    4 years later, I continue to come back to buy my dance shoes here. The best part about Ballroom Connection is the people. Stephanie and Joel provide the best customer service there. I originally told them my size was 6.5, because I tried a pair on two weeks ago at a different location. I was greeted with both 6.5 and 6, as soon as I stepped in the door. After trying both on, size 6 fits me better - Stephanie knows her shoes! Apparently she checked my history before I showed up and I bought a range of shoes from size 5.5 to 6.5, and she knows the brand, Crown, runs big. That's why she suggested I try on size 6. Saved me a lot of time and feel very pleased to be treated like a VIP customer!

First, If you have a common size, it's hit or miss if they will have the shoes you want. I'm a pretty common size for men, and there was one pair of shoes, out of nine that could have been shoes I would have purchased, that had my size. Next, they have very tiny benches in each isle. The problem is that most isles only have one of them; often leaving you without a place to sit and try on the shoes. There also isn't anywhere to place boxes that you're trying, except for the floor. I'm a bit older, and that really just isn't an option. When I was helping my daughter try on shoes, it was very awkward. The last thing I will mention, from this trip, is that they have no rain boots for kids other than very small ones for toddlers. Other locations may have some, but this location didn't. One note on this is that I asked an employee where they had them and he went to five different boots and after the forth time, I had to tell him he wasn't looking at rain boots. He finally looked at me and simply said, "You'll have to ask up front." What this tells me is that they do not invest in training of their employees. I imagine they cover mandatory topics, but they clearly do not make them competent shoes sales people. I don't necessarily expect that, but I would expect them to teach their employees the basics. If you know these things about their operation, you'll have a better experience.

They have a good selection of shoes both new and used. Only downsides is when you try to sale shoes they're offers are lower than what you think is fair or what other shoe stores would offer you, they don't offer more much more if you're interested in trading in for credit. They do have there $100 and under sales that have some good value, but for the most part all shoes are priced over market by a decent amount.

Excellent service and attitude. I bought a pair of On Cloud shoes and within 5 days realized they were too big. The issue only showed up in real-world use: when walking downhill my foot slid forward into the toe box. That's not something you reliably catch by taking a few steps indoors. I went back to do a simple exchange (not a refund). The shoes were clean and in excellent condition. The only visible difference was very slight yellowing on the outsole contact pads -- noticeable under their bright store lighting but not dirty, or damaged. At first I was told the exchange would be fine. After further inspection, they reversed course and said the shoes were not "resaleable" due to wear. I spoke with multiple people (each initially identifying themselves as "the manager" before clarifying their role), and after a lot of back and forth the best options offered were: * 15% off a replacement pair, or * $60 store credit as a "no receipt return" value (they said this reflects the lowest recent selling price and excludes clearance). I ultimately took the $60 credit because my time is worth something and I needed the correct size. But the key takeaway is this: If you buy shoes here, assume you cannot test them outdoors -- even briefly -- without risking being denied an exchange. The 90-day return policy sounds generous, but in practice footwear appears to need to look completely unworn to qualify. I'm sharing this so others don't make the same assumption I did.
