Duck was amazing, wok chow mein was ok. Food Presentation could be better. Cons: while appetizer was speedy, food took almost 40 minutes. They brought out complementary salads for the wait. TL;DR Decor and feel is stylish and comfy, food tastes good, thoughtfully prepared, and well presented. Prices are very good (in my opinion and experience). Great place to eat. Like another reviewer touched on, the decor is great. From the large mural on the wall that the owner painted himself to the wood work all around the restaurant fabricated by his father, this place is stylish but also very comfortable (seriously plush seats). But I'm here to talk about food, because I love food. Price point was definitely lower than expected, given the quality of preparation and presentation. I had miso and hot & sour soup. Both were great, and I liked that the h&s soup had a robust cut of veggies and not tiny little pieces. The miso soup also had a variety of seaweed that had better flavor and texture than you usually see at Chinese places. For appetizers we had the duck bun and edamame. The duck buns had great flavor, not too strong of a plum sauce preparation and the duck had very crispy skin and juicy meat. Don't get much better than that. Edamame was good, it's hard to mess up since it's so simple. I did like the salt they used on it (yea i know, very minor detail but it stood out). For entrees, we had sushi, rolls, prawn & scallops, and salmon teriyaki. My thumbs are getting tired so I'll keep this simple. Teriyaki had a great seer and flavor was bomb. Sushi was well made, none of that butchered slab of fish with a bowling ball of rice business that a lot of places have. The prawn and scallops had a unique tasting sauce, which was a very pleasant surprise. In my experience, it seems like this kind of dish comes in a generic sauce, meaning you can't really tell from one dish or restaurant to the next. Not the case here. This is probably the longest review I've ever written, but that's because of how solid everything was here. I'd say there's a very good chance that anything you order from the menu will be prepared well, look good, and taste great. read more

The server brought an entire bowl of extra sauce then charged me $2 for it even though I had only asked for a little more sauce on the beef. The beef was chewy and tough. We asked about the Miso soup and his response was "it is dishwater soup." His was not accommodating on anything. I left a tip but I really should have stiffed him. I found him to be abrupt. This place was average , a bit over priced, their food is like Chinese take out food but eaten at a restaurant and the food is plated nicely. I got the duck buns for the appetizer and the though was really tough and not really crispy. I got the sesame chicken and it was okay. The waiter was fairly nice but slow to come back to the table and take our order/ give us the check. The orient is better just go there. The food at bamboo garden is over priced and doesn't taste as good as other places. Sushi is kinda bad here and doesn't compete with the orient. My boyfriend took me here tonight and I couldn't be more impressed! The atmosphere was really neat and high end, while the prices were reasonable for the portions and dishes offered. We went during their soft opening (grand opening is this Saturday, March 26th) so the menu may change between now and then and extra things may be offered, but for being new the staff and kitchen did exceptionally well in my opinion! Our server was very friendly and attentive, and the appetizers came up quick. There was also a man walking around who kindly refilled our beverages which was very convenient! We started with the Crab Rangoon which was perfect, fried just the right amount and had enough filling! We also tried the Fantasy Roll and that too was very fresh and satisfying; the presentation was also very upscale and featured a bamboo leaf and lotus flower! I should have taken a picture, but we tore them up before I even thought of pulling my phone out. My entree consisted of the Seafood in Bird's Nest and my boyfriend ordered the Triple Delight; his main complaint was that it took a little bit coming out but I can't hold that against them since not only are they new, but the seafood in bird's nest can be quite an intricate dish to make due to the fried taro nest. All in all, the portions were very generous and the dishes were full of flavor, not too salty as you may experience at some Chinese restaurants! The dishes also came with a side of rice, and they gave us white since they did not have brown yet available but the rice was served in a separate bowl and was again, a generous portion! I took home a menu and noticed the Seafood in Bird's Nest mentions it including calamari, however, it actually wasn't fried so I'm not sure why it said that but I preferred it not being fried and really enjoyed it!!! Overall, reasonable prices, generous portions, approachable and attentive staff, and extremely large menu consisting of something for everyone! I have been looking for a place near my house to sell Seafood in Bird's Nest and this is the only place so far I've seen it, so they won me over! I can't wait to go back to try their Shrimp with Lobster Sauce as that's another one of my favorite meals and many of their other delicious options! Seriously, everything on their menu looks amazing! Definitely worth checking this place out, it's so nice to see more authentic restaurants coming into Bel Air!!!! read more

Seemed to be some confusion going on with patrons and employees. My server was great, attentive, and knowledgeable of menu and helped me with special requests. My Peking Duck was crispy and delicious and made over bed of lettuce and vegetables, as specially requested. Also ordered seafood salad appetizer which was a special, not on menu. You can order it spicy or not and waiter offered other options. When it came without any seaweed as described on specials menu, he immediately apologized and had it corrected. My parents held their wedding reception at Bamboo Garden and we had a wonderful experience. From the beginning, it was clear that the management was SUPER into the idea of having a party in their back room. They were very supportive and creative partners for my step-mom. The day of the event was pretty calm-we did a lot of work with the staff to get everything decorated, but we felt comfortable leaving some things up to the staff to finish up. The food was set up in a buffet style and there were just gads of it-and it was all delicious!! Everything was super fresh-clearly they put a lot of thought into making this experience wonderful for my family. I'm so thankful for their hospitality and for their intentional thought. Our first visit there and we loved the atmosphere. It's a great place to go for anything from a casual dinner to a group dinner or even a classy date night. The ambiance is very soothing and the waiters are very polite and helpful. We ordered the Thai red curry and vegetable rainbow roll sushi. The red curry was not at all spicy and had a little too much ginger but the sushi was fantastic. We finished up the dinner with a plate of green tea ice cream which was also absolutely delicious. Bamboo Garden is pretty delicious. My husband and I are vegetarians. The menu had a few happy surprises. We expected to only have the choice of the typical vegetarian options (avocado or cucumber sushi, and typical rice and noodle dishes). We were happy to find green leaves all over the menu indicating vegetarian options. My husband got the egg drop soup, avocado/peanut sushi, and the Buddist delight. I had a vegetable​ maki sushi (avocado, cucumber, and tofu skin) roll and the vegetable tofu hot pot. The next time we go I will try their vegetarian​ hot and sour soup.
