The only person that is capable on that staff is Dr. Kramer, she is great with animals, and very knowledgeable on every aspect. Our dog had been going to Banfield in Cambridge for over 4 years with no issues. Unfortunately, the Cambridge location closed. They made Everett our preferred location. Big Mistake!! Our dog suffers from anxiety and the Cambridge location always accommodated us with in-room appointments or letting her stay with us while we waited for test results, etc. I scheduled an in-room appointment in Everett. The day before the appointment they called and told me that they changed it to a drop off appointment. I explained the situation, she completely ignored me and said we'll see you tomorrow for drop off. I thought they all can't be this rude. When we got there today, I asked why we had to have a drop off and again explained our dogs anxiety. We were told because she needs blood work and that takes more than a half hour and we could pick her up later, they're open 'til 6pm. She was rude and uncaring about our dogs anxiety. I've been to a few Banfield locations now and never come across such rude people. I think they all need some sensitivity and customer service training. We will never go back to this location with any of our dogs. read more

I have been to many Banfield locations in multiple states. All of my experiences have been mediocre to poor and I would not recommend. This Banfield is by far the worst, and the first I have bothered leaving a review for. Every time I have been to this location something has gone wrong (payment system, failure to deliver medications, rescheduling, etc.). The staff are not attentive and do not inspire confidence. They always try to add unnecessary charges -- this is true at all Banfield locations I have been to but at this one it seems downright predatory. I have never been so frustrated and dissatisfied with a business. Avoid this location at all costs (and Banfield for that matter). read more

Went to get my new kitty her shots so I can have her fixed, was able to make an appt online which was effortless. You are also able to download all forms online to help speed the process along. Arrived and was put in a room right away, clean & sterile environment, everyone there was great. Paid under $200 for a new exam and shots. Not bad. A little pricey for Spaying / Neutering, but will def go back if anything comes up. Location is smaller due to the store being in a strip mall but worth a visit if you are in a pinch. read more

This place is rip off. I had adopted a kitten. So I'm going to bring her to Banfield for the first check up. There is a online coupon for free exam & consultation. I brought the coupon to the front desk. The woman who work at the front desk said I can not use the coupon due to previously own a dog. I told them this is my new cat. They won't let me use the coupon, because I have an account with Banfield 10+ ago. I asked them is this pet clinic or human clinic? The coupon is for pets not for human. Two weeks later, I brought my cat to Banfield for vaccines. So before the vaccine. I asked the front desk guy. How much it will be for the vaccine and the total. He didn't say anything. He just brought me in the clinic room to wait for the doctor to see my cat. I asked again he said he doesn't know the price. The doctor came in to check my cat with the vaccine less than 10 minutes. When I walked out the clinic room. The guy at the front desk immediately told me total of $90's something dollars. I was like only a vaccine. He said including office visit fee which of $59. Beware do not go there or get the wellness program. I wish I could give no stars they do not deserve any. First dropped off my dogs and went to work and the next morning both had i am pretty sure that they had cough kennel. My dogs go out to my yard and go inside they do see other dogs. i called Banfield and asked if anyone had complained of their dog getting sick after the visit they put me on hold and said no. I asked them for an email and emailed a video asking the manager after the video was viewed to call me. I ended up calling them and he said that could happen anywhere blah, blah, blah. I emailed customer service they sent it back to that manager. I had joined the wellness program and wanted to cancel and they said that I could cancel but it would cost me over 1000.00 and would need to be paid immediately or i could continue to pay until March when the policy expires and the amount would be less. I used the insurance one time and paid 666.00 for the first visit i told them I wanted nothing to do with them and told them that i took back the permission to charge my account and was told that they did not do that. I will be calling my bank and placing a stop order on the recurring transaction. I told them to take me to court or report it to the credit bureau do what you feel i don't care. read more

We've had a good experience with the vet care we've received at the Everett Banfield location, but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I've had appointments changed on me without notice and they are perpetually unreachable but phone. Over the past two weeks I've called, left a voicemail with no return, or the phone line is never turned on and says they're closed all day. I have yet to actually reach someone on the other end. We pay a lot for the OWS subscriptions, it would be nice to actually see the value of it beyond just saving money on care. read more

