Really good food inside a cute environment! Came with a tour group and was a set menu. Appetizer…read morewas a potato and leek soup (excellent!) and a garden salad. The entree was a choice of chicken with mushroom sauce (great), teriyaki salmon (also great), and vegetable gnocchi. The brownie was an excellent dessert!

We loved the live music and the romantic feel. They have an amazing wine list (more like a novel). Service: Perfect! Our waters were consistently filled, and timing was nice. We liked how we weren't rushed between courses. Food: We had Hamachi as an appetizer. I asked where it was sourced and was surprised that neither the waiter nor chef knew the answer. For main course, I had the rack of lamb, my favorite. My husband had the bison tenderloin. Both were good. Not great. Both dishes were drowned in sauce. The sauce was way too salty to cover the entire plate. The food should always be the star and the sauce as a complement. One quarter of the sauce along the side would improve both meals. Last, we had some version of Tiramisu. It was very dry. The waiter was kind and took it off our bill. Would we return? Yes. We were happy with our meals (for the most part) and felt the cozy dining experience was lovely.

They uniquely do a 72 hour dough rise for the pizza. Create a very airy and light focaccia style pizza crust. I had the elk sausage and roasted kale pizza. I found the pizza very good, very rich due to the type of cheeses they used ....however I found out...I don't like kale - so I picked it off. Kathy enjoyed the tuna melt, with waffle fries. It was yummy. The server was quick, guided us through some suggestions, and our order was out reasonably quickly. Banff gets busy in the afternoon. We arrive just before the rush at 2 PM. If you're looking for good food and a good beer, three beers brewery is a good choice. Asfoor value a bit on the higher side.... I'd use 3 ($$$) for two of us. Kid, friendly yes, clean bathrooms, good waiter-staff. Three Bears gets a two thumbs up for Banff Canada.

The kale salad was abundant and dressed well with abundant toppings. The pizza was like our server said it would be - greasy in the best way possible. The crust was perfect and the oozing cheese with a hint of honey was fantastic. Great service and bright and open dining area.

I visited Bear Street Tavern based off of a recommendation by a coworker. Beer and pizza is usually…read morea winning combination and Bear Street Tavern is a great example of this. Admittedly, I'm not much of a drinker but I'll have some once in a while and Bear Street seems to have a pretty good selection. I tried a Vietnamese Coffee Stout which I enjoyed. I'm definitely more of an eater than I am a drinker and the eats at Bear Street Tavern are excellent. My party got 2 pizzas and a salad and we enjoyed it all. To start we got the Tavern Bowl. It's a bunch of different vegetables with a Tahini Miso Dressing and kimchi on top. All the different textures and flavors worked really well together and the salad served as a nice break between bites of pizza. The Wheeler Hut pizza has mushrooms, ricotta, truffle oil, pesto, and mozzarella. If you're a fan of truffle flavor you'll enjoy this pizza. As soon as it was brought out I could already smell the truffle. The Mediterranean has olives, feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, red onions, chili flakes, spinach, mozzarella, and balsamic glaze. A little busier than the Wheeler Hut, but it was equally delicious. I'm not sure which pizza I liked more. Both pizzas had a fantastic crust with some char. Substantial enough to stand up to the toppings but still a little doughy for a nice chew. The char gives a nice crunch as well. Service is quick and friendly and the prices are fair, especially in a tourist area. I definitely recommend Bear Street Tavern.

Comfortable, plush chairs to sit in, 2 televisions (one with Tampa Bay Rays playing Toronto Blue…read moreJays), a friendly waitress, & 5% off the bill when I checked in on Yelp: this was the perfect way to start dinner! We ordered the smoked sausage with fries (husband) and pulled pork with baked potato (me). Both came with a vegetable which was corn on the cob - husband's favorite. Food came in a reasonable amount of time - hot and good. French fries tasted fresh, as if they were made here - not frozen. Sausage (not too spicy, but tasty), corn, and baked potato were all good. Pulled pork was different from Southern BBQ, but just as good. It tasted especially good with the regular signature BBQ sauce. The decor is outdoorsy, with bear & elk crossing signs. A bar sits close to the dining area. The dining area is cozy, with 4 tables for four, and two tables for two by the windows, under the TVs. By the way, bull riding was on the other TV. Music was bluesy. If you prefer eating outside, there are 3 picnic tables. I think we were sitting in the bar area as we saw a larger dining area on the other side of the bar, but we were comfortable where we were. The bathrooms are in the back, near the pool & hot tub for the attached hotel. It is your basic women's room - 2 stalls, 2 sinks, soap and paper towels. We were only in town for one night, so we could not return. If you live in Golden, or are coming to Golden, and you have a desire to eat BBQ, eat here. You'll enjoy a good meal, reasonably priced, with friendly service.

We were seated within a few moments of arriving and the first thing other than smoke (in a good way) that hits you is it's so hot in this place. It's pouring rain and chilly out but not enough for the need of that much heat. For all I know maybe it's because it's a BBQ joint it gets hot inside!? Our server was good she grabbed us our drinks right away and then we ordered. I got the fish burger and a side salad and my friend ordered potatoes skins with chicken on them. My fish burger was bland and greasy, thankfully it was piping hot but grease dropped off it. My side salad was good the dressing was really nice. The potato skins were great! They were literally potatoes cut in half and then stuffed with yumminess. The chicken on stop and as of course smoked and delicious. The place was packed with people. They also sell their own BBQ sauce and Hot Mustard both of which were really good AND they sell their own beef jerky (I did not try or buy) but if you like that and want to support local they have it!
