Another Gems In The LBC, Great mixologist Inside is dark , watch where you are walking. Bu t, what a great place to chilled and listen to live music. Service was on point, I would definitely good back for the fish sandwich and wings delicious . Chef Joe is top tier.

Round 1. I forgot the names of the drinks I had that evening but they were pretty good.

After dinner, my bestie and I decided to grab some drinks at the infamous Bamboo Club, located near Anaheim St. & Redondo Ave. I've passed this place a million times and never thought to give it a shot until our recent visit. The vibe is nice, and the atmosphere is very cute, although I found it to be a little too dim inside. The service was great; however, I wish it had been a little speedier. I didn't know they offered food here until the server mentioned getting us started with appetizers. Maybe next time, I'll order a small bite alongside my drink. The drinks were aesthetically pleasing and equally good! I had never been to a tiki-themed bar prior to this, so I really enjoyed my visit, especially since I love tiki drinks. Overall, I'd definitely return for a fun night out!

Fantastic drinks and food. The tiki drink menu is huge! The staff seemed happy to be there and eager to serve. Quite spacious inside with indoor and outdoor seating.

Lots of food and drink options, so you're sure to find something you will want to try! They have wonderful live music, seemingly very often! Service seemed to try to rush customers I believe due to reservations? I have to mention that the Zombie drink is strong. Our lovely waitress compared it to a long island! I organized two group outings to the Bamboo Club recently and both groups had a great time. The staff were welcoming and made our experiences positive. Happy hour is all day Monday and Tuesday, Wed-Fri 3-6 pm, and Tuesday also has Taco specials. On my first visit I tried the Singapore Sling, wings, ahi tacos, and bread pudding. The singapore sling was very good. The chicken wings were large, juicy, and well sauced. The tacos were good, but the soft taco shells were a bit stale. The bread pudding was enough to split among our group and was ok but not great. On my second visit I had the Bye Bye Ladies (my favorite of the three drinks I tried), Thai Me a River, Roll-Subi, and Crispy Chicken Sandwich. The chicken sandwich was great and you have a choice of side. I selected the thai chicken salad as a side, which was tasty. The inside is quite dark, but has a fun tiki vibe. There is also a nice patio for outdoor seating.

Bamboo Club is such a great spot if you're looking for a fun, laid-back night out. The overall vibe is super chill, no need to dress up fancy, just come as you are and enjoy yourself. The crowd is always good, which really adds to the experience. The drinks are solid and definitely worth it, with prices ranging from about $14 to $26. The punch bowl is a standout at $26 and perfect for sharing. The bar and seating area are a bit on the darker side, but it actually adds to the cozy, relaxed atmosphere. The restroom is on the smaller side, but the main space itself feels open enough to hang out comfortably. Parking is limited in their lot, but there's usually street parking nearby, so it's manageable. Overall, Bamboo Club delivers great drinks, a fun crowd, and easygoing vibes, definitely a five-star spot for a casual night out!

So happy we decided to stop in for a drink and some grub on our way back from the Long Beach Pow Wow--what an absolute treat. I love a good tiki bar, and this one is definitely up there in the ranks. From the moment you walk in, it's clear they've committed fully to the theme. Every corner is thoughtfully designed, from the dim, moody lighting and glowing red fireplace to the layered textures, bamboo details, and playful island décor. It really feels like you've been transported somewhere far away. There's also a great mix of indoor and outdoor seating--the patio is sunny and relaxed during the day, while the inside leans into that cozy, escapist tiki vibe at night. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful, which made the experience even better. And as someone who eats vegan, I really appreciated that they actually have options. That's not always the case with tiki spots, so it definitely stood out. For drinks, I had two Painkillers--and as the name suggests, I left feeling no pain. Smooth, tropical, and dangerously easy to sip. Presentation was also on point, with beautiful garnishes that matched the whole aesthetic. Food-wise, I ordered the Impossible burger without cheese. It was good, though not quite great. Next time, I'd probably ask for it cooked a bit longer and go lighter on the Thousand Island-style sauce, which was a bit overpowering. That said, the fries were perfectly cooked--crispy on the outside, fluffy inside--and the vegan egg roll appetizer was a standout. Seriously delicious and a must-order. Another big plus: there's a free parking lot attached, which made stopping in super easy. All in all, this spot nails the atmosphere, delivers solid drinks, and offers thoughtful vegan options. We'll definitely be back.