We have been really happy with Banfield in Everett. They're super busy but always manage to get to our call and find space to get us in when we need to be seen. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful and Dr Bradley is great. It's a BUSY VET but I still feel like they care about my pet. My husband and I had been taking our dog to the puppy obedience classes at PetSmart and we have been very satisfied with the outcome. Our instructor Jennifer was excellent and very helpful. We would strongly recommend her services to interested customers. Now for the NASTY EXPERIENCE ...... when you walk a few feet into the PetSmart store, you will see a veterinarian receptionist behind the counter toward the right side of the store There is located Banfield Pet Hospital. Simply upon entrance, when we approached the counter, the receptionist was very rude to us. We were interested in talking about the veterinary services, however before he would answer any of our simple questions, he shoved the Wellness Plan pamphlet in our faces and began pushing all of their plans... we could not even say a word... he talked nonstop and didn't take a breath for over a full minute...... blah blah blah I handed him a coupon for a free vet visit. We had purchased a book for $19.95 when we began the obedience classes. The flamboyant, obnoxious receptionist snatched the coupon, and held on to it.... placing it on his counter while he once again tried to push the Hospital's Wellness Program. in our faces. We did not have the papers on our dog's rabies info with us, so he very rudely snapped at us that s we could not be helped and would have to make an appointment for another time. My husband asked if he could go back home to get Sophie's info, and I could wait for the vet. He said that all of the vets were running on time, so he had better hurry up if he wanted to see the doctor. After Steve left, the horrific man told me to walk around if I wanted to because there were three people in front of us and we would have an hour's wait AT LEAST When it was time for our appointment, I looked everywhere but I didn't have the coupon. He said he placed it on the counter to give it back to us, and I did not see him do that. We could not find it anywhere, and I am assuming that another customer may have quickly snatched it up. When I mentioned the coupon, he boldly and very rudely pointed his finger in my husband's face and yelled "I gave it to him! It will cost you $45 now" As he told us that our vet was ready to take us in, we turned and walked away in disgust. How such a wretched nasty man can ruin a business which may have be half-way decent. We didn't stay to find out. We are going to go back to the VCA where we had great service for the past 20 years. Recently, took my dog there and not impressed at all. The nurse leep calling my dog another name & as many times as I corrected her, she didnt get it right. Everyone seems too young here. They try to get you for more than what you came in for!!! Called for an emergency the other day & was told cant get my dog in before Thanksgiving - booked solid. I explained the issue and she said that even though they cant give advise she stated what it could be. Took my dog today to a NEW VET & Banfield was wrong (1) not to schedule an emergency appt & (2) wasnt what she stated on the phone. I will NEVER GO HERE AGAIN. If you want a similar experience visiting your vet as you would have taking your car to Jiffy Lube, this is definitely the place for you! Although, between the incredibly loud baying of some poor hound in the back and the chaotic mess of the check-in system, a garage is actually probably more peaceful.... I spent a miserable four visits here recently getting my year-old cat caught up on his shots and neutered, and was appalled. The experience starts with a friendly greeting from the harassed and overworked receptionist. Enjoy this. It will be the only friendly contact you get for your entire visit. However, regardless of your appointment time, you will wait. And wait. Out of four visits my longest wait was 40 minutes to get into the exam room, where you then proceed to wait some more. Next up is a vet technician who takes the animal's history without greeting or eye contact. Seriously, they have a computer touchscreen that they follow, without even a hint of individual attention. 20 minutes later, the vet comes in, unsmiling and without introducing herself, does a perfunctory evaluation without ever actually examining the cat, and then leaves you alone again in the waiting room for another 20 minutes. And after all this, you find that they have padded the bill as much as possible. Delightful. Fortunately, I have since found the VCA in Everett, so I am no longer at the mercy of this impersonal, franchise-y place. read more

Banfield in Everett, Massachusetts has cared for my pet since a pup. I live in Kingston NH and make the trip to Everett for continuity of care. My dog is an extremely nervous Aussie and I feel the trip is well worth it. She responds very well to the incredible support staff as well as the vet as apposed to a couple of other clinics I tried closer to home but strongly feel its best to continue with the group we know. Why fix what's not broken. From the practice manager, Jay, to Matt who so calmly assists the doctor with my dogs care to the front desk staff I can't applaud them enough. Jay has also helped me with teaching and calming my nerves and anxieties when I first acquired my dog. Hats off to a wonderful group of folks at Banfield. read more

