The people at the desk are always nice BUT I had to have my dog put down there. Horrible experience! Dr lang never came out to talk to us first. The tech took her into the back for Dr lang to sedate her. When she brought my dog out to us to finish the procedure it seemed she was already dead! Her head flopped back and forth like she was gone!! It was horrible and when I think of my beautiful dog this always comes to mind. I just canceled my dogs Wellness Plan with Banfield Animal Hospital. They have really taken a turn from BAD to WORSE. They don't allow you to go into the room when the so called "vet" is seeing your pet. When the vet is finished he comes out with your pet and rushes thru the questions you have. I asked about getting my puppy spayed and I asked if I can schedule her surgery and he said I should go elsewhere to get the surgery. Really!? Aren't you all "vets" and isn't this a "Hospital"? What is a routine surgery, you are sending me elsewhere? So why do I pay for a plan with your hospital!? This was red flag #1. Red flag #2 was that I noticed that all the windows were covered so you don't see what is going in the room when they are treating your pet. This makes me feel they are hiding something and made me sick to my stomach -pictures below. Please please if you love your pet DO NOT take them to Banfield Animal Hospital. So how the hell do I schedule an appointment with you guys? No one answers the phone. I go to try and schedule online but there are NO appointments available AT ALL EVER, how can that be? No availability Apri, May or JUNE like come one guys, get it together update your times efficiently. There is no way you guys are all booked up for 2-3 months in advance with all the bad reviews I hear about this specific Banfield. Every other Banfield 10 miles away or further has SOME type of availability, but this one in Nanuet always seems to not have ANY availability, I'm just shocked & highly disappointed. This practice has really gone down hill over the years. When I first started taking my dog here about 3 years ago, I was able to do in-person appointments and have discussions with the vet techs/vet and actually be there with my dog when the exam and vaccines were being completed. Now it seems all the appointments are drop off only. In addition, it's very difficult to schedule appointments. I pretty much had to schedule my dog's appointments about a month in advance. Ever since I've been doing the drop off appointments, my dog's behavior has been different when going to the appointments and when being picked up. Sadly, this place makes it feel like your pet is just a number. Then there is the front desk staff - the front end has been quite unorganized since the pandemic started. You can tell the staff is likely overworked and stressed, as their attitudes reflect it. Their poor mood is passed on to the customers and most likely to all the pets they encounter as well. Unfortunately, most of the great staff members and vets that were there 3 years ago no longer work there. I'll be cancelling my plan after I move and will not be coming back. read more

make sure you ask questions regarding vaccines because apparently they just give all unnecessary vaccines just to make MONEY. they don't give their clients proper consent to side effects, protocols to follow if side effects do occur! my dog had an allergic reaction and I had not idea what to do and what was going on! God forbid I left her in the house alone, she's only a baby!!! They gave her: -bordetella vaccine (no im not planning to board my dog so she didn't need this) - heartguard vaccine - summer is ending and we do not live in NY (THIS IS NOT NEEDED b/c this is for mosquitoes that cause heart warms) -lyme vaccine - again... summer is ending . IDK anything ticks that survive summer. They asked NO questions, informed me of ANY side effects that can possibly happen, and without knowing how this all would affect my dog,,, they gave it all to her at the same time. I had to bring back my dog back to the ER multiple time back this week. is this being a good advocate for your clients? for those who cant speak for themselves? you should be educating people so they can make the best SAFE decisions for their animals!!! read more