this place definitely has a fun vibe, as they really nailed the tiki aesthetic. i stopped by for a friend's birthday and had a quick drink and some food. i can't say i'm at bars often, but for one of my limited experiences, it was a pretty fun time. we were seated outside, and it ended up being comfortable. they had heaters set up, which i appreciated since it can get chilly. i ordered a mocktail that was pretty good, like a virgin piña colada but with orange instead of coconut since i'm not the biggest coconut gal. service-wise, it felt a little mixed. the server gave me a bit of a look when i ordered the mocktail to sub coconut with orange, which made me feel a little embarrassed, and it also seemed like things got a bit overwhelmed because i was initially brought an alcoholic drink and had to remind them i'd ordered non-alcoholic. i also tried the ahi poke, which was mostly delicious, but i think there may have been cilantro in it even though it wasn't listed, so i ended up not finishing it. despite the small mishaps, overall, it seems to be a fun spot to hang out with friends, especially for the atmosphere. i'd probably come back to try a couple of other things if i'm in the mood for that kind of bar scene.

Came here for a few cocktails during the day and enjoyed the vibe! It's a chill bar in the Long Beach area with food also available. We ended up getting a Mai Tai and a few other drinks. The Mai Tai was made well and not too sweet. They also have merchandise available too. Since we came earlier in the day it wasn't crowded but they have a DJ booth which I'd assume would make nights here popular.

A really solid spot for some fun Tikki drinks, I really liked the bowl! The service was super great, and the ambiance is very charming with the full on Tikki vibes.

Coolest spot for a quick drink and eats. Love the vibes and some nights they have a live DJ . The drinks were really good and the spam masubi was so good too :) Definitely coming back to this little spot

This is definitely a spot to check out. Cool vibes on a Thursday night with live dj playing. The bartenders were on point and the food was also on point. Definitely coming back and coming during happy hour because they a have great happy hour menu.

The Bamboo Club is special. Hands down worth the trip if you are anywhere near OC or LA, this place is a must! Staff is super friendly and helpful, tiki vibes are on point and you really feel like you are on your own piece of island. We came by for the brunch on the weekend, and the food was fresh, made to order and super tasty. Obviously the tiki drinks are always on point, typically strong and made with aloha! This is by far our go-to tiki place in Long Beach, it's extremely clean and it always makes for a very special time. The Bamboo Club is an outstanding tiki bar, and I really wish they had their own tiki mug to sell because they have center piece waiting on our shelf! We did however buy an anniversary tall glass that will do for now, but we just love our tiki mugs and love the Bamboo Club so much. We can't wait to go back! Mahalo Bamboo Club for being the best!!

Ive called severaltimes and no one answers. Does anyone know what time they stop serving food?

Sunday through Weds we stop serving food at 10pm and Thurs through Sat 11pm

Where is it safe to park if their lot is full?

Side street adjacent to the bar is safe. I've parked there many times. The problem is like most of Long Beach, parking is a premium.

Can i buy the creme brûlée to go?

I honestly don't know. But I think you could. We didn't order the crème brûlée so I am not sure of the answer. Sorry.

Can teenagers go with their friends without parent supervision?

They might they have sit down booths in separate section.

    Is it 21+ only?

Nope. Went with my 17 year old just last month.

What time does it usually get packed on Saturday?

4/5pm for dinner. Then 8pm for drinks/music crowd.

    Are there gluten free options?

I"m gonna say yes, because a younger gay couple recommended it to me - it's one of their regular places to go.

Do they allow kids or babies?

Of course! Kids are allowed until 9pm Daily.

Do they watch sports games here?

I don't think so but you could always check it's more about Tiki and music

Do you require vax cards to dine in?

    No.

What cocktail drinks are available in the can? Is it limited quantity per day? I went to order today (first time there), and was disappointed to hear that there were only four cocktail options for to-go.

Mai Tai, Navy Grog, Painkiller, Zombie at the moment. You can get updated info at https://www.toasttab.com/the-bamboo-club-long-beach/v3/ or by going to their Instagram and clicking on the "Order Food" button (only works in IG app and not in… Read more

