Booked res for 2 PM Sat. celebration lunch with sis from out of town & niece graduating college. Tried calling to say we we were running a few minutes late, but phone was busy for 20 minutes straight. Fortunately, table was still available- kudos for that! Place was packed- so thought that was a good sign & thought food would be great. Ordered drinks, oysters, bacon-wrapped scallops, salmon & chicken piccata. Oysters & scallops were not very fresh- strange for a beachside restaurant. The bacon was very burnt & hard compared to the scallops, like maybe it was leftover from the breakfast rush. Maybe Beach House is better for breakfast or lunch. Sis & niece thought the salmon & chicken were pretty good-hope they weren't just being polite! Overall ambiance is nice since it is on the beach. This restaurant is excellent. I went here for dinner and the atmosphere is lively with music playing and sometimes a live singer. Some parts of the restaurant is outdoor. The service was really fast and came in one. I ordered a burger and it was the best burger ive had since I moved to seal beach. I definitely recommend this place. read more

This isn't a place I would've tried on my own but came here to meet up with couple of coworkers. The food is typical diner style food, but wasn't too bad. I think the breakfast items might be better than the lunch/dinner items. Please note that breakfast items are only served until 11:45 a.m. On my first visit I tried Top Sirloin Steak & Eggs. I ordered it medium rare and was cooked perfectly. Steak was seasoned well and was quite tasty. I had a good first visit with my coworkers so came back again this weekend to try some of lunch items. The lunch items my family and I ordered weren't as good as I expected. Beach House Burger was just ok. It could've used more seasoning on the beef patty because it tasted rather bland. Burger had arugula, tomato, red onions, cheddar cheese, and some house sauce. Fish & Chips was good but tasted pretty standard. Skillet Corn Bread tasted ok but too dry, even with whipped butter and honey. Service has been good both times I was here, and the location is great because it's right by the beach. Patio area always seems to get packed because everyone wants to get a view of the beach, but you can still get a decent view from the inside. I will definitely return but will stick with breakfast items in the future. There is a paid parking lot right by the restaurant, which is currently $3 per hour, but you can find street parking in the nearby residential area. Just make sure you pay attention to parking signs. Most of them have 1 hour limit, which isn't long enough to dine here. read more

Open until 10 pm. NOPE. NOT TODAY. NO NOTICE BUT THEY CLOSED @ 4pm. Really disappointed. We pulled into the parking lot at 405 pm Thursday April 23. It was a beautiful warm Spring day (73 degrees) and we were excited to eat with the great ocean view from The Beach House Seal Beach. Paid for 2 hours of parking and walked over to the restaurant. It was only when we entered the gate where the hostess is that we saw a small sign that said, "Closed." WAIT WHAT???? No indication in the parking lot, no sign at the sidewalk, no sign walking down the walk way. The ONLY notice was buried around a corner saying Closed. We were told they were short staffed and had to close early, sorry. As we walked back to the car, we stopped at least 4 other cars and told them the restaurant was closed. We were able to alert them so they did not pay for parking at a CLOSED restaurant. It felt like the restaurant had NO consideration for the customers. To have NO sign anywhere near where customers would be parking to notify us of a totally unexpected, unanticipated, highly unusual CLOSING at 4 pm for a restaurant that was supposed to be open until 10 pm!!!!! So I called from my car in the parking lot and asked to speak to the manager. When the manager got on he explained that they were short staffed and had to close early. I discussed the lack of notice to customers and how we paid for 2 hours of beach parking. Manager was nice and polite and totally unresponsive to the fact we paid money to visit his restaurant and now had no where to eat and were out the parking fees. I recommended they post a notice where customers could see they were closed BEFORE we paid for our parking. He said they would do it after they finished closing out. I insisted it was only fair that they notified their customers FIRST. So, as we were leaving we saw an employee come out and post a sign. I took a photo because no one would believe how inadequate their posting was if I just described it. The sign is micro small. You can see our car at the bottom of the photo. Came here over the weekend for breakfast and it was a great experience. I like how you can make reservations online and we opted for the "sand bar" seating which was directly facing the beach and ocean. Beautiful views all around. We were lucky as our seats was covered by an umbrella and in the shade - others with sand bar seating not so much. I'm glad it's under new ownership as now the prices are much affordable than before. Breakfast items are $15-20...which is a steal when seated right on the sand. I got the breakfast burrito with sausage. This burrito was OK. The salsa was good, however, everything mixed together just OK. It needed some kind of sauce or something in the burrito. My friend had the loco mocco and thought the same thing. It was good but just eh. We've clearly had both of these breakfast items at other places that were better, but was the views this good? I don't think so. I would say 5 stars for the views and vibes and maybe 4 stars for the food. Our server was really friendly and food came out promptly. First time here. We missed breakfast, it's only offered til 1145am. Wish they had some breakfast items they serve the whole day :(. The server was full of smiles and was very attentive, very nice. I gave them a 3 because the server was great, I would downgrade the 3 to a 2 if the service wasn't good. So I was very hungry when we got there, I'd been fasting since the night before and we ordered around 1pm. I ordered the jidori chicken salad. The salad was plain but did include arugula salad mix which I liked. Just cherry tomatoes, boiled egg and salad mix and chicken with ranch dressing. It was too plain for me, needed cucumbers at min, avocado and maybe some shredded cheese, croutons would have been a nice addition. The chicken was ok, was hoping it was cooked to order but was refrigerated and it tasted ok. We also ordered the steak bites and fried calamari as our appetizers. The steak bites were barely warm and very small, the pics on yelp made them seem like they were bigger bites and they were bland and the fried onions seemed like they were fried yesterday. I'd pass on these. The fried calamari, more batter than protein? I never thought I'd say the calamari was very bland almost like it was just batter without the calamari, it was a little shocking since this is an ocean side restaurant. Would skip this as well. The fish and chips, underwhelming. The cod was tough, the batter was ok. The French fries, now how can you get fries wrong? The fries were whatever, tasted old not freshly fried. The poke bowl looked pretty, the food looked pretty but the taste and portions was not up to par. The poke fish tasted too fishy, the mango, avocado, rice were fine and chips were good. The Bloody Mary tasted weird and needed more tomato juice for a savory flavoring. I drank it all because it was $16 and I didn't want to return anything. Again, ocean side venue and the seafood was not good. The cups used to serve soda were small not restaurant style large cups, not sure why, this is a miss entirely. Unfortunately, I will not be going back here for the food. The ambiance was ok, the bathroom was clean, plenty of parking and the sign said $3 an hour no more than $15 for the day. This place can be so much better, one, they should remodel and take down the front high seating counter which is the only area you can sit with an ocean view so if it's lowered and glass windows are placed you can see the ocean from the entire dining area outside. You don't have a clear view of the ocean which to me is a big miss. There is inside seating but lots of gnats flying around which I don't like. Sorry, I wish I can give a better score but I had high hopes and was very disappointed. Note: I did eat all of my salad because I was starving, and it was an ok salad. read more

