Do not use this place!! My wife and I got a kitten about two weeks ago, and she recently became very sick. On Sunday (7/26), we took her in for an exam. The staff asked us to bring a fecal sample so they could test it, and we absolutely did. They told us everything looked fine during the exam and that we would have the test results by Monday, or Tuesday at the latest, so they could determine what was making her sick. Tuesday came and went without a single update, so we called the office ourselves. That's when they told us, "Oh! The lab never received a sample." So basically the clinic lost the sample. Because of their mistake, my wife had to use her lunch break to drive back and bring ANOTHER fecal sample. When she arrived, they told her they would run an overnight test and that we would have results the following morning. They also told my wife that the clinic closes at 2 pm for the day even though on the website it clearly states 6 pm. That's why she had to go during her lunch break. Meanwhile, our 12-week-old kitten was getting worse by the day, and we couldn't start the appropriate medication because we still didn't have a diagnosis. The next morning came and no results. My wife had to go back AGAIN that afternoon, and once again, there were no answers. We also called ahead and were told that the front desk would contact the lab and call us right back. That call never came. They finally gave us some medication after my wife went in crying to them. However, the results aren't back yet so we don't even know if it's the right medication but hopefully it'll help a little. The lack of communication, the lost sample, and the repeated delays were incredibly frustrating, especially when we were dealing with a sick kitten who needed treatment as soon as possible. We trusted this clinic to help our pet, but instead we were left chasing answers while her condition continued to worsen. read more

Another bad review. I guess I should have checked yelp before thinking they could help my dog. I hope this drops them down to one star. I scheduled online from the times listed . They called me and said I had to drop him off earlier and leave him there for 4 hours because I scheduled on their lunch. I couldn't do it and they offered me a 3:30 after someone cancelled. They just called me and said they had a change in schedule and I had to come down before noon. Now it's going to be another 2 days my dog will suffer and appointments at other vets are available now. I don't understand the ratings on this location. They have bent over backwards for me on multiple occasions to see my fur kids in challenging circumstances. I had a puppy with gastrointestinal issues and repeat giardia diagnoses. Again, today, Houdini vomited and because my dog loves to run around with rocks in his mouth (ugh!) to rule out a blockage they found time to do an X-ray for me. The doctors have always been thorough and the women at the desk compassionate, kind and generous with love for my dogs and also warm towards me. This was a very difficult year between my father passing and an unexpected move and the dogs being sick added to my stress which this Banfield and Petsmart staff helped soften. I will preface this review that I have had an OWP with Banfield for years. That said, stay away from this Banfield. I brought my pet in to be examined for an illness. Fast forward 5 hours and the hospital calls to tell me they want to run additional tests. They never even ran the one test I had authorized. Instead my dog was made a pawn to an unethical and reprehensible attempt by Dr Sowerby to coerce me into paying nearly $500 for services we do not know she for sure needs. This veterinarian has no business practicing medicine if she's going to do nothing aside from scare pet parents into paying for outrageous services they do not know the pet needs. I left this Banfield angry, hurt, and my trust in their staff irreparably shattered. I will never be back. If you love your pet, stay away from these grifters. read more

