The other three didn't put out sound. - English song list is very lacking. - Popular songs are not updated frequently. Been wanting to go karaoke-ing with friends so I'm glad we got to go to this place after having dinner in Edmonds. Getting a room was pretty easy on a Friday night. We got a few bottles of soju and banana wine. We booked the room for an hour, which was enough since we did a lot of duets and group singalongs! Had a great time dropping in on a last minute Friday night in Lynnwood! I called ahead and asked if there was space for two and they said sure just walk in. You will need your ID, it's 21+, and DONT BRING FOOD OR DRINK IN it's like a $100 fine if you do, I'm glad I saw it noted on Yelp before accidentally bringing a water bottle or something. Came here with a couple friends on a Saturday night right at 7, plenty of room and availability. The controller was all in Korean which for us was a challenge but the guy working there was kind in showing us the basic functions. We had a great time fore a couple hours. Big Bang is a lot of fun. It's not all luxe like Rockbox; in fact, it's pretty much the opposite with decor that Hillary from Trading Spaces would have come up with, but it's a great time! Cost us $25/an hour to be here with a private room, and we walked in without reservations. Reservations are available and encouraged, else you'll be waiting. The lighting automatically changes for each song, with the room lights automatically coming up between songs. Would have liked being able to control that, and the disco ball was either dead or burnt out, but no big deal. They have songs in English, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Filipino. They call it "Philippinese" on the menu, good grief! Some of the translations between languages is incorrect for the songs, but who cares. The karaoke machine scores the singer at the end. The three of us found it interesting how it scored us when we were doing a duet or all three of us were singing. They don't allow outside food or drink but had menus available for ordering. No waitstaff came and checked us on the whole time, would have liked being able to order some drinks. Parking is free! This is located in a strip mall that's away from the main road of 99. read more

I had a fun time here, but when with good friends you can make anything turn into a good time despite the circumstances. Very strict rules on no outside drinks, not even water... they watch the rooms and will kick you out if they catch you as I was swiftly told when I called to make a reservation. Unfortunate because they don't have many drinks to offer in the first place, and 2 hours into singing my throat was dry as a bone. They will let you order food from Kochi Po-Cha just two doors down and you can eat in the room since it's the same owner, but no other outside food, not even Dawa right next door between the two businesses. Their website domain has been expired for awhile, so hard to get accurate info on prices, hours, rules, and what they have to offer unless you call. I thought it was going to be $25/hr as I read on other reviews here, but it's $30/hr now. English song selection is okayyyy, but missing quite a few karaoke classics and not up to date with the latest songs if that's the scene you're looking for (no Olivia Rodrigo). The standard room itself was clean and spacious enough to probably accommodate up to 6-8 people. None of us spoke Korean, but the remote is pretty straight forward to use once you know what buttons to press. The worker didn't notice us playing any music after the first 5 min so he came in to check on us and gave us a quick rundown of the controls. Can search by song name or artist and queue songs... but the system was a little finicky at times and didn't automatically play the next song in the queue. More songs are registered in the system than the actual printed out songbook. The lights in our room didn't work as described in other reviews here by turning on between songs. Our disco ball was broken too, so I had to request one from another room. The music videos are Asian and don't sync with the original song, kinda funny though. No warning from a worker when your time is about to expire so you can do last call on a song, you'll just see an "insert coin" text pop up on the screen and you won't be able to play the next song unless you request another hour at the front. Somehow our first hour got cut off short by 20min... so I had to go check up front to see what was up, it was some error on their end... so maybe have someone in your group keep an eye on the clock to make sure you get your actual hour. On the fence of whether or not I'd come back here, I'll have to try some other karaoke spots to really compare. So for now I'd give it a neutral 3/5 overall rating. My new favorite place! The rooms are all themed for different planets (Jupiter is tiny and it's adorable) and the rooms are comfy and well decked out with party lights and mood lighting to really get you into diva mode. The music selection is really great too. They had every song we wanted to sing (sans die antwoord but that was a long shot anyway) and the setup was easy. The man working there that night was also really nice and made conversation with our friend visiting from Korea. As per usual, you can have alcohol and snacks taken to your room but we noticed they had menus for the Izakaya restaurant next door so it seems you can order food from there and have it brought over as well. If that's true then that is dope. So we plan on going back very soon to sing our little hearts out. La la la read more