I would give this place a 0 star but unfortunately to leave a review I have to give somewhat a rating. Banfield, you neglected my dog's abnormal blood panels time and time again - and guess what? He passed away yesterday due to an enlarged liver, diabetes, and a failing pancreas. My mom has been going to Banfield for Bentley's entire life, he was 9 years old. A nine year old miniature schnauzer who's average life expectancy is 12-15 years. Let me start off with this - Banfield has been doing blood panels on Bentley for years and every time told us, "he's so healthy, everything looks great" when in reality, Bentley had elevated liver enzymes, low level of WBC and RBC in addition to increased glucose levels AKA why did you assume he was healthy and okay? I'm confused. Aren't you all licensed health professionals? Anyway, Bentley took a turn for the worst - and we called to see if they would see Bentley considering he's been with them for the last 9 years and on a Friday they said we could squeeze him on Tuesday. Tuesday? TUESDAY? My dog was consistently vomiting and not being responsive and you wanted me to wait until Tuesday, a whole 4 days? Thank you for the amazing bedside manner, sarcasm intended. We needed to access this situation - so we took him elsewhere. Long story short, Bentley's life could've been saved - the problem could've been addressed months or even a year ago and he would still be alive - so thank you, Banfield! Thank you for being absolute zero help to my Bentley. We will never be taking our animals there again and will be recommending all of our friends and family to do the same! Good Riddens! read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. Two of my babies have gone to this location for THIRTEEN years the other ELEVEN. Their whole lives. I had insurance for both. We fell behind on payments and my dog started seizing. I tried calling but no one answers so we went in and they refused to see her. We would have paid out of pocket for the visit but the girl said sorry and gave the address to the emergency vet down the road. They literally saw my dog wrapped in her blanket (no longer seizing but not looking well) and turned us away! These people are not about pets at all, there's no empathy it's just a business to them! There wasn't a single person I even recognized to beg for help...such turnover in this location. They had us scrambling from the emergency vet (where we paid $200 but couldn't afford the full scanning) to then calling banfield's billing dept to settle what we owed so they can see us. My poor baby had another seizure. My husband called this location about 10x bc no one answers the phone trying again to get us squeezed in and instead of showing concern for my pet, a pet they have seen for 11yrs- they simply said "sorry we can't see her until tomorrow". There was absolutely no concern! We went back to the emergency vet (this place is amazing btw) and unfortunately my baby girl had too many seizures at that point and died later that evening. I was looking for a veterinarian service that wouldn't rob me with unnecessary costs. A friend referred me to this pet hospital and had nothing but good things to say about the Vets and staff. Our cat is a trap and neuter rescue who was socialized for adoption. That being said he does not trust strangers. I called a week before and was seen yesterday for my cat's in grown toenail. Dr. Melendez took such good care of my cat, and afterwards came out to give me advice on next steps. I would recommend this place. The front desk staff were great and very helpful. I couldn't go in because of covid precautions, and as a nurse working at that frontlines I understand very well why owners cannot go in. I don't know where to even begin. I have been a loyal Banfield customer for about 4 years now. They have looked after my first fur baby and now my second. I have always been patient with them being that they always seemed to be very busy and understaffed but they always took the best care of my babies. The doctors and nurses were always super informative and sweet. The front desk has always just been blah but holy crap it's at its absolute worst. Now you barely get to speak with the vet that's taking care of your pet and the front desk girls are just absolutely terrible. Here's what happened to me today and I have had enough. I drop my baby off at 8am to get neutered. When I left I forgot to tell them to make sure he gets his bordetella shot so 45 mins goes by and I figured I'd call. I was immediately put on hold for 36 min!!!!! I finally hung up and called back twice. I got hung up on first (hopefully was an accident) then was asked if they can put me on hold again, when I said no don't put be on hold because I just was for 36 min before I hung up she said she has to or she can take my name and number and call me back. I then began to tell her what I need to say will only take 1 min of her time. She was rude and said she has a client in front of her. I had to drive all the way back down there to add in one thing. This is absolutely ridiculous. When I was explaining to the girl in front what happened and why I was upset and that I wanted to cancel my care plan with them because of it she literally didn't care one bit. She never apologized either. Her exact words were if you're unhappy you should prob go somewhere where you will be happy! What the hell kind of customer service is this. It's a freaking circus in there! I won't be back here. Never again, we're done with this place. it has never been the greatest experience during the 8 years we've been bringing our dog, which I guess is to be expected with corporate owned entities, but has continued to deteriorate steadily the last two years. last straw - we dropped our guy off for a physical and teeth cleaning, arriving as instructed at 8:45 am, and waited on line for close to 40 minutes until he was checked in. we were told someone would call in a few hours to give and update and let us know when we could collect him. no one called all day. nobody answered the phone there all day. At 5 o'clock I went to the store and told them to bring me my dog. They claimed he was in recovery and I could not take him. I told them he had not eaten in close to 24 hours, and I have no idea why a simple appointment required them to keep my dog for 8+ hours, with absolutely zero communication from them, for all I know he has not had water or been walked and has been sitting in a crate all day and that they needed to bring him to me or I would ask the police to come and make them do it. I'm assuming the place is just severely understaffed and very poorly managed. but we are those people that treat our dog like a child, like many others, and there is no way this is acceptable. there are different doctors and different people working there all the time. some are nasty, but most are nice enough , though they don't know us, our dog, and don't have either the time or inclination to ask (the doctor referred to our dog as her 3 times, how can you not know what sex the dog is? - probably because there are 24 other dogs in crates in the back I guess ) They are seemingly just overwhelmed. there's no way I will continue to use them. read more