Would not recommend this Banfield location. I had scheduled an anal gland expression outpatient appointment for my pup. I called a second time before the appointment to re-confirm that I would only be paying for the out patient service, which they confirmed a second time. Once I got there, they told me they wanted to perform a full exam and charge me more than double than what was confirmed twice. Wouldn't help at all. I scheduled online for an IN PERSON appointment at Banfield Pet Hospital on Stapley for my dog's yearly vaccinations (I have a screenshot), expecting to be able to be there with my pup. However, when I arrived, the vet tech informed me it would be a drop off and that she would call me after the doctor saw my dog and she was ready. This was quite frustrating as it was not communicated clearly and I specifically looked for an "in person" appointment not "drop off" and drove to this location for that reason only. the IN PERSON appointment THAT I SCHEDULED was for 12:30 PM and after having to drop her off I waited for a phone call. By 3 o'clock I hadn't heard anything, I called to check in. I was than told that she wouldn't be ready for pick-up until 4:30 or 5:00 PM. This long wait time for simple vaccinations is really disappointing. If I wanted to do a drop off, I would've scheduled for a drop off appointment and could've done that on a day when I worked. I was off today and wanted to go in person with my dog get her vaccinations and leave. I hope Banfield improves their communication and appointment scheduling in the future. good thing i had nothing to do today except hang out at the vet for an hour and a half for an appointment that shouldn't have been more than 30 minutes. after checking in i had to wait 20 minutes before i was actually called back for my appointment, which defeats the point of scheduling an appointment. i was not clarified as to why that was even after, no one apologized to me but when discussing shampoos and conditioners for another pet they we annoyed at ME for not being ready. then when looking at the pamphlet of there services and they told me a different monthly price than what was listed the answer i received was along the lines of "i don't know they must've changed it i guess" towards the end of my appointment and the vet was chatting with me they were being a bit condescending. Just a couple minutes ago i was looking at the app to try and find specific information about my pet and noticed they gave him some meds which i was not informed of i was told they were just doing blood work and if anything changed they'd inform me, which clearly they failed to do. long story short, i like to give people the benefit of the doubt so maybe it was just a bad day and they were busy or short staffed but no one actually seemed to know what was happening or going on. that being said i will not be returning to this location for a while due to the poor experience i had today. read more

Compassionate, caring, kind to name a few adjectives that came in mind after they helped my poor chihuahua. He had really bad allergies and could not sleep the night before. I called them Monday morning and they told me about their emergency clinic that they were holding and I'd be happy to fit me in. We arrived and there was no wsit and they fixed my baby boy. Disappointed and won't be returning to this location. Called to confirm the open appointment shown online today just to make sure we could come in, and was scheduled/confirmed for an exam. It felt good to be put in last minute so we showed up ready and early to be seen for my dog's eye infection. Unfortunately, the girl at check in (black glasses, tattoos, black hair) said we never had an appointment and wasn't scheduled, nor could we wait to be seen, squeezed in, or try to see if another location was available. I have a busy life and make an appointment for a reason. if you allow appointments in your website you are going to keep it. The fact I had to drop her off and come back is their problem not mine. Dr. Nguyen and his staff have gone completely above and beyond taking amazing care of our cats. Vet care is stressful and expensive but you can always tell they truly care and want to help. Incredible people. Banfield has its pros and cons as a corporate vet chain but their hours and option for multiple locations are hard to beat. Having so many great experiences with this particular location and its current staff make it worth driving a little further for our pets care. Highly recommend Dr. Nguyen and his team!! read more

Yesterday I took my 4.5 month Great Dane (Clyde) to this hospital to get his shots. I was very skeptical because I had a HORRIBLE experience with a different location, but our puppy really needed his shots and other vets weren't open. This location had a lot of availability for the date I needed and it was simple to book an appointment. Once I arrived, the customer service was great. They were busy, but still made us a priority. I only had to wait a few minutes before going into the room with one of the nurses. She asked me about Clyde and how he was doing (the other location never asked me). She expressed care and compassion towards Clyde and took my questions very seriously. Once they took him back, I only waited about 10 mins, the doctor came in to talk about everything they did with him and options for the future with him. I really appreciated the doctor taking the time to throughly explain everything. She even gave me handouts!! We had a wonderful experience and would love to go back to this location and this doctor! read more

