This was a very clean nail shop. I got a pedicure by one of the fellows, who did a fantastic job. He made my feet look and feel great. Something I can't do well on my own. The nail technician did not speak English very well but was very communicative. He kept checking in with me to make sure that everything that he did was acceptable and felt OK. That was special. The quality of my mother in laws and my nails was and is subpar. While there her nail tech was going to hard on the base of her cuticles and rubbed them raw. It has even been a week and my gel nails are already chipping and coming off. The people there are nice and it is clean. However, will not be going again. This is the only nail salon in the Poulsbo area I believe, so the pickins are slim but they do a good job providing salon services for the area. My nails look amazing, but I knocked two stars off for a variety of reasons. Her station was unclean and did not clean her station from her previous appointments, so the nail dust was going everywhere and it was generally unsanitary overall. The nail tech was also rough with my hands, especially compared to past nail techs I've been to in Seattle or NYC. From the rough moving of my fingers to draw the designs, how she broke skin when she cleaned my cuticles, the unclean station, and the fact that she did not make an effort to make conversation or even small talk, it was clear that she could use a bit more training. Her hand drawn work is phenomenal though, and she worked faster than other nail techs I've been to. I'm sure the work required a whole lot of focus so the last thing she wants to do is chat, but again, other nail techs would typically be friendlier. She also did not hesitate to take and start personal phone calls with her friends to gossip about her boyfriend during my appointment (but again, all while doing amazing detailed work). The only man who works there is really good at talking to customers and making them feel comfortable though, so maybe she could learn a thing or two from him? Overall, if you want your nails to look good and don't care about how you get there, this is a good spot to go to. read more

TLDR: Literally berated and verbally assaulted when I answered if the male nail techs question if I thought the nails were okay. I was shocked, didn't say anything, and when the second tech came I was too afraid to say anything about the wrong nail polish. $40 for fill with the wrong nail polish and a literal verbal assault. My third and final time patronizing this business. The first time was great. The second time a gentleman did my nails, they were awful so I went back and a talented lady did a great job Fixing them. I went back a third time, the lady who fixed the bad set proceeded to start the fill, and then midway the gentleman who had done my nails came over to finish them. A new customer had walked in, so she went to the new customer. The gentleman started with the same technique, then didn't file them down before attempting to ask me to rinse them off. He looked at me and asked if the nails were okay, so told him no, I would like them buffed. He was getting angry, so I politely asked if he could have someone else finish them, as we were not seeing eye to eye on why I wanted my nails filed and buffed before the polish. I have been getting my nails done for over 25 years. I like them filed and buffed or the nail polish is bubbled. He started yelling!!! At that point I am about in tears. A middle aged man in a nail salon berating me and screaming to get them done somewhere else. The lady came back quickly and finished them. Maybe because I am a woman this makes decided he could just be abusive and verbally assault me. I showed her again the pic of their polish I wanted, but she put two coats of black and a red sparkle over it. So that was $40 bucks to be berated and have black nails that look mud colored. I wasn't going to say anything about the polish because I didn't want to be verbally assaulted again. I just paid the $40 and left. read more