I signed up for a year plan for my puppy. At first i thought I was receiving a very good deal until several problems occurred. 1. I asked the vet to give my dog his shots in front of me, she didn't seem to like that very much. She told me that they are supposed to take the dogs to the back to give them their shots. Since I insisted she listened to my request but she felt the necessity give me an attitude the whole time. 2.I dropped off my dog early morning to get neutered. When I picked up my dog in the evening and I got home I realized he had a big cut/tear on his ear. since it was late I called Banfield the next day and they couldn't explain the cut on my dogs ears. I realized my dog was not in safe hands. 3. Every time after my first visit the vet would give me an attitude. My dog would get very anxious since we had to wait almost minutes every time we got there. So the vet would get annoyed by him very quickly. She would make remarks like "have you considered training?" I then told her my dog is in a puppy obedience course. Always put on hold with attitudes and every single appointment my pet had is asked to come in early or they will reschedule. My pet was sick and asked if she could be seen and the front desk was extremely rude telling me no to go to an ER vet. I pay for a pet plan to include her visits I am not going someplace else when they clearly had a lot of availability. After being put in n hold they said to come in to no one there. I've been going to this location for nearly 10 years now. I've been to at least 5 other locations and I've taken 3 dogs and 1 cat here specifically, preferably. I've gone here at least once a month in the past year with my 4 year old pit mix who has chronic arthritis. I explained to them upfront about a custody battle with my ex so she was brought in for any and every minor thing. Sarah, Kim and the rest of the receptionists are amazing. They know each one of my dogs and Kim especially was comforting when one of my dogs died of old age. Dr. Hliang diagnosed my pit with a luxating patella in one of her knees before she was one years old. She explained what it was and prescribed medication. She explained to me that she'd have to take joint supplements for the rest of her life and it's cheaper to buy them online without prescription, but to take medication home that night so she could start right away. Because of this information and the neglect on my ex's part to give her her joint supplement daily, I was able to regain custody of my dog. I've seen Dr. Schneider too. I don't have high regards for her. She won't touch/examine any of my dogs, she has her assistant do everything. She is too quick to diagnose and prescribe pills, and she has never explained anything to me. She whispers to her assistant in front of me but won't ever include me on the conversation. I've had to make multiple appointments after seeing Dr. Schneider to see someone else who will actually talk and explain my pets condition to me. I see the high ratings of her in other comments and I do see her take time with other clients. It is a plus that she speaks Spanish, but I refuse to take my pets to her. I met Dr. Chin when I brought my dachshund in for a visit. My dog was already very old and very sick when I rescued him. Dr. Chin was like the light at the end of the tunnel. He answered every question in detail. We created a plan for recovery. He was always reassuring and upfront about any risk. I made him all my pets primary vet. He's great with all my dogs and cat. If he's not in or available, I will not go, unless it's an emergency. My recommendation to any unsatisfied members, if you don't like one particular vet, go to another. See another within the facility. If there's one you like best then make them your primary vet so when making appointments you're matched with that vet and not whoever is available. If you don't like any vet within the location you're going to, go to another. You can easily have your file transferred over. I've gone to get services outside Banfield before I knew they existed and even now for an orthopedic specialist, and nothing beats Banfield's rates. I also have peace of mind knowing that wherever I'm traveling to, if there's a Banfield nearby, I can always take them there without any extra charge. read more