I hate Banfield on Stanley and Baseline. Customer service is horrific. Let me list why: They gave me the wrong heart worm prescription for my dog instead of giving me something for a dog of 10 pounds they gave me medication for 50 pound dog so I overdosed my pet. I called them and they said I would have to make another trip to get a replacement. There was no apology no offer to make this right for me for wasting my time driving there. Next time I was there, I forgot to take the medicine and they still wouldn't replace it although I had paid for it. They said it was my responsibility to remember to take it back to fix their problem. Luckily I still have some meds from my former vet so my pet will be ok. These people at Banfield on Stapley are just plain rude and insinuated that I must be trying to rob them is my conclusion. I called this Banfield last week for an emergency visit and what they said is that they have no appointments for a whole week. They suggested I take my dog to the ER since they were too busy. I reminded them that I bought their health plan so that I wouldn't have to be making these ER visits when they are open and pay outside of my pocket additional amounts. They didn't care. They also don't share scheduling with other Banfields so I had to call a bunch of locations until I found one that would see us. Bad service and poor system integration. Plans are very expensive and you still have to pay more for visits. Given the high cost you would expect better service. read more

Can't give it 0. I took my 7 month old pup in February for a spay. We were scheduled in the morning and were told not to feed her and give her water (understandable). We took her in and they told us around 2 she would be out. When we called at 3 since we didn't hear anything they told us she was not only sedated, but emergencies came in her so her appointment was pushed back. They sedated my dog, empty stomach and possibly dehydrated. We didn't pick her up until 6 when the closed. Then we were told she had complications during th surgery (thank God she's fine). She was loopy, and now taking her to an actual place that cares for your animal she's traumatized because of that experience. Never again will I use banfield for anything. I'm still so upset that they put my pup through that situation. read more

I drove out of my way to get my dog her shots. I was told the appointment time TWICE. When I arrived, they completely ignored me even though they could tell my dog was very anxious and being antagonized by another dog in the waiting area. When they finally took the time to acknowledge us, they told us our appointment was the day before. Then changed their story to say it was actually five hours later in the day. The receptionists were just completely rude about the whole thing even when I showed them the voicemail on my phone confirming the appointment was for that date and time. You would think the veterinary staff is PROPERLY trained on how to fill medications. This is the THIRD time they have filled SIMPLE heartworm medication INCORRECTLY and the WRONG SIZE. Sure the label is right but your staff has filled it wrong so many times. How would your corporate feel about killing my dog due to negligence on medication filling? I normally check it before leaving but I was told it was right and it closing time so I was rushed to leave. I doubt if the medication did harm to my dog that Banfield would care. Maybe a better protocol should be out where techs actually check and sign off or better yet how about the veterinarian who allows the drug label in their name check it as technicians are being so naive and careless that I'm sure the prescribing vet would love to see a 18kg dog get a 30kg plus dog dose. You wonder why y'all have bad reviews because you set your clients up for failure and lack common sense to check the medication you're grabbing with the drug label printed. Would you even care if this was a steroid and and NSAID together? What about if you filled an NDAID for a 18kg dog at a 35kg dog dose?! Would you care then? You all should actual use your eyes and knowledge when doing a simple task! Not filling prevention right as easy as it should be can be deadly to other pets in the future for other medications. Learn to freaking read! They also NEVER answer their phone during business hours nor change the message that they are off that day or closed that day for a meeting. I love the team at this location. I bring all three of my pets (pitbull, ragdoll cat, and a DSH cat) and they are all treated exceptionally well. The team is very knowledgable and is able to answer the question I have. I recommend Banfield ( and this location in particular) to all my friends with pets. I also have the Wellness plans and they make my life very easy. I pay a little every month and it gives me peace of mind that if anything happens to my pets I can set up a consultation and get what I need at a great price. read more

I paid in cash and never used the service again now 10months later the company has made a fraudulent charge on my credit for over $500. They put a membership on my account that I did not sign up for and that I actually declined told them I did not need due to covid pandemic. This company is operating under fraudulent circumstances and misleading advertisement. Crooks and Thieves dont use this company or sign anything they lie to steal your money. read more

