The selection wasn't too big but that's also because they have both a Thai and Indian menu, so I guess it all adds up to a big menu. The only noodle thai dish I saw on the menu was Pad Thai, but then luckily the server told us they also had pad see ew and drunken noodles. I got the chicken pad see ew and it was good overall, but the chinese broccoli inside tasted a little off to me but I couldn't put my finger on it. I also got the Thai Iced Tea, which was pretty good but maybe too sweet. I still liked it. The atmosphere was just fine. Dark, but that's the thing nowadays. Eat in the dark, lol. Excellent Chicken Tikka, cooked to perfection. The Pad Thai is also excellent. Most people think of rice and beans when they come to Puerto Rico but you must remember we have EVERY international cuisine you can imagine. This is just one example. You can eat at excellent international restaurants which are NOT in tourist areas.... This is definitely a LOCALS place...it's off the beaten path but worth the trip from anywhere. It's a very cozy environment and the food is delicious. If you're looking to eat something affordable but still delicious as an appetizer, I recommend the Naan bread. The thing that gives it a finishing touch is the homemade sauce they give with the bread slices. I have been traveling to San Juan since March, and sometimes I have to stay over 4 weeks. I was getting tired of same type of food. I looked for a Thai place and luckily I found Bangkok &Bambay. I did not check the India Menu, but the Thai is good. I ordered the seafood combination green curry. It was unbelievable! The waitress told me that every Thursdays, fresh noodles come from New York, and she can make any Thai noodles dishes for me. The noodles only last until Saturday usually. Food was ok! The service was terrible. Table for two, water was served and then the waiter left and came back twenty minutes later to ask what we wanted to drink and eat. Serving the dishes took about 30 minutes. The waitress didn't come back to ask if we needed anything else or desert. The wait for the check was longer. I asked for a box and the check and it never came. My husband had to stand up and chase the waitress and ask her for the check. When we entered the place, the waitress (Paola?) took a while to seat us, and seemed to have a lockjaw. We had to request for the menu after waiting for some more time. Initially, we thought we were just imagining the fact that she was smiling and friendly with all other tables except ours. She was unhelpful with the menu saying we have to order "dinner items" to get rice on the side. There is no "dinner" section on the menu. The aloo paratha was burnt and there was not a hint of an apology, she did get it replaced though. As more tables filled in, it was kind of obvious that she seemed to have a problem with our table. So, we told the manager that we don't want to pay the 18% mandatory gratuity as we weren't happy with her service, and we only wanted to pay 10%. When the manager called her, she says "I told you, these people are always difficult". So, you want to serve Indian food, but not to Indians? Though the manager was apologetic to us, he was also pacifying her saying he understands. I don't know what problem she has had with "these people" before but as a waitress it's important to not stereotype and generalize everyone. Searching "rude" in the review section shows a pattern. The Indian food was over-priced and average at best. The ambience of the place is good, and maybe the Thai menu is good, which explains some of the good reviews. But hey! Everything was going perfect until it was time to leave. The food and the location was good, prices are a little high but nothing to worrisome. My phone mysteriously disappeared from my seat when I stood up to say hello to some friends. I looked everywhere inside the restaurant and outside. I drove back home as fast as possible to enter in my computer and locate my phone. It appeared to be in the restaurant, I drove back as quickly as possible with my sister in laws phone. Started to look inside the restaurant with help from the staff and the phone was nowhere to be found. Went outside to look around the street, called my girlfriend to check the location and it still was in the restaurant. Told her to press the sound button and when I started to walk back in one of the employees walks out with my phone in hand. Curious thing the phone was intact but without its $50 dollar hard cover. No one offered me a discount or anything for such a bad time. I would recommend the place for the food, but be careful with your phones. Avoid this restaurant at all costs! It's really deserving of the one star and that has to do with some of the decor and ambience of the restaurant. But the service and particular the waiter, Miquel, and the manager who was on duty last night March 25th, was just horrible! I was very excited to come back to this restaurant after having not been there in about three years time, and for the first time in their new location. I bought a friend who lives in the area who recently returned from a trip to India to enjoy a good Asian meal. The spinach onion Pakora was the best item