I was surprised to find such amazing Thai food up in a small town in Maine. We had such a lovely early dinner here with the family. The service was excellent. The ambiance is cozy and the place is kept clean. Overall food was good but the appetizers specially were delicious! Thai chive cakes are not seen often on the menu and so glad they had it here, it was sooooo good! Curry puff and scallion pancakes were good too. The fried rice and noodles were delicious as well. I went here on the way back from a camp and it was amazing. I got takeout, but from what I saw, the inside was beautiful. The staff were very friendly and extremely grateful when we paid in cash. I got the p Paradise Pad Thai, and it was probably one of the best Pad Thai's I've ever had. The Chive Thai cakes were unlike everything I've ever had, but they were amazing and had great texture. The honeydew boba was also very unique, but extremely delicious. My dad got the Pad See You and loved it. Would definitely recommend. read more

Best Thai food in the Midcoast area. I love that I can easily order online, and my family gets takeout here at least once a month. Some of our favorite dishes are Pad Thai, Drunken Noodle, Spicy Basil Fried Rice, Crab Rangoon, and Tempura. Get a Thai Iced Tea to go with it and you'll be in heaven. We also *love* that they have a kids' menu with several options for little ones, which makes it so much easier when ordering for the family. On weekdays at lunch they have a less expensive meal option where you can get an entree with a couple of egg rolls and a beverage. The service is always prompt and pleasant whether we order takeout or eat in. I would also note that it's quite kid-friendly for dining in-- they brought my daughter kid-size utensils and a special plate. The only thing I don't like is that the Pad Thai doesn't come with any vegetables in it. You have to choose whether you want veggie, tofu, or meat. So every time I order chicken pad Thai, I have to pay an extra $4 to have veggies added. I think a lot of other restaurants just include veggies in the noodles no matter what protein you order. Another suggestion I have is to add a Spicy Basil Pad Thai dish to the menu, that would be good! read more

Food was very good, nice place to eat. One concern is the pepper steak dish has no heat peppers listed on the menu but I could barely eat it because it was so hot ( spice ). Love this place. Everything I've had has been delicious and fresh-flavored. Though since they added Khao Soi I have a hard time getting anything else. Besides Panang and country style Pad Thai, this is my favorite dish and I rarely see it on menus! We predominantly order takeout, but did eat in once. Not a fancy ambiance or anything but bright & pleasant. Server was fantastic. Incredible food, but really high prices. One pint of wonton soup was almost $8, I thought it would be a big bowl but I was wrong. I would call it a ripoff if the food wasn't so delicious! Pad Thai was flavorful and fresh, chicken satay was perfectly spicy and well cooked, and the summer rolls were refreshing and delicious! Even the insanely priced soup was yummy. So Best Thai II is a go to for our whole family for both take out and eating in. The special lunch menu is a bargain. The decor is simple and welcoming. The staff is helpful and professional. Their on-line ordering system works really well and makes it easy to set a time for pick up and to customize the order to omit onions, increase spiciness, or add extra veggies to suit. The crab rangoon is a little different from some we've had, but very tasty. Evil Tofu is a big family favorite-- we usually order one a little spicy and the other as spicy as folks can handle. The youngest love the chicken satay and veggie fried rice. On the gluten-free front, the garden rolls are safe for celiac (but you might want to use your own gluten free soy sauce), and it's definitely safe when one asks for the gluten-sensitive. Although they want to assure true gluten-free, as everywhere, it's a tricky issue and we've had mixed experiences. read more

Not the most intimate of settings inside but food and service makes up for it. Always clean and neat interior, and great smells. My wife loves the pad thai. Best Thai was a perfectly serviceable stop on a snowy evening in Bath on our way to the Chocolate Church for a show. It was a picturesque snowy evening and we were able to get a table right away. We unfortunately sat in a table that got a cold blast every time the door opened, but i'm always hot, so it was ok We ordered our usual fresh spring rolls and pad Thai, and I mixed things up with a chicken sate salad. The spring rolls were a little bit smaller than I expected, but were tasty. The pad Thai was solid, and the salad was basically a green salad with one small piece of chicken on the side of the plate. Ordered about five items, and there was one that was truly good. The ginger chicken was superb. All of the other items were really not good. Ordered 2 items with no shrimp, both came full of shrimp. Luckily no one had an allergy. Also ordered fresh spring rolls which the wrappers were thick and hard. It felt as no care was put into the order.I had really high hopes for great food but it just didn't get there - except the ginger chicken. We ordered the Summer roll and Gai Kra Pow with ground chicken. The vegetables were cooked Al dente. The sauce in this entree was a perfect balance of sweet, salty and spicy. I love their tofu triangles and the crispy Pad Thai is unique and flavorful (note: probably NOT the best choice to get for take out though, since the noodles can get soggy if they sit there for too long). I also recently tried their RED CURRY and man, oh man - it was perfect! I've tried red curry at 3 different places between Brunswick and Bath and I'm giving this place the gold star! Disappointed that it took so long for this place to make it into my dining rotation. Especially since they deliver! What was I thinking. My favorite meal is the Cashew Nut Chicken, with Brown Rice. Let me digress for a moment to talk about how much I love their BROWN RICE. I know...what's the big deal about rice...I don't know. But their's wins me over everytime. In fact, I've not tried a noodle dish because I wouldn't get brown rice. Just yesterday I tried their Yellow Curry. Which is painful to do, as that meant I wasn't getting Cashew Nut, but let me tell you, I was not disappointed in the least. Great flavor and the vegetables were a good mix. There is something to be said about a quaint little thai place that sits just off the main drag serving up DELICIOUS food. That something would be, in todays vernacular, "nailed it". We went on a whim as there are a bevy of eateries in our area we have yet to try. We figured that it might be a little busy on a Saturday night. Arriving at 6:30, there were only 2 other couples in the place. It is in an old brick building, set back off the main drag in Downtown Bath. The decor is simple; appropriate cultural paintings and items. Our waitress greeted us promptly and encouraged us to sit where we would like. The ambiance was casual and quite welcoming. We placed our order for Summer Rolls with Shrimp (starter), Chicken Pad Thai (for her), Drunken Noodle with chicken for me. The appetizer was out in no more than 5 minutes...in all likelihood, it was soon than that. They brought a side of Satay sauce (at my request) which was delicious. (although, who are we kidding, it's basically peanut butter with chili oil and coconut milk...what's not to love) We hadn't even finished the appetizer when the main dishes came out. Service was incredibly fast, the food was hot and seasoning was spot on. The pad thai was slightly sweeter than other versions we have had in the past. I ordered the Drunken Noodle at a "4 chili" rating. They advertise 5 but say they can go hotter. 4 was easily manageable and provided the right balance of heat and flavor. This is a gem of a little restaurant in Bath. Pricing was in line with what you would pay anywhere else. We will be back. read more

Ordered online and couldn't submit the order unless I left a tip. A mandatory tip. The takeout came with no utensils, no napkins, and no extra sauce. This used to be a good place. This is a strange place. First I wanted to go in several times and even though the open flags are flying the place is locked up tight in the middle of the afternoon. I just don't get it. Another thing is I ordered the house fried rice. Simple order right? Wrong. I was asked what kind I wanted. I told them just a regular kind I guess. Then asked what I wanted in it? I told them whatever they usually put in the house fried rice. House fried rice, to me and everyone I talk to, is a bunch of veggies and meats cooked with the rice. Not here though. You have to order Pork or chicken or shrimp or other stuff. That's not what the name means. I do have to compliment them on their crab rangoon.
