However, I frequently order drinks at this location in the Great Wall Shopping Mall after purchasing groceries at the 99 Ranch Market. Whenever I visit BAMBU, I have trouble deciding what to order because the menu is extensive and the ability to customize is endless. I can honestly say there's something for everyone. My personal favorites are the Basil Seed Fruit Tea and the Mango Yogurt. The staff are friendly and service is quick! Boba and dessert place in the Great Wall Shopping Mall. Theres at least two other options for bubble tea in the mall and its hard to discern one from the other. But bambu does do a few things well - they have a large seating area. Its always been empty since Ive gone in too so its not a fight for space -their shaved ice dessert is very good -they have Vietnamese styled drinks Lately I've been on the binge for basil seeds and they have a few options on their wall of pictures that is essentially their menu. The fruit lemonade was not sour despite it being out of season and when the drink calls for sugarcane they juice it fresh. It was sweet and addictive with every sip. The coconut milk with a variety of toppings made it dense and flavorful. The texture of the toppings was soft, with some crunchy pieces in the panda jelly (not sure) as well. I was feeling full from a large dinner and still ended up drinking half it. I love boba drinks and smoothies with boba so I decided to try out BAMBU and I have to say I was not satisfied , the price for the quality of the drink was for sure not worth it . I tried their mangonada with black boba and I could barely taste the mango flavoring the boba was not all the way cooked or it could've been old boba. My fiancé got I believe the strawberry peach jade green tea with black boba as well and she just said it was okay and not worth the price so she wasn't entirely satisfied with her drink. The place itself is small but spacious in a way , it was clean and staff greeted upon ordering . The drinks were made pretty quick so that was a plus. I really really enjoy this Bambu spot. They are consistent and always fast. It doesn't hurt that it's located in an Asian market mall so there's always plenty of parking. As usual, I get one thing here only - the number 10: Bambu Favorite. It comes with red tapioca, Pandan jelly, grass jelly, coconut milk and ice! The ingredients tasted fresh and the red tapioca had a nice crunch and everything else was soft and chewy. Overall #10 for me has the best mouthfeel out of all their drinks. The regular size is basically a small cup for $5.95. If you want their large cup it's $1.50 upcharge. The store is also spacious and connected to a jerky store with plenty of seatings. Bambu is not my favorite Vietnamese dessert place but it's an acceptable alternative when I'm too lazy to make the drive to Che Dessert on MLK. I have tried a few of their che desserts and they are pretty good for the most part. Having said that, today was not so good - 2 of my 3 orders were not acceptable. We ordered pennywort juice, Che Thai and sugarcane juice with kumquat less ice. Pennywort juice was good, Che Thai was pretty bland and I could barely tasted the sugarcane in the sugarcane juice. It was very watered down more like brown sugar and water. I would still go back there for Che but definitely will not order sugarcane juice there again. read more

Been here like a million times without any issue but the experience today was super unacceptable. I ordered the number 1 that was supposed to have the pandan jelly. They forgot to put that in for me and I only realized about it when I got home. The coconut water was also less sweet than usual (didn't even put the ice in). Calling the store, the helper was really nice and after taking down my phone number and name, she mentioned when I come back, just explain the situation and they would make me a free drink for this mistake. I thought offering a refund would be more reasonable but that was still a fine solution. But then an hour later I got a phone call back. They said the manager would only want to offer a free topping next time not a free drink. This is just Wow! This cannot be what people were raving about right? I'm sorry but it's literally just store bought rice paper cut into strands of plastic texture. It rice paper hardened and has become inedible. Not sure if it was made previous day or what but I taste texture of how a day-old spring roll left in the fridge would be. Absolutely horrible and inedible. Sad. Such a horrible idea of a dish that cost 9$. Its three ladies brand store-bought rice paper cut in straight strands dipped for a second in water and all moisture have already evaporated that leaves a chewy, plastic, and hard texture that you cannot bite through. After about 2-3 minutes of waiting, I get called to the front and am told that the replacement will cost 75 cents extra, which has never been the case at any of the other Bambu locations or this one (literally was here last week, same order, no price difference). I told her I didn't have cash just a card and she said, "I can cancel your transaction..." (there is a bunch of people in line now), I told her to just do the milk instead of the juice because I didn't want to deal with canceling and reordering. I'm wondering why the guy ringing me up didn't tell me of the price difference or why they just didn't give me what I ordered because it was their mistake. I could tell the girl felt bad but she didn't do anything to make it better. I understand protocol but it isn't consistent (at different locations- I understand but st the same one?).
