I heard about Dayon for some time now and decided to give it a try. As a banana latte lover, I liked it but didn't like the taste of the espresso and was disappointed there was no banana puree like the other local coffee shops. I think if these things changed it would make the latte better. Service was great. They were friendly and fast! Spam masubis were very good imo. 10/10 rating for sure! They actually season the rice and it tasted freshly prepared. read more

The name says it all: "Dayon" means "Welcome/Come in" in the Bisaya dialect, and this coffee shop truly lives up to its inviting name. I first discovered them at the Sunday O'side Harbor Market and was instantly hooked. While I'm disappointed they are no longer serving there, I'm thrilled to see them settling into their new, permanent location on Vista Way. Dayon is a great addition to North County, specializing in a selection of coffee, tea, and smoothies paired with delicious and unique pastries. Everything feels thoughtfully prepared and is the perfect fuel for starting your day or taking an afternoon break. Plus, for those of us who hate hunting for parking spots, the location offers ample parking. I love supporting small businesses, especially those owned by Filipinos. Dayon coffee co, Pop-up cafés can be a fresh and interesting concept for customers, but unfortunately the drinks here weren't very impressive. I ordered the ube drink with matcha foam. Ube is one of my favorite flavors, but this one didn't taste fresh. The matcha foam was okay, but nothing special. Sitting outside and watching cars pass by was actually quite nice and refreshing. The price of the drinks felt a bit high compared to other nearby cafés, especially considering the quality wasn't anything standout. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and energetic. read more

I was excited to check this place out with my coworkers. Unfortunately, I got the Hojicha latte with almond milk and was very disappointed. When it came out, I was confused because the color was lacking. It looked like it didn't have any Hojicha mixed in the milk? But there actually was some because I saw remnants of the powder. Maybe they got the ratios messed up? The Hojicha lattes I'm used to have a dark brown hue. Also, prior to ordering, I asked the girl if it would be sweeten and she said yes.... I don't think they added any sweetener either. I was straight up drinking an $8 iced milk. My coworkers weren't that pleased with their matcha drinks either. Oceanside now has a new Filipino café. Dayon Coffee Co is a small, family owned coffee cart that is located just north of the 78 highway and near the building of 5.11 Tactical. Because Dayon Coffee is operating out of a yellow coffee cart, they are situated within a rarely used parking lot, and you must look for their yellow flags by the road entrance. They have managed to create a nice atmosphere with some chairs and tables and will soon be adding some fencing and other decorations to make it cozier. The service is friendly and they have patience with all my inquiries. Dayon Coffee Co serves many delicious Asian and Filipino inspired flavors on their menu. They are known for having Ube pastries & coffee, as well as Matcha and other unique flavors for their lattes. They also have a variety of lemonade drinks, and they also have the capability to order online and a reward program. I recommend their seasonal special drink known as "The Dirtbag", which contains a flavorful blend of Oreos and Ube. Surprisingly, customers even have access to use of the restrooms that are located in the 5.11 Tactical store that is in the same parking lot. Overall, I really enjoy DAYON Coffee Co & the variety of flavors at this Filipino café, and I also appreciate supporting a small family business. read more

My husband and I were driving by for ever on the daily and we finally decided to check it out. I'm so glad that we did! As soon as I saw Ube and matcha on the menu I was immediately sold and knew we would have to be regulars. First of all, our barista was so genuine and kind! She explained everything about how they create their drinks and gave options and ideas on creating our own. Although they were out of a few syrups, she gave us great alternatives! Just means we will have to go back to try the other options too. I ordered the Ube milk tea with a matcha cold foam top. We were told it wasn't super sweet and we received the suggestion to add in strawberry syrup and it was all delicious! I will say that it was sweet enough for me without the strawberry syrup, but I typically do my milk teas with 25% sweetness and don't always add sweeteners to my matcha either. Overall though it was absolutely delicious! Just as yummy as it looked. My husband ordered the Ube latte and doesn't like very sweet coffee so he opted to add no syrups and he loved it. His latte was so good just as is, for us both. There are some seating options next to the cart and plenty of parking in the share lot with 5.11. We can't wait to go back more often to try everything as the drinks look so good! read more