I have taken all four of my dogs here. When my puppy drowned they did let us switch the plan over to the one I got a couple months later after grieving.... That was kind. However: The wellness plans are garbage and I regret buying one for each one of my 4 dogs. I found a place to get vaccinations cheaper. That's all you get... Vaccinations and if you pay more the neuter spay. All for 300+ dollars when a local neuter clinic will do it for 30. They had me as a loyal customer, but I'm pretty upset with the service. Fabulous doctors with great communication. I have been to multiple Banfield locations and this one is my favorite. Dr. Osborne and Dr. Gardner are so incredibly kind. We often see Dr. Osborne for our appointments and she makes our nervous dog so comfortable. She sits on the floor with him and makes sure he feels extra secure. He had an emergency and she made sure he was seen right away and got all the care he needed. She communicated with me while I was at work and made sure I knew he was ok. I often have a lot of questions, and she never makes me feel like she is hurrying me off the phone. I feel like when he is there, my dog is her only priority, which I really appreciate. I'm sure she makes all of her patients feel this way. Dr. Gardner is equally as fabulous. We were considering an elective surgery for our giant dog, but did not know the details of the surgery. Dr. Gardner made sure to walk us through the pros and cons of dong this extensive surgery, giving us her professional opinion, but making sure to respect our choices as well. After we agreed to do the surgery and neutering, she made sure we had everything we needed for the recovery process. When our dog developed a reaction to the sutures, she called in antibiotics after hours to make sure our dog had the medication he needed ASAP. Her communication was timely and incredibly helpful. I also think the reception staff does a great job. Each time I call, they remember my dog and tell me how much they enjoy him. Considering he is quite the handful, I appreciate their kind words and efforts to get to know him for the great dog he is. They always make sure he gets the best care possible. Like I mentioned previously, I ask a lot of questions and they don't ever make me feel like they are rushing me off the phone. I had a kind receptionist go back multiple times to ask the vet questions to make sure I had everything I needed. We've had nothing but positive experiences here. read more

I will never go here again! They just want money. They only give my dog 2 weeks of meds for her leaky bladder and say I had to come back for more. This is a issue she has had for several years since she was fixed, it is common not a big deal. Then tell me she must be seen by same vet and can not get her in till the end of the month. this is just a post to warn other new pet owners looking to sign up with Banfield. the system is set up so they always take in new patients and pets without having any sort of idea how many doctors and appointments are available in an area. this means, there are way more pets that need to see the doctors than they even have available. this led to my pet not being able to book an appointment for over 6 months. I had called, used the app, tried booking at 4 other locations all through out chandler,gilbert,Tempe. I've been trying to fill a prescription for over 2 weeks now, have been calling back and forth with the banfield office and the pharmacy just to find out they now want a visit before they prescribe. it's just not fair to my pet first and foremost. it's dishonest business practice and it's not fair to the doctored, clients and pets. I advise you to sign up literally anywhere else that you know you can get the services you are paying for. they told me to sign up for the highest plan so I can "guarentee my pets needs are met" that was after our first visit... OVER A YEAR AGO. poorly run and such a poor system. hard to not be mad at the people working there when it seems like the thing your paying for is just taking your money without you or your pet getting the benefits you thought you were paying for. tried canceling my plan months ago as well and they have you trapped in until all fees are paid off even if you were on the highest plan. makes little to no sense. look else where. WAY OVERPRICED! Don't fall for the Wellness plans, because they don't save you any money. You can get vaccinations way cheaper, and this is the only thing covered in the wellness plans. Surgeries are "discounted" but they are so overpriced to begin with you end up paying more if you were to walk into any vet and get the procedure done. The vets here are very quick with the exams, because all they care about is making a buck. I do admit, the lady vet is nice, I think her name is Leeza. She's the only one who took time with me when I've brought my animals in. They nickel and dime you here for EVERYTHING, because they are on commission. Do your research and take your animals to a well respected vet, not a franchise. Sure, it's convenient since it's inside Pet Smart (the only reason we signed up in the first place) but save your money to spoil you pets :-) read more

I read the reviews that they may charge $$$$ for services, but you have to AGREE to do them and sign an estimate before they proceed! Medicine is expensive, get over it!
