Really cool themed cafe for bananas!! 5 stars for the ambiance, 4 stars for the drinks. Bf and I had the Shaken banana latte and the dirty banana mylk. I liked the dirty mylk more bc I actually liked the coffee offset with the subtle banana flavor. Bf liked the shaken latte bc it tasted more like banana The straws were so interesting too! Like bamboo kind of which fit well with the theme. Service was fast, thank you for getting our drinks out fast on a hot summer day!!
I have been on a quest to quench my craving for the best banana-inspired latte...and I dare say Banana Dang is the BEST! I tried the iced shaken banana and let me describe in detail: 1. totally natural yet balanced banana flavor 2. silky smooth texture (can liquid be a texture?) 3. the perfect espresso to milk to ice ratio (ideal latte color) the staff was welcoming, friendly, and super chill - expect a relaxed vibe in the cafe! they provided great recs and I can't wait to try the entire menu. yes, this spot is worth the drive or walk or bike as someone who has tried a crazy amount of banana lattes in the SD & North County areas. obsessed is an understatement!
Banana Dang has been around forever and I'm happy to see it hasn't changed much since when it first opened. It is a cute little shop with plenty of seating and a full menu of food/drink. Obviously they specialize in all things banana, so you can find many smoothies, toasts and drinks with it. I went for the toast + iced banana latte with oat milk. Everything was really good, definitely one of the best banana lattes i've had. It is very well balanced between the espresso and banana flavor. The toast was really good and bigger than expected. I would've loved some salt and pepper and maybe a bit more flavor on it.
All I can say is dannnnnnnggggg. I'm more of a strong bold viet coffee kinda person but their coffee is just as good. I got the banana shaken latte. Very mild banana flavor added an extra touch to the coffee. I also got the banana toast with rosemary bread. Also very good. Service was fast. I also liked the unique decor and their bathroom sign that I took a picture of.
The banana latte here is absolutely to die for. We stumbled upon this gem while walking around Oceanside and fell in love. Super cute interior, incredibly friendly service, and amazing drinks. I wish I lived closer, but now I just have a great excuse to visit Oceanside more often!
Came back with my husband and had to update my review. I feel like Banana Dang has leveled up or something. Much better vibes and friendlier staff. Food and drinks are still good. I tried the Green Fire, which was really yummy. Also had a cappuccino. This has become one of my favorite spots when I'm in Oceanside. I just love the art, the chillness, the banana-theme, the community flavor. This time I saw they had some free stickers and a sheet with recommendations for other businesses to check out in Oceanside. Super cool. See you next time BD!
What a fun and quirky coffee shop. Staff is so friendly and welcoming. My matcha was okay. I'm sure the coffee drinks or smoothies are better. I love that they use hay straws!
I love their Banana Iced Shaken Espresso! It's a different combination that I would never think to have, but the banana pairs perfectly with the espresso. The baristas are friendly here and prepare your drinks with much TLC. It has seating on the inside. There is art on the walls along with an area of merchandise that can be purchased. Tote bags, tee shirts etc. When I want something different from an ordinary latte, I come here. Also, you can order this drink half-sweet if that suits you. The only downside is that parking is sometimes difficult. However, with that being said, if you've never tried the banana- espresso combination, this is the place to do it!

I'll admit, the banana and avocado combo sounded a little strange at first, but one bite completely changed my mind. It was easily one of the most delicious and unique things I've ever tried--my taste buds were seriously blown away. The latte was solid too--smooth coffee with a subtle hint of banana flavor. I also noticed they offer smoothies, which I'd love to try next time, and their hay straws were such a cool concept! The seating area was comfortable, and I liked that they had board games like connect 4 available--it added a fun, relaxed vibe. The service was great as well; the cashier had such a friendly and positive energy. I'll definitely be coming back!

I love banana flavor stuff so I knew I had to try this place out. We went later in the day so it want that busy. We tried an Iced Chai, Blue Banana Mylk and Dirty Nutty Dang. All the drinks were delicious. The Blue Banana Mylk is cool and actually tastes great. Looks like there's lots of room inside to hang out or work.
Neat little banana themed cafe right outside the Pendelton South base area. Service is friendly and efficient. I got myself a peanut butter banana smoothie of sort. It wasn't too sweet and gave me just enough carbs to power through an incline heavy hike. Surprisingly, the cafe has no banana milk! Unbelievable! Street parking is available and Amex taken. Too bad it's not dog-friendly and everything tends to be on the sweeter side of things.
Banana Dang in Oceanside is an absolute gem. Parking is street parking only, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a spot right in front of the shop, which already felt like a good omen. I ordered the banana latte with two extra pumps of banana (because if you're going to Banana Dang, you commit), along with the gluten-free concha--and wow. The concha was hands-down the softest, freshest gluten-free concha I've ever had, and it paired perfectly with the banana latte. Not dry, not crumbly, just pillowy and comforting in the best way. The shop itself is cozy and inviting, and the chairs were actually comfortable enough that I stayed and finished everything inside instead of rushing out. It's one of those places that quietly encourages you to slow down and enjoy what you ordered. I'm visiting from Maui, and as someone who genuinely loves banana, this spot made me very happy. Thoughtful flavors, cozy atmosphere, and a menu that clearly knows what it's doing. I'd absolutely come back and will be recommending this place to anyone who appreciates a well-done specialty latte and an exceptional gluten-free pastry.
We visited Banana Dang around 2:40 pm on a Sunday and it wasn't busy. We street parked across the street and walked over. The interior is really fun and full of interesting decorations, so I enjoyed looking around while we waited for our drink. My only issue with the space was how hot and humid it felt inside. It was already a warm day, but the breeze outside actually felt more comfortable than being in the shop. We ordered the Shakened Banana. I can definitely see the appeal, and I liked the flavor of the coffee itself, but the combination of banana and cinnamon just wasn't for me. Nothing about it was bad, it just wasn't a flavor profile I personally enjoyed enough to order again. I still think it's worth trying if the drinks sound interesting to you! read more

