I always order green curry whenever I visit a Thai restaurant for the first time. The green curry from Bangkok Square is my new comfort food now. I order a the take out with a friend and we both enjoyed Green curry very much. I did wish there is a little bit more rice though. They say it's medium spicy but it's more of a mild for me. It's just the right amount if you want the flavor but not too much surprise to burn your throat. I looked around in the restaurant when I picked up my food and the decoration is clean and beautiful . Bangkok Square is the perfect place to have a yummy lunch with your friends and family for such an affordable price! My glil and I went here for lunch and received their soup of day, egg roll, an entree, and ice cream for less than $20!!! I forgot the soup that we received but it was soothing to my stomach. The egg roll was crunchy and mixed well with their sauce. My glil got their chicken pad thai which is always a classic at a Thai restaurant. I got the panang curry with steamed rice which was a bit bland. I normally get their green curry but I wanted to change things up this time. I didn't really enjoy the panang curry as much as I did the green curry. In my opinion, the green curry has more of a kick to it which is what I'll probably order next time again. Afterwards, the waitress gave us a small cup of coconut ice cream! It was satisfying after all the savory food we received. The best Thai food in Gville! A must get is their Pad Thai and I really think they nailed the authenticity for this dish. I've brought many out of town friends to Bangkok Square and they LOVE the food. The Thai tea here is excellent as well but does not have free refills. For alot of their options, you can choose the protein such as tofu, chicken, pork, beef, seafood, even crispy duck! I like to indulge in the crispy duck pad Thai during lunch I recommend going for lunch because they have a combo option: soup, egg roll, and entree. The lunch menu is cheaper than dinner. Come early because they get super busy at lunch time! They usually give free homemade coconut ice cream for dessert, sooo creamy and yummy. Besides the pad Thai, I like the Lad Nar noodles. Lad Nar is wide flat noodles in clear gravy sauce. The Pad See Ew (drunken noodles) is another fav of mine. I have been here so many times, but yet to try the fried rice. I'll have to order fried rice next time if I can resist ordering the pad Thai. Service is good but they can get busy both at lunch and dinner times. A family favorite! Great vegetarian options and filling meals. Service is always top notch, though the wait can be long at times. I'm always craving the Drunken Noodles, and they make them perfectly every time. The Tom Kha soup is so cravable! I have gone twice in the past month just to get some of this delicious coconut soup (I get chicken in mine) either there or to go. I also am a fan of the amazing sauce (Thai peanut sauce) sauté. Lunch specials until 3pm are a great deal and recommend trying them for lunch with friends and getting different entrees to taste. Bangkok Square is a new Thai restaurant out on the west side of Archer Road--out toward Haile Plantation. It's tucked neatly into a small shopping center and the interior is a bright yet warm and welcoming array of oranges, golds, and other peaceful yet lively colors in a small though ample space. Everything is brand-new, so in general that's also a plus. The interior is somewhat typical but certainly enjoyable and the owners and staff seem very eager to make a good showing of things. Others have commented here and elsewhere regarding the poor service, but I found the service to be fine. My waiter was possibly a bit lacking on conversation and may have been less than confident in speaking English beyond the basics one would expect from a waiter, but he was certainly able and willing to carry out his duties and did so promptly. There were no delays that I noticed for myself nor the tables around me, and it's something I was keeping an eye out for given the complaints in that regard here on Yelp. The food was good, though far from the best Thai I've ever had and the menu pretty standard to American Thai restaurants. You have your curries with choices of meat, your stir-fry type dishes, your larb gai and other Thai salads. They also offer sushi which to me is normally a bad sign in a Thai place, but people were getting the sushi, liked it, and also were happy with their Thai food, as I was myself. I had the egg rolls and the red curry with chicken. The egg rolls were fine, but not exceptional while the red curry was pretty good and contained ample chicken but could have used more sauce--there just wasn't enough to go with the chicken and vegetables. The serving though was generous and I cannot fault them for having, really, more chicken than curry sauce around it. I also had a Thai ice tea which was fine, just like you'd get most places. This restaurant, in all candor, would not rate four stars in a major city. It is not probably as good (at least based on one dinner) as Royal Orchid in Ocala, even. We ordered the veggie spring rolls , as an appetizer, which were good but they only gave us four which was fine but sort of underwhelming for the price. I ordered the Mussaman curry with shrimp as my protein and the portion size was underwhelming but it was good. The combo fried rice ,which was chicken and steak, was fine, however the meat was on the dry side. Finally, they gave us a free mini cup of vanilla ice cream but it had tiny pieces of coconut that were in it and the texture of it in the ice cream was sort of unpleasant. I would definitely go back for the same dish. However, service sucked. The young guy seemed like he didn't wanna work there. The old lady was not that attentive either. I had to flag them down and yelled to get their attention just to order. When I needed something, I waved at the old lady. Our eyes met but then she just ignored me and went back to the kitchen! I usually order their chicken pad thai, or any of the curries. Since you can select your spice level, I typically go for medium; their hot is extremely good, but too spicy for my enjoyment. The restaurant is always extremely clean, and would definitely be a nice date place! I've never had an issue with the service, but the food does take a little longer to arrive, especially on a busy afternoon. I've legitimately eaten here like 50 times over the past 5 years. I love all their curries and the service is amazing. I appreciate that their curries still have so much flavor when you order the mild. The inside of the restaurant is really nice, the lighting is low and there's always some soft music going on and even when the restaurant is full it's never loud. I feel fancy when I go here even though it's not expensive! It's perfect for dates and special occasions. Most pad thai are either $9 or $10+ Food: every thai place seems to have a different mix of pad thai sauce. This one in particular was wonderful. Personally it was a bit sweet but adding lime helped balance the flavor. The spring rolls were fried and were vegetarian. This place is vegan/vegetarian friendly which is a plus! Service: this is why this place deserves 5 stars-- the service is outstanding. The owner made a mistake because over the phone he said I can get spring roll & a soup with my meal to go. When I got there, he sincerely apologized and went out of his way to explain his mistake (which I didn't find to be too much I didn't really mind it at all) and told me my lunch to go only comes with spring rolls.
