I really like this place for the happy hour, this was my 3rd time coming and we brought a bigger group (9) in my reservation I noted that we needed shade (I recently had a procedure and was advised not to sit in direct sun) we were sat in direct full sun when I asked the host about it she said "it's too windy we can't put up anymore umbrellas" mind you, it really wasn't that windy and there were at least 10 other umbrellas already set up. We sat next to a table that had THREE umbrellas completely covering their table but my group couldn't even have 1. Then about 30 minutes later, I see them putting up additional umbrellas for the musicians. Either it's safe for umbrellas or it's not. It was the weirdest experience. This isn't a place I would've tried on my own but came here to meet up with couple of coworkers. The food is typical diner style food, but wasn't too bad. I think the breakfast items might be better than the lunch/dinner items. Please note that breakfast items are only served until 11:45 a.m. On my first visit I tried Top Sirloin Steak & Eggs. I ordered it medium rare and was cooked perfectly. Steak was seasoned well and was quite tasty. I had a good first visit with my coworkers so came back again this weekend to try some of lunch items. The lunch items my family and I ordered weren't as good as I expected. Beach House Burger was just ok. It could've used more seasoning on the beef patty because it tasted rather bland. Burger had arugula, tomato, red onions, cheddar cheese, and some house sauce. Fish & Chips was good but tasted pretty standard. Skillet Corn Bread tasted ok but too dry, even with whipped butter and honey. Service has been good both times I was here, and the location is great because it's right by the beach. Patio area always seems to get packed because everyone wants to get a view of the beach, but you can still get a decent view from the inside. I will definitely return but will stick with breakfast items in the future. There is a paid parking lot right by the restaurant, which is currently $3 per hour, but you can find street parking in the nearby residential area. Just make sure you pay attention to parking signs. Most of them have 1 hour limit, which isn't long enough to dine here. read more

Was looking for a nice spot on the water and boy were we not disappointed. Not only does this place have great ocean front seating but there's plenty of it. The staff was also super friendly and did not steer us wrong on food choices. We got a bottle for mimosas and then steak and eggs and the steak was cooked great which I'm always nervous about. Came here over the weekend for breakfast and it was a great experience. I like how you can make reservations online and we opted for the "sand bar" seating which was directly facing the beach and ocean. Beautiful views all around. We were lucky as our seats was covered by an umbrella and in the shade - others with sand bar seating not so much. I'm glad it's under new ownership as now the prices are much affordable than before. Breakfast items are $15-20...which is a steal when seated right on the sand. I got the breakfast burrito with sausage. This burrito was OK. The salsa was good, however, everything mixed together just OK. It needed some kind of sauce or something in the burrito. My friend had the loco mocco and thought the same thing. It was good but just eh. We've clearly had both of these breakfast items at other places that were better, but was the views this good? I don't think so. I would say 5 stars for the views and vibes and maybe 4 stars for the food. Our server was really friendly and food came out promptly. First time here. We missed breakfast, it's only offered til 1145am. Wish they had some breakfast items they serve the whole day :(. The server was full of smiles and was very attentive, very nice. I gave them a 3 because the server was great, I would downgrade the 3 to a 2 if the service wasn't good. So I was very hungry when we got there, I'd been fasting since the night before and we ordered around 1pm. I ordered the jidori chicken salad. The salad was plain but did include arugula salad mix which I liked. Just cherry tomatoes, boiled egg and salad mix and chicken with ranch dressing. It was too plain for me, needed cucumbers at min, avocado and maybe some shredded cheese, croutons would have been a nice addition. The chicken was ok, was hoping it was cooked to order but was refrigerated and it tasted ok. We also ordered the steak bites and fried calamari as our appetizers. The steak bites were barely warm and very small, the pics on yelp made them seem like they were bigger bites and they were bland and the fried onions seemed like they were fried yesterday. I'd pass on these. The fried calamari, more batter than protein? I never thought I'd say the calamari was very bland almost like it was just batter without the calamari, it was a little shocking since this is an ocean side restaurant. Would skip this as well. The fish and chips, underwhelming. The cod was tough, the batter was ok. The French fries, now how can you get fries wrong? The fries were whatever, tasted old not freshly fried. The poke bowl looked pretty, the food looked pretty but the taste and portions was not up to par. The poke fish tasted too fishy, the mango, avocado, rice were fine and chips were good. The Bloody Mary tasted weird and needed more tomato juice for a savory flavoring. I drank it all because it was $16 and I didn't want to return anything. Again, ocean side venue and the seafood was not good. The cups used to serve soda were small not restaurant style large cups, not sure why, this is a miss entirely. Unfortunately, I will not be going back here for the food. The ambiance was ok, the bathroom was clean, plenty of parking and the sign said $3 an hour no more than $15 for the day. This place can be so much better, one, they should remodel and take down the front high seating counter which is the only area you can sit with an ocean view so if it's lowered and glass windows are placed you can see the ocean from the entire dining area outside. You don't have a clear view of the ocean which to me is a big miss. There is inside seating but lots of gnats flying around which I don't like. Sorry, I wish I can give a better score but I had high hopes and was very disappointed. Note: I did eat all of my salad because I was starving, and it was an ok salad. read more

