For the record, I have wanted to go to Vinny's Foreverrrrrrrrrrrr and just have never had the chance to stop in. Welp! That chance finally came and I am elated at the results. LoL! After leaving a small gathering I had the urge for a slice of pizza. As I was in the Ansley area Vinny's was at the top of my list... Though it sits in the strip mall Vinny's has the feel of a stand-alone restaurant when you walk inside. As it was later in the evening there were only a few people in line. The menu has an assortment of options, however, I only had cheese pizza on my mind. LoL! I tried to place the order on the self-serve screen but it wasn't working for me. The young lady behind the register was super nice. She took my order with a smile and provided a pleasant interaction. When my pizza was ready and he called my name you should have seen the smile on my face. LoL. I was super excited. Upon taking a bite of my pizza I think my entire body melted. Oh my goshhhhhhhhh. Today I decided to go to a small spot over in Ansley mall shopping center for a zoom meeting and we to Vinny's Pizza This is literally an in and out type of ordeal just like most pizza joints but they don't have some tables/booths if you want to sit and eat in (not many) so I decided to sit and eat while I waited for my zoom meeting to start. Pizza is known for being super cheesing and oily and that's what gives it the wow factor and Vinny's didn't disappoint! They advertise being a New York style pizza restaurant and yes the pizza is huge!! They make it to order so it's fresh as it can be and it was GREAT!! The only critique that I would have for this place is just a little better customer service. The girl at the cash register was very uninterested in taking the order. I actually waited about two minutes before she got up from the booth from where she was eating to come take my order , however, the guys in the back making the pizza talk to you're at the register and they were super nice so it wasn't as bad! I went to Vinny's with a friend and the pizza was good. I went back the following week and ordered another pizza. I waited almost 45 mins without anyone informing me about the long wait. I went up to the cashier and asked if she put my order in because it was taking long. When my name was called I never opened the box to check the pizza. I waited so long. I grabbed the pizza and headed out the door. I don't live far. Got home and opened the box. The pizza WAS NOT FRESHLY MADE. Vinny's employees had me wait in there all that time and apparently gave me a reheated pizza. Maybe something from an earlier order that was wrong or cancelled. One of my go to pizza spots. Growing up in NY I'm a picky pizza eater. I've been coming here for years and the pizza is consistently yummy. The core staff is kind and has remained the same over the years. The location is in Ansley mall. They have a great lunch special - 2 slices and a soda for a pretty decent cost. I usually grab a slice or two of pizza or the personal pie with fresh mozzarella. Once they gave me some garlic knots and I was in heaven. I see many people order their pasta, I have never tried it probably bc I cook my own, but it looks good! Inside you order at the register and take a number with you to a seat. They bring the food out and also clean off the tables once you leave. It's relaxed inside with TVs in case you are trying to catch a game or need something to watch while you snack. Don't fall for the "elite" 5 star reviews - these people clearly don't know good pizza. This was my go to for so long, the only place in all of ATL to get near authentic NYC style pizza. Sadly, while the crust and cheese are still what you'd be looking for in a pie, they've changed the sauce. It's got no herbs and it's so sweet that it ruins the entire thing. I wont order from here again (both times have been through Uber eats) the first time I placed my order for kids pasta and a small pizza they mentioned after the driver was there that was kitchen was closed and they didn't make the pasta mind you i order an hour if not more before closing. Looking for a good slice of Pizza for lunch. Unfortunately I did not find it here. Got the lunch Special: 1 Slice / 1 Topping, Salad & Drink for $7.50. (I added 2 extra toppings - Sausage, Mushrooms & Green Peppers). Biggest problem I had with the Pizza was that it was not Hot at all! It was slightly warm at best. The veggies were pretty cool themselves. It's almost as if the pizza was already cooked, sitting under a light, then they throw the toppings on and heat it in the oven for a few seconds. Also, not a whole lot of cheese on it. I've had better pizza reheated from the night before. I might have cut them some slack if they were busy & in a rush, but there was literally 3 other people in there. The side Cesar wasn't that great either. Really over dressed & almost half of the romaine was soggy and wilted. It also seems like they threw it curve-ball style on the plate. we ordered Vinny's last night, and it was one of the worst, if not the worst, experiences I've had in a restaurant. We picked up dinner at the Piedmont location. The order was incomplete - half the items we ordered over the phone were missing. When I explained this to the woman taking orders, she was more concerned about whether we had been charged for what we ordered than fixing the issue. I then waited 15 minutes for the corrected order, which I learned had been sitting on the counter in the kitchen for 10 of those 15 minutes - no one had cared enough to bring it to me. The order was still incomplete - one item was still missing, so I had to wait even longer. When the order was complete, the woman who had failed to fill our order correctly insisted on charging me for a pizza she had not rung up. She gave me a $1.50 discount for my experience. It was a $70 order. I expressed my displeasure to this woman but did not receive an apology or any sense that Vinny's recognized they delivered grossly subpar service except for a 'sorry' from the woman's manager on my way out. I do not know if what I encountered was attributable to the incompetence of one employee or is a systemic lack of concern for customers, but regardless, I hope that Vinny's addresses the issue before so that other customers do not have a similar experience.
