Went here with my girlfriend for dinner tonight and was not impressed due to the following reasons. Her meal (shrimp & broccoli) was brought out before mine (Peking duck). They said mine would be a couple more minutes which was actually about 10, so we couldn't enjoy our meal together. When I said something to manager she tried putting blame on waitress as new, that some people eat faster then others, and in all actuality it is on the chef. A restaurant should be able to time meals so they come out the same time for the table. What we did get was good and well presented. However I would not recommend if you want to eat together. read more

The atmosphere was slightly awkward when we walked in but the food was really good. The Phoenix roll was to die for however, they brought all of our sushi out on combined plates and we had to split it up and reach across the table for our food. In conclusion, I would definitely return for a second visit but I wish they would give us our own plates. read more

Bamboo Garden is a great place for Date Night. My husband and I were looking for a place with great food but was quiet so we could enjoy having conversations and each others company. Bamboo Garden was suggested to us, and they did not disappoint. Bamboo Garden is beautifully decorated and is very relaxing. We came on a Saturday night where the noise level was quiet, and they weren't too busy. Our waiter was very nice and provided us with plenty of time to review the menu as it was our first time being there. We started off with ordering Sushi, a Spicy Salmon Roll and Philly Roll. The sushi was fresh, but the pieces were small. It left me wanting more, which was fine as we ordered it as our appetizer. Next time we'll try the special/signature sushi. For our entree, my husband and I both got a Special Combo Meal. The Special Combo Meal comes with your entree, choice of rice ( white, brown, or pork fried), soup ( wonton, egg drop, hot & sour), and roll ( egg roll or spring roll). I ordered Beef Lo Mein as my entree, white rice, wonton soup, and an egg roll ( $10.95). Everything was delicious and very flavorful. My husband ordered Sesame Chicken as his entree, wonton soup, pork fried rice, and an egg roll ( $11.95) and he enjoyed every bit. read more

My husband and I went here on a Thursday night. Not very crowded. We commented to each other that we liked the decor. It's nice looking inside. Husband ordered shrimp eggrolls and a chicken based Chinese main course. He liked it. I ordered sushi which was also very delicious. Super fresh tuna sashimi. Stopped by two weeks ago just to try their soups, tried two of them. They were so good that my wife and I have already been to the restaurant for dinner twice in the last 2 weeks. The decor is awesome, seating is very comfortable, the place does not feel crowded at all, there is plenty of seating space, and thank God this is not the same-old-chinese-buffet I see everywhere. The dishes are extremely well prepared and served courteously. Kevin, the owner is always there and is totally open and adaptable to slight changes if one prefers in the way dishes are prepared, and we have been more than happy to be here. Finally, after 20 yrs I actually like a chinese restaurant. Beats the brand names. Prices are reasonable. Considering they don't have a liquor license yet, the total bill was an equally good surprise, Great job Kevin, keep it up, and you will succeed beyond you imagination. Best of luck to you and your dad with all you have done hand-making furniture, paintings and other decor. Great sushi - quiet and beautiful atmosphere. Also has WIFI so it's a good place to go for lunch break if you need to do work.

Great place. Beautiful decor. Food was delicious with great presentation. I enjoyed the oceanic roll and lunch special tangerine beef. This is the best Asian restaurant in Bel Air! I go here constantly with my family and young kids. My son LOVES the General Tso's chicken. Sometimes kids are picky, and it's important to know that there are delicious options for everyone! The first time I went to Bamboo Garden at its opening, it was very busy. But the staff members are never slacking. They do everything they can to give your party a fantastic experience. My favorite thing on the menu is definitely the peanut avocado sushi. It's a very creative and new roll that is absolutely delicious and it makes my mouth water just thinking about it. The fried rice is also top of the line. Also, the presentation of each dish is unique and beautiful. They add flowers, sauces, and other decorations to your dish to make it look and taste even better! My daughter and I dined here for the first time last night and it was WONDERFUL! They have the best won ton soup I've ever eaten! The portions were very generous for the price. My daughter ordered the Happy Family and it was beautifully presented, but most importantly very delicious. I ordered the beef and broccoli combination with the pork fried rice, spring roll and won ton soup. All the vegetables that were in our meals tasted like they were just picked from the garden- very, very fresh. The service was top notch and the atmosphere very welcoming. First time customer, looking for a change from my usual Chinese place, saw Bamboo Garden in Yelp and decided to give it a shot. Ordered my usual General Tso's Chicken, which has served me well as a good gauge for the overall quality of the food. When I arrived for pick up I sort of felt bad that I did take-out because they've made a nice space of the interior. Pleasant and simple decorations complement an open and airy space and friendly, eager staff. My impression is that the layout could benefit from better utilization of the central bar area and locating the cashier / take out space closer to the entrance, and while some diners might prefer the open layout, I found the main dining area to be a little too open and the lighting levels to be too high lit to suit my preferences for an intimate, private dining experience. There is a separate seating area off to the right that I never got a chance to explore so maybe there's a different kind of experience to be had in there. But overall a clean, modern look and a pleasant atmosphere. As for the food, it was excellent. The challenge with General Tso's Chicken is in the balance between getting the sweet/sour/hot flavor into the meat without overfrying it. Made poorly, GTC becomes lumps of overfried greasy, fatty chicken floating in a syrupy soup seemingly designed to obscure the meat. Bamboo Garden passes the General Tso's Chicken test - the meat is a quality cut and the chef has found the formula to imbue the chicken with flavor without putting it in competition with the sauce. As for the sauce, without placing any special request in regards to "hotness", I can say it is appropriately powerful for General Tso's Chicken. More spice would distract from the delicate balance between sweet and sour that is the hallmark of many Chinese dishes, and which seems to be particularly highlighted in Bamboo Garden's General Tso's Chicken. The preparation of the meat lends a lightly fried texture with a satisfying mouth feel; the meat is moist and absent any skin, tendons etc. that make it into lesser GTC. The final high point is that the serving came with an ample supply of peppers, baby corn, and broccoli that were a suitable complement to the meat, too often GTC is served as an "all meat" dish or with a token "garnish" of one or two broccoli clusters. This diner appreciates the veggies. 5/5 on the takeout experience, need to go back to get a broader sense of the menu and see what the in-restaurant experience has to offer. read more

So happy this place opened up near us! We had the pork dumplings, shrimp shumai, and sesame chicken. All delicious! The shumai and dumplings have the thinner shell (not a big doughy coating like some places use). And the chicken was real white meat. This was my first time going to this restaurant. I heard good things and decided to try it. I think the food could of been good. Everyone else in our party was pleased with the food. The service was not very good. Our server was Rhiannon. She was nice but inept. One person in our party ordered an appetizer. Nobody else wanted one. Rhiannon left in the middle of taking our order to put the app in and we had to flag her down to finish ordering. We then waited about a half an hour for the appetizer when she came to our table to ask if we wanted her to put our order in since the appetizer was taking so long to make, which was one roll of sushi. 45 minutes to prepare one roll of sushi! Then when our food did come out, mine was not prepared the way I requested. Rhiannon realized this before she served it but waited for me to say something about it and admitted that she knew it was wrong. I still got charged the full price for the dish that I couldn't eat. I took it home for the dogs since I paid for it. It was just bad service. read more
