This is like the second time I am coming to this nice, cozy place for Thai food. I like the interiors, contemporary Thai style and a lot of beautiful lights all over. It is a small place and may not be suitable for parties more than 5 or 6 people. The service was good, but there was only one person taking care of the whole restaurant and I felt things were a bit rushed. We were there for dinner and we were hungry, so we quickly ordered some Chicken Tom yum soup to share among us. The soup was OK, not great not bad, a little too tangy(but i liked it that way) but not much spice to balance the tangy flavor. It had good proportion of veggies but not much chicken, which was a bummer. 3/5 Now for the entrees, Pineapple stir-fry: Just Wow, are the 2 words I would use to describe the dish. The balance in the dish was commendable and flavors were amazing. It has this not too sweet, not too hot, silky, flavorful sauce at the bottom, which was the star of the dish. It had an after taste of a good tomato soup and a punch of pineapple flavor in it. The chicken was well cooked and very thinly cut, good proportion of veggies and chicken. I would highly recommend trying this. 5/5 Fragrant Ginger Tofu stir-fry: I just tasted the tofu and I liked the flavor in the tofu, which I expected to be bland. It was well fried and had the taste of the sauce in the dish. But, ironically the flavor of ginger was not much in the dish, but I would recommend this for vegans. 3.5/5 Cashew chicken stir-fry: My friend orders this almost in every Thai restaurant and I get to taste this almost every time. This time it was a little overwhelmingly soy sauce flavored, the liquid at the bottom was salty and very sharp. I have tasted this at many places and this is not the best. 2/5 I ordered a Garlic pepper stir-fry with chicken, the dish as such did not incorporate garlic flavor but had good amount of fried garlic on top, which gave a pretty good texture and flavor in each bite. The sauce at the bottom was mild and the chicken looked a little more shredded than usual, which I was fine with. I asked for a fried egg on top, which was amazingly fried to perfection, gooy inside and crispy outside. As soon as you cut into the egg, the yolk just flows on to the dish and makes it much more richer. 3.5/5 The only problem with the orders was the spice level, some of us asked for 4/5 on spice level and all of them were very mild in terms of spice. So if you are not a fan of spicy food, you can confidently order a 3 at least. Over all, a decent place to have good with friends. 3.5/5 read more

It's a small restaurant with limited seating. We went in around 8.30pm Friday night and were seated in 5 minutes. It's a nice cozy place with boho-chic feel to it. We ordered : Thai Iced tea - was a little bitter, didn't like it much. I have never not liked thai iced tea before this, it is difficult to go wrong with i think. Green Avocado curry - Excellent is the word. It was my first time trying avocado in green curry, and I must say it tasted Oh So Good !! It has this smooth rich and creamy texture to it. You MUST try this. Pad see ew - Average. I have to come again to try other things on the menu, however the service here was really poor. There was just one person attending all the tables and he seemed to be in a rush all along - from seating us -to taking the order- to serving. He took our order in less than 5 seconds and hastily slided our food on the table. And then he got our order wrong in the first time. Bangkok is a nice hole in the wall type restaurant with fine food and a cozy atmosphere. While it's definitely not the best Thai food I've ever had, I still enjoyed my meal. I do wish the pad Thai came with more toppings, seems to be just noodles and spices. I so wish you could give half stars as I think this place is 3.5 stars not just 3. I met a friend here for lunch. It is a little small restaurant in a small strip mall. The door itself is not marked but is on the big sign for the strip mall. I ordered the Thai Fried Rice and crab wontons. I loved the thin wonton wrapper but didn't love the filling. Not very good. Oily, needed salt and there was corn inside. The fried rice was very good but for Medium spice it was definitely mild. I think the thing that bothered me the most was they took forever to get us our bill, we had to flag them down for the bill and boxes and then they seemed annoyed that we were just sitting there talking. Felt like they wanted us to leave. The food isn't bad. I would go back for sure. Could be friendlier. read more

This place was recommended by a friend and we went for dinner on a Wednesday. It's a small place with 6-7 tables and parking was easy to find. We ordered the chicken avocado curry and yellow curry noodle. The avocado curry was awesome and it's vegetarian option is good too. I find it unique for a Thai place. The yellow curry noodle was too liquidy and I could taste the coarse turmeric. I would recommend the same. I look forward to trying the green curry noodle and the Rama noodle curry. The place is moderately priced for the area, we paid $38 with tips and taxes for 3 entrees. read more

I'm so glad we've been going here since we moved from Texas. We've ordered the crab wontons, Tom Kha Soup with Seafood and Shrimp, Garlic Chicken, Fried Shrimp appetizer, Beef Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Avocado curry, and Swimming Angel. They're consistent in quality and taste (though if you have soup in your order I would recommend asking to make sure they will bring it out first if the broth is important to you). Everything is spot on for flavor, texture, and crispness. Wait staff is polite and fast and the complimentary salad and pad Thai are great starters to your meal. We just went to Bai Tong Thai because there's always a wait and it seems well rated. I just wanted to tell everyone to stop eating and go to Bangkok Basil. It doesn't hold a candle to Bangkok Basil. The quality and flavor is far better than what they're serving there. I would normally rate 4 stars but there seems to be an extra star variance in this area and if Bai Tong Thai is well rated, this has to be WAY better. I had their crab wontons, seafood pad see ew, and crispy garlic chicken and all was not anything special and I wasn't happy to eat it. At least now we are even more grateful for Bangkok and they don't ever have a wait (which I don't understand why, it's excellent) and we know we have a great place close to home. read more