Found a new karaoke joint muhaha! Came here on a Saturday night around 7:30pm and was greeted in Korean by the guy at the front. Apparently I look Korean or so I've heard. We got the regular room, which is $25/hour, but I guess if you come here on a weeknight it's happy hour 4-9pm and thus half price. The remote thing in the karaoke room is in hangul, so unless your Korean is bomb from bomb dot com, you will probably need the English translation card that you can ask for. What is cool about this place is that when a song starts, all the lights in the room go dim, which really sets the mood. It's also good because it discourages your friends from searching frantically through the song book while you are singing. I don't know---I'm the type that likes to actually listen to friends sing instead of not pay attention and look for my own songs. #karaokeetiquette The place has a wide selection of English, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, and Tagalog songs (it's "Philippinese" on the actual book). The background videos are pretty cool too because they are mostly PVs of Korean songs, and surprisingly the song really matches the video despite being different languages! My only complaint is that this place does not have certain songs. For example, some Korean songs we were expecting are not there. There is also a lack of Macklemore songs as well as Khalil Fong's songs. In addition, maybe we are just dumb but we could not search by artist for some reason, so we ended up going through the songbook and searching by song title. I'll come here again the next time I'm feeling for karaoke and am in the area for like Korean BBQ or something of that sort. By the way, Arirang BBQ is next door!! read more

Came here recently, pretty cool place! I dont be up in Lynnwood very much but I dont mind coming here at all! It's Located in a newer strip mall with some Korean restaurants around, teriyaki joints etc. You check-in at the front, the rooms are numbered and also named by planets like Uranus. I think we got the medium sized room which was spacious for 5 of us. Comfy counches, but the room was a bit warm, but they are quick to bring you a box fan to put in the corner to keep it cool in there. Nice big tv monitor, room comes with a few tambourines, good sound system, a monster controller to enter your songs and control the specifications, add effects etc. (Controller is in Korean, but there is a cheat sheet to use to translate what the buttons mean). There was another tv monitor on the backside wall too if you want to stand in front of your friends while singing. The lights dim, disco ball turns, the effects come on for each song but the regular room lights come on in between. Pretty cool in my book! A decent selection of English songs but the book is mainly by song title and not by artist. They have other language songs too from Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and "Philippinese" for you Filipinos. hahaha! Beer, water and soda are offerred, not much food except chips and some candy. Oh wow, this establishment definitely plays to a specific crowd which is fine, but in many ways makes you feel unwelcome. First off they really like to point out that NO OUTSIDE DRINKS are allowed, alcoholic or otherwise or else $100 fine. Okay we can respect. In fact we have because we've been there before, and before we were allowed to bring in our own food. So we go there with a bunch of boxes of pizza and cupcakes as we were celebrating a child birthday. Outside food, NO GO, only food from next door allowed we are told. Seriously? No signs and we've done it before but they must've changed their policy without posting it. So we sit out in the parking lot eating our pizza before entering the establishment. Yes we stayed, the birthday boy wanted to do Karaoke for his birthday. So after we eat some pizza, buy THEIR beer, we go to their Karaoke room which reminds me of a VIP room in a strip club and kinda smells like one too. Their music selection? If you're Korean it's a HUGE selection. If you're American, it's tiny, limited and the videos that go with them weird and the lyrics don't sync with the music. Bottom line, while we have been here before, this will probably be our last time here. So not worth the room price/rental. The rooms are spacious, well decorated, and feature lights and an atmosphere that make you feel like Axel Rose in his heyday! If you aren't familiar with the Korean style Norebang style of karaoke, you rent a room and sing while paying per hour. Still managed to have fun here but there were a lot of things that rubbed me the wrong way. We came here on a weekday so it wasn't busy, in fact when my friend and I went we were the only ones there. Despite having several rooms the owner placed us in a room that didn't have a working light and a microphone that hardly worked. When we asked about it he said oh yeah I know, and did not apologize for it or even to switch us to a different room. I think it is pretty trashy to give customers a room with malfunctioning equipment that you know about. Give a different room and upgrade the equipment. I don't mind old as long as it is working but that was not the case here. read more