I ordered a matcha latte with vanilla syrup and matcha cream top, and was pleasantly surprised! Matcha was made to order using traditional whisk method and wasn't too sweet. Cream top paired perfectly with the matcha. Dayon is a small food stall in the parking lot but had a cute setup with small tables and umbrellas. Parking was very easy, and service was friendly - they even gave us a free ube cookie while waiting for our drinks. This just might become my go to matcha spot in oceanside. Cute pop-up here in Oceanside. I called to verify before driving since it's far from me but they didn't pick up. They said to text but no one replied within that 20 minute drive of mine. They close at 3 and I arrived at 2:15 pm but they ran out of 2 flavors already (ube and macadamia nut). It would've been my top choices but didn't get to taste it at all. They also don't have any pastries. Like 0 of the 5/6 options. I ended up trying the salted caramel latte and the flavor was underwhelming. As much as I wanna try this spot again, idk if the other flavors are gonna be underwhelming as well. :( I give it 1 star for the cute look and another 1 for such promising flavors. If I see others commenting of improving and being more flavorful, I will come by again to check it out and put an update. By then, I'd hope though that they have all their flavors as advertised until closing time. read more

Passed by Dayon Coffee stand so many times on our way to work and finally decided to stop in today! It's a small family-run spot parked over by 5.11, and its a neat little place to stop in for your morning fix. I got the Spanish iced latte and it was 100% amazing. The foam was creamy with the perfect sprinkle of cinnamon on top, not sugary/syrupy at all. LOVED it. My husband went with the ube latte after a friend recommended it, and he loved it, I snuck a sip and fully approve of his choice. Both drinks really hit the spot and tasted high quality! Plus they have a rewards card that you can stamp every time you get a drink. We are super lucky they set up shop so close to us. They're also at the Sunday Fish Market in Oceanside Harbor and the Sunset Market, which is great because now we know we can grab their drinks at our favorite weekend spots too! Made it point to stop and try this new to me coffee trailer as most of us are all about supporting small business vs corporate. I opted for the macadamia but latte, iced, with oat milk while also grabbing an ube bread. The owner, I assume, mentioned that the bread is made with real ube which got me excited. I'll point out that the portion size for the treat are just perfect and not oversized, which I honestly appreciate. Service was awesome and the coffee and treat was amazing. Drinks are good, matcha did oxidize a little due to it being pre-made. I would just suggest an ice bath so it doesn't have the bitter taste. Overall, the flavor is amazing. Drive by Dayon Coffee almost all the time and always made a mental note to stop by, well today my boyfriend and I did and i'm so glad! As someone who used to work for corporate coffee shops, I love finding small businesses and i can't wait to see what Dayon becomes! Onto the actual experience,, menu is simple yet unique. You have basic coffee for those espresso lovers and specialty latte's, as well as energy drinks! which I will have to try next time. I ordered the Macadamia Latte, my boyfriend got a Mocha and I also ordered the Chocolate Banana latte. Highly recommend the Macadamia latte, it wasn't too sweet but still had that flavor and it was half way gone before I even got home! Mocha latte and Chocolate Banana were also so delicious and beautiful with the whipped cream and dried banana on top. Service was great! I will never complain about waiting for a good quality drink but we received our drinks so quick and they tasted amazing! And when we were offered a stamp card i was hooked! Dayon Coffee is easily one of the best coffee spots in the area. The warm, welcoming atmosphere and friendly environment make it a place you'll want to keep coming back to. They put so much care into the quality of their coffee and their Filipino specialty drinks, it's all flavor and quality you just won't find elsewhere. I highly recommend stopping by their cute coffee trailer or visiting one of their pop-up events. You won't regret it! they truly deserve all the love they get. Their homemade ube drinks are amazing, and the Filipino treats pair perfectly with all their yummy drinks. Was excited to try this place and finally gave it a shot at sunset market. Ordered the ube matcha and it was very underwhelming :(. Unfortunately the matcha flavor was lacking and it mainly tasted like milk :(. I decided to give them a second chance at the vista way location and ordered a ube latte and ube bread. The bread was good would get it again but the latte again was sadly very disappointing :( there was No ube flavor, a slight coffee taste and again it tasted more like milk. For the price point I can't justify giving them yet another try but I really do hope they take this feedback into consideration as I want to see local small businesses win. read more

One star because the service was nice! I was really disappointed in the Ube Latte I got. The color was nice and vibrant so it seemed promising to deliver a lot in flavor however it barely tasted like anything. I didn't taste any Ube. Mainly just tasted like water and a hint of espresso. I was so disappointed because the idea of an Ube Latte was amazing but the execution was poor. I hope they improve their recipes!! I'd love to have a local place serving good asian flavor inspired drinks instead of having to drive down to SD for them!! read more