I recently moved and had to switch from VCA to Banfield because it is much closer to me. I got the Optimum Wellness plan which I thought was much more beneficial than the VPI pet insurance I had because it covered more the preventative care. I had the VPI insurance for most of my little dog's life but had only one accident that needed E.R. service. I found the staff and the service to be very helpful. There is a little wait but it's because there are so many people coming and leaving. I've had to call in once frantically trying to figure out if my dog has a deer tick on him or if it was something else. The vet tech kept me on the phone while she looked up her books and even asked the vet/dr, to reassure me that it was not a deer tick from the size and description. When I dropped Fuji off for the comprehensive exams, they would call me every step of the way. i.e. I had a call midday to tell me that Fuji was a bit dehydrated but that they're taking care of it. And then, I got another call that Fuji has done well and will be waking up soon. The very next day was the follow up call to make sure things are ok. Vet visits are in general very expensive. Hence, why I've had pet insurance or some sort of wellness package. The Banfield Wellness plan is a great deal. Esp. since just the dental cleaning alone is upwards of $300-$400 if the dog doesn't have any damaged teeth. read more

The vets themselves are all very nice, but very young. My dog recently required emergency surgery and the surgeon we took him to requested the dog's previous health record from Banfield several times and never even got a call back, let alone any of the records. read more

I was on their puppy plan for a year and I have had too many bad experiences here. 1. Whenever you to try to call, you'll be lucky enough to actually have them pick up. 2. Inconsistent vaccinations. 3. My pup received someone else's rabies tag. 4. I purchased simparica blue chewables(had the sticker on the box that says it) but opened the box it and it was the tick and flea liquid tube instead. With all of that said, they could've mixed up other things I was unaware about, who knows. How can there possibly be THAT many mistakes? Very disorganized. This is a very busy Banfield Pet Hospital. For the receptionists, it all depends on who you have. The receptionists' passion for working there is DEFINITELY on the low side. Is it just me or do the two guys I've met do nothing but complain about the long hours they work? Did I mention that they can't be bothered if they're on break? For the women, it all depends on who you get also. You may get one that's really helpful, another who completely forgets why you were there, and another that is similar to my experiences with the guys that work here. HOWEVER! This place completely redeems itself for the doctors they have on staff. Our Fernando's favorite vet is Dr. Taylor. She really loves animals and is very passionate about her work and her patients. She really listens to you and pays attention to our dogs. This past Monday, our Fernando passed away suddenly after his visit with a vet other than Dr. Taylor at Banfield. We were so distraught I came back the next day to 1. return the food I just bought for him and 2. get answers. The doctor that had seen Fernando was unfortunately not in, but Dr. Taylor was and she gave me a hug, put a hold on her busy schedule, and sat with me to get answers. She looked over his chart and the findings and even called the vet on duty Monday night when he was brought into the ER. I was able to get the closure I desperately needed. In the end, my Fernando passed away from acute decompensated heart failure. It was very sudden but at his age, it was as if his heart just gave way. I miss him terribly but I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Taylor at this Banfield. She has the patience, understanding, and passion we pet owners have for our pets. I never got a chance to meet the doctor who managed Fernando that dreadful day but it won't keep me from coming back to this hospital. Though, I may only request to see Dr. Taylor in the future. read more

I am not one to leave reviews about businesses, but my dissatisfaction with this location has prompted this to inform others. I moved to this location about a year ago and do not plan to return. Two months ago I scheduled an appt for a Saturday morning to meet with a doctor regarding my dogs recent hair loss and I sat in the waiting area for legitimately 2.5hrs before I was even seen. They were "too busy" to honor my appt and in the end I was there for ~4hrs. They did some tests on my dog and all came back negative and was sent home with nothing. Three weeks later my dogs hair loss significantly increased and was told I would have to wait 3 weeks before I could see the doctor!! When I did drop my dog off, they didn't ask me, but upgraded my Wellness plan to be triple the price. When my significant other went to pick my dog up, they refused to release him, when I clearly confirmed this was ok for pickup, even though she's listed on my account as owner/etc.. forcing me to have to leave work and drive 45 minutes to get him. It then took over 1.5hrs for them to release him to me as they were not willing to reverse the wellness upgrade charges that I never agreed/signed/or was aware of. To top this all off, I called this morning to get schedule an appointment as my dog's hair loss has exponentially increased in the past 24 hours, producing whole areas of baldness, lesions, and bleeding. I legitimately left two voicemails and ended up redialing for over an hour after those wasted hours waiting on a return call, during normal business hours, and no one picked up! Finally someone picked up and they said that it would be at a minimum two weeks before I could see a doctor and 48 hours before I could even talk on a phone with my doctor about my dog that is in pain! I am at disbelief with the way they treat their patients. I will never recommend this location to anyone. To top it all off, I called the Woburn location and was able to see a doctor within 2 hours... I met with a great doctor who was actually willing to prescribe antibiotics and have a real conversation about my dogs health. read more