They open at 5:00p, we were there at exactly 5:00p and no one was there. We waited for more than half an hour, and finally at 5:48 someone arrived. The rate per hour is $25, which I think is decent. (The woman next door who was apparently helping out this business gave us an extra 30 minute for the karaoke, in exchange for us waiting for a long time. I respect and appreciate that.) The downside to this place is, everything is in Korean. There arent any translations. The songbooks are also almost all korean. There's probably only 200 english songs out of 10,000 others on the list. Lastly what I hated the most is the dark room. You can't read anything off of the songbook without turning a flashlight on. My phone almost died bec of the flashlight's battery usage. Lol. But other than those, i would come back again. This time, probably around 7p so i dont have to wait again. This karaoke spot is located in a little plaza by Arirang Korea BBQ and behind O2 Sushi. It might be easy to miss because it's a little hidden away on highway 99. The lot is fairly tight but there's usually quite a few spots always available. When you go inside, the waiting area is a bit small but has just enough room for people to check in and out at the front desk. They also have drinks and snacks as well! When you go further inside, there's private karaoke rooms to use. There's always at least two mics, a couple of tambourines, comfortable seating, books with lists of songs, a fan, and a big screen for lyrics. I always go with a group of people to spend a fun night out singing karaoke together. It's a good hangout spot with reasonable prices. The employees here are pretty friendly and nice so that's always a plus. This will continue to be a go-to hangout spot! read more

So, once upon a recent time, me and my awesome friend were in the area-ish for dinner. I actually just looked it up briefly as an afterthought for post-fun potential late-nite. Press the [FF} button, et voila! Now she likes it, lol, and I, as well! It's _sort of_ like Stars in the Sky (SITS) only minus the bar and all the food (and a few other items). The entry has all your snack fixin's, waiting magazines and array of alcoholic beverages. The space felt typical Korean K-Box with minor fanservice posters and diamond-shaped square mirrors in-and-out. The bathroom was pretty standard. I think it also had a neat dual-flush toilet, not sure. I've been in a medium and large room. Both are great and comfortable. Posters along the walls have previous month's Top Hits, it looks like, and with both languages. One thing uniquely different from old-favorite Rock Box is that here you enter the room which _seems_ unlively at first but once a song starts the lights change it up & stuff! Oh! And also another thing different (both good & bad, I think) is that all of the [English] songs seem to have an undertone of Korean pop and/or more pronounced bass. Some songs also (as you could potentially expect) are shorter or longer versions of the original tunes with occasional 'off' lyrics. The song books are by Song Title only, it appears... I'm one of those that easily prefers by Artist/Group. D'oh! Great beer and service, although my Korean friend did 99% of the communicating. One thing funny regarding staff, as well, was there's a certain older host lady who's just so funny. She typically has a goofy fashion style, as well! Have you seen those rappers/hip-hop artists with their big belt buckles showing off as "bling"? Picture her with a big square, guady piece! She did have a nice dress outfit on but imagine her top tucked in behind this big square buckle, lol. SITS comparison: I'd _probably_ bump it up to 5 stars if BBK had the goofy "applause" button on their keypad and I believe By Artist, as well (I think it was either in the song books and/or on the on-screen search function). I've come to really enjoy these K-Box places in their own [special] ways. My favorite is still Rock Box if you ask me, though. =) read more