we tasted all the evening. The spices were delicious and they were lightly battered and very tasty. We ordered very clearly a vegetable pad Thai with extra vegetables and I asked that I get some shrimp on the side. We also ordered chickpea and in a sauce and puri bread and raita. The waiter got the order totally wrong. Instead he bought us a seafood pad Thai that have muscles and muscles, octopus and other stuff in it -none of which I would ever order in my life as I do not eat those types of seafood. I spoke English to a staffer who did not know English. But the main waiter was bilingual I assumed. But my friend who lives in the area, a local resident of San Juan clearly gave the message in Spanish. When we wanted to return the meal we received such a poor attitude from the waiter who was I guess incensed that I would accuse him of putting in the wrong order. My friend out of regard for wanting to be no problem to the restaurant convinced me we should keep the plate as it is. If I were at home, I would've sent the dish back and demanded that I get what I ordered. That aside the noodles were overcooked, the spices would dilute it and weak, the so-called extra vegetables were tantamount to a few extra baby carrots and one or two florettes of Collie flower probably frozen not fresh, and the entire dish was so wet which made it unpleasant to say the least. The puri bread was drenched in oil and an unedible. It was thick like Naan not airy and puffy like Puri. The chickpea dish arrived on a plate as three large croquettes drenched in and in thick orange sauce garnished with avocado slices. It was not what we expected. I had never seen anything like this before. I ceased eating the dish after the first bite. The raita was as expected with fresh cucumber yogurt topped with cilantro and it was good. We packed up the goods. I discussed the matter again with the waiter and told him that if my friend had not convinced me I would've returned the meal and perhaps even left the restaurant. He said in the future he'll make sure he's not my waiter because he makes mistakes. That was his sarcasm and the manager just looked on us and did not say a word. This was a horrible dining experience- a rarity for me while in Puerto Rico. As we were leaving the restaurant we decided to relieve ourselves of the leftovers. The restaurant didn't meet my standards for food in terms of preparation and taste but the worst part of the experience was the service and treatment at the hands of the waiter and the lack of intervention of the manager that was on site. I think during the time we were there some total of eight people were in the restaurant on a Friday night so you would think they would be grateful to have patrons who drove from Carolina to enjoy an Asian meal and who was prepared to spend whatever money we needed to to do so. But their poorly prepared food and maltreatment suggested otherwise. And I will never seek out this restaurant again. read more

Trust me, you're going to want to skip this place. As a vegetarian Indian, I read reviews for this place and thought it would be a great option as my parents were craving Indian food for dinner and its menu seemed relatively inexpensive. Boy, was I wrong. We ordered a few rotis/naans, malai kofta, and chana masala. I still remember my mom commenting on how the malai kofta was literally $5/ball (3 balls = $15). I assumed it was going to be blasting with flavor, but it was disappointing. The chana masala was also pretty bland and had a weird color to it. The service was pretty awful as well. Trying to grab ahold of our waitress was literally like finding Waldo. In the meantime, we tried to get some raita. Now, getting complimentary raita at Indian restaurants is pretty much hit or miss. While I strongly believe it should be included with every meal (it's a condiment that literally takes less than 5 minutes to make!), this place didn't even have it available! When we requested it from another waiter (who had to assist us in the interim), he didn't even know what it was and suggested we get a vegetable salad instead! Who are you fooling?! We quickly realized that our waitress was more invested in helping out the two native couples that were sitting at our neighboring table. Hate to make any judgments, but they were ordering pretty much the whole menu with drinks, so it was quick to realize why they were getting more importance. It also literally took us 25 minutes for us to get our credit card/receipt back. I'm not even joking. Of course, our waitress went MIA and the waiter was busy at the bar/attending other patrons. When I finally went up to him to get the bill, he said something rather sarcastic. Overall, this place had high expectations but unfortunately could not deliver on them. I was pretty happy with my meal. I came during a weekday right at noon and I was the only person the entire time which made me sad because the food was really good. I had the green curry with vegetables and tofu along with white rice and tea. The portion was a great size that allowed me some leftovers and the service was friendly. The only reason I give 4 stars is the price was pretty pricey. I think my curry and tea