Downtown Griffin have limited dining options so me and a friend stopped into Bank Street cafe. Service was pretty good. Menu selection a decent variety. They served a glass of Chardonnay in a champagne flute that was odd. Salad seemed to just be mixed lettuce out of a bag. The bacon blue burger was very good along with a large portion of Brussels sprouts. My friend had steak bruschetta. Live music was a nice touch and you can sit at tables on the sidewalk. read more

POOR SERVICE and employee, Sierra so rude and disrespectful to us (2 older ladies)40 minutes into our visit, we had to seat ourselves, no menus or silverware were given to us. Employees were eating at counter and talking and never addressed us at all, we had to ask for assistance. We ended up leaving when we realized our order was deliberately being delayed by Sierra. Every word out of mouth was disrespectful. I asked for the Owner and phone number, and she told me to look it up. We paid $5.35 for our 2 ice teas and she threw the receipt at me. I ordered the buffalo cauliflower wrap and added avocado and it was legit the best vegetarian meal I've had outside of my own cooking. The buffalo cauliflower tasted like chicken cutlet, truly phenomenal. My partner ordered the pimento bbq chicken wrap and he too was happily impressed. I had such a great time having lunch at this one-of-a-kind place. It's by far the most gorgeous place in downtown Griffin. I was so impressed walking inside and seeing the murals and artwork. The colors were so vibrant that the murals looked like they were coming to life. I asked the hostess if I could go upstairs to look around, and she said, "Of course." She also told me they have live music nights on the second floor, too. I finally came back down and ordered the Black and Blue Burger, which has the best crumbled blue cheese on top as well as onion rings on top with a side of Brussels sprouts. We also ordered the Turkey Wrap, which was a spinach wrap filled with oven-roasted turkey, bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce, and Cajun aioli. Now who thought of that! It was so good, as was my juicy burger and Brussels sprouts. So, we decided to split our lunch in half, sharing half with each other. Plus, the portions are so huge that it's easy to share. We stopped here while visiting Griffin. It's one of the few dog-friendly places in Griffin. It's located downtown Griffin. We sat outside w/ our dogs. My wife had the grilled chicken Brie sandwich...I had the pimento cheese chicken panini. We both had pasta salad as a side. The food was great...that was one of the best paninis I've ever had. We were really excited to try Bank Street Cafe on a Saturday evening due to its yelp rating and a recommendation from a local. Unfortunately our experience was not great. It took 55 minutes for our food to arrive from the time we ordered. The manager eventually came over and talked to us after 45 minutes but only after we addressed the wait with our server. The manager apologized and gave us a discount. We ordered three burgers medium well and the veggie pasta. The burgers came out well done without the remoulade sauce described in the menu, although the flavor of the burgers was tasty. The veggie pasta tasted like it was literally olive oil, pasta, spinach and tomatoes and my husband remarked he could have made a better pasta. We came in with two children under 2 and had to hold them in our laps for the first 30 minutes because they did not have enough highchairs. Somewhere along the way our server changed and although our second server and hostess were very friendly it was not enough to ever want to return to Bank Street Cafe. read more

Excellent. Bank Street is a very laid back little place in downtown Griffin. My daughter and I enjoyed our evening starting with a bottle (don't judge - it was mommy and Mimi's night out!) of Entwine Pinot Grigio (mellow and easy on the palate) and the pimento cheese egg rolls. No worries if you don't like pimento cheese (me)...they taste nothing like it. Chicken and spicy melty-cheese fried goodness is what you get. (We ate them too fast to get a pic). The main courses consisted of the turkey wrap, which was just okay, and a side of pasta salad, which was made perfectly and very tasty. My daughter had the cheeseburger, cooked as ordered and enjoyed with fries. The perfect ending to the evening was the out-of-this-world amaretto cheesecake, which we took to-go, but couldn't resist a bite or two at the table with a dollop of whipped cream. All of this for a very easy on the wallet $60. Service was helpful and observant, with friendly chatter and refilling of our wine glasses and water when needed. Selected this place based on yelp reviews. I was not misled. This is an above average restaurant, in the small downtown of small Griffin. In a larger city, it'd be a 3 star place. Very casual and very friendly staff and management. However, the food was just average. A starter of panko battered stuffed peppers was too bready, and slightly overdone. Hot sauce went well. Trout was good. Food can be rich here, though the prices are very fair and reasonable. Total for 2 including wine was $60. read more

It was a busy Friday night so a wait time was understandable. We waited about 20-30 minutes but then sat at our table for another 20 before a waitress came up to us. It wasn't her fault as they seemed pretty understaffed for the amount of customers. We had some appetizers and the buffalo chicken dip was good. The pimento cheese eggs rolls were just ok. It took quite a while to get our entrees but again, they were busy. I have never been so disappointed in a steak. I understand that a rib-eye is a more fatty cut but the picture shows how much was left on the plate. It also should have been medium and it was almost well done. I was also served a plain baked potato. Who eats a plain baked potato without even butter? I pointed it out to the waitress and she said she could bring me toppings. She brought them back but said they were out of sour cream. My daughter was served a stale wrap with her turkey wrap and my husbands chicken was so dry in his pasta he didn't finish 1/2 of it. All of these things individually aren't that big of a deal but all together it made for an extremely poor dining experience. First and last time coming here. read more

we were the only customers. The kitchen staff were playing loud aggressive head banging music. i asked if they could lower the volume and play dinner music. they did neither after 3 requests. I was told they were out of my beer order upon delivery of my fiancee bee. I ordered a different beer. upon delivery of beer I asked again about the music. they said they changed the channel. I listened to violent words I have a gun cock it and pull it. I went to the three available staff and said we're leaving because of the aggressive head banging music. one of the staff said they didn't agree to it being head banging music and it was fine with her. she insis. I paid 13.00 for the two beers one of whic wi hadnt even drank. rather than change to dinner music appropri for a nice cafe the staff preferred to play their own music as loud as they pleased. I hope the owner reads this and becomes aware his staff is running customers off. I did ask if the owner was in and they said no. I'm sure they wouldn't approv. read more

