Thank you to George and the entire team for the great food and service. Highly recommended!

Anyway, after umpiring a well played 14U baseball game in Yanticaw Park, I found myself hungry for a filling Italian sub. I consulted Yelp! which highly recommended Salumeria Regina ... which certainly sounded Italian to me! lol Anyway, since the place was pretty quiet (it was after 2PM) I wound up chit chatting with the Owner (see above.) I actually wound up ordering a Salumeria Salad, which was akin to an Italian Chef Salad, only with Salami and Ham. Truth be told, the salad was a wee bit disappointing, because it was sorely lacking a few standard Chef Salad staples, such as a little sliced turkey or roast beef, maybe a second kind of "contrasting" cheese, a hard boiled egg, and possibly some olives or peppers, something to give it a little more variety. I did ask to substitute Arugula for the traditional Iceberg Lettuce; and add sun-dried tomatoes, so perhaps it was my own fault for substituting other ingredients. The salad was packaged in a nice sized container, but it was dominated by fresh Mozzarella, which was, indeed delicious. Next time, I will definitely try one of their more popular sItalian subs, which had been my original idea!

Meh. Good:…read more-There are not many stores in this neighborhood that offer these kinds of products. Bad: - Small - Overpriced - Bad and limited selection of products - some products are past expiration (i do not know to what extent) I am a big consumer of health food & products with natural ingredients and minimal chemicals. Naturally I got tired of ordering online and decided to hunt for local spot. Unfortunately, I live in an area that doesn't have people who frequent places like this. I've walked into this place a couple of times. Each time I came in looking for something that health food stores generally carry and came out empty handed. For one, the place is a little dusty, I picked up a bottle off the shelf that was past the expiration date and definitely overpriced. The selection is meek and not up-to-date with any of the newer products or brands. Their personal care section is- frankly, pathetic and carries a lot of the fake natural brands, and nothing of good selection. The only thing okay about this store is that they do carry some good tea and honey (though also overpriced). They also have some essential oils, but the oils are also overpriced and the guy behind the counter tried to swindle me into buying a $30 dollar 1/2 oz bottle of peppermint oil when the $8 bottle of Aura Cacia Peppermint oil is just fine (yet still overpriced). I'm not writing this store off for good, but i am not going to re-visit until they get their act together.

They have a product called Flawless which tans you with a very natural looking tan. No orange at all. It looks just like the natural sun tanned me but without the harmful rays. It is put on the skin with a mitt (very cool, also very easy application) and everyone thinks I've been on vacation. Little do they know I never had to pass TSA security to get this dark and natural of a tan.

After my first visit, I can say the tongue-in-cheek spirit of Vinnie Mootz's signage carries right through the front door and into its lineup of "SANGWEECHES." I ordered "The Nicky Mootz" -- cutlet, bacon, hot sauce, and fresh mootz -- and enjoyed it immensely in the friendly, medium-sized dining room. The pizza, which I plan to try on a future visit, looked excellent, and the small assortment of hand-stretched mozzarellas is reason enough to stop back in the next time I'm passing through. It's a Jersey sandwich -- excuse me, sangweech -- shop with all the charm, humor, and flavor you'd hope for the community!

Chicken Parmesan with vodka sauce (8.7/10) - Bread was toasty with a nice crunch. Vodka sauce was light and creamy, and the mozzarella was very fresh (lots of cheese pulls). The chicken was thin but crispy and tasty. A little more sauce and chicken would really take this to the next level. Italian Sub with the works 9.2/10 - Bread was very soft and gave a nice bite to the sandwich. They were very generous with the meats, cheese, and fixings. Later that afternoon, before picking up my cat I decided to go inside. I wound up getting a few different items. Spices, chocolate covered pretzels, riced heart of palm, a garlic herb and oil blend, and some oil crackers. The had beautiful olive selection and a nice gourmet pickle section as well. I did sample one of the pickles and it was delicious but I was in a little bit of a time crunch. I believe I met the owner of the shop today and he was really kind and helpful. He was able to point out what was made in house and what was ordered for the shore and from where it came from. They also have an online store where you can order some of these products. As of now, there are some items you can't get on the webpage that are only available in the store, I already told my husband I would love to return in the near future.

They didn't stand out from the average jar of pickles I'd be able to buy from the supermarket or even generic brand from Walmart. That aside, I appreciated the kindness of the owner. He said I was allowed to try anything before buying. The freshly packaged candies looked tasty and were tasty. Unfortunately, Pickles are a little more difficult to keep up with as they have a shorter shelf life. I would come back if they made them less salty, more flavorful, and replaced them when the time is right.