came out to $23. There are only like two Thai restaurants that I can find in the entire area so I get it. If you are a fan of Thai food, Indian food or spicy food this is the place for you. I recently heard of this place through my cousin who came back from India and was craving some indian food and stumbled into Bangkok & Bombay to satiate his cravings. I, myself, am a big fan of this kind of food and am a veteran when it comes to going to Thai restaurants I have to say, the quality of the food did not disappoint. During my first visit I had the flaming tamarind duck which just blew my socks off. They bring it to you during full flame so it adds a nice theatrical touch. Well cooked, juicy, tangy and with delicious, and unlimited, jasmine rice. The second time I had the Gang Keow Wan with chicken. I told them to make it with 2 out of 3 stars of spiciness. If that was 2... I don't want to know what 3 is! I have a pretty high tolerance and I definitely found it hot. Just hot enough. I wouldn't recommend it at two unless you have some experience. I tasted a friends plate at 1 out of 3 and it was a great balance. 3 out of 3 is still a mystery to me, but maybe not forever. Service was great and prompt. She continued to be very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. I was able to meet the cook and found out that she is actually from Thailand so you know that what you are getting is authentic! Thai accent and everything. Overall a good experience, service-wise. The biggest downfall of this place is location and ambiance. It's located in a dicey-looking part of town in Santurce and parking is a problem because other people park cars in the restaurants parking area and block you in. The interior of the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. The place just feels old. Needs some brightening up. While I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic date since the ambiance just isn't there, I would recommend to go with a couple of friends and/or family. Easily the best Thai or Indian cuisine in Puerto Rico. A plate of food will run you between $15 and $25 dollars, but worth it for the quality. My appraisal of the various dishes I've tried so far: Entrees Chicken Tikka Masala: Exquisite. Creamy and savory. Not too sweet. Red Curry: Wonderful. Powerful. Just enough spiciness to make you reach for a glass of water. Masaman Curry: I like my Masaman on the sweet side, and this was just right. A+. Ped Choo Chee: House specialty. Excellent, the duck is not greasy and not too spicy. Malai Kofta: To be honest, only the second best Malai Kofta I've ever had. Chana Masala: Good. Not spicy enough. Pad See Ew: Easily the best I've ever had. Appetizers Samosas: Yummy and comforting. Good chutneys. Pakoras: I could have done with more seasoning, but still good. Honestly, meh. Tom Kha Gai: Sublimely delicious. Creamy, yet still light. Mulligatawny: Also delicious and creamy. No apples, though. Summer Rolls: The zucchini didn't do it for me. Dessert: Gulab Jamun: The gulab jamun are smaller than I'm used to, but still delicious. Sticky Rice: Yummy. The mango slices really brings the whole thing together. read more

Incredible food and service, would recommend this restaurant to everyone! We were on vacation in San Juan and looking for good vegetarian restaurants in the area. Can honestly say this was some of the best Thai and Indian food we have had, even when compared to the states. We asked for the dishes to be made spicy, and the spices were well-blended and made for flavorful dishes without having too much heat. The service was also exceptional, dishes came quickly and everyone is kind (waitress was great to talk to and friendly, and the chef even came out to check with us to make sure the food spice level was good). I love you can get both Thai or Indian here. One of the only spot for good vegetarian food although there are plenty of meat options. It's nice sipping my Thai tea with my curry haha! However, the chai tea is a tea bag and isn't the homemade chai I am used to in Indian restaurants. Also, it's important to know that this place seems to be in a kinda dangerous area because you have to get buzzed in and out to enter which was very strange to me as I have never had to get buzzed into a restaurant before. Being from South East Asia, I definitely craved the flavor from the region. We didn't make reservation and very lucky there were table available. Reservation is recommended. I only give reviews to the restaurants I really like, this one is definitely on that list. The ambience is low lit and relaxing. The food is well prepared and well presented. Every plate looked carefully planned and perfectly executed. The service was excellent, very fast and attentive. All the servers and management did not stop to chat with each other once at leisure from what I could see. it seemed the staff's attention and focus was only on the diners needs and delivering the cuisine immediately as it comes ready. Fantastic restaurant. A true gem of the Caribbean. This place is pretty authentic, which I wasn't exactly sure if it would be - being in PR. I love the tom kha gai and tom yum soups as well as their thai curries.