The funky vibe radiates "beach town chill" and their menu echos that sentiment. I come here weekly for the Shakened Banana drink, a delicious concoction of iced espresso, honey, banana puree, cinnamon and oat milk. I also love their dirty banana mylk, chocolate chip banana bread, and the cinnamon toast. To be frank, all of their stuff is too notch. Service is great and the staff is friendly. This place was introduced to me by an old friend, and I'll be honest--I never fully got into it before since I'm not really a coffee drinker. In between, the leader is a servant -- Max de Pree I met a potential business colleague here who represents churches wanting to develop affordable housing. It was an introductory meeting, we will see if he has any sites worth considering. Seemed like a nice dude. This was a perfect place to meet because they have plenty of seats and they serve more than coffee. In fact the banana strawberry smoothie I had, while very expensive, was also one of the best smoothies I've ever ordered. Well done everyone! Tried the Banana Latte and Banana Date Smoothie. The Banana Date was definitely the standout! Great flavor and really nice texture. The Banana Latte was good too, but the banana flavor was pretty subtle. The space has very cool decor with plenty of seating, and parking was free street spots. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but overall a solid spot, especially for the smoothie. read more

Such a cute concept about incorporating banana in almost everything on the menu. I will say...the wait can get pretty long and the people there are super chill. Thus, they are working a normal pace not super rushed which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Happy Accident coming here! I've been wanting to try this place for awhile but it's pretty far from my house. We were running errands and parked near by, so we grabbed some coffees. I loved the concept of this place- it combines two things I love, Bananas and Coffee Shops! The shop was busy when I came and the cashier/barista was super sweet and kind- one of friendliest I've met! I tried their popular, Shakened Banana and had some sips of the Blue Banana Mylk. The Shakened Banana has coffee in it and it pairs well with the Banana flavor. Overall, it was a good drink to walk around town with. Their Blue Banana Mylk was super delicious! It has no caffeine/coffee; just oat milk blended with bananas, blue spirulina, and probably some other ingredients. It was a thick consistency, but so good!! I love the originality and character of this place. I'm so glad I visited the "World's First Banana-Inspired Specialty Coffee House!" Keep it up! read more

This place is yummy! I got a chocolate banana smoothie and it was so good and flavorful Staff was nice but not very attentive, you can tell they get busy and can't completely give undivided attention to each costumer always. Place is super cute and nicely decorated, their whole theme so decorated throughout and the parking can be a challenge. Definitely will come back read more

I would 100% recommend this place!! In truth, I am a huge fan of banana, however this shop is worth coming to even if you don't like banana! The shop is unique and homey in itself is come for what the shop stand for as well through everything that is displayed on the handouts they have in shop! They care about their roots as well as sustainability! Would highly recommend this business! The latte was perfect. Not too sweet and had the perfect banana flavor! I wish I was closer to this shop so I could come more often! Fun place to be with great food and great vibes! read more

I got the banana latte & it was so good. Anytime there's a banana flavor coffee I will order that. So I was psyched to find a coffee shop that does mainly that. So good & so smooth. Wish they weren't so far because I want one now! Next time I'll have to buy the bags of coffee they sell to make at home. read more

Unique Fun menu items for smoothie, coffee, & food choices when you want something healthy. Love the toast items to choose from as well as the many smoothie choices that I usually custom choose and the staff is really friendly when asking about menu items. I've tried all the toast items and love the banana for sweet or the avocado one when I want something salty. The smoothie was flavorful & healthy packed with proteins. There is some sitting space at bar to get the nice street view or some tables and chairs. read more

A local favorite for many -- my first time here and honestly, would come back! I'm not a huge banana fan because I feel like it overpowers any other flavor; HOWEVER, the Shaken Banana (shaken espresso with brown sugar banana and oat milk) is something I'll be craving on the regular. Omg why did I just now try this what is wrong with ME!!!! One of a kind perfect surf town vibe coffee shop. Lovedddd everything about this place. This hasss to be local community coffee shop, you could feel the warmth of the Oceanside community in this shop. I loved the amount of detail and care they put into this shop like the hand drawn menu cards and the local food guide. It really showed that they're not just a standalone cafe, but an active hub for the community. The drinks themselves were really yummy. The banana latte was a really good coffee with subtle banana flavors seeping through each sip. This was really good to me bc it didn't taste like super artificial banana syrup, tasted like real bananas. The Thai tea was also pretty authentic and very sweet, so if you typically like a more subtle Thai tea def try to adjust sugar! I was expecting my banana date shake to be a bit better, I like my date shakes smooth- what I got was chunks of dates blended with banana, if they could put a little liquid in first then blend the dates to make a paste and then add the other ingredients I think they would have impressed me- read more
Maybe its the item i tried but i didnt love this place. Ive heard a lot about them from instagram so i was very eager to try their coffee. I love banana flavor and took the recommendation of the girl taking my order in terms of a coffee thats strong in banana flavor. My latte was sort of sour. I was aware they used fresh banana puree but the texture of this drink was slimy and not pleasant and the flavor tasted like fresh unripe banana. Not sure if i would come back but perhaps their other items might be better. read more

I'm looking for a great place to get some coffee and spend about 6 hours studying, is this a good spot? I'm reading the reviews and it sounds great. Are the tables big enough for me to get down with the mid-term cram?