I would NOT recommend this vet to anyone. I recently purchased a Yorkshire Terrier puppy from a breeder located in Georgia. She was shipped here on a plane Saturday Night. Since no vets are open past 7ish i decided to take her the next morning. Banfield is really close to home and are actually open on Sundays, Good for emergency situations ? I think not ! We first walked in and the secretary at first seemed very friendly and was happy to see my 14 ounce puppy. She then escorted us into the room where she looked over my puppy. Here's when the drama begins. After she was done looking at her she placed her onto the EDGE of the table, turned her back and my puppy fell, flat on the floor. She is a little runt and cant handle much. Not only did she drop her but had the nerve to tell me i have to watch my puppy better. Was she not in your care ? come on now ! After that the vet came in to check her out after her "fall" and again blamed me for not keeping a good eye out for her. She has flakiness and worms in her stool, normal for a plane ride, he told me the flakes were dry skin from fleas so prescribed k9 advantix and dramol for the worms and shed be better in no time. It has been 2 weeks since her experience at Banfield, the flakes and itching are still reoccurring. I bring her to the groomers to have a sanitary shave and nails clipped. The nice lady working there gladly informed me that the flakes and itching were not caused from fleas but from an allergic reaction to her puppy food (eukanuba) its nice to know that a GROOMER knew a lot more than an actual vet. Ever since we changed her food she has been better. no more itching and scratching and no more flakes. If anyone is looking to use this vet, GOOD LUCK ! I wouldn't even use them for emergencies on a Sunday. read more

Our dog, Q-tip, absolutely loves the team here. We have been going here since we first took Q home more than 8 years ago and have always appreciated everyone's patience and genuine concern. Dr. Taylor, Jessica, Sean, and the rest have always managed to give us the attention we needed. We've had to come in unplanned a few times over the years and the team somehow always fits us in and gives us the time to treat and understand whatever the issue is. As far as convenience and value, I used to worry if the cost per year was more than local vets in the area, but I've done the math and compared costs related to procedures, check-ups, routine vaccines, etc., and I'd rather stick with this place. read more

Scheduled an appointment with Banfield online a week ago, got a confirmation email, then the night before my appointment I received a voicemail saying they were cancelling my appointment because the time was unavailable. I was told the website is "new" and does not have accurate times. I was told to call all surrounding Banfield clinics to reschedule. It is not my fault your website allows appointments that you cannot follow through with. Not to mention they waited until 24 hours before to contact me, after I changed my with schedule to accommodate this appointment. I have never experienced something so unorganized, filthy and just purely such a negative experience in my life. I was told to bring my dog in at 7am for drop off of a routine dental cleaning. At 830am, I am still at the counter waiting for assistance. Finally after filling out 4 forms and given a quote (with a permimeter not to exceed $75.00. ) I left my dog in what I thought was safe hands. At about 430pm, the vet called me and told me the procedure was done and that the cost was going to be 2 plus times what they told me because my dogs teeth were so bad and they had to extract many of them. Understand, prior to this surgical visit, I had met with the vet and planned out the course of action for this pet and was not prepared to spend over $300-400 on a dental cleaning. When he called me and told me the procedure was going to cost over $870 plus additional products they recommended I almost reached thru the phone and choked him. I had specifically read the contract I signed earlier that morning (because I had to wait for over an hour before the desk clerk took my dog from me) where it stated, that the doctor or technician would phone me should the cost be more than $75 above the estimate given. Immediately I left my office to go meet with this doctor and retrieve my pet. Upon entering Pet Smart, I along with the five or six other clients from the early morning drop off where too standing there waiting to pick up their pets. I assure you I have never seen such aggravated and irrate individuals in my life. Many of the patrons picking up their dogs were complaining of similiar situations. Upcharing and not being informed. One gentleman was told a firm price to have his dog fixed and upon picking him up was told it was an additional charge of over $200.00. By the time it was my turn in line I was furious. Again I had to wait for over 30 minutes only to be told that the doctor was too busy to see me. I refused and told them I would wait until he made time to see me. They then put me in one of the vet waiting rooms where I waited another 20 minutes. I assure you, I did not pay their fee of over $800 for a procedure that was quoted to be no more than $400 and my dog minus 9 teeth that they were NOT approved to remove left that building with all her medical records and that of my other pets. I WILL NEVER COME BACK! Becareful of hidden fees and the constant bombardment of selling unneccessary shampoos, conditioners and other pet products you can purchase over the counter for half the price! read more