Sorry for the 3 stars, but that's all it was worth yesterday. We came here for a 1:30 ouch, got seated rather quickly, but it took a while before the server took our drink order, was even longer to wait for the iced teas to show up. We ordered the ahi poke bowl, which my friend said was pretty good. I ordered the fish and chips, which was a huge mistake, greasy and a fishy smell, not fresh that's for sure. This is a hidden gem... I was greeted by a Server who said her name is MADDY she is so sweet and Kind sat me down and went over to a table of seniors who apparently our regulars she was fully engaged to their conversation and was so quick, sweet and kind. The location is right on the beach and we got to see the sunset. I called for a reservation but they don't do same day I guess. They told us just to come in and we got a seat. My daughter got the Salmon and said it was delicious. Only the broccoli was not cooked enough. I got the Flank Steak Salad and they cooked it perfectly. I've been here twice, once for a sunset dinner with my girlfriend and another time for my friend's engagement party. Her fiance rented out a big section on the patio for 35 people and it was perfect. The restaurant opens right onto the sand, so you're basically eating with an ocean view and sea breeze built in. Service was great both times: fast, friendly, and totally on top of things. Food and drinks came out quick and accurate, even with a big group. The food's solid. Not the star of the show, but definitely good enough to keep you happy while you watch the sunset. Had such a great evening at this establishment tonight. It was my sister's first time visiting and they loved it. The view of the sand, rocks, beach, and sunset made the ambience really special and created the perfect beachside atmosphere. I ordered the Wild Atlantic salmon and an espresso martini and both were excellent. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the espresso martini was one of the best I've had. Brian was our bartender and the service really stood out. Drinks were deliciously made, the energy at the bar was fun and welcoming. He made sure everything was very well taken care of throughout the night. Between the food, service, beautiful views, and the fact that it's pet friendly, it made for such a nice experience. There is a parking lot right there but you must pay as it is beach parking. It is an easy walk to two hour free parking off Main Street and possibly closer parking on the street that is for one hour. Came here for a concert, which was lovely, but we had a hard time getting attention from the servers. I understand it's a weekend and with the concert the place was super crowded, however, we had to call the servers multiple times and had to walk up to the bar to get our drinks. That said, this is a beautiful place. It is right on the sand! On a nice day it is gorgeous and you can see the ocean. The outdoor seating area is great; the glass wall will shield you from the winds without blocking your view of the beach and ocean. The inside is the place to go if you don't want the winds or the sun. Both the inside and the outside seating areas are pretty crowded, with tables and chairs pretty close to one another, but for a beach restaurant, this is probably expected We came here for the concert, so only order wine and beers, but we got some french fries for snacks and they were great. I heard they have life performances from time to time so this may be a good destination to enjoy some nice music, wine, food, and the beach. read more

Ate here two days in a row because it was so good. When was the last time you saw a ham steak that size, and it tasted as good as it looks. My wife insists this is the best avocado toast she has ever had. Diced avocado so you know what you are getting and the goat cheese absolutely made the dish spectacular! Service was great both days. Our first visit here and here's my experience. A restaurant by the ocean with great vibes and live music... 10/10. Food: We ordered the poke bowl and fish and chips. The fish and chips were good, but the poke bowl, in my opinion, needed more flavor. Here's the best part the service. I believe that when you have outstanding service, you almost forget about any flaws in the food! As I mentioned, our waiter, Adam, was excellent friendly, kind, and he even brought water for our dogs, which was a huge plus. We definitely recommend this place and will be back soon. read more

I just based on the location, right on the beach with the views of the ocean and the river right next to it. Love this place, perfect outdoor deck or patio that connected to inside seating, nice to chill or hangout with friends or family. But, 1st: parking is paid parking lot (you have to reload every 2hrs), 2nd: prices are not cheap - you pay for the view (and it almost worth it, yes there are better places but this is more of the neighborhood type), 3rd: portion is not big for the price...understandable but, just but!, 3rd, flavor wise - missing something, but eatable, 4th: services can be hit or miss but staff are nice and friendly so...overall, if you're in the area and lazy to go elsewhere and want to chill for a great sunset, come. read more
