The only thing I didn't enjoy we're the bros walking by with no masks from the marina, but I wouldn't fault Ballast Point for that, they're doing their best in these difficult times and the staff were quite helpful, friendly, and professional. read more

Love Ballast Points new location in Long Beach, I no longer need to drive down to San Diego to visit Ballast Point. Love the atmosphere, the many varieties of beer and the food is always delicious. Only issue is the parking. If you visit on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday you might want to park over by the crab pot and get some exercise. read more

We went to the Ballast Point Brewery in Long Beach for a friends birthday not long ago. Now we love craft beer, but for the most part won't pay the very high price for Ballast Points bottled beer sold in stores. We don't feel that the beer is that good that it is worth that price. To really sample their beer and at a reasonable price you need to visit one of their breweries and restaurants. Their location in Long Beach is beautiful and very, very crowded. If you can find a seat, the view of the harbor is great. We were there drinking and eating for about eight hours and really enjoyed ourselves. Here they sell beer that is not sold in the stores and you can really sample what Ballast Point has to offer. I don't really like when breweries combine with restaurants. I am really only going for the beer since in most cases the food is just average and over priced. Still, if you are in the area of a Ballast Point in Long Beach, Temecula or San Diego, I would recommend you visit to try their beer. read more

I came yesterday and loved it! Each worker that I got to interact with was super nice. Our beer and food arrived in a timely manner, which was great. We got the steak nachos, fish tacos, and ahi poke. I recommend the steak nachos and fish tacos, but poke not so much. This was our first time here. Horrible experience. There is no check-in system whatsoever. You have to find your own seats and tables. Coming here with a group is a crazy idea. People just stand around wherever they feel like it. Lines at every bar for drinks and food. I'm not even sure if there are any wait staff taking orders at tables. It was just utter chaos. I would not recommend this place to anyone! Although the location is great and the decor is nice and new, it's a shame the place looks so disorganized and somewhat dirty already. read more

Absolutely amazing! Whether it's the views of the ocean, the drinks, the atmosphere, the food, and oh, the service! Probably the best service I have gotten in a long time. When you come, be sure to get Brandon. He is by far the best server. I know it seems strange coming from someone being here for the first time, but the passion and warmth he has for his guests are just phenomenal. I will definitely be back here plenty more times! Omg !! Went here for a very special night and loved it the view is amazing and it's on the water. It is self seating so that's about the only bad thing I can say about this place. The beer options are great I had a pineapple beer and it was beyond what I expected. They are super busy but make up work it with plenty of staff,all super friendly. I will say we had a few things off the menu but the number one thing I LOVED ( yes I capitalized that) the Lemmon pepper wings were AMAZING!! I've given it 4 tries now, each time w new disappointments. Ive never written a bad review but sorry this place needs a reality check! The view is incredible, just a perfect SoCal locale! Hosts have always been very sweet. Food is okay, kinda pricy for bar food but whatever it works. Problem is for not having a real server it IS pricy. I love their beer and the ambience is great so I keep going back but yest was the last straw. First, It's really annoying to wait in line for a drink & food, then grab silverware, napkins, condiments, my order number holder/pole thing, aaaand hold my beer...then walk around hunting for a table. Sometimes you can't find a table so you stand there holding all your crap and wait to pounce on one. Their system is messed up, it's really arrogant! Has any customer ever said "wow I just love waiting in line and not having a server" ...I seriously doubt it. Bartenders r hit or miss on attitude. First visit a guy at the front bar was awesome! Next time back, girl at bar by patio (after I stood in line for literally 10 mins) says to "they'll be right with you, my shift is over." WHO SAYS THAT?! Next trip, my husband & I got lucky, we found seats at the bar, right next to he register, only one person In line.. sweet! Nope, bartender told us "you need to get in line". Wait what!?!!? We started laughing outa pure disbelief. Jerk! So we went upstairs to order food. My husband ordered an chzburger & asked to pls add tomato. Bartender says "no dude it is what it is". What a snotty disrespectful little shit! A lotta dif ways u can say no... "dude"! Another laughable moment. Such a cool place with infinite potential but I'm done being treated like shit. Great place with awesome view of the marina but the area with the view is open seating! If you're bringing older guests who can't stand for awhile I'd put your name in for a table in the indoor area. Very noisy, perfect for friends and parties however not for my grandma :( I still would come back though, staff was very friendly and accommodating. read more