I love this vet. My dog has been seen there since she was a puppy and I'm so impressed with their care, which is given at an amazing price. My dog was spayed there and she doesn't even have a scar (I know of other people who paid exponentially more than I did and their poor dogs dealt with crazy complications and terrible scars!) The downside is this -- within the last year, they hired a new receptionist who is terrible. He doesn't speak clearly, when you ask him to clarify he gets angry and snippy, and he is not helpful at all. I'm used to their wonderful receptionists in the past who remember me, my dog and really just cared for us. This receptionist can't even keep track of my dog's name or whether it's a cat or a dog. This one person is dragging down a wonderful veterinary practice. Although I recommend this vet highly, I do hope this person gets moved to a more suitable department. When that happens I will be happen to change this to five stars. read more

I find the vets here to be very nice and personable, but the receptionists/people who answer the phones leave much to be desired (except Merl- she is great!) I have been going here since my dog was 5 months old, he is now 3. I have witnessed this establishment get worse and worse over the years. The following are my findings: 1- there is a significant wait time EVERY SINGLE TIME I go in there 2- whenever I call in... no one answers the phone 3- they never have appointments and as it would appear, no longer offer "walk ins" when they used to (what is the point of having a vet if they cannot be available when you need them?!) 4- my dog was supposed to go in for his 6 month heartworm shot (which is supposed to cost $55) but they didnt have time to squeeze him in until it was 'past due' and when I asked the receptionist on the phone what I am supposed to do, as I didn't want him to go uncovered by the heartworm, her answer was "I don't know what to tell you." So I took him in for the earliest they could take him, and he was still past due. They gave him the shot and all was well... UNTIL it came time to pay the bill. They charged me $20 extra because he was "past due on his heartworm shot" and they had to run a test on him before giving him the new one. In sum... I am looking for a new vet that is affordable... because at this point... affordability is the ONLY reason I still take my dog here. read more

