If you know me you know I love banh mi (shout out to asian bakery for the best banh mi in Providence) so when I heard lucky enough makes one I had to check it out. Lucky Enough is a cool funky neighborhood joint that feels like a cross between a dive and a sports bar. Rock n roll memorabilia adorns the walls along with quite a few TVs showing various sporting events. The drinks are decently priced and they have malort !! Now that may be a positive or a negative for you. The banh mi was excellent. Crusty bread, the way it should be and the whole package was very flavorful. I like that they use Laotian sausage in it, which is a great touch. My only gripe with lucky enough is if it's really busy and you are stuck sitting on the long table with the super giant TV behind you it can feel a little annoying. But outside of this it's a great place and I look forward to trying more items from the menu. read more

We decided to try this place after we met the server at winery and he said you should check k out the place I work at. So we took him up on his offer and the place did not disappoint. Was at the nearby casino for a show when we realized at 11pm that we hadn't eaten since 4 and we were feeling some snacks. After calling around, this place said they had a late night menu. Into a Lyft we went! Their late night menu is quite full of goodness! We settled on sharing a falafel sandwich and onion rings. The onion rings were average could have used a little salt, but the falafel was OUT OF THIS WORLD good! So flavorful and fresh. The cocktails were creative and tasty. The space was fairly small, but wasn't too loud in spite of this. Our waitress (Serena) was very attentive and noticed right away when our water glasses needed topping off. big fan. I would drive from New Hampshire two hours just for the falafel. Best I've ever had. We ended the excursion with a brownie ala mode. Also excellent. This place is amazing. It's truly a hidden gem. The place has a large bar and tables around it. Service is impeccable. For starters we had the spicy potatoes and the brussels sprouts. Both were delicious and we would get again. They homemake all of their sauces and it shows. We spilt the pulled pork sandwich which was to die for. The best pulled pork sandwich I have had out ever. We got cauliflower ends for the side and the dipping sauce was also delicious. The ambiance of this place is a relaxed bar but the food is sensational. First off- we did not walk in blindly. My husband met Art while doing a Marketplace transaction. Art and my husband started chatting and told him about his bar, Lucky Enough. We just so happen to have found ourselves with childcare for a little alone time and decided let's check out Art's place. Super modern building but a quaint feel inside. Art did a lot of the work himself. Think reclaimed barn wood bar. Love the ode's to Elvis! Two games were playing and looks like a cool spot to host a little get together as we saw two birthday parties happening. We sat at the bar. We watched Art master his bar. He was cordial and super pleasant to all patrons. He knew a lot of people by first name. I am not a drinker but he played on my taste bud interests and started me off with a tang drink. I did enjoy it. My second drink, a port wine mixed drink. It was ok but the tang was where it was at for me! My husband tried a few crafts and ended with a good ol' Guinness. My favorite part- the food! We shared the bacon, spicy potatoes and a large Deluxe steak sandwich. The bacon is DELICIOUS! Doesn't need the siracha honey sauce. Its candied bacon really. I loved everything about it. The spicy potatoes, watch out the heat is contained inside like a hot pocket! Be careful! Slice them open, let the breather and enjoy! They looked battered but aren't. Good and different app. Now the steak sandwich. Large and totally in charge! My half was a whole sandwich on it's own! Steak, tomato, that bacon, cheese and smothers with garlic aioli! Listen, I am SO happy we found this spot!!! This place is absolutely the best of the best dives I've been in since my local hometown bar closed down a few years back. We walked in on a rainy Saturday and Meg and her coworkers were just welcoming and a cool vibe. The menu is diverse, the drink menu is very delicious and well priced (actually everything is priced perfectly!) and the staff is awesome. The nachos are off the hook- get the birria meat on top and ask for the salsa verde. I literally have nothing bad to say about this place at all. I want to leave five stars but those are only reserved for out of this world and infinity type spots but I give it a 4.99999999999 and a half. So great! read more

I got dinner and drinks here with a friend recently. I love this spot. It's located in the West End of Providence. The food has a great options from salads, to wraps, and good local American cuisine. The service was very good the staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions. The ambiance is also great with lots of indoor and outdoor seating options. They offer lots of fun events on weekends as well which I think makes them stand out as a local fun restaurant. I will definitely go back there in the future read more