They truly dont care about your pet. There is NO emergency. You cannot go there without a appointment. Dont let them lie to you. When you call and ask them to come in they tell you we are not a emergency vet. Do your pet a favor go to Oradell. In the long run its cheaper and they are true Professionals. The only good person at banfield in paramus is KATRINA ACOSTA. She is kind and cares. The only girl in the front that follow throughs. i'm currently watching my friends chiwienie, and briught her in for what i thought was booster shots/annual shots. turns out she needed ones she's never gotten before.. at 4:15 we brought the dog back after noticing HUGE hives swelling up her face.. 3 minutes after we left,and had gotten worse when we rushed back. after speaking to a couple of vet techs, they told us this was normal in most small dogs with this type of shot, that went up the nose... they did not warn us of these side effects or tell us to prepare for such possibility, especially since it was the first time for the shot. concent would not have been given if i'd known what i was walking into. they did not inform or ask or even say "hey she may react we want to watch her for an extra hour ". the shot for boarding dogs when going somewhere. we're just lucky she didn't stop breathing. don not recommend coming here.‍ read more

What a NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!! I brought my dog in at 8am for an ear check drop off. 3 hours pass, 6 hours pass. Finally I decided to call, the line is busy, I decide to go to the location. They tell me my dog needs authorization for the ear swap even tho you sign an authorization when you drop your pet off. Without giving me an update or allowing me to see him they just tell me a price and to come back , they will call me at 4:30pm. Now it's been 8 hours of course there was no call from them. I end up calling them and going back to the location. In total my dog was there 10 HOURS!!!!!!!!! I WAS IN TEARS WHEN I GOT OUTSIDE!!!!! I REALIZED HE HASN'T USED THE BATHROOM, EATEN, OR HAD WATER. This was a heartbreaking experience!!! I use to have the wellness plan but cancelled due to the low quality customer service. The only reason I went today is because I thought it was a simple check up. I never guessed it would be such a terrible experience!!!!! read more

Terrible Communication!! Terrible Care!! Do Not bring your fur animals here!! I am not the type of person to leave reviews but my experience here has made it impossible not to make this review. A simple "mistake" caused my dog to have an allergic reaction that could have been prevented if the staff and doctors had ACTUALLY listened to me. Knowing my dog has not done well with vaccines prior, I made sure to make 2 drop off appointments in May 2021 to split up her vaccines and preventive care treatments. I spoke to 3 employees to REITERATE her common reaction to vaccines and how she can ONLY tolerate a max of 2 vaccines at a time. They even have a new "drop off / pick up" form that ask you questions about your animals health. One question being "has you animal had any reactions to vaccines? Yes or no" with lines for you to explain more in-depth. When I came across this question, I circled "Yes" and explained her common symptoms. 4 different sources explaining my dogs prior reactions and YET it was still ignored. When I get a call back from Doctor Olsen, I'm told she was given all of her vaccines and she simply said "I'm sorry I wasn't made known of this information. The front staff is new but your dog is completely fine right now". After 2 hours, my dog blows up like a balloon. She had hives along her entire body, her eyes were barely open, she was constantly itching and clearly uncomfortable. Within minutes, her throat starts to close and the worst part was seeing her in this pain and knowing this all could have been prevented if the employees at Banfield of Nanuet COULD COMMUNICATE! If 3 staff members could not relay IMPORTANT information to the doctor, there are bigger issues that need to be discussed here. I REPEAT: DO NOT BRING YOUR FUR ANIMALS TO A PRACTICE THAT WILL MAKE "MISTAKES" LIKE THIS. *Correction* It's a mistake if this was the first time but this isn't the first time. Brought my dog in for a problem and will simply say that the vet (that which you can surmise from other posts) was rude and condescending. I've been using this location for many years and can say that as a health professional myself (which I did not divulge at the visit), Banfiled management needs to examine it's vets and how they relate to the people who bring in their pets. If you're recommending treatment explain WHY. If you're recommending meds, explain WHY and possible problems with the meds. Not one word was offered as to possible problems with the prescribed meds even though our records with Banfield clearly show a possible intolerance based on my dog's history. Was seen by a VERY rude vet in Nanuet, NY. The assistants and other workers are very nice. Went for a lingering respiratory issue for my cat and while explaining symptoms and behavior, she would cut me off in the middle of a sentence and continue on with her exam. At one point, she spoke to me like a child and in a very condescending tone. I bit my tongue. I went there for antibiotics, but when she tallied up all the different charges based on her assessment of treatment, the bill was over $300. I started questioning each item to see if there was an alternate treatment path that was not so expensive. After 10 mins or so of explaining each item, she wanted to know what my decision would be and when I hesitated, she told me "it was too complicated" for her to explain the different 'wellness plans' to me and she had other patients waiting. Right then, I made decision to opt for NO TREATMENT...at least from them. I went to the front desk to pay for the office visit and told the girl that they could've gotten my $300 (after all, I want my pet to be well and I have other pets they could've made money on), but instead they'll get the $45 visit fee. Girl rushed back inside to get a customer manager who listened to what happened and it seemed to me that my complaint about this vet was probably not the first complaint about her (and I see from the other reviews, this is true). They have other vets that work there that probably have much better people skills, but I'll be going back to my original vet. At least I won't be up-sold and over sold on treatment and services that I don't need and be treated so poorly by the vet. I guess I should've known: it's a vet clinic of a major store chain....it's all about making the sale and using your pet and emotions as the vehicle to do that. read more

