The desserts we get today weren't the same as the last visit. They were more liquid and ice in the cups than the actual ingredients described, VERY disappointed. I've order at Pandan (formally known as Bambu) located in Eden many times and their ice coffee is amazing. Seeing as Bambu/Pandan in eden coffeetasted the same even in the switch of names I assumed Bambu in Annandale would have a similar taste. Boy was I wrong. Coffee was weak and water. I knew there would be a wait and didn't mind but was disappointed since I ordered 4 iced coffee! Non of my coworkers could finished it because it was so bland. If you're hoping for a closer location the Pandan in Eden I recommend just driving to Eden. read more

Been here too many times to keep track. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Che and this place does it perfectly. So many wonderful creations, selections and customizations. Service is always friendly and quick. And if there's a short wait they've got games for you to enjoy. My boys like the Thai tea drink and mochi ice cream. They also sell affordable samples which is a wonderful idea. I just picked up a bunch for a party. My favorite is #2 and they're always kind enough to substitute the boba for red tapioca without any charge. The cashier was really helpful and accommodating. Vietnamese che is my all-time favorite dessert drink! I've been to Bambu locations in California and Chicago, so I was super excited when one opened up in Annandale. The che here is as good as I've had in other locations. They're generous with the toppings, everything is fresh, and nothing is too sweet. Pretty good place for chè but I feel it pales in comparison to other locations I've been to, both in VA and CA, previously. Personally, I enjoyed the Fruit Addict and Bambu Special but I was disappointed in the Bambu Combo. Parking is a pain because they are in that tiny lot with Kogiya and they only have about 3 spots, one of which is a 15-minute pick-up only. only. My boyfriend, daughter and I came here for the first time today to compare it to Kung Fu Tea which is the place we normally go to for Boba Tea. Hands down this place does not compare to Kung Fu Tea. I ordered what I usually order, which was the Taro Milk Tea with boba and it tasted so nasty, I couldn't even finish it. The milk tea was too concentrated and the boba tasted as if it had been sitting in water for ages. My boyfriend got the Coffee Milk Tea which he complained about being too bitter. After I tried some of his I couldn't help my face expression of disgust. It was WAY too bitter and watered down as some people have complained about on these comments as well. I also agree with another person who rated before me about not liking the fact they make the drinks in the back kitchen. Kung Fu Tea, or Ocha Tea off further down Little River Turnpike ALWAYS make their drinks openly without hiding them. The only good thing about this place is the cute little cozy vibes the inside brings with games such as foosball, connect 4, a deck of mega large cards to play with and an arcade game. Avoid this place. The woman is so rude. I ordered chai tea with tapioca. Tapioca is usually round gushy ball. Apparently this place does it differently So I got stuck with a drink that had crunchy weird stuff at the bottom of the drink. When I went to to her and asked her about this, she was rude and said "this is how ours is." I told her I didn't like it and if they had the round ones and she said no. Stopped in to give a try and place was fun and drink select is great. We got 6 drinks in total - 3 smoothies, 2 milk teas, and a #4 Summer Delight (with no mung bean). It was al delicious and quickly made. Even though we had things like no ice, extra bubble, etc. Place is nicely decorated too and had games out. read more

I recommend the mangonada, it's the only special drink this place has that other places don't have around the area. Other than that the prices for the Che and other drinks are too pricey, you can find cheaper alternatives in Eden with the same quality. read more

Used to go to the one at Eden Center but since now there's one in Annandale , it's much closer . It's next to Kogiya Korean BBQ in this roughed up little plaza . The drinks are okay , quite pricy for some Vietnamese dessert . I usually get the Bambu Special when I come . It's next to Kogiya. If you have been to the BAMBU in Eden, this is the same concept. They have che (Vietnames dessert), bubble tea, smoothies, and more. The store is not too busy. The staff was nice and friendly. We got durian smoothie, Taro lover che, green tea mochi ice cream, and Mangonada. We were adventurous but the mangonada just didn't fit our taste. It's sour, a bit sweet and salty at the same time. I don't think I will ever get that one again. Since we spent over $20, we got a panda waffle. It was a bit greasy. Overall, the dessert is not that terrible but tbh I could find better ones in Eden. read more

So we stopped by to pick up a treat after getting some banhmi and figured it was great so I can get a caffeine free bubble tea for my toddler. It took 30mins after ordering to get our order because they stated they were backed up with online orders which I get. But then they ran out of the taro bubble tea ( for my toddler) and instead of stating that, they replaced the drink without saying anything to us. My husband asked if it was caffeine free, which the worker said no. My husband asked for a refund and they stated it would take 10mins. Seriously 10 mins for a refund?! And the guy basically shooed my husband off. I understand they were busy but it already took so long, they didn't tell us they had no more taro bubble tea, no refund, and basically made it seem like they were doing us a favor by replacing the taro with whatever drink they replaced it with. Really expected more from this place. I ordered a Lychee Jelly specialty drink with boba. Let me begin by saying that I have been to other locations and have had great results. This location? Not so much. Maybe an off day? At any rate, my Lychee drink had large chunks of lychee that were not blended, meaning I needed to remove my lid and fish them out with my giant boba drink straw. Not fun when you're driving but luckily traffic sucks in VA so that bought me some time. The jellys in this drink were odd. They were neither jelly nor lychee in flavor. They tasted like strands of oatmeal that were both distracting from the flavor i desired most which was LYCHEE! Other issue here was that all I could taste was sugary water. No tea and barely lychee. Probably because blended lychee would have made it better. In retrospect, a lychee smoothie would have been more appropriate. At any rate, "we" (as in ppl like me and You reading this review), shell out $5 on average for a delicious boba drink and are often rewarded with that satisfying borderline authentic to synthetic flavored tea with chewy boba +/- jelly. Rarely are we disappointed, however when we are its angering. The style and recipe of drinks at this location could probably use a little massaging before I would ever return. Luckily, this spot is not the only game in town. I will entertain the idea of returning once I get word this place has upped its lychee drink game. read more

My husband and I come at least twice a week! Their milk teas are delicious! I personally am a sucker for their mango dazzle smoothie with mango jellies. You can add in jellies, boba , pudding and foam to any of their drinks making it totally customizable to your preference. Make sure to use your phone number to earn rewards! Unfortunately the mango milk tea that I got was terrible. There wasn't enough flavoring in the tea and the popping bubbles were wrinkly. They didn't let the popping boba expand enough. I think with the amount of competition in the area, there are definitely better places to find bubble tea. The service was good though. read more