I take heart in seeing that none of the previous reviews were posted within the past year, because my experience was very much opposite. Let me preface this by saying I used to hate all Banfields on principal. I took one of my cats to their Daly City, California location once, where they poked and prodded her, diagnosed her with a computer, and tried selling me numerous expensive, useless products. This time couldn't have been more different. I ended up having to take my cat to this location once, and my dog another time. Both times, my regular vet was either closed or had no appointments, but Banfield was able to squeeze me in same-day. The first time I made an appointment and was let into a room shortly after I got there. I saw Dr. Wilding, who sweet-talked my cat, gave him individual attention, and diagnosed him without running an expensive fecal test I assumed I was going to have to get. The second time was for my dog who had gotten a mystery gash on his paw. They told me there were no appointments, but to come in and they'd see us between appointments. I got taken back right away, and saw Dr. Wilding again. She was equally friendly to both me and my dog. She gave me two treatment options, and did not bat an eye when I chose the less expensive one (It bums me out when vets imply that I love my animals less because I'm not wealthy). They called to check in on him the day after the appointment, to remind me of my follow-up, and again after the follow-up. WELLNESS PLAN CLIENTS: Did you know you are paying more for this than if you just went to your local vet? Do the math, something I didn't do for a while since I trusted Banfield. Do NOT begin bringing your pet here if you're looking for an office that is responsive to your concerns as a pet parent or willing to work with you when your pet is in need of care. I have had my dog on a Banfield Wellness Plan since he was a baby, but until last month we lived in another state and have always had outstanding experiences with our original location. When we moved to the area I moved his record to this location. The lady I originally talked to was super nice and I thought we would have a similarly great experience with this Banfield. Unfortunately, this was not the case when it came to actually caring for my dog. I called on a Wednesday because my dog hurt his paw two days earlier and it wasn't getting better. I informed the young man I talked to that my dog was in so much pain I had to carry him down the stairs to take him outside, and that I could be available any time over the next three days so he could be seen immediately. The young man was very snippy and said, among other short and unhelpful things, that their office was full until the end of the month (this occurred on Sept. 4) and that if that was really an emergency I needed to take my dog to the emergency vet. He also said there was no record that my dog was on a Wellness Plan, only that they'd seen my dog before, and so IF they could take him due to a cancellation I would be paying out of pocket for the visit. After calling corporate and confirming that all of what he said was a load of bullshit (they were upset about his response too) I called back first thing this morning to try to get my dog in, had to leave a message after trying several times to reach someone, and still have not heard anything back from their office. In the mean time, another Banfield office graciously saw my pup first thing after I called, treated him with incredible kindness, and sent him home with me feeling better and on the road to a quick recovery. Even if you need to drive a little further to another location, DO IT. I am so disappointed with the reception staff's insensitive and uncooperative responses at this particular location. read more

To start I wish there was a no star option! Worst customer service I ever encountered. First off the location in Everett closed and no one reached out to advise the location closed and we would now have to go to another location. My cat is in the wellness plan and was due for his yearly shots in April and I was never notified when I reached out today to inquire when his appointment was I was told it was past due in April and again no one reached out to advise. The home office told me it was up to me to keep track of visits but normally I'm sent a reminder but since the location closed I was never sent a reminder but they did not forget to take my monthly payment out of my bank account each month. when I asked for reimbursement I was told no the conversation got ugly and they proceeded to hang up on me. Most upsetting is I was never notified the location closed and my cat was overdue on yearly treatments and they proceeded to take my money and refuse reimbursement for unused services. read more

Great service, friendly receptionist and vets. Front desk is slightly difficult to reach through the phone

They killed my cat. My cat went in for a medical shave like she always does. The vet recommended a teeth cleaning as well. She also said blood work was needed and tried to sell me the wellness package. After that day my cat was never the same. She would not eat or drink. She was shaking and tighted into a little ball. I called Banfield 2x, and it took them 2 days to call me back. I didn't wait for them, I ended up taking her to angell memorial because Banfield is incompetent. Angell Memorial said she was traumatized from whatever happened at Banfield. They tried to save her and they could not. She had to be euthanized. Banfield has poor customer service and they do not care about your pet. Their first priority is money. read more

I am writing this review in the hopes the 'higher ups' pay attention & get the team some support! We have been taking our dog there since she was a puppy, now almost 7 years old! At first all was great & the wellness plans are great value particularly for puppies (vaccinations, spay etc included). Dr. Taylor, Sean, Melissa, to name only a few, were so caring of our girl! Since then, this location has had really high staff turnover & they are always so overwhelmed! I do not doubt the care given, once you can get your pet in, but that is really tough even for a drop-off! The wait time for appointments, for the phone to be answered, at the desk on arrival, is excessive! The evolving team still seem dedicated & caring but THEY NEED MORE SUPPORT! I am trying a different location this week as I could not get into Everett for weeks, & I will be looking to move permanently if this one seems more capable.. It's just such a shame as great staff seem to be trying their best in Everett but they cannot provide the impossible! read more

The guy who answered the phone was all I needed to know that this place was sketchy. I've heard so many horror stories but figured It wouldn't be so bad to have a dental cleaning there. Unfortunately they do not take a dog's health into consideration when deciding whether to administer anesthesia or not, even if it can potentially kill the dog. He was quick to get me off the phone and it's unfortunate to see how fast they can throw away business and open themselves up to 1 star reviews. All it takes is a bit of patience to avoid this. He said good luck finding a place that will clean a dog's teeth without anesthesia... I found about 11 in the Boston area alone. Incompetence is at an all time high in 2018.