I visited their location in Petsmart in Nanuet today...not impressed. First, let's get the good out of the way; I brought my new foster dog we rescued in to have a severely ingrown nail (about a year old cocker spaniel, probably never had been groomed before) removed. They successfully clipped the nail from this nervous dog and saw him on relatively short notice (next day appointment). Hence the 2 star rating instead of one. I had already paid to have his shots done, groomed, and it was down to one stubborn nail that had curled around into his paw pad a little. This dog is very sweet, but he is very nervous about having his head or paws touched and he was in some pain from this overgrown nail. To make this story short...I needed the vets help to clip one nail. This dog is in reasonably good shape considering he has had about a year of neglect, we have him already on ear drops ordered from 1800PETMEDS to take care of what is clearly an ear infection of some sort. I explained that he has made progress with the Zymox I already paid for in about a week of treatment. The vet INSISTED that the infection was "horrible" and needed their prescription only medication that ran $75, along with the $50 dollar ear culture (to tell me what I already knew), along with the standard $50 dollar vet visit, along with...in all I paid $220 (would have been $270 if I did not start to argue the topical antiseptic for the foot is over the counter purchase and not necessary) to have this dogs nail clipped! This was after I explained that I rescued this dog for charity and was trying to have him prepped for a adoption without spending too much. Even after that, they STILL tried to push their monthly preventative plan on me! Well, I guess no good deed goes unpunished as they say. I have a hard time believing this vet is in the best interest of your pet, given the other reviews I have read on the Banfield vet franchise as a whole. I have experienced this before...at a greedy car dealership that tries to push accessories you do not need on your car. While it is easier to say no to a car salesman for a paint protectant that's probably going to do no good, it is a little more difficult to say no to a pet in discomfort - even if it is something as simple as an ingrown nail. Everyone has to pay their bills and they have to make money, but after experiencing the amazing value and care I get from my regular vet; Tranquility Vet in Tranquility, NJ, I am reminded why the hour drive is worth it every time. read more

