This is now simply a "back up" Chinese Restaurant to our #1 ["Dumpling Chinese Restaurant" - read separate review]. Their "fried rice" is YELLOW rice and they lied when they raised the price of spare ribs and the amount of ribs that were given prior. When Covid ended, they HALVED the deeper black/while plastic containers to HALF the size. We have issues sometimes with their so called "BEEF" dishes... Very disappointed in all three of our lunch meals. Chicken in garlic tasted like fish and the dumplings just awful.

Everything we ordered was bland AF!! Ordered chicken schezuan and requested extra spicy and it had absolutely no flavor. The pork lo mein was the same, no flavor. No longer ordering there so be aware. Ordered through uber eats which was a double whammy having to pay all those fees for food that sucked that bad. Especially on Xmas day. read more

I wanted to order from the lunch special so I asked for beef & broccoli I was waiting for them to ask me with what side... but she didn't say anything so I asked don't I get a side ? I told her when I go to a different Chinese restaurant when it's a lunch special I have the option to get an egg roll or soup etc. but the older lady said no not with lunch special that's all you get I was offended because it was the way she came out. On the menu it's 7.75 but then I was charged 8.30 So I ate my meal there on site in the corner is where the only table was / they brought my meal in the plastic container with no cover no tray no fortune cookie I felt like a second class citizen and on top of it all the beef had no taste and it was rubbery. I just wanted to enjoy my lunch but unfortunately there are places you go to that really don't appreciate there customers. I normally go to New east Chinese restaurant on Main Street in hackensack but today they were closed. Gave this local take out location a shot. The food was just fair. The fried rice was yellow with off putting chicken. The General Tsao chicken was very tasty but the protein was rubbery and grizzly. The vegetables in all dishes were fresh and tasty. The proteins just didn't have the correct consistencies or taste. Shrimp was over cooked and i have no clue what quality chicken is used, but it was unpleasant. I was really psyched to try the food after other good reviews. I guess I like more traditional Cantonese flavors and textures. Sorry, i have to cross this place off my list. read more

It was ok. The sauce was very thin-- so thin that they added a plastic bag since they knew it would leak. It didn't stick to the good at all- basically the consistency of soy sauce. It tasted ok a little watered down but ok. I would eat there again if I had to but definitely not a top pick! read more

This is the worst Chinese restauran, first off the woman working the front is incompetent. I ordered food for the family they act like they didn't want to give adequate soy and duck sauces, then asked for hot mustard the woman gave me attitude and to top it off never have I ever ordered Crab Rangoon and it didn't come with dipping sauce. I asked the woman for sauce and looked at me like I had five heads. I won't be ordering from them again, they claim to be upscale but it's a nasty whole in the wall of a restaurant. This take-out chinese joint is located next to Seven Eleven on Passaic St. I was a long time customer of Cathay Coast and China House, then discovered this awesome place nearby. Why did I not know? I don't know. I guess I was blind? Anyways, their shrimp with garlic sauce is sweet yet garlicky full of big chunks of shrimp and vegetables. I also enjoy their house special chow mein with crispy noodles at the bottom and seafood with mixed vegetables and white sauce on the top. Not a big fan of shrimp with curry sauce (not enough curry sauce in my opinion). When it comes to simple meal like Fried Chicken Wings over Shrimp Fried Rice, I have to give it a 10 on the portion, taste and quality. It does not get better than $5.25. Throw some hot sauce all over the fried rice, dunk the chicken over the duck sauce and BAM! And yes, their delivery guys is SUPER FAST.. he was at my door like in 10 minutes. I live in a house on the street that's located behind the strip mall where Oriental Restaurant is located. On a good day and if the wind is right, I can smell a subtle scent of fried rice. And it's heavenly. I've been ordering from here for at least 8 years. My staple is chicken wings with pork fried rice or spare ribs (with no sauce). The foods is plentiful for the price you pay. And it's delicious. They'll work with you if you want your order modified (a little of this, none of that...you get the idea). The staff are pretty nice for the most part, and the woman behind the counter knows me quite well and will make chit chat sometimes. There's a small seating area (think 3 or 4 chairs), so you can wait for your food. There's also a small table with chairs, but I'm not sure if they're for the customers since I always see the staff there. The restaurant itself is clean. I recommend this place wholeheartedly. There's nothing like getting a mani/pedi (right next door!) then ordering Chinese food. Can we say PAMPERING? :) read more

Yesterday, I ordered fried rice and chicken wings bcuz i havent eaten chinese food for a long time. While i was waiting for my order, a lady came over complaining about her food having STRANDS OF HAIR and that the chicken she ordered has shrimp taste on it and her theory was THEY DONT WASH THE PAN before cooking the next dish. I thought she was over reacting because she was really mad! To be honest, I didnt mind it at first, like I dont care because it's not me, it's not my food. That day, i have no problem with my food. Today, I ordered the same food again and guess what?! I found a strand of hair on my food! I was so disgusted, I didnt eat it! Since I remember the incident yesterday, I decided to call them to let them know and made them aware that it happened again. The chinese lady who answered the call told me to bring it there and they will replace it. Are you kidding me!? She wants me to walk in the rain again! (I went there by walking) I said no need, JUST DONT LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN! u know what she did!??? she dropped my call! what a B!! I never wrote any review to any restaurant or food place Ive been to, however, knowing that this thing happen again made me realize that I have to atleast somebody know that things like this could happen to you and frankly, this traumatizes me! Have been coming here since I was really little. Not sure if ownership has changed hands over the years but this is our favorite Chinese takeout in the area still. It's your traditional Chinese take out, but all of the food is very good. They're always accommodating when I ask for substitutions of ingredients. Prices are also reasonable. read more

This place is the best Chinese in the area hands down. Small place by 7-11. This isn't a sit and dine in place. It's an order to go or delivery place. I always come here. The shrimp eggrolls are delicious. Not thin, empty, and greasy like other places. Sweet and sour chicken is good. So is the chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce. The prices are good for the quantity you get. The lo mein and sesame noodles are a must have. Quality is okay, never had an issue. Friendly staff. Crab rangoon here is surprisingly FULL inside compared to other places where its a think empty sheet of a crunchy triangle. Very delicious. Food is prepared fast unless they're busy and weekends they're usually flooded. Keep coming back for a reason. As an avid Chinese food fan, I decided to try this place out. Service was very good, prices were REALLY cheap, much cheaper than most Chinese food places. As for the food, it was good. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars was that I wasn't a fan of the flavor they used for the General Tso's Chicken. If I had the chance, I definitely would eat here again. read more

Funny how the Chinese restaurant closest to your home is always the best. Certainly the case with Oriental Restaurant for us -- Now a weekly treat for us. Beef w. Mushrooms, Won Ton Soup, Lo Mein all good. Vegetable Fried Rice which not every place has -- excellent. Also uniique US fare like french fries & Chicken Soup. Quality of food has gone downhill. Fatty pork, bone fragments in chicken breast, gristly beef, tasteless wonton soup. I originally graded five stars. I give it two stars because the woman behind the counter is nice and accommodating. When I expressed concerns she was apologetic. This current review is based on eleven visits and fourteen different dishes. The brown rice even had uncooked kernels in it.
