed around the crowd that isn't working properly and I end up singing louder than needed on that one mic. Regardless, my friends and I have always had a great time laughing, testing our vocals and just enjoying ourselves as if we were clubbing! I haven't yet been to any of their karaoke rooms, though I do hear prices for them are relatively high from others who've used them. One of my friends and I got their My Melody drink, which consists of coconut cream, pineapple and a pink sugar rim. Drink tasted kinda cheesy... literally. Must have been the cream but I downed the drink fast; it was refreshing for the environment (though a little heavy on the vocal cords) and not too sweet. It is on the pricier end, about $8 before tax. This is a well-run place regardless of the number of people that fill up open karaoke and the karaoke rooms themselves. Staff are friendly and acommodating especially with refilling water, following up on karaoke queuing mistakes and serving drinks. I see myself and my friends coming back here more often!

First, the song selection system wasn't the easiest to use. The device, tucked into the corner of the room, had a lot going on--options to order food, search by language, browse top songs, etc.--which is great in theory, but I didn't find it very user-friendly. I searched for Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, and Rosé, but none of them showed up. I must've done something wrong, but I couldn't figure it out, so I resorted to scrolling through artists alphabetically. Another issue was the lyrics on the screen-- the highlighted words didn't match up with the song, making it hard to sing along if you didn't already know the lyrics by heart. On top of that, there was no way to skip intros or interludes, so you had to sit through the full music video unless you skipped the song entirely. Also, no tambourine in the room? Is that not a thing anymore? I wanted to play along while my friends sang, but apparently, that wasn't an option. Lastly, the way our session ended felt abrupt. I'm used to getting a time check before our booking is up, but instead, we were just told to leave when our time was over. It wasn't a huge deal, but it did feel a little rushed. Overall, we had fun, but the experience could've been better.

They had a large sandwich board sing on the sidewalk to help you find it. The staff was very friendly making sure we had everything we needed and even upgraded us to a larger room and gave us a complimentary extra 15 minutes. They checked in throughout the evening and were so kind. The karaoke setup itself worked fine, but several of the songs didn't have the correct lyrics which made for a humorous mix up. The lyric videos were also very odd - playing on top of videos that sometimes had nothing to do with the song or artist. If you're like me a practiced your karaoke song down to a T, you'll find it funny when the words on screen aren't correct lol. That's my only suggestion for improvement! They have a small bar with bottled water and canned drinks (including pop).

But tonight I received the most aggressive and ridiculous interaction with their staff. I have lived on Capitol Hill for ten years, and have been going to The Crescent casually throughout that time with no terribly bad experiences. But tonight, when a glass was broken and I instinctively went to help clean up (I understand staff does not want customers to help with broken glass and I should have left it alone, but I instinctively moved one large piece and then stopped) I was yelled at quickly and aggressively by a member of the staff. I do not know this woman, she is not usually working when I go in, so I'm not sure if she was hired temporarily for Pride weekend or if she was a new hire. What I do know is that she did not care how she came across to me, or anyone else in the vicinity, and even came outside after I decided to leave and continued to yell at me as I left. I can't attest to this personally, but after she yelled at me in the bar, I was told by other patrons that she had been aggressive and strict about kicking people out for various reasons. I am a loyal patron here, but am disheartened by the behavior of this staff member who made things mean and aggressive in what could have been a benign moment. With many years in the service industry myself I know situations can get stressful and guests don't always do what you would like them to do, but it is quite literally your job to handle those situations. I know typically The Crescent is a very positive and kind place, and hope someone who exhibits this kind of behavior will not continue to represent them.
