Upon being seated, it took about ten minutes for anyone to come take our order. When a waitress realized that nobody had come over to service, she said she would find someone. The waitress who did end up serving us seemed to be training someone. Even with the two of them, though, it took forever to get refills on drinks and anything else we needed. By the time we finally got the check, we couldn't wait to get out of there. The salad was quite good with fresh ingredients and a nice dressing on the side. The pizza was not my favorite, but it was decent and my husband enjoyed it. The atmosphere is casual with a somewhat cheesy Italian vibe, but if it weren't for the service, I would have maybe found it charming.

This quickly became a favorite restaurant of ours before they even brought the appetizers! First off, the atmosphere was casual and upscale at once-- we had come here spontaneously so we weren't dressed up and we didn't feel out of place, but the table settings and fun decor felt like the right level of elegance to enjoy this great meal. Our waiter was very attentive and checked in to ensure we were having a great meal, and our waters were always filled. Now, the best part: food! There were at least 25 menu options we got excited about and eventually we narrowed it down to the bacon wrapped scallops with an INCREDIBLE pesto honey mustard sauce, veal sorrento which my boyfriend really liked, and Chef Chris's Grilled Salmon which was AWESOME. The salmon is perfectly grilled with baby shrimp, crab meat, tomatoes, and basil on top. Literally INCREDIBLE. It comes in a garlic cream sauce with broccoli rabe (made RIGHT! not bitter at all!) on the side. We had so much fun dining here, and noticed a casual fare deli side to the place that we'll have to check out the next time we're back! Which is bound to be soon!

The inside is simple and classy, uncluttered and clean, but most of all a quality Italian eatery. For a Tuesday evening it was pretty slow. The waitress who helped me was personable and treated me like family. She tried to give me the "everything is good here", but I wasn't having it! I appreciated her patience as we perused through the menu. I finally went with the popular Saporito - Chicken/Veal (I chose Veal at $35), Egg Battered Scaloppine. Vermouth Sauce, Spinach, Mozzarella topped with crab meat. For my pasta side I chose was spaghetti and it came with a salad. I was loving the Vermouth Sauce, it was sweet and not too thick/watery. The Veal was a little tough, but was better after soaking up the tasty sauce like a sponge. The crab meat was plentiful and fresh. I was kind of shocked they don't give you bread with your meal. I'm not a huge bread guy, but it's a staple at Italian eateries. I enjoyed a nice glass of a dry oaky cabernet my new friend recommended. They had a decent sized wine bottle/glass menu. I'm not a wine expert, but many styles were represented and it seemed like the management is on top of their selections and recommendations. I will certainly return for a family dinner or date night with my wife. Thanks guys!

While there weren't very many Yelp reviews, it was the virtually perfect Google reviews that drew me in for a meal. The interior dining area is tasteful and bright, but also pretty no frills (in other words, not fancy). We started off with a cup of pasta fagioli soup and an order of garlic bread with cheese, and went with a large pizza and chicken parmigiana w/penne vodka for our meals. While the soup, garlic bread, chicken parmigiana, and pasta were all solid, the clear stand out was their pizza. It had the perfect dough to make for a flavorful chewy crust combined with a combination of high quality cheese and tomato sauce to make for a delicious and memorable pizza experience. It definitely met my high standards which I set for pizzerias that I'd regularly frequent. Service was excellent as Salvatore checked in on us several times to ensure everything was to our liking and took the time to chat with us out his family history of pizza making in the area, pointing out the wooden pizza peels on the wall. He's from Sicily and if you dine in, you can see him masterfully spinning the dough during the pizza preparation. Both Salvatore and the other employee on duty were very cordial and seemed genuinely appreciative of our business. While I'd probably skip over the pasta dishes and go straight for their delicious pizza next time, I'll definitely be back to Bella Sicily and would recommend them to others for a tasty and high quality pizza experience.

I first noticed Panorama Musicale while picking up lunch at Italian Peoples' Bakery next door. From the outside it still looks like an Italian shop from Chambersburg's heyday. But, walking in you realize you aren't in Jersey anymore. The language is Spanish, and the environment is Latin Café. I was there to see about lunch. The friendly owner showed me what was cooking in the water table, and I chose the fried chicken and rice. I noticed the other customers were drinking coffee, and soon understood why. Behind the counter was a copper classic expresso machine, complete with large dome and spread eagle on top. A work of art from another era. So, the chicken was dry and overcooked, and the rice only passable. I wouldn't return for their food unless desperate. For that alone, they would get two stars at most. However, I wasn't gong to leave without testing that awesome contraption, and ordered a latte to go. I watched as the process unfolded. Valves were turned. Steam pipe immersed. Foam poured. Impressive bit of engineering and design. And, the latte was excellent, too! Far better than the average joe, and at a reasonable price compared to the better known beaneries. If it had been served in ceramic, on a tray, and with a cookie, it would have garnered five stars; but given the styro cup delivery, I just couldn't get that far. Panorama Musicale could use a thorough cleaning and a little panache around its wonderful expresso machine, but as it is, it is a surprising find for superior coffee in the heart of Jersey's capital city.

On a recent return visit to our original home area, I was thrilled to learn that my childhood (and adult) favorite sandwich had returned after the original restaurant that made them closed many years ago. That sandwich is a beef hot dog on an Italian roll and topped with peppers, potatoes, and mustard. This masterpiece is now offered at Ray's as his Original Italian Hot Dog. Sheer ecstasy! We ate hot dogs at some small tables near the counter, and ordered a pork braciole sandwich to go. There's a nice selection of other items as well, all offered at low prices. The owners, who both were working there, welcomed us enthusiastically and offered homey, caring service. I quietly asked the woman cleaning tables if they were still serving anything at that late hour. She was Ray's wife and she smiled at the question, and asked what I wanted. "An Italian Hot Dog, if possible?" She turned to check with their cook, who was willing and able. Five minutes later he delivered a red plastic basket with a split torpedo roll loaded with a fat frankfurter, slices of fried potato, dark brown mustard and covered over with a blanket of sautéed green pepper. First bite told the tale. The bread was still crusty with soft inside; the dog was full of beefy garlic flavor; the potatoes were hot and fully cooked, and the green pepper was layered over everything to hold in the heat and moisture. Each chomp revealed all the texture and taste cues that these local Jersey specialties are famous for. The brown mustard provided the final spicy kick in the butt. While I ate, the big man, Ray, came over to chat. Turned out that we knew some of the same people from the Chambersburg neighborhood. In fact my stepson lived on the same street and Ray knew the previous owner of the home, my step's uncle, Alex. It was a pleasant conversation and it was great to recollect with him. This was a great experience from beginning to end; inquiry to successful meal; introduction to surprising connections. Yes, and the Italian Hot Dog a strong representation of the genre. For the warm welcome for this stranger and the strange woven human connections, Five grateful and delicious Stars.
