This place is dangerous for pets and a joke! We have a dog we adopted so he gets extremely stressed if left in kennels for an extended period of time this banfield location is very aware of that and promised if we dropped him off at 7:45 he'd get right in for a teeth cleaning so we booked the appointment and dropped him off. The morning we dropped him again they confirmed he'd be treated right away so he's not sitting in a kennel all day dr Cano called at 1pm saying my dog has a heart murmur he had just barely been getting to my dog he'd be in the kennel for 5 hours at that point we told him don't start the cleaning we are going to pick him up he was so rude to my mom on the phone she was in tears. When we get there the front desk ladies were so rude and unprofessional they purposely took almost 15 minutes to bring my dog out from the back like it was a joke to them just to keep him back there a little bit longer When Dr. Cano finally came out after we got my dog, he was rude and unprofessional as well. We ended up taking the dog to another vet right after to get checked out because he could barely walk straight and didn't seem to have gotten any water all day, the other vet says he doesn't have a heart murmur. He was just extremely stressed to the point that it could be unhealthy and dangerous. I would never ever bring any of my pets here again or anywhere where Dr. Cano works. This place turns over staff it seems like fairly quickly when they had Dr. Drake. She was great but they ran her off if anyone knows where she's working now please let me know and please do not bring any pets here. read more

My dog is sick so I called yesterday to confirm whether this location could see him today. The tech stated they could do a drop off. I scheduled the appointment online and received a call one hour before my dog's appointment today stating they can't see him. I understand if you are booked. However, not only are there appointments available online but I spoke to someone yesterday and confirmed that there was availability to see him. Utterly ridiculous. Not it. Booked appointments for my two cats and planned my work day around it. They called me twice to change one of the cats appointment, fine no big deal. They call again and want my other cat to come early and they say since you are a family go ahead and bring your other cat at the same time at 8:15am. I get there at 8:16am and they say ok since you have both cats here now I am not sure if we will be able to see them both now. What?! I express to the women checking us in, who by the way is wearing sunglasses and has not showered in days, that the person I talked to just yesterday told me to bring them both in at 8:15. She cuts me off and says 'that was me, I told you 8am.' So I left, I am not going to be lied to after being flexible. I am leaving Banfield in Northglenn after 11 years. I have had a few bad experiences with this location in the last 5 years. I have had some good doctors and technicians but the bad that has recently taken place is just too much. This last interaction and the one a couple months ago could have definitely hurt my dog because of their actions and I can no longer dismiss it as a fluke incident. I would definitely recommend for people to do their research before settling on this location. Brandon is also a rude tech I encounter over the weekend on top of everything else I just went through here that he was actually a part of. You have to have empathy and sensitivity to handle upset pet parents and he does not. He can definitely use some better training if this is the career path he is choosing. He was the icing on the cake for me to decide to leave after 11 years. They have gotten a lot of money out of me and to be treated as rudely as I was is sad! We have been going to Banfield for a couple years and the doctors are always very helpful and friendly. Though they do book up and depending on the service, there may be a wait, the service is always very professional and we feel very confident in their care of our pup. We have always been greeted quickly and the doctor explains things clearly and patiently. We did have one visit with some miscommunication between the assistant and the doctor (some after-care instructions), but that was cleared up quickly and all settled. This location is the worst. They double booked my appointment for my dog and called the day of and said I need to reschedule when I confirmed the day before. I booked my appointment around my work schedule and even have a confirmation email and someone changed my appointment without telling me. When I stated i would be there at my scheduled time, they told me they would not see my dog. Terrible customer service and no manager to actually handle issues. The cherry on top. The staff and vet are all very kind. Both my dogs are treated here and recently had surgery. One of my pups managed to get his cone off and chewed up the straps. I called them and they were immediately able to see me to take a look his stitches and get him outfitted with a new cone. Very accommodating. read more