Wild West. This place is a giant bar with zero hosting/waiter/waitress service, seating is absolutely open. Good luck coming in with a large group and expecting to have anywhere to sit. Zero waiter/waitress service means you have to order at the bar, 100% at the bar. You get a number, food gets brought to your table. I'm currently here guarding the seats for my party and eyeing a chance to get up to order a beer as to not lose my seats, too much of a hassle. They have an area you can reserve for 15+ people. Though the beer is popular and many of the food options are quite tasty, I don't bother coming here. Even as a LB local, going to Ballast Point is a hassle. First, there are no reservations, so unless you come when it opens or you don't mind walking around and waiting for an hour or two for a seat, go to a chill dive bar instead. Also, the truffle fries are a joke. They put this "powder" on time that is suppose to taste like truffle oil, but you just end up inhaling dust. Go to The Yard House for decent truffle fries. I never recommend going here to friends that don't live in LB. read more

This is the brewery that was purchased by Constellation Brands for $1 billion. It's by all means not a micro brewery, and some say they sold out, which in the mindset of micro-brewers makes their slogan a little ironic - "stick to the craft" ....Anyways, we came here because I love visiting breweries and haven't been here before. We came on an early Sunday morning, and while this big brewery has many tables and a massive four-sided bar, the seats fill up QUICKLY. We opted to sit outside which was sort of a mistake because most of the tables outside have zero shade, so sit inside. We wanted a flight of beers but they are so busy and crowded that all of their flight glasses were being washed. I tried their Nitro Red Velvet and I suggest you pass on that as it tastes identical to a Budweiser with that tin flavor after taste. (Maybe its the beets in that beer? but I tasted no chocolate which is supposedly the other key ingredient in that). I tried to get one of their darker stouts as well and, this big big over-crowded brewery hit strike two - they were sold out. So all in all I their Comodore raisin beer is ok, but not really impressed with anything else. They should take the advice of their slogan and stick to the craft to make really really high quality beers (Like Bottle Logic in Placentia). read more

Came here with some family for the holidays (Christmas Eve Eve) and had a great time. The atmosphere was great and the drinks were even better! My family had some issues with navigating the huge menu but our servers Davey & Emily were amazing!! They offered their opinion on drinks and helped us to narrow down our choices by figuring out what tastes we like and what beers were similar to this. Davey was such a helpful and cool guy (love his glasses) and he really contributed to the atmosphere and made my family feel confident with their drink choices. Emily brought everything out extremely quickly and didn't hesitate to ask us how everything was and continued to checked on us throughout the night to see if we needed any refills or bites to eat. Quite often in OC servers give off a superficial and unhelpful attitude where it seems like they're doing you a huge favor by helping you out; however, Davey and Emily really went above and beyond and made us feel extremely comfortable and as if they truly cared about us and our experience. Not sure how long they both have been around, but BP definitely needs to hold onto these unique individuals who embody a great customer experience and will keep people coming back! The mens bathrooms closest to the entrance door were a bit dirty with water (pee?) on the floor of the toilet, but just because people have bad aim, it doesn't take away from a great atmosphere and great night. read more

I give them 2 stars due to the lack of customer service. Right off the bat when you place your order, a 20% gratuity is added to the bill. You do not have a dedicated server so it's kinda just flag someone down if you need something. When o got my food, no napkins or utensils. I ordered bacon with my burger which was an up charge, and when I told one of the servers that I didn't get my bacon, they said ok I will be right back. Never returned! When I asked for a to go box, they said sure, I'll be right back, never returned. Since they already got their 20% gratuity up front, feels like they just go through the motions, give you your food and that's it. read more

I was very excited to check this place out bc of the famous grapefruit sculpin ipa .. We spent like 30 mins looking for parking... then waited in line to order beer. I ended up going for the pineapple sculpin.. (should have gone with the grapefruit). We also tried the peach kolch that it was more like Peach Jello tasting with a hoppy after taste --weird for being a kolch. We tried to order food with our beer but the girl at the first bar told us that in order to order food, you have to have a table .. so we went looking for a table for another 25 minutes. Finally somebody left and we took a table on the second floor where there were more people waiting for a table as well .. then nobody came to take our order or buss our table so we did it ourselves and put the dirty dishes on top of the empty barrels they have by the windows. Then we went to the bar to order our food bc apparently there's no table service. That I'm ok with, but at least let us know. We ordered buffalo wings and steak nachos. They showed up 25 mins later. The wings were cold and dry.. and the nachos had cold, congealed cheese on top and barely a few pieces of steak... The food runner girl (can't call her a sever or waitress) bc she just dropped our cold food off with no napkins or utensils.. I was really disappointed bc I wanted to try this place for the longest time... it's a great location, great atmosphere but the service and food is not good and overpriced. This is such an amazing spot in Long Beach! I was surprised at the amount of people here! The service in such a large space is even incredible. One particular server, Amber, who always had a smile on her face, is more knowledgeable about beer then anyone Ive met. She has a way of making you feel at home, yet wanting to try something new and exciting with her amazing suggestions. Her enthusiasm, and overall service have literally promoted this yelp review!
