    Creating sushi

You will not be disappointed! Everything is great here. Service, ambience, and of course, the food. Lunch specials are very reasonable and it is a beautiful setting indoors and outdoors. Quality seems to be very high. Great variety on the menu. Something for everyone. Great parking enhances the overall low stress experience!

Meeting up with a friend for lunch and I made it very clear that I did not want to be the one to decide on a place, especially since we weren't going to be in my neighborhood. After the usual song and dance when no one wants to make the final decision, "Do you have a taste for anything?...what area would you prefer?...what are you hungry for?", the recommendation was made to get sushi from Bambou. And off we went. Ambiance Clean, simple, small booths, bigger tables, inside seating, outside seating (weather permitting). We went fairly early in the day so there was tons of natural lighting as well as some calm, dim lighting on the inside. Service Quick, kind, attentive...the holy trinity. They're not hovering over you but they are definitely not hard to find or get their attention if you need something. Food So...the order was rather extensive so I'll try to give you the "long story less long" version. Forgive me if I don't remember every single item and if i don't have a picture... - Crab Rangoon: banging! Crispy outer shell, with the soft cheesy interior - Rock Shrimp Tempura: amazing flavor, crunchy texture - Chicken & Pork Dumplings: standard pot stickerish dumpling. Good overall flavor. Solid choice - BBQ Spare Ribs: not what I was expecting. Thought it would have been the little ribletts that places often try to pass for "appetizer ribs." Nope! These were full sized, glazed, and perfectly cooked ribs! - Wild Ginger Roll, Rainbow Roll, Tiger Roll, Broiled Miso Cod Roll: *apologies in advance* so I grouped these all together because I don't remember the exact taste for each roll BUT I can give you some of my thought while eating... "Oh wow. That's really good" "The crunch on this one gives it a nice contract in the textures" "Whoa! Is that jalapeño?" "THIS ONE HAS ROE ON IT!!!" "Ooooouuuuu it's a little spicy...I LIKE IT!" - Coco Mojito: the name was too tempting not to try...and it didn't disappoint. Coco flavor, hints of mint, fizzy, refreshing mojito. Can't ask for much more than that. Overall I don't often try new sushi restaurants because it doesn't always turn out well for me, but I couldn't be happier that I found Bambou. Great food, great service, chill/calm vibe, doesn't kill my pockets, AND there's a parking lot! Now even though I've only been there for lunch, I can totally see me and the Mrs having a date night here. Until we meet again Bambou...

Two years since my last review-- and even with Covid, nothing has changed except that the outdoor seating is now covered and heated... Bambou remains our favorite restaurant in Greenwich, and when we were here last night, all five of us were trading bites and delights until we were so stuffed we could barely make it home! The Halloween Roll is back, and we highly recommend the Eggplant and Shrimp in garlic sauce, the beef satay and-- of course-- the "Mom Rules Roll." A new favorite last night (in addition to fried shrimp gyoza dumplings, our constant favorite of the Blue Crab Avocado appetizer, the crab rangoon, the Salmon Samba, etc etc) was the special appetizer of spicy tuna on wasabi wheat crackers. Wow! Sooo good! Honestly, even the kids were all asking if we can get back again before the visit is over, and we're only here this time for three days! I would eat here every day if I could-- they're THAT good! YUM!!

And to fit in with a crowd I don't belong to. Ashamed of myself? Never. Orienta is highly rated and beloved by locals. This is somehow takeout for some of the Greenwichites although in other territories nobody would ever dare takeout from such a lovely and lively ambiant. Suit jacket upon suit jacket crowd by the inside of the door, shaking each other's hands and sharing faux cheek pecks. I saw way too many salads hit tables even though they were probably very good. Anything to stay snatched, holla at boy. Excuse me, your man... gentleman. Pilates. Reformers. Hot yoga. Musical chairs at Orienta with everyone that walks by because somehow we know everyone in this town and we're all wearing the same clothes and speak the same and happen to be at Orienta on the same night and somehow decide to join each other all for dinner. Amazing town to study. Just amazing. Anyways - Bao Buns are very good, dumplings solid. Pad Thai is like a savory pad see ew / pad Thai combo - very nice. Their star savory crepe is very fresh tasting and the chicken inside the crepe is very very nice. Pricing is fair. Service was quick, the servers were nice but cautiously and potentially judgingly so if that makes sense. Like if you waved your mitts across their face their eyes would roll behind their sockets and they'd start hitting thriller. And maybe a Soulja boy... YOUUUUUUU. You should give this place a try. It's good. I wouldn't call it 5 star great though. I'd like to try a few more things but nothing really stood out, nothing really disappointed. For the local tribes it's straight vibes. For us outta towners, one go was enough but I won't say no to a second-go.

Immediately upon sitting down we saw that the prices were insane for what the menu items actually were. We ordered the shrimp tempura appetizer, which was $18 for 4 shrimp. It was very good, but worth it...? I don't know. The sweet potato croquettes had a great texture on the interior and exterior, but absolutely no flavor inside. The dim sum was delicious, but also overpriced for just 4 small soup dumplings. I ordered the stir-fried udon, and the noodles themselves were delicious, but the chicken was tough/overcooked and also had no flavor. The organic grilled chicken was a bit burnt on the outside and too salty. It was a $32 plate for just chicken and a few veggies-- it didn't even come with white rice or anything. For this price point, I'd expect that I'm paying for at least great service. But our waiter left us alone and only checked on us maybe twice the whole time? We were waiting about 15 minutes just to get the check because he'd completely disappeared. The restaurant wasn't crowded, and we were one of just two tables in the section, so I'm not sure why he left us alone for so long. Eventually, two other employees checked us out and packed our food after waiting that long. Overall, it was pretty disappointing and we left wishing we'd just gone somewhere else. I've gone to Japanese restaurants and had the same amount of food (if not more) for better quality, better service, and better price.

*Look on clipp.com for coupons!*…read more My favorite Chinese restaurant of all time is basically right next door so I never was compelled to try Aria considering I don't eat sushi, but I got a coupon in the mail and decided to try it with my mom. First off just to note, it is absolutely FREEZING in there. Probably good for the sushi station that is right out where the tables are but definitely plan on bringing a sweatshirt. I ordered the dumpling soup which was really good, nice and hot in a cold restaurant on a rainy day. My only complaint about it was that they didn't pull apart the cilantro leaves and I got a big mouthful with a sprig of it and it was unpleasant, even as someone who likes cilantro. A little goes a long way! I liked the beef negimaki, naturally its a bit hard to eat and chew but that's how it always is. The flavor was good, nothing above and beyond. Surprisingly, I was much more partial to my mom's chicken tempura than what I ordered and I would definitely order that instead next time, I really liked the flavor of the breading. I was too full and cold to get a dessert but they had tartufo and fried ice cream which I'd definitely come back to try! It isn't the best Asian restaurant in the area in my opinion but not bad!

Stepping inside of this high-class establishment with beautiful aesthetics that presented a well lite dining experience, through-out the restaurant, I found it to be a very relaxing and a welcoming environment. I was greeted and seated; the staff was very kind. I viewed the menu and chose Thai Crispy chicken rice bowl, the chicken satay, and a salad. The salad had a ginger dressing, and it was really tasty. I had the Satay chicken only because I tasted the Satay chicken at Boon Dee Moo Ka Ta. It tasted nothing like Boon Dee, so I found it the least and it was on the dry side, the Thai Crispy chicken was more on the bland side, but the jalapenos gave it a kick. This setting felt more like speed dating, instead it was speed eating.
