Great local coffee stop. I went over and had a pumpkin spiced latte and sat on the patio while I got some work done. The inside was a bit stuffy but it was really cool to see all of the different coffees beans for purchase. I didn't eat but the food selection appeared to be good. I went at about 11:00am on a Wednesday and it was very busy, hardly anywhere to sit inside (which is a sign that their coffee and food are good)! The staff was very friendly. read more

They are super nice when you go in and greet you right away. They have some delicious tea options that I chose to take home and brew daily. The lattes I have had are okay and I can't really figure out what it is that doesn't wow me on the flavor. I swing in here at least once every weekend for a coffee around 2:00. I'm not usually a fan of flavored coffees, but there's something about the flavored coffees here that satisfies my mid-afternoon cravings for something sweet. I'm not sure why, because the flavors are very subtle, not harsh and syrupy like some places. They have 4 self-serve coffee dispensers with 2 flavored and 2 regular coffees plus a few decaf choices in addition to their lattes, cappuccinos, etc. that they mix for you behind the counter. They have an island with all kinds of things to add to your drinks, including simple syrup (something that I NEVER see at other places). I just don't understand why you would go to the Starbucks down the road when such fantastic coffee is available within spitting distance (and with a much less annoying parking lot to boot!). In addition to prepared coffee and tea, they also sell gelato, baked goods, soups and sandwiches. They have a huge selection (like over 50 different kinds!) of whole coffee beans, including seasonal, flavored beans and an equally huge section of teas and tea making accessories. They also have many unique, although mostly food-centric gifts that expands to ornaments, games, etc around Christmastime. You could make a pretty great gift basket for somebody with a visit here. The place smells great walking in, has a nice selection of both k-cup coffees and coffee beans you can buy, and a tacked on little cafe area for soups and sandwiches. However, I couldn't get it out of my head the entire time I was there that, as someone else said in another review, this place just feels like a repackaged Starbucks. I mean, even down to the color scheme and merchandise available. There were no complaints from either me nor my company about our drinks, but really nothing stood out about this joint that makes it special. If you were to remove all the signs and logos and bring someone in here, I don't think they could tell that it wasn't a generic chain. So I guess that's the big deterrent for coming here. If you live near this place and you feel like getting a regular coffee or sandwich that's from a place that's pretty much like a Starbucks, then that's fine. But if you're looking for something a bit more local and homey like I thought this was going to be, then be warned that this isn't it. read more

Great coffee and teas, plus excellent staff! I don't drink coffee so I appreciate that they have 3 kinds of chai available- try Tiger Chai if you want something different. Unlike Starbucks, you don't have to specify no water because they only use milk to make them. The guy enjoys the coffee here, especially the iced flavors, and always wants to detour here when we're headed south on 270. There is a large selection of whole beans and teas so you can take some home. And if you're lazy like us, they have some coffee flavors available in K-cups. If any suits happen to read this, please give SeVaughn a big raise! He has taken our order several times and he's always friendly, funny, and accurate. He made a big impression on my first visit when it was just me and a then 7 month old. Usually you pick up your order at the counter but he saw I was feeding G while waiting for my sandwich and drink so he walked it over to the table and even asked if I needed anything else. I love going to this place strictly for their bagels. First off the bagels are HUGE. You definitely get your money's worth. But the thing I love the most is the selection of cream cheese. They always have very unique flavors of cream cheese not just your typical plain, vegetable, strawberry, etc. The only complaint I have is the amount of cream cheese they use (I would say there is probably over half a cup of cream cheese they slather on!) So I usually end up taking a lot of it off They also have gelato there which I haven't had but... it's gelato! Yum! I am more of a tea drinker than a coffee drinker but they have a big selection of both. Lots of different flavors and it's fun to browse through them all. Great shop with a lot to offer but I mainly go to stock up on my coffee for home. I live in another state so this is a must visit when I come to the area (you can also order online but I like the feel of going in and getting it freshly ground or picking the box of k-cups off the shelf.). Right now, Baltimore Blend is my favorite for a nice light, smooth brew and Coconut Cream is my favorite flavored. Black Raven is good if you like a stronger cup, and the Mt. Vernon Blend sits a little in the middle of light and strong. Blueberry Cream is ok, very smooth and probably best suited for summer as they recommend. Road tripping back home today with Federal Blend in my cup so we shall see! But overall, the coffee from here is the best I've ever had (and I've had a lot.....I work in that kind of job. ) read more