If you love your pet DO NOT go to ANY Banfield location WHATSOEVER. They are business people and don't care about your dog. I took both my dogs to this Nanuet location for about a year and it took me that long to realize that this place is out to get your money. They try to push every possible expensive medical procedure on you that would have cost thousands without even really assessing the effectiveness among themselves or with me. After procedures / medications are given, they didn't even explain the results with me. I paid about $250 for my dog's chest x rays- 1 month and half passed by and still NO FOLLOW UP. I still have yet to know what the results were. I thought the Wellness Plan that I was pressured to sign up for was a good security plan for them, but it actually is MORE expensive. Even with the Wellness plan and paying about $80 a month for both dogs' plans, i still spent about $800 over the course of 3 months for care that was "not covered" by the plan. I called customer service to cancel the plan, and the representative tries any and every method to get you to not cancel your plan . "what if we gave you a free month?" "what if we didn't charge your for the next 3 months?' IT scares me sometimes how this place has completely commercialized the act of taking genuine care of your dogs health. All said and done I've been going to another private vet that got GREAT reviews on Yelp, and it was totally worth it. Even though they dont' offer a Wellness plan and may be a bit pricier in general BUT the price difference is really not that much. We're talking maybe a $50 difference but the quality of exams, procedures, and genuine care that I have been receiving from my private vet is outstanding. He calls me 2 days after every appointment to give me the results of my dogs' blood tests, stool tests, etc. This is what a vet SHOULD be doing. They SHOULD genuinely like dogs and care about them! In hindsight, i realized the the Banfield vets handled my dogs VERY ROUGHLY (maltese) when administering shots, nasal meication, you name it. My vet right now is very gentle, careful with my dogs, and even when administering anything always makes sure the dog is comfortable and as least stressed as possible. On 04/11/15,I had a scheduled appointment with Dr. Teresa Hlaing-Byman for a followup on my dog, who had Giardia and completed medications prescribed by Dr Schneider (who was very caring during our previous visit). During this visit, the vet assistant was very helpful & thorough. Dr Hlaing, was rude from the beginning of the visit and rushed- hardly checking the dog and mostly on the computer- spent about 2-3 min and then stated to put the dog in his carrier since he was done being checked and we were waiting on the stool sample I had given to the assistant. After waiting 10-15 min, she at the doorway stated he was still positive and should undergo treatment again even though she stated he could be positive on the assay even though it has cleared. Although my dog symptomatically was no longer having diarrhea and gaining weight, she states he needs metronidazole and panacur again and would all cost 100 dollars. I expressed to her that I was considering getting meds from online this time since I paid for everything upfront last time (the antibiotic costs 0.30 cents a pill- so 1.50 versus 30 dollars from Bainfield) and had questions and she, still at the doorway, stated she is very busy and she is the only doctor there and has other patients. She tried to convince me to order half online and half from there- she didnt even give me a moment to think about what would be best before she said she is very busy again (this was a 9:30am appointment with 3 other pets there and none waiting since we can see it on their computer screen)...I asked her if she would at least mind if she could right down the correct dosages for my dog so I could order it and she said she does not have time to set aside to write these things down and said to "figure out what my husband and I wanted and tell the front desk" and she left. She did not take any time to explain and was unprofessional. I, myself, am a Doctor and Dr Hlaing had the worst bedside manner I have ever interacted with. If I treated my patients like this I would be fired. We left and the receptionist, Kim, was very consoling seeing how upset my husband and I were after this type of treatment- stated she would let Becky, the manager know. Dr Hlaing called after finding out we left and stated NOW she wanted to make sure our dog had the care he needed- I explained that we do not need her help now when she didnt have time during the appointment THAT WE PAY FOR and I order my meds online after consulting another vet. Take my advice- DO NOT GO TO Dr Hlaing (pronounced "Lang") and make your appointments with Dr Schneider or Dr Chin- we pay too much money to not have professionals with compassion taking care of our pets and respecting their owners. read more

Terrible experience with Banfield Pet Hospital in Nanuet 155 E Route 59 , Nanuet, NY 10954-2911* My Himalayan cat very stubborn cat, unfortunately it takes a lot of effort to groom my little baby. She is a bred of so called "scaredy cats". She does let me groom her and as the result she gets very matted. I tried to help her now the she is covered with mutts and I was not able to shave her because she is....a scaredy cat. When I realized that situation with my cat it has gotten out of hand and it is miserable trying to groom her and it is time to take her to professional: a grooming company or at list get a sedative medication and groom her at home. With said problem, I called Banfield Pet Hospital located in Nanuet. Now, here is the story of TERRIBLE experience with professional veterinarian. Upon my arrival the doctor Teresa Hlaing-Byman began her conversation with next sentence: " Two of my assistants told me that you called them and told them that you cat is lethargic." I answered : That is a big word for my poor English , I'm not into such big words . Although I did tell them that my little baby is not happy and agitated with her matted fur. It makes her very uncomfortable and she is running around the house trying to take the knots out off her fur and about to get skin infection." The lady veterinarian "doctor": "That means my staff is lying or you are lying?" Shocking words for me from the lips of professional! Pet doctor basically harassed me without any reason. I came to get some help for my lovely cat, because I was not able to see how she is straggling with her uncomfortable fur situation . But I did received unwelcome greeting from rude pet "doctor" Keep in mind she did not look at my cat yet, never touched my can yet. She called help and young assistant came in and took my cat from the carrier in one second and put her back to the cage the next. Lady veterinarian doctor went to her office to do estimate for my cat to sedate her and shave her. Came back with estimate for $480. She also asked me to pay for today's "visit" and "consultation". Reminder: she did NOT even touched my cat yet. When I asked what consultation she is talking about and why do I need to pay for services NOT rendered? She started to threaten me with collector that will be knocking on my door. Why would I pay if she never looked and never touched my cat. They did not except coupon for free Exam and consultation , and I believe it is very fare and appropriate payment for not so fare and not at all professional visit. read more

