Today was a day for all the standard Thai comfort foods. Tom Yum soup was some of the best I've ever had. Spring rolls were yummy, and the Pad Thai perfectly hit the spot. You can see the soup was so good, I finished it before I remembered to snap a photo! As I was the only person in the restaurant at the time, service was always available - and why this place wasn't packed is beyond me! They're currently remodeling the space, but still open, so maybe that scared away some people? Let's just say they missed out. Definitely recommend, definitely will come back. read more

I walked in behind another woman who was picking up a DoorDash order and stood behind her because I was also there to pick up an order. While I was waiting in line to let the staff know I was picking up a DoorDash, they told me, "Go sit. We just told you it'll be done in a little while." I explained, "That was the other woman. I also have a DoorDash pickup for a different customer. The order is for ____." They rolled their eyes and pulled the curtain shut with obvious annoyance, as if it were somehow my fault that I had another pickup order. I've gotten food from here before. It was okay, nothing worth raving about, but the staff has been consistently rude every time I come in to pick up an order. They stare at you like you're a problem or like you're somehow invading their space. Honestly, I don't understand the attitude. Do you not want customers, or business? I really don't understand the logic behind treating people who are literally there to pay for (overpriced) food with such obvious annoyance. Basic courtesy goes a long way. In addition, the woman who walked in before me waited 15 minutes, AFTER I left, to pick up the order she was there for, and we had been sitting inside for at least 15 minutes to pick up the ord. This was our first visit to Bangkok Garden. The food was delicious! My husband had the peanut pad Thai and said it was the best he's ever had, and he's tried it at many Thai restaurants. I've never had crab rangoons that were so stuffed with filling, VERY good! The owner was one of our servers, really friendly and could of course give info and answer any questions about the menu. Our 10 yo son has very bad food poisoning and it's because of this place. This is a review that deserves a ZERO star. Our 10 year old is puking and having massive diarrhea now for 12+ hours after eating from this dump. We had fried dumplings, low mein (which we are pretty sure caused this) and fried rice and chicken tempura. I'll be contacting this place once it opens and contacting the state health office. Customer Service is bad. Tiffany, the owner says that I can write a negative review of my negative experience, she doesn't care, so here I am, writing this review. I ordered through DoorDash. 6 items. 4 entrees, 1 soup and 1 dessert, the sticky rice ($12.95) I've attached a picture here. Part of mango was black and was hidden. They didn't include one of the entrees. When I called them, Tiffany was laughing and said that she had it here and asked "are you coming back to get it". No, Tiffany, I will not drive back after coming home and noticing missing food. She then suggested that I can contact DoorDash to address the issue with them. She was saying this as she spoke her language. After that, she hung up. Tiffany, the owner was rude. The quality of the food was not there. The price was expensive. People shouldn't go here so that they will go out of business as they don't care to address customer's concerns. There are other Thai restaurants that are soooo much better. My mother and I drove from Oxford, ME just to experience some awesome new Thai food as a late Mother's Day outing and we were not disappointed. We shared the Thai BBQ wings advertised as a special appetizer. The Thai BBQ wings were spicy, sweet, and crispy. They were also the biggest wings that we have ever seen! For entrees, we got the Choo Chee Duck and the Mee Ka Tee. The Mee Ka Tee was perfectly seasoned and rich. I added shrimp, thinking that I would get 2-3 in the whole dish, but they gave me so much more shrimp than I expected (which I loved). The Choo Chee Duck was crispy as well and loaded with fresh vegetables in a flavorful sauce. The large portions for the appetizer and entrees were a great value for the price. In addition to the amazing food, the dine-in service was wonderful. Our server was attentive, fun, and eager to answer all questions. Our server also went out of her way to gift my mother and I two FREE to-go Thai iced teas after our meal. The Thai iced teas there are the best I've ever had from any Thai restaurant. That being said, they truly care about all of their customers and the quality of their service. I will definitely be visiting again! read more

We went on a day when our standby places were closed for vacation. The food was edible but quite bland. The lunch specials were meager. I ordered "garlic with vegetables and pork". I didn't taste any garlic. The vegetables consisted of 1 quartered mushroom, seven green beans, and 12 small carrot slices, amounting to maybe a half of a carrot. There was a tablespoon of pork. And probably 1/2 a cup of rice. And a very small spring roll. The service was adequate. The ambiance was nothing special. Since it was raining, we were glad to be in a dry spot. Bottom line: avoid this place unless you have no other options. read more

This used to be one of the best Thai places in Maine! The food was authentic, had the full range of flavors, and didn't use sugar in everything. They had the best oyster sauce around! But, that has passed. I think that the restaurant was sold snd is now not good. I've never been served fluorescent yellow/green Tom Kha. The dumplings were VERY doughy, small, and hard. The Pad Thai had some sort of round rice noodle that seemed like spaghetti. The rice had a faint taste of road tar. While this is sometimes even appreciated in wine, it never is ok in white jasmine rice. I'm left confused and sad that a favorite closed and is gone for good. Finally, the price was surprising. I have ordered the pad prik king from Bangkok in the past, but it has been a year since I ordered. I ordered tonight and have to say the quantity of food for the money has certainly decreased. I also asked for extra prik king sauce and hardly got any sauce. The green beans used to be whole beans, now they are cut into thirds. I will continue to order from My Thai Table in Bath as they deliver and the quality and quantity for the money is superior. read more