We only planned for an hour and ended up staying for three we were having so much fun. They have such a massive song selection and me and my friends ended up jamming out super hard to emo rock bands. I lived in Korea for one year, and loved going to the noraebangs (the Korean equivalent of karaoke). Let me tell you: the owner, Mr. Choi put a lot of effort into making this place look just like the noraebangs in Korea. From the interior finish to the slick HDTVs and karaoke system, this is the definitive noraebang in Lynnwood, or Washington state for that matter. Puts places like SBK and Enkore to shame. Every room has its own disco ball and unique decor. Comfy sofas and chairs. This place only opened about 3 months ago, so everything inside is brand new. They take reservations for large parties. $25 an hour for the regular rooms, and $50 an hour for the grand room. Definitely worth the money if you have a large party of people. Their Korean and English song selection is always up to date. They got Gangnam Style only a couple of weeks after it came out. I do wish they had a wider selection of old school English songs, but oh well...you can't have them all. They're open for requests though. While their primary focus are Korean and English songs, they also have Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Filipino. The karaoke remote might be a little confusing to navigate if you don't understand Korean, but the super friendly staff will be happy to assist you. They sell beer and typical Korean snacks. Big Bang has a bit of a partnership with the Korean restaurant, "Yang Pyung" that's conveniently located right next to it. The staff can order from the restaurant and deliver the food to your room for no extra charge! read more

Dangit, Justin beat me to the punch. Welp, second review it is! So, I love to sing and it's not that I am really great at it but I sing whenever I can. As of yet, Rock Box had been my favorite karaoke place but after spending a few hours here, I've found a new favorite. The place is located in a small plaza, right next to B-Bop Fusion Rice Bar (correct name?). At first glance, it looks small but they have 8-9 rooms if I remember correctly and they are quite spacious. Simple decor, nice lighting and really comfy seating. The room we were in had one big flat screen in the front and another flat screen on the left wall. There's a disco ball that turns on every time a song starts so that in between you have adequate lighting to do what it is you need to do lol. Like take funny group photos. My favorite thing about this place is the selection. Omigosh, so many songs ranging in languages from Korean, Japanese, Filipino, Chinese, Vietnamese and of course English. I always have a hard time thinking of songs to sing on the spot but every song that did come to mind, they had it. Kpop is what I mostly listen to and being able to karaoke to favorite songs is awesome. Now, if only I could actually read Korean... Haha. Pros: Large rooms for private parties. We had plenty of space for about 15 people. Could have fit about 10 more. Have wigs and props to dress up. Plus a fan and mini disco ball. 2 TVs. Lots of space to get up and dance. Can bring I. Your own food if you want. Cons: crappy song selection in English. Hard to find songs in their books. Listed only by song title not artist. You can search on-screen but not while a song is in progress or you can't see lyrics. New English song selections are available but scattered throughout and very tedious to find them. And the remote control is all in Korean!! English speakers are forced to use a laminated translation card to figure out what buttons to use. Even then it is quite difficult and not intuitive. No bar. Just a fridge with a few drinks (beer and pop). they ran out of many selections when we were there. The mics are wireless but they didn't have them charged and ready for us. Even though it was a Friday night and we had a reservation. We ended up with only 1 mic that had to be plugged in, limiting where we could stand. Very frustrating! Price is neutral. Not too expensive but not that cheap either. Not a terrible place to go for Karaoke but I won't go back. Wish they had the Karaoke system used at Rock Box in Seattle. But then when we finished singing for an hour and 40 mins the boss was like oh I didn't do that but you guys sang for two hours so I'm charging you guys for $40. I came here with friends and was very disappointed in the quality of customer care. We stayed for 3 hours. Three people paid for each separate hour along with any drinks we grabbed from the fridge. The first paid $160. The second paid $60. When we got to the end of the night, we were charged an additional $300. When asked for an itemized check to account for time and alcohol, one could not be provided. The final hour, our room had one drink (plum wine which is $10). We overstayed our last hour by about 5 to 10 minutes, because nobody came in to give us any sort of time warning. If it was the Rockbox on Capitol Hill, we would have had several warnings. Luckily, our arguing got our final bill down to a more reasonable $120 (still too high, though.) Honestly, just skip this place and go to Seattle. It was more of a 3.5 star experience. A lot of the songs (literally about half of the 20ish songs we sang) were not full versions of the songs. It would play through about the first verse, not even getting to the chorus, and then the song would just fade out. I'm talking classics, like Every Rose Has Its Thorn, etc. Really weird. Not sure if this was just their bizarre song selections or if it was something we were doing? The songs that did work were great fun, and the lighting in the room when you start the songs was really awesome. Room had nice comfortable furniture. They have HUGE rooms available for large parties. I, for some reason, was under the impression there was a full bar you could order drinks from? There was only beer to choose from if you did want to drink, so I recommend pre-gaming because if you bring your own drinks in and they catch you, they fine you something like $100. But if they were able to start offering drinks from a full bar, or even just a greater selection, I'd say the experience was have been a bit better! honestly, probably one of the nicest karaoke (norebang) in Lynnwood. i've been to them ALL. this is the newest establishment in the area and they run a great business! from the newest Korean & Japanese music, they have the latest English hits and other languages such as Vietnamese, Chinese, Spanish, Filipino, etc. we discovered this place from none other than my lil bro. he's driven past here a few times and on its Grand Opening week- i was in town and decided to give it a whirl. the owner, Mr. Choi is a delight. very humble and thankful for his clients... he made sure we had the giant room reserved for 8 of my friends and i. i couldn't believe how great the service was! the receptionist out front made sure we were taken care of, checking up on us or asking us if we had any questions, etc. i really enjoyed talking to her (Soi??). everyone who works there is so nice and i love that about Korean businesses! we made the HAPPY HOUR cut off and got lots of stuff discounted. when i told the owner that we'd need the grand room for a birthday party coming up, he put us down on the books and even though i wasn't able to be there (since i live in NYC)- i saw many photos from the party and it seemed like they all enjoyed their time! love it! read more