Definitely an interesting vibe here, but great local after work spot! Went last Friday and had a late lunch and a work meeting. Was exactly what we needed as we prepared for the next week. Fridays are great because they are open earlier otherwise the specials and the hotdog never disappoints. The service is also great always responsive and friendly. Music taste is early 90s, 92 pro fm vibes which is usually nostalgic but sometimes weird and the vibe can be masculine heavy. Wanted to try a new place (to us) in Prov. for a drink and this was the perfect place to go after the Rock n Roll Yard Sale. The bartender and some others were in a Kentucky Derby sort of mood and they had a couple mint julep specials, including one at only $7! No need for the more expensive one in my mind since the mint and other flavors kind of take over. But it was hard to pass up some of the other items on their cocktail list. This is a nice place in what is arguably one of the hipper, nicer spots in this whole city. I also suspect that it is low-key a Cubs bar, which scores it additional high marks in my book. (I don't really care about baseball that much, I just think the Cubs fandom is one of the last "great" ones. Also Ryne Sandberg was my hero when I was six. Do with this information what you will.) On the afternoon we were in, things were relatively quiet and suitably dim. We had some Chicago dogs--with sport peppers, natch--and shared an appetizer. All the food was very tasty, credible bar food. As we ate and sat, some more people began rolling in. The crowd is adults and professionals. There are quite a few interesting beers on tap as well as the usual suspects. The folks behind the bar were a little reserved, but I woulds expect them to open up a bit on repeat visits. There's a lot of vinyl on display as well, and I think they do nights where they play records, or you can ask them to play one for you or something? Haven't quite cracked the code on that yet. All in all, a really nice relaxed spot for a bite and some beers. I'll come back on a night there's a Cubs game and see if my suspicions are founded. (Let's play two!) read more

Wow. If I could give this place a hundred stars I would! Lucky Enough was our last dinner stop on Rhode Island during a weekend get away and it could not have been more fantastic. For starters the atmosphere is cool, somewhat dark, but still cozy and inviting. A sick painting of Elvis hangs by the bar, which situates itself "on the corner of sanity and madness". And if that's not cool enough, the music playing from the bar? ~vinyl~ baby Art, the owner, was such a professional. While we were dinning there was a situation with a homeless man in which Art was both considerate of the dining customers and the man, and even assisted in getting him help. As someone who works in the mental health field it was so heart warming to see someone so kind, empathetic, and understanding to someone who was struggling in crisis. Melanie, our waitress, was so sweet and knowledgeable about the menu and gave us some great recommendations. Keith, another staff member, was also very helpful, and made us feel right at home. As for the food, OH MY GOD. We had the roasted butternut squash melt, The GOAT salad, The chicken delux, and Spicy potatoes. Everything was fantastic!! Chefs kiss! As for the drinks, there was a cool selection of beers, bf had the Save the Robots IPA and I sampled two of the, Baby I'm Just Gonna Shake because they just went down too easy!!! Great local eatery with good vibes. Very accessible menu (not fussy) that's also interesting and lots of vegan options. Good variety of beers and mixed drinks. Prices are really fair. We got a cauliflower melt, a smoked pork sandwich and candied bacon. Sandwiches come with a side of chips or you can upgrade to a salad, slaw or pickles. Food is well made and the combination of ingredients and flavors is thoughtful. The cauliflower melt was very "juicy" and the pork sandwich had a nice sweetness that contrasted well with the pickled onions. The slaw was pretty good just a little under seasoned. My only complaint is they don't use real silverware here and the plastic forks/knives feel cheap and don't cut well even. read more

Cozy spot for good drinks and good food. Loved all the cocktails, especially the gin and tequila ones. They have a good selection of draft beers as well. For food, I'd recommend trying the Chicago dog. Perfect combination of flavors. Also tried the buff chicken and roast beef sandwich. Buff chicken was good, somewhat salty and spicy. The sub was like chopped up chicken breast mixed in with the ranch and American cheese, Sub roll seemed like it was toasted with a garlic fennel oil (I think). But, that shit was good!! great job with the sub! The round red balls were par boiled then toasted potatoes tossed in Buffalo sauce and crumbled with blue cheese my friend ordered it smelled and looked amazing. I didn't try it but......I did pack it home !! Actually I packed everything home But everything was amazing I still enjoyed the environment very much, very low key and intimate spot. I'm fortunate enough to live close to lucky enough so I go somewhat frequently. The staff is always kind and they have both outdoor and indoor seating in the nicer weather. I have tried several items on the menu but my favorite it probably the nachos with pulled pork and chilli. So much flavor on every chip! wanted to love this place as its in our neighborhood but the service is so unpredictable. Some days the staff is so sweet and friendly and other days nope. maybe they were having an off night? this evening we got the cold shoulder with minimal service. It wasn't busy when we there - so unsure what the deal was. At one point the bartender started clearjng our plates/silverware - i told her we were expecting one more round of wings to arrive and she snapped back with, 'well you dont need forks to eat them with do you?' and in future interactions that night - she made no effort to to smile or make eye contact when engaging with us. There was a light mist falling, and as I stumbled through Dexter Park I knew that in a minute I'd be at Lucky's, the third place. When I arrived I opened the door and felt the homey vibe. "Hey Foo," said Vito. Artie goes, " Whoa, Foo, how's it hanging?" "Not too badly, chums. How's everything here at ye good olde neighborhood tap?" I asked. "Great, now that you're here," said Vito, "What'll be?" "I'll have a Guinness and a Slane and then something off the menu." Hearing "off the menu" made Vito come over, "Off the menu, I love that, go crazy!" "Okay, I'd like some hash browns and not a Chicago dog but instead two New Jersey style rippahs ." Vito then goes, "Wow, those are great suggestions and I think they'll make good late night menu items!" "Sounds like a plan, my man!" I said. And then some guy at the bar goes, "Foo, you are the best. And by the way, did anyone ever tell you that you look kinda like Donnie Wahlberg?"