We were there Monday afternoon after 1pm so it wasn't crowded and it was off season. - Indoor and outdoor dining with beach views! - Parking is not free and you will need to pay at the kiosk. - Menu is simple but flavorful. - Our waitress recommended the burger, fish and chips or the poke bowl. - Tuna salad sandwich was okay. I've been here twice, once for a sunset dinner with my girlfriend and another time for my friend's engagement party. Her fiance rented out a big section on the patio for 35 people and it was perfect. The restaurant opens right onto the sand, so you're basically eating with an ocean view and sea breeze built in. Service was great both times: fast, friendly, and totally on top of things. Food and drinks came out quick and accurate, even with a big group. The food's solid. Not the star of the show, but definitely good enough to keep you happy while you watch the sunset. Terrible ownership (some lady, dont know the name), Great bartenders and servers. Ive seen this owner behave awfully. As an owner of a company, the way she doesn't have her employees backs is awful and the turn over rate is ridiculous. Never get comfortable with a server or bartender there. She'll probably fire them before your next visit. If you're looking for a job, I'd suggest somewhere without a high turnover rate. Especially at a resturant. The waitlist and reservation process was disorganized from the start. We called ahead to ask whether we could be added to the waitlist and were told that the café did not have one. When we arrived, however, we learned that a waitlist was available. While we were there, I also heard the host adding other customers to it by phone. We were added at 5:38 p.m. and told the wait would be approximately 46 minutes. We were prepared to wait, but after some time, the host told us it would be another 45 minutes, bringing the total expected wait to nearly two hours. This was especially frustrating because several customers were also reporting that their reservations could not be found, yet they appeared to be accommodated more quickly. After I raised the issue with the host, a floor supervisor became involved, and we were seated within approximately 10 minutes. That suggested the situation could have been handled more effectively from the beginning. Unfortunately, the service after we were seated was also very slow. It took about 20 minutes to receive our drinks and approximately another hour for our food to arrive. This was our first visit, and we will not be returning. The view was not exceptional enough to justify the long delays, and the reservation, waitlist, and table-management process appeared poorly organized. If you are considering dining here, The Boathouse, located less than five minutes away, may be a better option. read more