Great service! Came here during super bowl hour, there weren't many people. Food was really good, we didn't wait very long for the food. The server was very friendly and attentive. We ordered four dishes and really filling for party of 4. Tom Yum soup was really good. A good measure of any good Thai restaurant in TYS it was a good balance between sweet and spicy and sour it was very good. The curry fried rice was also pretty good however the beef is kind of dry, maybe because it's been sitting in the kitchen counter for a while. Overall I'm still giving them a 5 star, because I liked the service and the food was decent. read more

We were staying near Lake Sammamish and came here for dinner. The restaurant is small and limited in seating but good for small groups (1-4 people). Parking wasn't an issue. The interior is cute and decorated with colorful signs and ivy plants. Service was okay; I think maybe the couple that came by were maybe the owners? The food was decent, but not particularly memorable, and the portion sizes are alright for the price. I love that this is a locally owned place. Solid option for the area. read more

Let me start with the pros: Food was good, restaurant decor and atmosphere are inviting and parking is available and close to the restaurant. Cons: The first and only time I've had a restaurant representative come after me outside to inform me that I forgot to tip. Let me explain: I had to ask for utensils, waters, napkins, find the server to order after 10 minutes of seating down, and never once did the server check on us during our 30 minutes of service; as we watched everyone else get continued service. We love Bangkok Basil! This is our go-to thai takeout. They do have a nice dine-in area as well that is decorated with lights and good ambiance but very small. We live so close we just take out. Everything is always fresh and hot. We love the curry, thai basil green beans, pad thai and chicken satay. It is pretty affordable as well as fast and friendly. A three star restaurant that can't get orders right. Five out of six takeout orders have been missing entrees, missing rice, missing chicken from my chicken dish, etc. So frustrating. They're nice people, and always offer to fix it, but who wants to drive back to get your dinner after starting dinner? Unfortunately, I'm tapping out. This is the best Thai food we've had in the east side so far. You have to ask for Thai spicy to get things spicy but besides that, everything is super flavorful, fresh, and delicious. The pad kee mao and papaya salad are personal favorites but everything we've tried has been great! Pad Thai has always been a "safe" staple for friends that haven't had much Thai food or that don't like spicy foods; we rarely order it but shared some with someone else and it was the best pad Thai I've ever had too. read more

Bangkok Basil was our go-to for local Thai food. Ironically, I said to someone that they had never made a mistake on an order. Then suddenly, they did. And it was forgivable (shrimp in vegan fresh spring rolls, sad). The next visit, we got our entree without rice. As this was a to-go order, it was really a bummer to get home and learn you're missing the filler of the meal. But, I wanted to give them another shot. The third visit, I placed my first to-go order and confirmed twice over the phone and once in person that the items were vegan (clarifying what that meant). I chose not to tip because of the prior visit, and felt especially guilty after the nasty glare I was given. But, when getting home and opening up the items, it was apparent that they had put eggs in the pad see ew. So, the guilt had worn off pretty quickly. The first year frequenting Bangkok Basil was a good run, but three recent consecutive trips with errors tells me I'd be a fool if I continued to order from them. So bummed out about this! read more

I went there twice. Loved the first visit. Thought it was very flavorful and tasty. It was just really good. However, the second visit wasn't the same. Food tasted not as flavorful but great service. We ordered brown rice and loved that they have purple brown rice that is delish. 1. veggies and tofu: so fresh, cooked to perfection, not salty, not soggy, and tasted like clean eating 2. Angel noodle: on the sour side so it's not like your typical soup.. i don't recommend it 3. Khao soi: pretty good flavored soup, I've had better since the noddle seems like a ramen package noddle. But it has the ingredients of other places I've visited. Wish they gave more than just 1 chicken drumstick. For something over $10 and package ramen noddle with no veggies (except for the pickled radish garnish ), I expected more than 1 drumstick 4. Brown rice fried rice: it was lacking the typical fried rice flavor but appreciated them using brown rice for us. Again also lacked veggies like corn, carrots, peas, etc. 5. Chicken green curry. Good flavor, not too salty 6. Beef veggies: one of our favorite dishes. All the vegetables were cooked perfectly and so was the beef. Would recommend this and would order it again. Flavor, meat/tofu, and veggies were excellent. Great for those who don't like greasy stir fried veggies. Came out close to $90. It isn't a 5 cuz the khao soi could be a bit more generous with the meat content. read more

I really enjoyed our takeout meal on a Saturday night since I didn't want to cook. I spent about $64 but it was worth it. My partner craved the Crab Wontons--so delicious as an appetizer--and I stole a few of them from his plate! I ordered the Thai Eggrolls--miniature delights of crispy deep-fried vegetarian morsels. For entrees, we had the Crispy Garlic Chicken, a real hit, and the Yellow Curry with chicken (also quite good). Entrees come with Jasmine rice but we splurged on the Thai Basil Fried Rice with chicken. This is a really good dish that could actually be a main course. We have leftovers for tomorrow so I am a happy man! Note: I specified medium spice for everything and it was fine (not too hot). I love this place and will go back. read more

A little hidden gem! This little spot is so fun. I love when a place surprises me. And this place definitely did! Been here several times already and they were all for lunch. Their lunch specials are great. All under $8 and comes out pretty fast. You get soup and salad with your lunch which is pretty good. That peanut sauce though! You can put peanut sauce on anything and it will taste great!! Few notable dishes: Pad Thai ~ delish! Crab fried rice ~ not lunch special but it's still pretty delicious. Ginger chicken/ Basil chicken ~ Yumm! Papaya salad ~ meh! I've had way better. Khao soi: it's good but hard to eat. Overall, I do enjoy coming here. I like majority of their food. I don't need to fuss over or flag down the waiter for anything. It is a small place. They can't ignore you even if they try! Speed is great when you don't have time to linger around for lunch!