I feel like a majority of my year has been spent on going out for karaoke on the weekends. I just can't seem to get enough of it. I'd definitely have to say that Big Bang Karaoke is tied with Rock Box for my favorite karaoke spot. Although it's not as 'trendy' as Rock Box, the rooms are pretty comfortable and the decor is simple. I wasn't there to stare at the walls though. One thing to note though is that as soon as song starts, the lights dim and there are all these dynamic lights going off, making the singing experience more spectacular. The library of songs is pretty decent, however, the group I was with didn't adamantly look for new hits. The biggest shocking moment was that they had some Eurobeat songs in their library! You can bet we sang those Initial D hits as loud as we could. I think the only thing that would make this place even better is if there was some kind of electric fan in the room. It gets pretty hot when you're rocking out with a group of friends. I'll definitely be returning to this place when I need a karaoke fix but don't feel like driving to Capitol Hill. read more

This place was near perfect for some low-key karaoke. The atmosphere and chairs aren't the best I've seen--but the facility is clean and has a good vibe. The light up tambourines turned out to be the secret gem of the night. The English song selection is actually VERY broad. I felt like we could have looked through the book for an hour trying to decide- especially since the songs are listed by their title and not by artist. They allow outside food in, which is a nice plus. But no outside drinks--not even water. But the price of drinks is low at the front of the facility. This place is not a bar--though they do sell some beers. The part I really appreciated is that they do allow minors- a ton of karaoke places do not. Operating the TV and Remote for song selection was pretty easy with the English translation card. The location is good, especially if you don't feel like trekking into downtown. THE MEH NEWS: The room gets hot with so many people in it--so you have to go to the front to ask the attendant to raise the AC, which seemed to help, but only after 20 or so minutes of it feeling like sweat box. It would have been nice if we didn't have to ask at all. I would also suggest they offer more than one book in a room with 7 and up people--we had to take turns looking through the book. The BAD NEWS: The price was steep- $35 an hour for a medium sized room on a THURSDAY night- we had eight people with us. I felt like this should have been discounted since this was a week night and the place was empty. Out of the 8 or so rooms only two-three (including ours) were occupied. This is probably one of the best private karaoke places I've ever been to. Other than not having much of an alcohol selection, the rooms were super clean and the song selection was quite impressive. Fun at first, but way over priced for the limited services provided. No actual servers in the room and food is only available from a place next door. My group was over charged for the time we spent there and were also billed for beverages we didn't have and yet no itemized receipt could be provided to show how the costs were incurred. Will not be back. read more
