Sadly too much of anything ... you know how the saying goes, but ai digress. The gentleman server is always gracious, greets you with a smile, and he remembers you as a customer, so that's definitely a plus. The lines are always long, out front is mostly family oriented packed, so there's that. So many indicators that this is a place to stop at, after dinner, or a nice walk to the river. I usually get the boogie woogie, it's so scrumptious. Let's not forget the nostalgia down memory lane with the times piece objects advertising a trip to the drive in if any still existed. This place is cute, small, and memorable and really just perfect as it is. Last but not least... the music... that's really music. Dive in to this drive in... and see for yourself. I've chatted while waiting on line with folks visiting from out the country that has heard about this place to see what the hype is about, and I tell ya.., they had smiles on their faces.

The menu didn't seem to be as extensive as normal (see my pic), and I ordered a brownie sundae. It was $10 and didn't even come with a full brownie. There were a few chopped brownie bits which did not taste good on top of average ice cream. I didn't even finish the whole thing and took two bites and threw it out. For $10 I would have at least expected a whole brownie. The vanilla ice cream was nothing special. Cash only. No parking.

I stopped by this bakery on a Friday to pick up a birthday treat for my friend before our lunch. I…read moreusually go for cupcakes, but this time the chocolate cake in the display case immediately caught my eye. I stood there debating for a bit--looking at the cupcakes (carrot, red velvet, espresso) and even considering the macaroons, especially the chocolate one. But in the end, the chocolate cake kept calling my name, so I went with that. The woman helping me was really kind and even offered to give me a candle for the cake, which I thought was a nice touch. She boxed it up for me and didn't completely close the top of the box, which honestly made it feel a little extra special--like a sneak peek of the cake inside. I brought it to the restaurant where we were having lunch, and my friend was so happy when I surprised her with it. We shared it for dessert after our meal. I was a little nervous buying a cake I hadn't pre-ordered, but it turned out to be delicious--moist, rich, and perfectly chocolatey. There was a bit more frosting than I personally prefer, but the cake itself was gorgeous and tasted great. There was also a vanilla cake with rainbow sprinkles in the case that looked really tempting, but since my friend loves chocolate, I definitely made the right choice. She even compared it to a cake she had recently bought herself and said this one was better. I told her if she couldn't finish it, she could always freeze the rest and enjoy it later. That's actually what I like to do with leftover desserts--freeze them and pull them out when I'm craving a sweet treat. Overall, it was a great last-minute birthday pick and the cake was a hit. I'll definitely be back the next time I need a sweet treat--and honestly, I might have to try that vanilla cake with rainbow sprinkles because it looked so scrumptious!!

The bakery itself is quite spacious, and they also have a lot of seating on the outdoor sodewalk. There were many pastries and cakes on display, and I eventually decided on the cranberry orange scones and a mocha. It seemed to be a pretty upscale type of bakery, and I'm not sure how extensive their cakes and pastry selection is. I sat outside for a good 20 minutes just taking in the awesome weather today. The scone pastry and mocha were very delicious. There were about three people working here and the service was right on time.

The sandwiches (we got cucumber, chicken salad, and egg salad) were just ok, but scones were suprisingly delicious! They were warm and buttery, and not too dry. The chocolate croissant was boring and stale, and the pistachio macaron's texture was good but tasted a bit artificial. The passionfruit panna cotta was so good - creamy and perfectly tart. It was my favorite from the list. I also really enjoyed their teas - my cousin got the masala chai and I got the apricot oolong. Both were super delicious, and I would definitely choose the masala chai again. The flavor and spices were perfect. The service was decent and they were pretty quick to bring out the tea and snacks. Overall, I recommend Lady Camellia for a more budget-friendly option for afternoon tea.

Its location facing the water is great, but the space is way too cramped and the tables are overcrowded with flatware, sweeteners, condiments, and china. While I never expected the same level of tea service I've experienced in London, I was shocked at the dangerously inexperienced staff, who I watched pour boiling hot tea into the lap of one of our guests not once but twice while trying to set down the teapot. The nearly $80 pricetag is hardly justifiable for hot water and carbs in a cramped setting. This is a cute spot that evokes an American Girl Cafe with a view, but it would do well to better train staff to clear space on the table before trying to set down a full teapot or tiered serving stand and teach them to hold spouts away from customers who are mostly women clad in very thin, delicate dresses.

The menu leans traditional, with a variety of options that highlight classic French flavors. That said, it's a bit on the pricier side for the overall experience. I'd recommend Fontaine more for a specific occasion, like taking visiting parents, or if you're dining with someone who needs gluten-free options, as they have good choices. Overall, a quaint and inviting spot that brings a touch of France to Old Town.

To quote the great Tyra Banks: "I want to give you a zero, but that's not possible. So I give you a…read more1." Let's just say the food here was absolutely disappointing. All of the hip young girls in high school recommended this place to me and my friends and lets just say, they have never been more wrong. My girls and I went this weekend for a birthday brunch. I wanted a crepe, but when I saw it was 17 DOLLARS to slap some Nutella and strawberries on a piece of crepe is outrageous. I ordered a "Continental Breakfast," which, with tax and tip, cost me $30 DOLLARS. I wish you could have seen the look on my face when they gave me a plate of rabbit food. All 6 of us looked at the plate and laughed. Seriously, my 5 year old neice can eat 3 times as much of that in one sitting. So, in what world would that be enough food for a grown woman? My friend then went on to order the French toast for a grand total of $36 DOLLARS. Mind you, there was only one piece of toast, and the Inside was raw and soggy. Tasted like eating wet, soaked toilet paper. On top of the overpriced food and small portions, our "server" came to our table for a total of ONE SINGULAR TIME. My friend had also ordered a Chai Latte. Surprise, Surprise! It never came, and they still charged her for it. I think the nice man who brought us our food could see the look on our faces when we received our food, because he then brought us a free side of French fries. It is a huge problem when the french fries were the only sufficient thing I put in my mouth at this restaurant. I please, genuinely beg all of you to NOT waste your money. I promise there is anywhere else where you can get a crepe for double the size and half the cost. Once we left, we went down to Call Your Mother, the Jewish Deli, to get more food, as all of us left with our tummies still rumbling. Mind you, a full bagel sandwich and coffee cost HALF THE PRICE of one meal at Fontaine. Horrible. Mind you, it is 2 days later, and I am still thinking about this. I fully created a Yelp account just so I could leave a review. I think I would have a better experience eating an IHOP Continental breakfast than whatever I put in my mouth at this restaurant. Not worth the hype at all. Save your hard-earned cash and be a big baller elsewhere!