There is a parking lot right there but you must pay as it is beach parking. It is an easy walk to two hour free parking off Main Street and possibly closer parking on the street that is for one hour. Open until 10 pm. NOPE. NOT TODAY. NO NOTICE BUT THEY CLOSED @ 4pm. Really disappointed. We pulled into the parking lot at 405 pm Thursday April 23. It was a beautiful warm Spring day (73 degrees) and we were excited to eat with the great ocean view from The Beach House Seal Beach. Paid for 2 hours of parking and walked over to the restaurant. It was only when we entered the gate where the hostess is that we saw a small sign that said, "Closed." WAIT WHAT???? No indication in the parking lot, no sign at the sidewalk, no sign walking down the walk way. The ONLY notice was buried around a corner saying Closed. We were told they were short staffed and had to close early, sorry. As we walked back to the car, we stopped at least 4 other cars and told them the restaurant was closed. We were able to alert them so they did not pay for parking at a CLOSED restaurant. It felt like the restaurant had NO consideration for the customers. To have NO sign anywhere near where customers would be parking to notify us of a totally unexpected, unanticipated, highly unusual CLOSING at 4 pm for a restaurant that was supposed to be open until 10 pm!!!!! So I called from my car in the parking lot and asked to speak to the manager. When the manager got on he explained that they were short staffed and had to close early. I discussed the lack of notice to customers and how we paid for 2 hours of beach parking. Manager was nice and polite and totally unresponsive to the fact we paid money to visit his restaurant and now had no where to eat and were out the parking fees. I recommended they post a notice where customers could see they were closed BEFORE we paid for our parking. He said they would do it after they finished closing out. I insisted it was only fair that they notified their customers FIRST. So, as we were leaving we saw an employee come out and post a sign. I took a photo because no one would believe how inadequate their posting was if I just described it. The sign is micro small. You can see our car at the bottom of the photo. The location is right on the beach and we got to see the sunset. I called for a reservation but they don't do same day I guess. They told us just to come in and we got a seat. My daughter got the Salmon and said it was delicious. Only the broccoli was not cooked enough. I got the Flank Steak Salad and they cooked it perfectly. This past week I went for the first time. I want to talk about the things I liked first and then the things that I think they need work on. Trying to be as helpful as possible because I love seeing four or five star reviews. The service was really fine. All of the staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. I couldn't ask for better service in that arena. The coffee was great. It wasn't bitter. It was just very smooth and fresh. The eggs were great too. The potatoes were really good considering they may be fried and the wheat toast was great. The jam was really good! The ambience was amazing and the location, being right on the sand by the ocean, well what can I say? You can't get better than that location. The other food that I saw served at our table really looked good and I'd go back to try one or two of those items. The thing that needs work on, in my opinion, are the pancakes, including the syrup. It certainly didn't look like real maple syrup, and when I asked, they didn't know for sure, which usually means no. They should have an option to purchase real maple syrup for a little bit extra, as I've seen before in other places. Some people would greatly appreciate that, and they can make a few extra bucks as well. I would've paid up to a couple of dollars extra to get a small container of real maple syrup. The second thing, well, I don't know what's going on with the pancakes! They look amazing when they serve them, they really do. But I couldn't eat them. I had a few bites and there was something that is just bland and tasteless about those pancakes. Honestly, they really need to try a new recipe. Again, in my opinion only. I've had a lot of pancakes over the years and I've had a lot of pancakes that aren't that great but are still easy to eat and taste good with the butter and the maple syrup. I couldn't eat one more bite of these. I took a few bites and someone at the table mentioned similar thing. It's like the only good part of it was where the fruit soaked into the pancake and the rest of it was almost like eating bland white bread or something. So, I would highly recommend this place and I'm giving it a five star for now because they were so nice and I think they're really trying and have most things right! But I do highly recommend they take a look at another recipe for the pancakes because there's something way off with them, at least the day I was there. read more

Came here for a concert, which was lovely, but we had a hard time getting attention from the servers. I understand it's a weekend and with the concert the place was super crowded, however, we had to call the servers multiple times and had to walk up to the bar to get our drinks. That said, this is a beautiful place. It is right on the sand! On a nice day it is gorgeous and you can see the ocean. The outdoor seating area is great; the glass wall will shield you from the winds without blocking your view of the beach and ocean. The inside is the place to go if you don't want the winds or the sun. Both the inside and the outside seating areas are pretty crowded, with tables and chairs pretty close to one another, but for a beach restaurant, this is probably expected We came here for the concert, so only order wine and beers, but we got some french fries for snacks and they were great. I heard they have life performances from time to time so this may be a good destination to enjoy some nice music, wine, food, and the beach. read more

The server didn't check up on us once our entire meal except to clear our dishes once we were done. The ladies next to us seemed to have gotten great service so not sure why we didn't. I ordered a salad and asked for goat cheese on it but received blue cheese and when I asked about it the food runner said it was goat cheese. I always get the same order so I know it wasn't correct lol. Their food is very good, the pancakes it's a must try, our server was very nice and helpful, they take their time with the food because they are very full during the weekends, something that I didn't like is that they close breakfast at 11:30 am and they just serve lunch menu, also the veggie ceviche was not so good, it didn't have any taste, at least I expected some lemon taste but not, other than that they have a good menu, i taste a few plates from the breakfast and they were delicious. We came here for a 1:30 ouch, got seated rather quickly, but it took a while before the server took our drink order, was even longer to wait for the iced teas to show up. We ordered the ahi poke bowl, which my friend said was pretty good. I ordered the fish and chips, which was a huge mistake, greasy and a fishy smell, not fresh that's for sure. It took a long to get refills on the iced teas as well. Great views, great atmosphere and a beau view of the water here. read more