Yes, please. I will have BCT every dang day. Bagels - awesome. Coffee - how do they do that? I don't even like flavored coffee! But it's so subtle, such a gentle aroma, that the flavoring just adds to the complex flavor of their never burnt, never sour, never Sbucks, roasty, toasty coffee. First of all, the fragrant warm smell of the shop alone is enough to make the experience worthwhile. And the employees are just as warm and vibrant. They take time to know their "regulars" and make you feel special; and they are welcoming and patient with new customers as they navigate the menu. The coffee is absolutely amazing. For anyone complaining about the freshness of the coffee beans just know that they don't replace the bags of coffee until they run low. If you want actual fresh coffee try to buy something more common, most of the popular beans get replaced once a week. Food is most definitely made fresh right in the kitchen, the only food not made right in the back is the pastries (excluding Biscotti's and cookies) If you get bad service there it's probably because the store is understaffed. The way employees a trained there is for speed over quality so if your bagel is a little burned they're not gonna fix it unless you specifically ask for it or complain. And seriously if there is something wrong or gross about your drink/food bring it up because the employees there will literally give you anything in exchange for it. Wether that's a different drink, replacement made differently, or a refund. That's the policy with BCT. If you are polite to the staff and an easy customer then there's a 99% chance whoever is making your order will go the extra mile to make sure it's done well. Another little tip for iced tea lovers, always ask when the iced tea was replaced/cleaned. If it wasn't cleaned or replaced within at least 1 day don't buy it it'll taste old. If you bring your family of 4+ and you have children there's a good chance of the staff being irritated with you as soon as you step in the door so keep that in mind while you order. Keep all this in mind and you'll have a pleasant experience. I'm writing this as a former employee who left on bad terms and despite that I think I'm giving the place a fair review. P.S. if you order a soy no foam latte with an extra shot of espresso and 2 pumps of whatever flavor or whatever crazy concoction your mind has made up, then the staff is judging you harshly 90% of the time. Stopped in for the first time on a Sunday morning coffee and was immediately greeted like we had been regulars for years. Had an everything bagel with egg, bacon, cheese and avocado. The bagel was toasted to perfection not over or under done. The coffee was bold and hot and there are so many different flavors of coffee and tea and at a reasonable price unlike some major coffee chains. The place seemed to be the hot spot as well as many people were in and out while I was there. Plenty of seating as well. Definitely will be coming back! read more

The breakfast sandwiches and muffins are also really good, however beware if you ask for your muffin to be warmed as they only put it in the microwave for 10 seconds and it doesn't warm at all. A friend aptly describes B'more C&T as more of a yoga pants and coffee cake destination--where they remember your name and order. Their pastries and prices beat Starbucks, which is right down the street, and they're also a better spot to pick up a quick gift. My recent thing is to order cafe au lait. They let you fill up your own coffee selection, and fill the rest with steamed milk. Those of us who prefer savory breakfast snacks will be happy that they have bagels with a variety of toppings. The proprietor also has good taste in candies and cookies, which sprawl around the cash register area. While their hours seem a bit limited, they're not so limited by Frederick standards. There are coffee shops in town I'd love to try that don't open until 9 or later--so B'More C&T is doing pretty good at 0630 on weekdays. They also have a couple tables inside and out. Bought a bag of the Ethiopian Adri and Hazelnut flavored coffee. Both bags had no aroma to the beans and the coffee tasted very bland. Made the coffee with both a drip and aeropress and was very disappointed in the quality. I've tried the Ethiopian Ardi and the Maui Lahaina Yellow Caturra coffee beans from another coffee roaster in Baltimore that were much better. The bags did not have a roast date as promised on the website and having the beans sit out in the open bags have me question their quality control practices. read more

