Obsessed. Coffee, tea, plants, and the ocean nearby. A combination that makes my heart incredibly happy. Located at The Brick Hotel, a beautifully weathered brick building. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the scent of damp soil and espresso, two of my favorite aromas. The space is small but bursting with personality, the kind of place that invites you to slow down. Succulents spill from shelves and corners, turning the space into a living, breathing sanctuary. Nearly everything is available for purchase, and with so many unique pieces, it's hard to leave empty-handed. The barista had such a gentle warmth and made us truly delicious lattes. We loved admiring all the beautiful, quirky works of art before strolling to the beach, which is only a few minutes away. If I lived nearby, I'd absolutely be a regular. Oceanside has so many great coffee shops and this is one of them! It's such a unique gem of a coffee shop! I'm obsessed with succulents and this coffee shop is full of them! Service was amazing and the coffee was just as great! My husband ordered a pumpkin spiced dirty chai latte, my kids ordered lavender lemonades and I ordered a dirty chai latte...so delicious!!! I brought my friend, a certified plant lady visiting from out of town, to Succulent Cafe after spotting it on Yelp--and wow, it did not disappoint! I'd been to the cocktail bar Frankie's out front before, but this was my first time exploring the cafe behind it. The vibes here are incredible! Plants everywhere, gorgeous photo ops around every corner, and yes, you can even buy some of these beauties to take home! We ordered coffees, and our barista was super friendly and welcoming. My friend got a hot lavender latte (half sweetened) while I went for the iced salted caramel latte. Both were perfection! We were honestly in love with everything: the coffee, the ambiance, the plants, and the good vibes. If you're in Oceanside and love plants or just want a unique, chill spot to grab a coffee, Succulent Cafe is a must-visit. Highly recommend! read more

This succulent cafe is the cutest! Super chill and a nice spot to grab a drink and relax. You can even purchase some of the succulents which is great. The person who took our order also made our coffee. I ordered a lavender latte and tasted some lavender, but it was quite light. Not sure what coffee beans are used, but the caffeine pick me up was lacking.. The menu is at the cart, so you'll have to walk up the stairs and up to the cart to see the menu. Coffee/drinks only. No food. Restroom is in the brick hotel. read more

I came to the Succulent Coffee and enjoyed this small & mostly hidden gem of a café and found it to be unique in its theme and very appropriate for those who want to enjoy their caffeine within a quaint & mostly quiet location. The Succulent Coffee is located in Downtown Oceanside, and can be entered either from The Brick Hotel, Stone Brewery or from a side entrance doorway that leads to Tremont St. It's precise location is BEHIND Frankie's Bar and in the space between Stone Brewery. It's rather quaint really. This spot is a gem for those who love greenery and succulent plants. The interior decor and walls is based on this theme and there are many for sale too. It also has an open-roof concept that allows for ample sun lighting. The interior is also elongated and narrow , with a small nook n cranny alley that focuses on more succulents. It's a very unique concept. The menu is very simple and straightforward. There's table seating with simple chairs. I would not consider this an "internet café", but more like a place to enjoy caffeine with greens There's only 1 worker and that's the owner. He is friendly when you get to know him and although the brand is a chain, this café definitely gives off "small owner" vibes. *Update: As I've just learned from the owner, I was corrected and happy to announce that this is NOT a chain and is, indeed, a small family business * Overall, I enjoyed my chai tea and this is nice spot for a caffeine pitstop. read more

A peaceful little outdoor corridor shop with seating, heat lamps, & free wifi. Only cash & Zelle accepted for now; I prefer the ol' dirty green. It sounds like they've only been open at this location for a few weeks, waiting on other payment processing & probably food options. There was no drip coffee, so I went with an Americano. This is a cute little coffee shop attached to the hotel. Peter served me, he made the best hot London dog I've tasted in a while. It's nice and quiet and surrounded by succulents. This spot is such a hidden gem. The gentlemen who was running the coffee shop was very friendly and accommodating. I needed a quiet place to do work (with internet) and drink coffee and this place hit all of the wickets. Even after they closed he said I could stay as long as I needed to. I will come back next time I'm in Oceanside and recommended this place to everyone I speak to. Oh yeah and to top it off the coffee is on par as well. read more

Ambiance is great, coffee was honestly undrinkable. Americano tasted like dishwater and much too hot. I had to wait 30 minutes to be able to take a drink and then I had to throw it out. Also no desserts or foods. They recommend your go across the street to Madeline's and they aren't wrong!! i've been coming here for YEARS, hands down my favorite coffee spot in Oceanside. majority of the…read moregirls are some of the sweetest girls!!! unfortunately i've had two separate problems with one specific employee- the first incident was months ago, the girl taking my order rudely told me to "speak up", not "can you speak up? i can't hear you" or "could you please speak up? i can't hear you" just simply "speak up". today, i heard that same girl and another employee bad mouthing another one of the girls there. it was a really uncomfortable, unprofessional and an all around unfortunate situation. you never know who knows who so please be mindful of what's being said when a customer is at the window!!! (three stars bc i love my coffee, supporting local and majority of the girls there)

The only downside I would note is the noise level is a bit on the higher side even with noise cancelling headphones, difficult to study or take meetings here. It's much more of a social or grab and go coffee shop. The offer discounts for teachers, first responders, and transit workers as it is conveniently located across the street from Oceanside Transit Center. They also have a points system tied to your phone number. Would come back for coffee!

However I really did not enjoy the coffee as it was extremely watery. Unfortunately it was more expensive than a fancier latte I had from Camp Coffee that same day. I would come back and try some of the food just to be able to enjoy the space but likely won't get coffee again

I waited 30 minutes for my cortado - which tasted absolutely horrible. It was burnt and awful, I couldn't bring myself to finish it when I tried.. The mint iced coffee was off too (we've had better at other locations).. Other people (before and after us) were growing furious and impatient. While the person at the register was friendly and kind - the speed and turn around time for drinks was lacking. There seemed to be no sense of urgency even as the line inside grew longer and longer - both the line to order and the line at the pickup counter. A family of four was seated at a table when we walked in. When we left, I noticed someone from that particular table walking up to the pickup counter still waiting for their drink... If I waited 30 minutes for my drink, how much longer did they wait? Yikes! It might've been an off day, who knows, but it was pretty terrible. All in all, while the food is good and the location is convenient - I will probably stick to ordering items on the menu vs. ordering something like a cortado for any future visits.