We parked in the multi-story parking garage behind Hamburger Mary's. Secret Island is a little over a block away. You can make reservations on OpenTable. It has a bit of a speakeasy entrance, as it is not plainly marked. Look for the staircase going down with greenery around it and the Secret Island sign downstairs. Go right at the bottom of the stairs and there is a little walkway where you see a very cool tiki display. It you stay there long enough, the lights will flash and you will hear thunder. Walk a little further and go through the door to enter. I was blown away by the atmosphere and build. Kudos to Bamboo Ben! It is dimly lit with a ton of cave wall, bamboo, thatch, netting, tiki lights, floats, skulls, tikis, and other décor. The bar is loaded with bottles and looks great with dark blue and green backlighting. The bar top is wood with deep cutouts that are filled with clear epoxy. The booths in the main dining area are little tiki huts and even have clouds overhead. There was great tiki music playing the whole time. A few times an hour a thunderstorm hits. The lights dim, lightning flashes with thunder sound effects, and red lights illuminate cracks in the floor that looks like lava veins. There is also a photo-op "Pele's Throne" which is a big lava rock surrounded chair. We sat at the bar and had the coconut shrimp appetizer ($12). The shrimp were breaded and cooked well, and had a coconut sprinkle on top. The spicy dipping sauce complemented the shrimp well. I started out with the Drunken Monkey (Makers Mark 46, Jamaican rum, banana liqueur, cinnamon, allspice, Angostura bitters, normally $19, $17 during happy hour). It was somewhat bourbon forward with a little funk from the Jamaican rum. I definitely got the cinnamon notes with a little banana and allspice in the background. She started out with the El Capitan Hook (Del Maguey mezcal, pineapple, banana liqueur, Luxardo cherry liqueur, lime, $17, $15 during happy hour). This was smoke forward with light pineapple and banana flavor. I had the Hula burger ($18) which was very good with a lot of different flavors from the various toppings. It came with a decent amount of fries, and was a filling plate. She had the pineapple bowl fried rice and added with BBQ pork ($17 + $5 for pork add-on). It is served in half of a scooped out pineapple and had a good amount of rice with pork and green onions on top. It had a good mix of teriyaki sauce on the rice and BBQ sauce on the pork. Next, I had the Rum Runner (coconut and blended dark rums, banana liqueur, raspberry, grenadine, pineapple, orange, lime, $18, $15 during happy hour). It was very pineapple and coconut forward which overpowered all of the other ingredients. She also had the Let That ManGo (white rhum agricole, coconut, mango, lemon, $18, $16 during happy hour). The primary flavors here were mango with some grassiness from the agricole. We were here from about 6pm to 8pm on a Wednesday night and it was pretty dead with only a few other people in the place the whole time. They do have a stage in the back with live music acts, so it is probably busier when there is entertainment and on weekends. Our first bartender was Alex who was nice but we barely talked with him. Manager Pedro took over the bartender duties later on and we had a great time chatting with him. Service was great from both of them. The drinks are a few dollars above average, but if you come during happy hour, the drinks are several dollars off. Happy hour is currently all day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, and Thursday through Saturday from 5pm to 8pm. The food was good, the drinks were ok to good, and the atmosphere was great. Normally, this would probably be a one and done, but I really liked the build and would like to come back when it is busier, maybe on a weekend.

Meaning, we were spending time together and just moving through the interaction, like clothes in a spin cycle. But going here made our time together mean something more because we had arrived at a space that elevated our mood and spirits. So we were now feeling the suds and splashes of the movement not just in the monotony of the spin. As we entered, I felt like the place was a Chinese Market but indoors. I have never bene to China (I have yet to die so maybe one day my feet will have the chance to step the Great Wall) but I feel like their street vendors would have stands like the seating motif within the main room of this joint. The place was not packed but there was no space within the wooden booths for Conrad and I. I asked for options, and they showed me two different rooms. The first room was the Hao Pen You room which was heavilty yet beautifully decorated with varying red lanterns in the ceiling. Additionally, there was a paper dragon hanging in the ceiling, swimming in the air amidst the lanterns. The host ushered me in, and milaseconds after I felt a quick sense of awe. Not like the one I felt one I saw the Sisteen Chappel, but one that compelled me to snap quick photos of the aerial view. The host understood. She stopped her explanation to give me the space to feel my wow that was delivered in a red envelope. I eventually decided to sit in this room, so there is more detail that I can deliver, but before I do, I did request to see the other room of the house. So we crossed the room with the wooden booths and stepped into an immersive Tiki Bar that gave shipwreck vibes. Like the survivors of shipwreck took what they could from the boat's carcass, and made a great bar in the beach that glowed with the light of jellyfish and had seaweed on the ceiling as decoration that was not stale like mistletoe on a doorway. When Conrad and I sat in the Hao Pen You room, we learned that it was a quasi speak easy. According to history, in the 1800's it was common for Chinese immigrants to visit gambling and opium dens behind laundry rooms to find a space that they could call their own and escape discrimination. I am sure that dens of the past did not have the blazing style of the room I was sitting in, but I did appreciate learning about the history that inspired the room. Only because the pain of the past was reshaped to honor a culture in theatrical and edgy red. Plus, as one of my pictures show, the dragon's face and laser lit eyes, made it seem like a real creature born to this earth, not one simply reserved for myth and Game of Throne episodes. I appreciated the immersive trip to Chinese's lore and history. The reason why I did not give this place 5 stars, was the food. The food in general was (maybe tragically) basic. Conrad did not confirm this fact until we were outside the restaurant. I asked him why did he not share his feelings with our server when she asked? He explained why would he, she did not cook the food, and she could not do anything? And I am from the camp, where honesty matters but I guess it might only matter to me? He might be right what does honest feedback do for a server? Conrad might have been practicing "restaurant politeness" like keep the situation civil because if one becomes a demanding patron or eater then one breaks the social contract and becomes rude. Specifically, Conrad and I had the Vegan Dumplings, the pork buns, and rice wrapped in leaves. And even though we had different bites, and each one had their own flavor profile at the end I can only describe each bite as basic. That is my opinion, and I stand by it, as I should, as every one should. Perhaps this restaurant owns this identity. This might be a place that offers theatrical atmosphere, great drinks, vibes that make a Tuesday special, but their food might be the area that remains standard, and in the final score card the servers of the joint might be ok with that.

