I have been driving by Bamboo Village for years, never knowing what I have been missing out on! The service was great and the food was even better! the best egg rolls I have ever eaten! I would strongly recommend this hidden gem to anyone in the area. I will definitely be back!

We ordered: Que Viet eggs rolls Chicken wings Mongolian beef Pad Thai Bangkok shrimp and scallops The person who took our order was great! Delivery was fast. Order was accurate. But....food was not good. The egg rolls were very dark brown on the inside and tasted nothing like Que Viet egg rolls. Pad Thai looks like it had a good dousing of ketchup. It was extremely red in color and unappetizing and therefore did not get eaten. Mongolian beef was exceedingly sweet and saucy. VERY sweet. The Bangkok shrimp and scallops were decent. Scallops were HUGE. A LOT of lemons in the dish. Chicken wings were the best thing--tasty and crispy. Very disappointed for $90+.

    Egg foo yuck!

The food was not what I expected all. I got the egg foo young and my kids the sesame chicken. The egg foo young was shaped more like meat balls, & had generic peas & carrots in it, but no onions at all. Even the white rice, sesame chicken, and egg rolls were disgusting. We spent over $50, and I didn't enjoy any of it. Never again!

We just moved to the area this summer. Bamboo Village is by far the best around. Portions and flavors are spot on. We haven't had a bad dish yet! If you haven't been here, you need to try it.

Subpar - 2 stars. It's been 9 years since I've been to Bamboo Village. I was SO hungry...and I was SO excited...and I was SO disappointed! Unfortunately, sometime in the past decade these guys have gone from average to below average. GOOD: 1. The food is very inexpensive, especially considering recent rampant inflation. 2. My server was excellent, doing a great job despite being the only person on the floor. 3. The restaurant looks nice and modern. 4. The dining room seems to be pretty clean. BAD: 1. My tea was the usual cheap tea in a bag. It had a weird soapy smell that I could also taste. I'm not sure if it was the cup or the tea itself. Whatever the case - ew! 2. My Viet egg rolls were great 9 years ago, completely different now. They have the same wonderful crispy crust. But the inside is some weird mash or mix or hash or whatever. It was dark brown, obviously loaded down with lots of soy sauce to make is passable. Definitely a downgrade. 3. My chicken curry looked beautiful with a generous quantity of food. But the chicken had the distinctive flavor or having "turned" or "rot" or "decomp" or if you're a biology dude (like me) the distinct flavor of "putrescine". I've been feeling like crap ever since I came home. Someone from Anoka County should definitely make a spot inspection to investigate safe food handling practices in the back kitchen. 4. It was busy as hell for dinner but there was only 1 person working her ass off trying to keep up. On top of that, I watched complete chaos when the computer went down during my dinner. Understaffed - not cool. 5. Lots of messy tables not cleared off throughout (see photo). Weird. 6. The back corner is a disturbing storage and cleaning supply area (see photo). Put up a wall or something. The cheap little folding room divider doesn't cut it. Tacky. RECOMMENDATIONS: If you want to visit an excellent Asian restaurant that's only 5 minutes away, I highly recommend Ginger Café. If you're willing to drive 15 minutes to the big mall area in Coon Rapids, Ichiddo Ramen, Kyoto Sushi, and Osaka (a chain restaurant) are all good. These are different styles of Asian food but they're light years ahead of Bamboo Village. -Maxx

    Allegedly Que Viet Egg Rolls

The sign claimed to sell Que Viet egg rolls so we picked up a couple along with pot stickers. As a frequent diner at Que Viet, I was excited. When we got home, we could not be more disappointed. The filling in both were unrecognizable. It was basically deep fried sausage rolls and nuggets. I'm ending the review now because I don't want to spend anymore time thinking about how these were made. The only thing Que Viet about these egg rolls is the name. I've had better egg rolls from Trader Joe's.

$61 spent here tonight and it was terrible. My husband called in the order to pick up at 6pm. Our order of $5 hot & sour soup was completely missing from the bag. The egg rolls were overcooked and gross. The person taking the order was rude and could care less if we ordered from the business. We have eaten here many times but we will no longer be ordering from Bamboo Village.

We ordered: house special wings, Singapore noodles, shrimp egg foo yung, and sweet and sour pork. Everything was cooked well and the flavors were exactly what we were expecting. The sweet and sour sauce is house made and was delicious- we were glad to have ordered extra sauce! And the egg foo yung had a light and tasty brown sauce. The wings were tasty but I wish they had some crisp- they were quite soggy. The cost ended up being a little more than we were expecting, $70 for 3 entrees and an appetizer, but the food was quality and portions were generous. The Singapore noodles were 3 meals worth. Note: they will substitute fried rice for white rice with an entree, but it's a $5 upcharge per entree for a miniature carton of rice.

I think the authentic menu has to be asked for if you go during lunch. Very large space, can fit larger groups of people nicely. I had the Ma Po Tofu, they were able to make it without pork for the vegetarian. Also had the Singapore Noodles. The waitstaff understood we wanted it made vegan and he understood that which makes it easier to order vegan food. Our table had the pork dumplings, beef short rib, and a beef stew with a lot of gelatinous chunks. The food was hot and very good. If you are in the Northern suburbs and are looking for more authentic Chinese food, here is definitely a spot to check out. They also have the robot servers to bring out your food. That was fun to watch! My favorite part was that we got sweet cut fruit align with our check instead of the cookies. That was a unique touch. Plenty of parking as its stand alone building.

We got there right when it opened and they were plenty of classic options on the buffet. They also have hibachi which I think is a really good touch. I do wish they had coconut macarons as I remember the previous once having them and those were my favorite. I always look for them at buffets. I also wish they had cream cheese wontons instead of just crab rangoons as I don't like crab. We also found the soft serve to be quite icy and not very creamy. We were a group of 4 and it seemed all the tables were for large groups but we didn't want a booth. I'm not sure if that was because it was a holiday or if that is the typical layout. Prices were reasonable, especially for the holiday. We will definitely return.

This is a stand alone restaurant with plenty of free parking! Walking in a noticed the restaurant was very clean, bright and new looking. There is a waterfall that goes into a pond in one of the corners and I definitely thought that was fun!! I also really liked how the serving station was its own "little building" in the center. The vibes here were actually really great! The person who took our money did not talk or smile. But our server was extremely friendly and quick! Always made sure I had my drink filled up and plates were taken away quickly! The food: And this is where it all fell apart. Had the server and the restaurant itself not been great, this would have easily gone to 1 star. I read another review stating "everything here is sweet" and I agree! 90% of there items were very sweet! There was a salad bar but we did not try it. The chicken here is very small pieces with little to no meat, just crunchy coating. The chicken wings had a light crisp to them, and they were large, but lacking any real flavor. There weren't many options for dessert. My biggest complaint was that certain items had "funny" or "strange" flavors to them.... Like the ice cream had a weird after taste. The French fries tasted freezer burned. They did have a kind of create your own stir fry, where you pick the items and someone cooks it (that's included in your price) may be that was better? This just fell short for me. There is a Panda Express going in next door and as much as it kills me to say (I love supporting small businesses) your money would be better spent there....

Cost wise, it was actually quite affordable for a food truck and there's even an option for a big ol' bucket of lumpia for $36. The downside was that I didn't like them at all. They're sour, are they supposed to be sour? I've had other lumpia's before and they didn't taste like this. It tasted like the meat had gone off and soured and was used to make the lumpia but I honestly can't tell if that sour taste was intentional or not. The pork skewers could have been great, they just needed a hit of salt to bring out the flavor. The lechon, not a lot of flavor and the garlic fried rice also needed a bit more umph.
