Went with my friend on a Saturday night. It was freezing out so some drinks and comfort food were an order. Since it was before 9 pm they had a selection of $5.00 martinis and we both chose the Lemon Drop. The bartender made it perfectly. We decided to split the short beef grilled cheese and an order of pink vodka penne with grilled chicken. Both were excellent. I'll definitely return again to try more in their menu.

I have been a regular at this bar for at least 10 plus years. It's very laid back and the staff is very welcoming. You will often see the owner Pete making his way around to say hello and ask how everything is. I'm not sure when the transition occurred exactly but they acquired a new chef who is excellent. The menu is no longer your typical bar food. There's many options to choose from. I brought a friend in with my tonight who is gluten free and she was very pleased at how many options she had to choose from. She said it was pretty much double from what she is typically offered. We both got the penne alla vodka (here with gluten free pasta) and our other friend got the Asian stir fry. Everything was excellent. I've honestly had a better pasta dish here for $14 than I have at various other Italian restaurants where I've paid $10 more for the dish. The bar also offers a lot of weekly specials. Monday's they have sliders and 1/2 priced martinis, Tuesday's is taco night, Wednesday .50 cent wings and tenders, Thursday but one pizza get one half off, and Friday 1/2 priced apps between 4-6. As far as some other negative reviews, the staff here is not rude. This is a comfy neighborhood bar with a lot of regulars. If there's ever been a rude staff member you won't see them around for long....

The lights were constantly flickering. The music was so loud we had to yell just to hear the person sitting across from us. The plates were hotter than the food. There was no carne asada available. Located on a strip off Killingly with a decent amount of parking in the lot. Good looking spot with plenty of seating and a nice large bar. The only thing was that the entrance faced the bar directly where we sat so everytime the door swung open we got a huge gust of wind and a wave of cigarette smoke from the chain gang outside. So I'd suggest sitting further away from the entrance to avoid this. I'm not always the biggest fan of Mexican but wanted to give it a shot and I really enjoyed my experience here! I didn't get her name, but our bartender was phenomenal! She was a little spitfire - great personality and very attentive. You're started off with complementary chips and salsa - chips were a tad salty but were hearty bites, salsa was just ok. We ordered fish tacos and the pollo al gusto. The chicken was a bit on the oily side but was seasoned well and each bacon laced bite paired nicely with a crema sauce (I requested on the side). Fish tacos were very tasty and the chipotle mayo was yummm. Both came with rice, beans, lettuce and pico. We ended our meal with the fried cheesecake, good but not great - it wasn't what we were expecting. We both thought it would some sort of breaded cheesecake fried but it looked like it was in a wrapper of some kind and deep fried. I prob wouldn't get again but glad we tried it. All in all, we really enjoyed our visit, the staff was outstanding - the manager checked in on us a few times and really made us feel welcomed. We will def be back!

Lots of retro decor (think Slimer from Ghostbusters, Hulk Hogan pillow buddies, etc). The walls are lined with arcade games... bring your quarters! Whole variety of seating, from tables and chairs to circular booths, and the like. The perfect space to settle in for a bit, especially on a rainy weekend evening. We were greeted immediately and provided with a number of menus... and what a menu! Lots of comfort food options ranging from apps to entrees, and a number of sandwiches and burgers. I was vacillating between the hot dogs and a couple of the chicken sandwich's and ultimately selected the Cool Ranch Ray with grilled chicken, cheddar, bacon, and Ranch dressing. It was delicious! Unfortunately, the fries left something to be desired as they were fairly dried out and a bit tough to get down. Perhaps a bit less time in the fryer could have fixed that. Dessert was a nice cap to the meal with Nutella empanadas. Yum! PB & Jealous drink... divine. Our waiter Chris was moving and grooving... never seeming to stop for a second and always finding time to check in with us. Pretty certain he was behind the bar AND waiting tables and kept up with it all. Bravo! Fun evening, great food. Will definitely be back.

Meh Local spot right…read morenext to one of our bar favorites Mr. Bigg's. I have a question, the place is called the Chicken Coop but in theory they have very few chicken options to eat. A fried chicken sandwich with different toppings options, chicken fingers, and wings. No grilled chicken options, fried chicken on a salad (that's not a salad), and just as many burger options as chicken. Fried chicken boneless wings, which are the same as half cut chicken tenders and fried chicken sliders (which is basically a small fried chicken sandwich). As for the fried chicken sandwiches we ordered, 6 out of 10. A bit greasy and the a bun that's a bit too bready. Removed half the bun to eat. We also had wings, they were pretty good. Fried right, good sauce. Bright spot here was the service, server and bartender were very friendly and attentive. It was Friday night at 6:30 and it was slow. I think the issue here is that if you don't want a fried chicken sandwich or a burger you're gonna go elsewhere. Really need to evaluate the menu. Local business and I hope it does well, but there are things to fix here. Try it and formulate your own opinion. Thanks

I can't say enough good things about the chicken parm Tuesdays. The portion is big enough to share and the price is great - $10 for red sauce and $12 for vodka sauce (my favorite). The building is smallish and located on a corner. A small parking lot is located on busy Hartford Ave, with a building entrance on that side that leads into the first of two bar areas. A larger parking area is located around the corner on Bishop Hill Road. Another two entrances, into the 2nd bar area are accessible from this lot. Also, a huge outdoor seating area, under a tent runs along one side of this parking area. So they have lots of room to enjoy a summer evening outside. We arrived late afternoon between meal times. The bar was full except for two seats. Other than the bar, the tables and booths in this area were empty (the other bar was not staffed at this hour). We like sitting at the bar and talking with the regulars. We learn so much about the area this way. Even in our own state! The majority of our bar-mates and the bartender were very friendly and we had some lively conversations. The building itself is old and much of the original dark wood remains along with a big fireplace. The ladies room is right at the end of the bar, is small and older and everything works. Full bar, beer on tap or in cans and wine. They have a nice bar-food menu. I chose sweet potato fries as my side while my dining companion chose regular fries. Both were good, as were our sandwiches (au jus and Big bird) Good quality and tasty. The booths began to fill as we were leaving and the barkeep was also their waitress, so she has a big area to cover. The regulars are very well known to each other and the staff so if you sit at the bar you may feel like the 'odd man out'. We enjoyed our visit and plan to return to try some of their other food offerings.