Great cafe - food with a twist! We were in town on Sunday and was happy to find brunch options here. Even my 7 year old selected the breakfast burrito and ate the whole thing! If you like pimento cheese, there are several options on the menu to satisfy you. The grits were made perfectly! read more

Five stars no doubt. Did usual Yelp search and found the cafe. It's an old building that has been beautifully remodeled. Very high, beautiful vaulted ceilings and murals on the walls. Ordered chili; which was excellent. Seasoned perfectly and tasted like scratch made. Waitress was very genuine and had sweet disposition. Restaurant was busy, not packed- which is more enjoyable than overly crowded. Worth returning too for the varied menu. !!! read more

Downtown Griffin is the place to be on Friday night! Hanging out with friends and happened upon this little gem. Let me apologize for not taking any pictures. But I will tell you that the food was presented in a very appetizing manner. We consider ourselves lucky to go on a Friday night so that we could enjoy some live music. It was a little loud... But we were sitting very close to the musician. If that's not your preference you could certainly sit in a different location. The food was nice the vibe was nice. It was just a really pleasant evening. I ordered the pecan crusted trout. The serving size was very generous and the fish perfectly prepared. Fish can be very tricky, and this fish was not overdone or underdone. It was truly perfect. The seasoning was nice too. I also have to strongly recommend the sweet potato tater tots. I might would order those for dessert they were so delicious. After dinner we strolled around downtown Griffin... A surprisingly pleasant experience. Griffin has a better night life than you would expect. Can't wait to go back! read more

Food: spinach wrap with handcut fries...it was fresh, hot and filling...if ur a bacon lover u may want to ask for more bacon(I only had one piece) in the wrap...the wrap was filling and i could not eat it all, although I wanted to. Fries are some of the best in my opinion, each time they are fresh and they are handcut....who beats that. Server: Fast, friendly and efficient. I didn't get offered ketchup, but who cares I wouldn't have used it on those yummy fries anyway. Pretty good service As for the red head(manager/supervisor maybe) in the restaurant...its ok to smile, or just look welcoming... smile and the world smiles with you...maybe...can't tell nowadays lol... Came during one of the music nights and it was not very crowded. My full party didn't arrive until like 5 minutes after me, but when the waitress asked she rolled her eyes at me. She brought the waters before the other two got there and never returned. 30 minutes later, someone else came by to replace her. After we ordered food it took another 45 minutes for the food to come. Someone at my table got $12 chicken nuggets and it came with all of five pieces with fries and the chicken was dry, which I can vouch for since I also ordered something with chicken. read more

This review is well overdue! Every time I visit Bank Street I am awash with nostalgia... So many fantastic memories with great friends happened on this balcony. Memories are still made today... The draft beer selection is fabulous and ever changing. Tonight I enjoyed the White Rascal from a small Colorado brewery. It was a crisp whit with slight floral notes. The bottled selection is expansive as well as great wines and full bar. My Caesar salad was crisp, fresh and the dressing perfect with homemade croutons. Clarence loved the chili and upgraded to a bowl. He said "Wow" several times and expressed the heat was perfect and seasoned to perfection. As I await my entree I will share that they have a great menu. We love the Peppers Stuffed with Goat Cheese on the starters but haven't honestly ever had a bad thing here. Nice variety and no fear if vegetarian as the selections are varied including a delicious ravioli stuffed with butternut squash with a browned safe butter. There are steak, seafood, sand which and burger selections as well. Not an overwhelming menu just well played! My "go-to" is the Cajun Bow Tie Pasta with Tiger Shrimp. The rich, slightly spicy sauce is so tantalizing that I crave it! I have tried to copy it but it is never as perfect resulting in a trip to Griffin to enjoy the masters. The best place to eat in Griffin hands down! I haven't been disappointed by anything on their menu. When in doubt, their pastas are amazing. Cajun chicken or tortellini. Spinach artichoke dip is awesome and jacked Mac and cheese bites are addicting. 10/10. read more

I wish I could give a separate review for service vs food. The service was great. I don't know our server's name but she was not overbearing or inattentive. 5 stars for her. I've been to Bank Street a few times for work lunches and it's never amazing. Today was the worst though. I ordered a turkey wrap without cheese and it was such a disappointment. I would be willing to venture that it had one slice of deli turkey. The rest was a sprinkling of spinach, some Mayo, and an enormous spinach wrap. Why such an enormous wrap if you only put 1 slice of turkey? Were they out of turkey? Nope. Other people ordered the same terrible item. My companion had the same item and didn't touch hers. Even a Subway sandwich would have more turkey. 3x the amount for 1/3 of the price. Go to Subway. I officially give up on this place. read more