Worst worst worst veterinarian care. From the vaccines, where they missed the legs and had to repoke my dog like 20 twenty times. My dog had a dangerous reaction to one of the vaccines and when I called Banfield their response is that this year many dogs are having that reaction and that someone should have warned me about it. Another time, when I called up to find up what dosage of a prescribed medicine to give my dog, I had a Banfield office employee tell me that the vet was too busy and I should go find another place to ask questions. To the cheating and shady hidden prices, where they forgot to give us the rabies tag, admitted it, and then later tried to charge us $60 for something they never gave us. Every visit they somehow find new medicines or things that they say are included and then charge you for. To the instability and incompetence, vets either get fired, go missing, don't show up, etc. and the interim vet does not know what they are doing or your dog's history. To unprofessional and lacking customer service, when trying to speak with a supervisor you can wait days to weeks and you will not get a phone call back. read more

We were just about done with Banfield after having had not such good experiences up in North Jersey. We loved the doctors at the Banfield in Mt. Laurel, NJ before we had moved. Dr. Schneider completely changed our minds. She is AMAZING! She takes her time and has really gotten to know not only our dog but also our family. She really was a game changer for us. Also, Kim at the front is ALWAYS ready to hear out our concerns with our dog's health and give us a sympathetic ear. Our dog is aging and it's been devastating to deal with her many different health concerns but Kim is always willing to just listen to us and reassure us that everything will be alright. read more

I have been to several Banfields and this one is so far the best one. The store (Petsmart) itself is not too busy so you don't have to worry about wading through tens of animals and people. The desk clerks at Banfield are very nice and with it, and mainly understand that you are most likely coming there with a sick pet. They were very accomodating to the fact that my dog is from a rescue and is not too keen on other dogs. The doctors are also very nice and knowledgable. The only reason I don't give it a 5 star is because I had my dog's teeth cleaned and was asked to drop her off very early in the morning but yet, her labs, anesthesia and the cleaning did not start until about 3 PM. I would prefer better organization than that. I even told them I am very flexible and can bring her in at any time. I do understand however that they must have their reasons for doing things their way. Overall, I am a satisfied customer. read more

I've personally never had a bad experience at this location. It makes me sad to see all of these negative reviews because I've felt like the staff has always treated me and my dog with respect and like they truly care! I've been going to banfield for years for my dog and he's had multiple problems and our primary is Dr. Chin who I think is truly amazing! He will stay there and explain everything with extreme detail and in ways that will make you understand and does not rush! He does not try to push any medication or procedures that you may not be comfortable with just yet or cannot afford and works with you!! The only reason I gave it four stars is because it can sometimes be rather expensive (and we have the insurance plan) but like I said, they have never push anything onto me yet try their best to accommodate and help my dog! While I would not go to them for emergencies, they are great. I have read someone elses comment about how they wont do their dogs shots in front of them, which I was surprised because they have always done them in front of me. My cat has been a patient here for about 2 years under the wellness plan. I brought him in today for a dental cleaning. I brought him in at 8:30 a.m. and they told me they will call me when he is ready to be picked up which will be between 3-6 pm. I went home to wait and got a voice mail from Dr. Schneider saying that they do not have time to take care of my cat and to bring him back a different day. My cat sat in his carrier case for 6 hours being neglected and starving since they said he must fast before the procedure. Dr. Schneider said they did not treat him because another patient took longer than expected and that my cat does not like being there so she did not want to start today. I had to remind Dr. Schneider that no cat would like to be there and what they did was negligent. Dr. Schneider is incompetent and as an animal lover, keep your pets as far away from Banfield Hospital as possible. This was the last straw for me as I cancelled my wellness plan and found a new veterinarian. I have had other incidents happen when I brought my cat in for routine procedures, I am adamant about watching my cat be treated. The staff said they had to do blood work in the back but lied to me because they came back with him 20 minutes later saying everything else has been done, knowing I wanted to watch. There is so many things wrong with this place they don't know what they are doing, they are very sketchy, unprofessional, incompetent and negligent. Any pet under the care of Dr. Schneider is at risk. read more