Definitely worth it! The vibes are unmatched. It's a unique blend of "top notch cocktail crafting" and "beer and a hot pretzel after work." You can dress up, you can dress down, it's very 'just be yourself' which I love. I've literally had caviar AND hot dogs there in the same night at an event. They know how to blend high/low. Incredible knowledge and ingredients but not snooty patootie. Super inclusive and fun, with cool popups and events happening all the time. It's a full bar so you can get any cocktail you would normally order if you're keeping it simple, or beer, wine, boilermakers, etc. There's a span of offerings and price points, so something for everyone. It's clear the owners put a lot of thought and creativity into making their cocktails the centerpiece of the experience. That said, the execution didn't live up to the concept. The menu appears to rotate regularly, and while the drinks were certainly unique, most of the cocktails we tried were hit or miss. At roughly $22 per drink, I expected more balance and refinement. One cocktail started with flavors reminiscent of an Old Fashioned, but after the initial sip, the combination of bitters and fruit syrups created an unpleasant cough syrup like finish. We tried a mocktail as well, and it was mostly ice and soda water, with what seemed like a collection of syrups doing most of the heavy lifting. The drinks were creative, but many of the flavor profiles felt disjointed rather than intentional. The biggest issue, however, was the bar service and sanitation practices. I watched a bartender place a cucumber garnish into a glass using his bare hands, touching the entire garnish in the process. He then continued to take credit cards, cash, and other items before stuffing ice into additional drinks with his bare hands. Whether or not this technically violates health code standards, it certainly wasn't appetizing to watch and left a poor impression. Parking is another challenge. There is no dedicated parking, and unless you get lucky, expect to park several blocks away and walk. Overall, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the cocktail menu is ambitious, but the drinks didn't justify the price point, and the sanitation concerns were hard to overlook. I wouldn't rush back, especially given the cost and parking difficulties.

It's a tiki bar, but the menu (see attached) confused me on that, and the decor is not quite tiki. Nevertheless, the drinks were good. It is described a…read moreCreature from the Black Lagoon inspired room, but it also has some tiki décor so we stopped by to check it out after visiting another nearby tiki bar. The Lagoon has a speakeasy style entrance. Once you enter Midnight Oil, walk towards the end of the bar and look for a wooden mask on the door. Push on the left side of the door, and you will enter The Lagoon. This is definitely a small room with eight seats at the bar, three seats against each wall, and a long narrow table in the middle. Creature from the Black Lagoon décor includes some artwork and figures, and lots of greenery on the walls. Tiki décor includes various lamps, puffer fish, ropes, netting, and coconuts. There is also some leftover décor from the "Roadkill" pop-up they had in the room last year. We stopped by at 8pm on a Wednesday night, and we were the only ones in the room for our 30 minute visit which is always a little strange. We sat at the bar and scanned the QR code to look at the menu. The cocktail menu is very small with only seven cocktails, three frozen cocktails, and one mocktail. There are also around a dozen food items and a dim sum menu. I had the Monkey Delight cocktail (Hamilton 86 rum, Amontillado Sherry, Kin-a-Peel banana, lemon, $14). It was very boozy with a very light banana flavor. She had the Mexican Pharmacy cocktail (Tequila 1800 Coconut, Tequila 1800 Blanco, Pineapple, Coconut, Orange, $14). This was really good with a nice mix of coconut and pineapple flavor. I wouldn't have guessed it was a tequila cocktail. The drinks are reasonably priced at $13 to $15 with only the Old Fashioned costing $17. The food items are also reasonably priced, but we ate earlier in the evening. I didn't catch her name, but our bartender who was going back and forth between The Lagoon and The Apothecary was friendly and checked on us often. It was cool to stop by and check it out, but the room and drink menu are very small, so I don't see us coming back.