How these people are in business is beyond me. I called to place an order, at which time they told me they are only accepting cash, but I can order online. I had already been to their website, which had no online ordering tool. But hey, why not have TWO websites? One for ordering and the other for whatever not ordering is. So I finally find the right site, fill out my order, put in my credit card information and it tells me my card got declined. Ok, maybe I typo'd a number, so I went to fix it, at which time my credit card notification tells me i've been charged $35. Maybe it went through? The page in front of me says otherwise. There is no proof or ordering, still saying that my card got declined. So I call and they tell me they can't help me. They won't honor my payment. A legitimate business would have been able to see I was charged and they should honor it. It would have been my first time eating their food but now I know there won't be a first time. read more

Not great at all, very disappointed. We got katong tong and the shells were very stale and the filing had very little flavor. The chicken pad Thai did not taste good at all. The panang curry was ok, the peppers were cut too thick and the sauce was really thick but the taste was pretty good. The decor was dated but more importantly the fake flowers were very dusty. After eating here several more times I feel the need to write a follow-up. It seems that the quality is still just as good as before...if you eat there on the right day. There appear to be two chefs working here -- one who knows how to make everything and one who does not. Most of the time the food is excellent, but once in a while, when the head chef is not there (usually holidays or holiday weekends) it is bland and flavorless. Four stars for the good food and two stars for the bad food averages out to three. read more

This restaurant is a joke. I just online-ordered takeout lunch. Got home, they forgot one item I ordered. Called and was given credit. Then realized after that they they also did not include any rice with their specialty dish Sesame Chicken. Called back again and was told that was my fault, that because I did not choose white or brown rice (there was no option for that) they chose not to include any. They blamed me? What? Name one place, just one, that does not include rice with this dish. They were unapologetic about it. Really disappointed. The lunch portions are so small, not what I was expecting. Great Thai restaurant in an unexpected place, an old converted mill next to an antique mall. I have seen this place many a time when I was antiquing next door, but never ate there. I should have eaten here a long time ago, it is an excellent Thai restaurant. Tofu pad thai was excellent, sweet and not too spicy and it came with two spring rolls for under $7. Amazing prices. The fried tofu appetizer was equally good and came an interesting creamy peanut sauce with a little kick to it. I have never had anything like it before, kinda like spicy peanut butter. We were excited to try a new to us Brunswick restaurant and unfortunately we will not be ordering from Bangkok Garden again. We placed an online order at 5:30 for pick up at 6pm. We received an email at 5:39 confirming that Bangkok Garden received our order. My husband arrived a bit after 6pm to pick up our order and they took our order slip back to the kitchen and told him it would be a few minutes. Over 50 minutes later he received his order with a "Sorry for the wait". When we unbagged the food we found that we didn't receive one of our items and were given steamed veggies instead of the salad we had ordered. The food was fresh but lacked flavor, with the exception of the Chee Chu Duck. Maybe we chose the wrong night to order but our food definitely should not have take 90 minutes to make and at the very least, after waiting almost an hour beyond our pick up time, our order should have been correct. read more

Tried this place for lunch for the first time last week. Was very disappointed with the food. I thought it was odd that this restaurant doesn't have a list of spice levels you can choose from, as every other Thai restaurant I frequent does. We ordered pan fried dumplings as an app, but they were deep fried, not pan fried, and were hard and with little filling. For our lunch, I ordered the spicy duck, which was listed as one of the chef's specialties, and my wife ordered a spicy chicken and peanuts dish from the lunch menu. Both were bland and had zero heat, despite being advertised as spicy dishes. The next day we went to lunch at Veranda Thai in Portland to remind ourselves what we like so much about great Thai food. I will say the one server, who was handling every table and booth in Bangkok Garden, did a pretty good job. But bland, spiceless Thai food is never going to bring me back to this restaurant. read more

I ordered chicken spicy thai fried rice over the telephone for pickup. The woman said 13.99 with tax is the charge. The to go menu described 10.95 plus tax. The next day I went in to explain there must be a mistake, the owner described to me that 13.99 was the price I excepted, it is the price I shall recieve. It's not 2.25 over charge that bothers me, it's being over charged and not resolving the issue. I still have the recipt. read more

After being told on the phone our food would be ready in 30 minutes, I arrived & waited in line for another 30 minutes only to be told that I would have to wait another 30 minutes. When my food was finally ready and I opened the bag, I discovered that the spring rolls I ordered were missing. In addition, the person collecting money wasn't wearing a mask and one of the customers waiting in line wasn't wearing a mask. Being a bit more adventurous, I have tried many different menu items some very good, but all satisfying. Service: In a word variable. Some evenings great, other times slow because of under-staffing and/or a very busy take-out service. The wait staff seat guests, bus tables and perform cashier tasks at this smaller restaurant. Atmosphere: This is converted warehouse space with interest architectural features. On cold evenings ask to be seated as far away from the door as possible. It is an old, sometimes drafty building. Of the four Thai choices in Brunswick-Topsham area, this is the one I visit again and again. Overall, a consistently positive dining experience. They care and it shows. read more

The massaman curry was the wrong color and the wrong flavor and the duck meat had a strange texture and color.
