I took a sick cat into this place several months ago. After a very, very short glancing examination, I was informed cat had a respiratory infection and was given some antibiotics and something else for the cat along with a refill. I was also presented with a bill for somewhere around $350. While giving the cat the medicine, I noticed some odd looking tissue in his gums and thought maybe this is a tooth problem. I took the cat to another vet who specialized such problems, and I was informed that it had an inoperable tumor in his head. How the hell can you misdiagnose a respiratory problem when it had a tumor in his head? I will never ever take another animal into neighborhood vet clinic again. A couple of minutes to examine a cat was not enough. . The front help were very nice and helpful, but the backside meaning the vet or whatever was back there I would consider totally incompetent at the least. Never again! read more

Dont know where the negative reviews are coming from, this place is the best vet Ive ever went to. Went here for my dog. They try to find you the most cost effective way without compromising care. I went there with a concern about my dog's eye and I had the time to discuss issues I was having with my dog's hind legs. Dr Fonza discussed and recomended a new injection and Im very hopeful. Dr Fonza was very kind to me and my dog and we both felt at ease. The Dr was very compassionate and empathetic to me when I opened up about a fear I had about anesthetics because of a past experience. He expressed sympathy and reassured me. He took his time, was through and extremely kind. I had so many vets give me a hard time or just rush Dr Fonza was a blessing. Thank you Dr Fonza I am happy I found you. God bless. Also wanted to say that the surgery went great. Got eye mass removed & dental cleaning. Dog is doing great. Dr Fonza is knowledgeable, kind, skilled, and compassionate. Honestly the only reason I'm leaving a 2 and not a 1 is because I was happy with the first visit! I was so happy that I found a vet clinic that seemed great the first time I called they were truly amazing, so helpful! It's about a 25 min drive from where I'm located but I didn't care because it seemed to be a good clinic, the first visit was great they were so helpful and kind to me and my little guy! Sweet front office staff, the vet tech was sweet and very kind to my dog, they explained he needed a prescription and they actually had it in office! That was convenient a bit pricy for it but it was convenient as I said and I would do anything to help my little guy! So leaving there I felt like he was taken care of properly and in good hands! The second time he went in for just a simple visit my son took him in, they were not friendly with my son or my dog this visit! They egged the poor little guy on when he would bark (he was scared) they would make snarky comments that were just not called for or movements that made him continue barking! It was an unpleasant experience for my son to take him there, he was very disappointed in how they acted. When you're in that line of work you should have compassion and care about animals, not make comments out movements that would escalate the situation. I'm very disappointed in how the second visit went and we will never be going back there again. read more

This team is really caring and sweet. The techs took very good care of my babies and were understanding of the differences in their temperaments. My dog, who another vet told me needed to be amputated, had his paw saved by Dr. Kile and his team. They were considerate of my financial constraints balanced with the needs of my pup. I feel glad knowing that Johnny and Rosie have a home now with Neighborhood Vet. Great place!!! Woke up Saturday morning to our little boxers face swollen. Needed an allergy shot ASAP. Normal vet was closed so started making calls. Not only were they able to see him that day but within hours. Everyone was super friendly and made our scared of the world rescue pup at ease. So long "Neighborhood Vet Clinic" We have been with Dr. Kile for over 20 years with various family dogs. We love Dr. Kile and his old staff when it was Aashne Animal Clinic and this review is no reflection on his care or his prior clinic. I was told that Dr. Kile will remain on for a couple of years before retiring. With the new ownership, new name, new staff comes new business models and I'm sure new ways to get more revenue. I'm ok with that, but what we do take issue with is their inefficiency and lack of common sense in order to make more money. Seems like a money grab whenever you have an appointment with any Dr. other than Dr. Kile and receptionist unapologetically reminds you she's "just the receptionist" so please don't ask her to do anything other than schedule or answer a phone. We have a dog that needs maintenance drugs that we have filled at the clinic rather than a pharmacy. We had bloodwork done a couple of months ago and tried to refill his meds this week and was told we needed more bloodwork. Why wasn't the blood draw that we just had, not inclusive of all the necessary tests needed? We are not the ones that put in the lab order, that's their job. Only reason is they probably want to get another office visit and another lab fee from us. My husband spoke with Dr. Kile over the phone and he seems to be frustrated that we weren't given our meds and said we should have been able to pick up the meds we needed. Well my husband called today to make sure it was available and yet again was given the same exact line that we needed to come in and have bloodwork done and that we would have to wait another day to speak with Dr. Kile as he was not in the clinic at the moment. The vet on duty refused to refill the meds. I just find it odd that one vet would have no issue with it an the other (new) vet would say that we need a blood test. WE TRIED! You all dropped the ball and now we have to jump through hoops to get thyroid meds? Clearly there is a patient file and can be reviewed to show that we have been with them (Aashne) for decades and I'm not making this up and we do what needs to be done for our pets. I'm very sad that Dr. Kile will no longer be caring for our pets and wish him the best in his next stage of life, but I'm going to have to look for a new clinic as these people are just not it. I plan on also telling all the people that I've referred Aashne over the years to go elsewhere is this is just like going to Banfield instead of your "Neighborhood" vet clinic. I have a family member in a different state that works for Banfield and know that they need to make certain quotas. I get the feeling that this is what is happening- not a family practice anymore. read more