We pay $60/month for pet insurance. This location can never see our dog. They never have appointments or openings. Not accommodating at all. It is constant excuses of why they cannot get our dog in. Our dog is sweet. Our old branch, they all loved her, treated her so wonderful, she was happy. That Banfield branch closed last year unfortunately. This location and the one on Wadsworth and 52nd that we have visited since, have bad customer service. The doctor who was at this location, left, he was kind and good to our dog as well. You would think a store that caters to animals well being would have people who care about animals. Maybe instead of closing amazing locations, you should keep them open and help out longtime customers. We are very disappointed. We moved to Colorado in March, 2016, with our three dogs. Banfield is only a couple of blocks from our house. They are fine for well pet maintenance, but that is all. They will not tell you that your pet's first exam is free. If your dog has any type of illness, you get referred to a specialist. Every team you take your pet in, you see a different vet, because the good vets quit. The staff turnover is ridiculous. On one of our visits, we were quoted $42 for the appointment and $80 for the medication. Then, the vet wanted to biopsy my dogs arm and suggested two additional medications. So, an the initial quote of $122 ended up being over $500, only to be told our dog was dying of liver failure. (So what was the point of the biopsy to see if he was a candidate for further surgery.) I don't know if everyone at Banfield is on commission or what, but bring all of your credit cards with you if you go. Within a year, we are down to one dog and he will not be going to Banfield. We will be looking for a real veterinarian. read more

Updated review. We adopted a second pup 3 months after our first and have been taking our two dogs here for 3+ years. They've always been helpful and informative. No place is perfect but I trust the doctors and staff and they've gotten us in in a pinch when we've had semi emergencies come up. We just adopted a third dog and will be bringing her here as well. It's not the cheapest care but that's part of owning a pet. If you can't afford it don't get a dog. We would highly recommend this Banfield! read more

This branch has worked with all of our babies and are always very friendly! Called to let them know one of our babies was acting very unusual and wanted to get her in right away. My beloved dog was hit by a hit and run driver on our property, i rushed him to this vet clinic as i used the pet smart here for grooming also, the staff and Dr. Cory immediately took Bentley back and begin treatment on him but they couldn't save him.They were so kind ,compassionate, with Bentley and myself, they gave me all the time i needed to say goodbye before they put him to sleep. Then a few days later i received a heartfelt sympathy card from Dr.Cory and his staff in which everyone wrote note expressing their sympathy for the passing of Bentley.I had never used them til that day but would never hesitate to take my pet to theme can only speak for DR.Cory and his staff, but would highly recommend them.I say thank you for your kindness during my time of grief. read more

Looking back over the years I realized I made a mistake ... When I first moved to Denver I did not have a vet to take my cat to. When I was shopping at Petsmart one day with my cat I went to Banfield Pet Hospital to inquire about membership and services. One of the doctors came out and seemed knowledgeable about felines and totally understood the high maintenance ones (like mine). After a decent conversation with this doctor I decided to take my baby here. Although this doctor is friendly, pleasant to talk with, and is knowledgeable, she is not knowledgeable about my cat's condition and it seemed like we went around in circles with diagnosis and treatments. She even referred me to a vet hospital that was useless and did not help. It was a big waste of money. I thought since my cat had to have so many doctor visits, Banfield was the place to go with free visits on the Wellness Plan. When I adopted another cat I began taking him here as well. I never really had a problem until he had a urinary track infection. When I brought him in to Banfield, they told me they were unable to help me out and again referred me to this vet hospital that is highly expensive and do not treat animals the right way. What good is your preferred vet clinic if they can really never help you or your pet? Just today I went to Banfield to see a specific doctor, the only doctor that I have seen since going, and low and behold another doctor came into the room. Not only was this doctor useless, she was trying to charge me up the ying yang for all these ridiculous treatments she was recommending. She was rushing through the whole 10 minutes we were in the room as her lunch break was next. Not only do I drive an hour (45 minutes on a good day) to this specific Banfield to see this specific doctor, but I schedule my appointments in advance to ensure I see this specific doctor as it seems she is never in and has limited availability. It is frustrating that the front desk staff is always useless and uncaring even though they ask how was your visit. Needless to say I am in the process now of ending my membership with this and all Banfield Pet Hospitals. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of service, treatment/diagnosis, and veterinarians at this hospital. read more

