Local brews Wanted…read moreto get some good local brews while in Banff and was recommended this spot. When you walk in, the first thing that hits you are the massive brew kettles in the back. Apparently, they make all of the beers on top in house. We tried their beer flight, which features their post popular beers. The pinery pilsner, happy trails pale ale, and peach cream ale were probs my fav. We also tried some of their food which was delicious as well, but the star of the show is def their beer. We tried their elk and kale pizza and tuna poke bowl. Never had elk before, but it tastes like lean beef! Would def recommend stropping by PSA: This place gets pretty crowded during peak hours so try to make a resy

Our server was from Ireland and she was a real gem, she's off to Australia soon! We had the Mac and cheese and the beer battered fish and chips. Both were delicious and served with such speed and accuracy our heads were spinning! In a good way! The Mac and cheese had shaved mushrooms, not big chunks, but shaved, that is the difference between a chef and a cook. The Fish and chips were phenomenal, they use their own beer for their batter and you just need this in your life!

I visited Bear Street Tavern based off of a recommendation by a coworker. Beer and pizza is usually…read morea winning combination and Bear Street Tavern is a great example of this. Admittedly, I'm not much of a drinker but I'll have some once in a while and Bear Street seems to have a pretty good selection. I tried a Vietnamese Coffee Stout which I enjoyed. I'm definitely more of an eater than I am a drinker and the eats at Bear Street Tavern are excellent. My party got 2 pizzas and a salad and we enjoyed it all. To start we got the Tavern Bowl. It's a bunch of different vegetables with a Tahini Miso Dressing and kimchi on top. All the different textures and flavors worked really well together and the salad served as a nice break between bites of pizza. The Wheeler Hut pizza has mushrooms, ricotta, truffle oil, pesto, and mozzarella. If you're a fan of truffle flavor you'll enjoy this pizza. As soon as it was brought out I could already smell the truffle. The Mediterranean has olives, feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, red onions, chili flakes, spinach, mozzarella, and balsamic glaze. A little busier than the Wheeler Hut, but it was equally delicious. I'm not sure which pizza I liked more. Both pizzas had a fantastic crust with some char. Substantial enough to stand up to the toppings but still a little doughy for a nice chew. The char gives a nice crunch as well. Service is quick and friendly and the prices are fair, especially in a tourist area. I definitely recommend Bear Street Tavern.

I was excited to go back to my hotel and brush my teeth and use mouth wash to get rid of the disgusting pungent flavor of the pizzas the waitress recommended. PS the bathrooms were DISGUSTING. Would not recommend.