I just don't get the reviews. This is nothing more than a re-packaged Starbucks style operation. I roast my own coffee at home and understand what coffee can be. I walked in and paid over $2 for what was essentially warm bathwater that vaguely tasted of coffee. I stopped the car and dumped it. You could literally pull into McD's or WaWa and get the same or better...and more of it...for much less. If you know roasted coffee...the roasted beans sitting out in the bags should make you question this place. For me, they are nothing more than decorative Overall, maybe the reviews are for the food but this place is "coffee and tea". If you truly want coffee at the same price point...for the same amount...that's been roasted within the week...that has great flavors (not over roasted)...there is a shop here in town you need to seek out. I really love this place, they have a good selection of tea. I'm sure the coffee is good as well but I'm not much of a coffee drinker. I come here to pick up my Ahmad Tea especially the English Tea No. 1, if you haven't tried it, good leave more for me. No, try it, it is really good. We drive by Baltimore Coffee at least once a week to get whole bean coffee by the pound. The huge selection of aromatic beans and bean types can be overwhelming. So far every flavor we got was great (English toffee, roasted almond, plain Italian roast, etc.) While trying to figure out which coffee to get - you can pick from all the open bags - try getting a cup for the road. They offer several of their roasts. My fave is the pumpkin spice even in the Summer. You can add almond milk, honey, or brown sugar to your cup 'o joe which that's a nice touch having options. Lastly, you have to try their sandwiches! Seriously, they are so delicious and fresh it is addicting. If you like fresh Italian try their panini pressed ciabatta with fresh mozzarella, basil, tomatoes, and prosciutto! Frederick's Baltimore Coffee and Tea is a real gem. It's something that you kind of have to hunt for, because it's hidden past the movie theater and your view of it from the road is obstructed by a bank building. My first thought when I walked in on my very first visit is that this location has a really and nice cozy atmosphere that makes you want to stay and relax. They have over 100 types of loose coffee bean blends that you can try (make sure you use the little plates sitting out to sniff the beans! Mmm!) including special flavored blends and premium treats like Kona and Jamaican Blue. You can purchase mochas and lattes and espressos, but my favorite thing to order is any of their 8 fresh brews that they always have available. There are always 4 regular blends and 4 decaf blends of fresh coffee available for your drinking pleasure along with the full espresso bar. In addition to all of the coffee and tea they have to offer, their sandwiches are fresh made on the bread of your choice and are VERY delicious. I have yet to try their pastries or soups and salads, but you can order a nice lunch of half a sandwich and a cup of soup if you choose. This is a great little place to enjoy lunch if the nearby Panera Bread is too crowded for you, and a much more fun place to get coffee than the busy Starbucks that's not even a 1 minute drive away. read more

This place is a fantastic local coffee shop in Frederick. The staff were very friendly and personable, and the food and coffee are both more affordable and more delicious than that available at a typical Starbucks. The Italian Roast was very dark and robust, perfect for my taste; the cranberry muffin I had was quite scrumptious; and the sun-dried tomato bagel with egg was perfectly warm and soft. Moreover, the music is played at a comfortable level and comes from a local radio station, again unlike a typical Starbucks. To top everything off, they have a large dining area, ensuring there are always available tables, and they have fast wi-fi. Thanks to all these features, I was able to accomplish a good deal of studying in my time here. I will definitely be returning to Baltimore Coffee & Tea the next time I am in Frederick! read more

I volunteer to make all the FedEx runs at the office just so I have an excuse to come here. I love coffee and tea, and they have great options for BOTH. They have a great variety of flavored/unflavored coffees that you can sample, and if you prefer to buy it bagged, the prices are reasonable and I love that they have their loyalty card. I've gotten friends and family HOOKED. I enjoy loose tea and I can't complain. Their chai is the best around (no disgusting Starbucks syrup mix - YUCK!) and I love that they have 3 kinds of chai. Their selection of loose and bagged tea to take home is exceptional. Food, while it may be on the higher end of the price scale, is not lacking for quality. You get what you pay for.
