What a gem inside a parking lot. Love the different syrup options. I had to try the ginger and fig with my hot latte. Inside has a vintage feel with items to purchase not coffee related. It's a great vibe with great tasting coffee and quick service.

Listen. If I don't have to trust an old, weathered sign that directs me down an alley, past a closed rub & tug massage parlor, around a port-o-potty and into a parking lot before the coffee shop itself is unveiled, then I don't want coffee. Interim is a tiny but cozy, half-hidden caffeine oasis in Carlsbad Village with top notch bean water and assorted morning bites. You can't go wrong. Might make a wrong turn though.

Shhh! It's one of the few gems that are still hiding in Carlsbad Village. Interim serves up get great quality coffee and espresso with homemade simple syrups. If you want something on the sweeter side then try the ginger fig latte. It's both unique and satisfying! The two owners are really cool and will be happy to tell you their origin story if you ask. They're only open 8am to 2pm so I only make it in on occasion, but I always like grabbing an americano or a bag of their roasted coffee beans. It's nice spot year round because it's quaint and relaxing even on days when Carlsbad Village is crowded and bustling.

Super tiny spot. Nice that it had it's own parking lot. Can't fit that many people inside, you'll line up and place your order and get it before leaving. Got an iced americano and a latte for a little walk on the beach. Overall, it was alright.

Front walk up very cute and inviting.

Excellent coffee. Just a walk up coffee shop with a few table outside. Very friendly staff and convenient small shop near the boardwalk. Enjoyed a vanilla latte and a white top. If you just want a coffee to go this is the place.

Perfect coffee spot before going out to the beach. I ordered a hot Mocha. Was very delicious. The owner was super friendly. They make their own coffee and Syrup along with other things.

One of the best lattes i've had in awhile! This place is a total gem and you probably wouldn't catch it unless you were looking for it. It's a tiny shop that can't fit more than 2-3 people. Really great medium roast coffee and love how walkable it is to the beach. It's in the same back parking lot as Knockout pizza/coldstone/etc. Make your way to this coffee shop if you get a chance!

Perfect curtado cup! There is a small thumb indent for easier sipping!

Small, quaint, friendly, a perfect cup! What a nice surprise to find this spot. 3 small tables outside, a friendly guy serving up the juice!

Gorgeous plants in vintage tins and pottery create a cheerful entrance.

Hands down, best coffee in Carlsbad. We've sipped our way around Carlsbad this weekend. Smooth, flavorful cappuccino with whole milk. The interior of this place is charming with vintage pictures, tins, cameras and other cool items for sale or just admiration.

Cute little inconspicuous coffee shop located in the parking lot right off the 101 in carlsbad village. Pretty much a retro vibe with friendly service and some pretty solid brew. There's a ton of amazing coffee shops in the area, I would put this on the list if you're looking for something super localish with a bit less foot traffic.

Interim Coffee is a little tricky to find, but it's definitely worth the effort. I had a great almost-a-latté mocha. (Light syrup)

However, my friends from North County highly recommended this establishment and kindly invited me to join them. The outdoor seating is spacious and inviting, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The friendly service adds to the overall experience. Initially, I was contemplating getting a coffee, but my friend insisted on trying the matcha. And let me tell you, you won't regret it. As I mentioned earlier, I'm not usually a fan of matcha, and I often end up regretting it and discarding it. But this time, I was pleasantly surprised. I was thoroughly satisfied and regained my trust in matcha. My friend opted for pastries, and she thoroughly enjoyed them, even devouring them.

This place has such a loyal following that people will happily walk a few blocks just to get their Revo fix. One of my favorite things is their seasonal menu. I've learned to fully embrace each special while it's here because once it's gone, it's gone. Right now, I'm completely obsessed with the Coconut Mango Sticky Rice Matcha. I'm pretty sure the baristas recognize me as "the Sticky Rice Matcha lady" at this point! I'm soaking up every sip while it's in season, and although I'll be sad when it's gone, I know they'll surprise me with something amazing next season. Their food is just as impressive. The toast is delicious, they use Prager Brothers bread, organic avocado, and fresh tomatoes, and you can really taste the difference that quality ingredients make. It's refreshing to find a café that clearly cares about food integrity. Another huge bonus for me is that they offer almond milk. So many coffee shops default to oat milk, but I appreciate having another option that fits my preferences. The only downside is the parking. My strategy is simple: go early if you can. Once it gets busy, finding a spot can be an adventure. But even with that minor inconvenience, Revolution Roasters is absolutely worth the trip. Incredible coffee, thoughtful seasonal drinks, quality ingredients, and a team that clearly cares about what they serve. Easy five stars.

Mike and the entire team at Dreamwave are doing such an incredible job of making the experience worth every penny. The quality of the coffee, the work they do, and the service they provide is truly top tier. While they do have a lot of fun flavors, this is not the kind of place that drowns the palate with sweetness. They expertly balance the ratio of syrup, milk, and espresso to provide the best outcome. The nuttiness of their roast really shines, and they're always happy to adjust the sweetness if you need them to. Personally, I love the lower sweetness level being the default. These guys know what they're doing! We've been visiting for the past week and have stopped through Dreamwave four times this week. While I'm always in the need of a coffee fix, we've gone out of our way to visit multiple times because the people have been so beyond kind. We ordered the Smoked Salmon Tartine, and it was SO good -- farmer's cheese, capers, pickled onion and dill on their sourdough. Honestly, the food was top tier. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked amazing, and after trying the bread we actually ended up buying some to take home! For drinks, we had a matcha latte with oat milk and the canned nitro cold brew. Just a heads-up for my fellow coffee people: the cold brew isn't made in-house, but that didn't stop it from being really good! We liked the coffee so much that we actually went over to the local coffee shop that supplies their beans afterward and bought some beans to take home. And definitely don't skip the bakery. The chocolate chip cookie was delicious, and the chocolate croissant had that super crispy, crackly exterior. I personally would have loved a little more filling to make it slightly more moist, but that's completely subjective -- if you love a crispier croissant, you'll probably LOVE it. The atmosphere might have been my favorite part. It's beautiful, calm, inviting and just has that perfect Carlsbad coastal café vibe. Between the food, fresh bread, pastries and atmosphere, this is absolutely somewhere I'd come back to whenever we're in the area.