Every single time I needed something, whether it was to order or ask for the check, I had to go up to the bar when my server was there to ask cuz I already waited hella. She was super nice so no complaints in that regards, just not good at checking in with our table at all. Even getting a menu took forever. Idk if it's cuz they're short staffed but the service def needs to be improved. The poke was well seasoned and fish was fresh. Great shareable item. I would come back again cuz I liked my friends drinks that I tried (def would not get the lavender yuzu martini again), the food, and the outdoor seating vibes. Docking stars for service and cuz how bad my martini tasted. Hopefully it's a better overall experience next time.

If you prefer inside seating, then they had a large bar and a couple tables in side with open windows. They're also part of Ola Kitchen, so you can use their restrooms. When ordering food, they will automatically bring out complimentary chips and salsa. If you order drinks only, then you will have to ask for it. They had a great variety of drinks, but some where too sweet for me like the Strawberry Jalapeno Margarita. The bourbon smash seemed the most well balanced and refreshing. My espresso martini was strong, no complaints here. The outdoor ambiance was lovely for a weekend afternoon. There was plenty of tables available at noon on Saturday. I would try their sister restaurant Ola before returning here.

What a beautiful surprise, as we stepped inside of this gorgeous restaurant! The entrance and winding path easily had me at hello! Miso Greens Salad | I'm a salad girl and this is definitely a memorable bite! Between the juicy slices of mango, crispy wontons strips, red pepper, tangy miso dressing and more... I was craving each bite one after the other with the quickness! Haha! Every single bite and I'm not kidding, was absolutely delicious, bursting with flavor, & mouth watering! I would 100% get the salad again and highly recommend it! Decor | Beautiful! What a stunning restaurant! I found myself looking around constantly! The lighting, presence of Buddhas sprinkled throughout, cozy seating with colorful pillows, wood interior, the colorful lighting... and don't even get me started on the gorgeous waterfront views! Tantalum easily transports your senses to Indonesia via food and atmosphere! I'm all for it and loved every moment of it! Customer Service | Irma was incredibly friendly and helpful with the menu! Thanks again for helping me decide between the heirloom tomato salad and the miso green salad; tried something new! Overall | Yes, please! If a single salad was so memorable, I can only imagine a full meal! I'm looking forward to exploring more of the menu on my next visit! Let's go!

The most recent visit was to meet some biz associates to enjoy entrees & apps. We shared calamari ($24), mussels ($23), fried rice ($30), fries ($7), and a couple of 18 oz bone-in ribeyes ($68/each) [sorry, not all items puctured]. My crew of five (including me), liked the calamari and steak & fries. The calamari was tender, the steaks were grilled medium rare, and the fries were GBD. However, the shrimp in the rice and the mussels were not fresh. Luckily, no one got sick later. Regarding the ambiance, its spacious in here. However, the amount of people seemed light on a Fri night around 6-7 pm. Our waiter Jason and the rest of the team were super nice & attentive. We received fresh plates and steak knives (we ordered a second steak later during the meal). I'd return for a good time w/ a large group. The place accommodates big parties well, and the service is really good. Nonetheless, keep in mind the food is hit & miss, and the prices are on the high side.

What we didn't expect, but absolutely loved, was their R&B brunch experience. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was lively, fun, and full of energy. The music completely elevated the atmosphere. The DJ not only had an incredible voice but truly knew how to engage and hype up the crowd, making the whole experience feel like more than just a meal. The location itself is beautiful with trendy and upscale decor. Very picturesque. As for the food, I ordered the Maui French toast, and it was phenomenal. It is not your typical French toast--it had a crispy churro crust and this unique whipped cream, the flavor and presentation really stood out. Sweet, rich, and perfectly prepared, it's something I've never had before and would absolutely order again. Overall, this was such a pleasant surprise. Great food, great music, great service, and a good vibey brunch experience. I have another trip to Long Beach in June and will be back to enjoy it again.