We tried other vets and they seemed to do the minimum but this place went above and beyond by providing multiple options. We will be setting up all our pets to visit here in the future. read more

I called a few different vets late Saturday morning trying to get my dog inn for a first visit and to have her ear checked out. The ladies that answered the phone were extremely friendly and upfront about the cost for a Saturday visit, not to mention they were the only ones that told me to bring her in, all other places were too busy or closing early. I had my two young kiddos with me and my adopted pitbull, point being I had no clue how she would react to the visit, and my kids added an extra layer of complication. The ladies in the front office offered to help keep my kids entertained with stickers and conversation while I got checked in and went and got Lucy (my 60 lbs pitbull) out of the car. They had me checked in and back in a room within 5 minutes. Within another 5 mins the vet tech was in the room taking an assessment for the doctor. Dr. Fonza was in the room within about 10 minutes and walked in not phased at the wild scene of my kids and the overly excited dog! He immediately connected with my dog, getting down to her level to pet and love on her, and at the same time talking to my daughter about the things she liked best, unicorns lol! He was so friendly, putting me at ease immediately. Told me what he thought was going on, and what test he needed to run. The visit was fast, and the entire time I was told what was going on, the potential cost, and future care that was needed. Without a doubt the best veterinarian I have ever been to! Dr. Fonza is amazing! And even the office staff is amazing! When it was time to leave, the two lovely ladies came into the room with the meds we needed, and they even had the credit card machine and receipt for me, so that I wouldn't have to move the whole troop back into the lobby. As if that wasn't enough, they even helped me walk my dog out so that I could tend to my kiddos! A sincere thank you to Dr. Fonza and the amazing office staff! We have found our forever vet! *I rarely leave reviews, and I know this one is really long, but I know looking for a good vet can be difficult, especially when there are so many around, and I wanted to share my honest experience in the hopes that it will help someone else find this amazing place! read more

Last week I brought my cat Mittens in to be checked and to have a cyst on her back looked at. I met Dr Fonza for the first and he was great! He talked to me and took time to explain my cat's condition and also answered all of my questions. We talked about other medical issues pertaining to pets and I found him to be thorough and caring. Our bullmastiff is a challenging patient - highly reactive, we typically dread having to take her to the vet. I can't tell you how amazing this team is. Dr. Kile is our most favorite veterinarian - he sees our girl for who she is and respects her situation. Our favorite tech is Becca, who somehow always disarms our dog to the point that whatever has been done in the clinic, she leaves happy and gets home peacefully. Half a star if I could. The staff was helpful, or do it seems. I took my dog for a checkup and they gave me pain medication because he had "inflammation on his penis" so I have been giving it to him, well today his tail is limp and kind of swollen at the base.. I called to ask if it's a reaction to the medication or what. And was told that if I want to bring him in for another checkup or for antibiotics I was more than welcome to, I asked why I wasn't given them the first time if they're needed? And she said "like I said if you're concerned you're more than welcome to bring him in on Monday" no shit I'm concerned? He had an appointment on February 6th to be neutered but I'm going to another place now because as sad as it seems and cliche as it sounds, my OPINION is that they only care about the money. Or else everything would have been taken care of in one visit, including the prescription of antibiotics not just pain medication. My dog is like my child, so it's not about the money for me. I just wanted to be sure he was okay now I have to start back at square 1 with another veterinarian. Thanks but no thanks, I wouldn't recommend this place to the Tiger King. read more