I will not bring my animals here unless it's an emergency. They're overpriced and the service stinks. Most vet clinics will do routine checks and nail trims in the office so the owner can watch and help calm their family member. Banfield takes your pet to the back (there is no window, so you can't watch) to do routine procedures. NO NO NO! They charged an "annual exam fee" in addition to a "followup fee" when removing a bandage from my dog's paw...that THEY placed there 10 days prior! Ridiculous corporate-type clinic. I also paid close to $400 for an XRay and the Vet their showed me the vet book and told me she wasn't sure.... I made an appt with this outfit had to wait a week for them to see my little dog for an injury. I get in there today and they tell me there is no appt on file. I asked if he could wait to be seen they said no. On there web site it says walk ins welcome. It was 9.15am in the morning and no one was waiting with a pet in the waiting room. I was very upset and left. I then called from home the number i called on the piece of paper at home to verify that I had not made a mistake. It was the same number. I went ballistic. If you do not want to experience the same ordeal I would suggest finding a reputable place. I friend of mine could not even get in to get a rabies shot. I do not believe they even deserve a one. I cant speak for every Banfield but this one is awesome. I have 4 cats and a dog that go there with varying issues. Dr Fischer not only takes excellent care of them, I know she does the best for them even if it means referring us to a specialist. I went to see the specialist and still brought them back to her! I appreciate that if they have a procedure, they are there all day being looked after. I often call to check up on them and the staff gives me detailed information on their well being. When I call the staff they are polite and helpful. They also call the next day to check on them. I am very happy with this location. The only complaint I have had, is that they get busy and it can be hard to get the appointment times I want, but that's what happens when other people find out about a gem and want appointments too. read more

Extreme waste of money. I'm paying money for services that my dog doesn't need nor will be using. I called in to see if we can change plans but your literally in a contract for one full calendar then you can cancel or renew. 47 dollars for 12 months is 564 a year.! They make it seem like they are saving you a ton of money when in fact most vaccines are done up to the first 6 month so your just paying the remaining 6 months to pay the charges for the vaccines that were supposedly discounted but either way your still paying for them. DO NOT use this wellness plan you will regret it. It doesn't help you in any way. Your better off going to free pet vaccine clinics to take care of your shots. read more

I was very happy with the care my dogs received here, which is unusual in my experience with Banfield clinics. After a bad experience at another Banfield clinic I was referred by a friend to the Northglenn location as I had already purchased the health plan. I explained to the front desk my concerns and reservations about the poor care my dogs had received at the Boulder location. They took the time to address each of my concerns and to answer each of my questions. As my pet had almost passed away during a routine procedure (not due to obvious risks but rather a result of medical incompetence) at the Boulder Banfield, it was obvious that I was nervous when I dropped my dog off. Throughout that morning I spoke with the veterinarian, the vet technician who helped during the procedure, and the front desk as each of them called me every hour or so to let me know how she was doing and to give me updates. She came home a happy and healthier animal and received excellent medical care. After this wonderful experience I scheduled an appointment to bring my other dog in for vaccinations, anal glands, and a nail trim. This dog was severely abused before we rescued her. Because of this she has a high level of anxiety and panics when having simple things done to her at the vet. This clinic let me schedule an appointment for her where I could be present (which is not generally allowed if using the health plan as the initial paper work states that drop offs are necessary). Further, they were calm and gentle with my dog, despite her howling and thrashing her body around during a routine nail trim. My experience at the Northglenn Banfield hospital has been a positive one in every respect. read more
