What an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious. The wings were to die for--the perfect combination of tangy, sweet, and spicy flavors that kept us coming back for more. The Hurricane Fries were another standout. They came loaded with cheese and a special sauce that's hard to describe, but trust me, they are a must-order when you visit. The burger didn't completely wow me like the wings did, but it was still very good and worth trying. Service was good, and the views were simply incredible. Hidden away, Bar 17 Bistro is a rooftop bar at Universal's Aventura Hotel in Orlando, Florida. Luckily, I had some friends that knew about this. It was definitely worth the trip. There is a 360 panoramic view and if you're a tourist, probably something cool to see for locals maybe we don't care so much about local traffic and the tops of surrounding hotels. Haha It's definitely a nice ambience though and they have lots of seating and places for lounging. I can see this being a romantic spot, depending on where you position yourself or a cool place to bring the family to give the kids something to look at. It has a modern aesthetic but I wouldn't call it a premium spot. The server was really nice and I really appreciated that the manager came and turned on the heating lamps because it was a little bit cool with the wind. My friends and I decided to do a family style meal, we ordered a medley of dishes, and I didn't realize the place was Korean themed. You wouldn't have guessed based off of anything there. We got the Bibimbap and they were nice enough to substitute the beef for chicken. We also got the side of noodles, seasonal veggies, which were zucchini and squash, and the brussels sprouts. My favorite was definitely the brussels sprouts they were cooked to perfection and were labeled as Matcha flavored even though I didn't fully taste that flavor profile. Our entire meal was around $60 but we would definitely ate on the lighter side since we only shared three small dishes and one entrée. I thought it would be more food, but it was definitely enough for a light meal. Pro tip ask for some of the spicy sauce on the side it added a really good kick to our meal! Dig in! read more

I especially loved it at night listening to the live music & watching the fireworks from afar while sipping on a beautifully blended lavender cocktail that Barbie made! Aventura is our favorite hotel when we travel to the Orlando area. One of the things that draws us back over and over is the Bar 17 Bistro on the rooftop of the hotel. The views are outstanding. It is especially lovely at night when the parks are all lit up! The service at Bar 17 is always phenomenal regardless of if it is a slow afternoon or busy night. We are always impressed by the care and attention we recieve. The drink menu is expansive (try a cocktail) and the food is delicious. This time we did a sampler platter that was amazing! The food is satisfactory, nothing to complain about but also nothing that wows. For a more fulfilling meal get the ribs, it comes with rice! We were staying at this hotel for a couple of days so it was convenient to eat at! The restaurant is located on the top of the hotel 17th floor. There is a express elevator that goes straight from the fresh floor to the top which is very convenient. You seat yourself. There's a beautiful view being it's on the top of the hotel in the day. The weather is nice in the evening gets a little bit of chill a light jacket would be good. The service is OK. We ate there twice this week. The first night, the waitress forgot about our food so we waited maybe an hour. The flavors to the food was savory that I'm from Hawaii. I love Japanese food.. There is a spicy to the food which is not too hot, but bareable spice. My second visit the food came out in a reasonable time about 20 minutes that the flavor is good. The Korean fried chicken was hot & crispy! Overall, it's a four star restaurant. They do have a variety of food for kids and adult and they can enjoy the beautiful view. read more

I have been a few times and adding to - I do find the servers friendly, the view outstanding and the overall vibe relaxing and enjoyable. I was a bit disappointed by the change in menu. We went back last night to get a meal we really loved and found we no longer could order it due to menu change. The last time I went my husband and I discovered the egg noodle stir fry and added a medium rare steak. This a composite score for experience and food. If I rated on food alone, I would probably give it 3.5 stars. I ordered brussel sprouts, 3 baos, and Parmesan fries to share. The brussel sprouts were tasty! They came with a lovely sauce and were nicely cooked. The baos were only ok, nothing to write home about. We got the pork belly, braised short rib, and jackfruit. The pork belly was our favorite followed by jackfruit, and then braised short rib. To be honest, they could be more flavorful overall. I also found the jackfruit to be too sweet. Their flavors also didn't really read Asian to me. To be fair, I live in Southern California where we have delicious authentic cuisine from a variety of Asian countries, so I also understand I'm more particular about these flavors. I personally wouldn't order them again; I also found $18 for 3 to be quite steep. On the other hand, the fries were tasty with a very generous portion! I enjoyed the creamy dipping sauce that came with them. I would get them again. The only thing that would make them better is if they had garlic (and/or truffle oil) on them. I also loved the ambiance! It is up on the 17th floor of Aventura and has awesome views (especially of Volcano Bay). If you time it right, you can also see the fireworks at Walt Disney World in the distance. The service was also good; the server was friendly though it did take a bit for the food to come out. Fast and clean area! Second time I visited was the night after and I was still in love if not more! They had a one man band playing up beat happy music, he was great on his guitar! He even took my song request! I ordered the chicken wings app and soul train drink! Wings were so good I could have ordered another bc it was so juicy not too spicy and crispy but I had dinner right before and just needed a snack. I did however order two soul trains! So yummy! I have visited a couple times over the past two years and it seems to be a good stop for a quick bite or a drink. Aventura's rooftop bar offers some sweeping panoramic views from which you can see just about every Central Florida attraction. I encourage you to bring your camera. Being a rooftop bar, it can get very windy up there - you've been warned. It seems that over time they have cut down the menu a bit, so you may find that some favorites from your last visit are no longer available (where did those amazing mushrooms go)!? Drinks are pretty fantastic, but they come at vacation prices, so you might not want to hang out here all night. Service is prompt and mostly affable. The bar is pretty quiet during the day, but the crowd tends to pick up later. I have never needed reservations here and they appear to always have open seats. This place is pretty informal and you will likely find yourself in a low-to-the-ground beanbag-esque chair. You should probably avoid that cute cocktail address unless you can pony up to the bar. read more

There are also plenty of tables throughout the entire rooftop. The menu options appear to rotate here, so be be prepared to order a different item if you see something for a previous picture that is no longer available. This is all about ambiance. I'm a big fan of Aventura resort, and this is literally the tops, as it's the rooftop bistro! The sights are really awesome, as you have a 360 degree view of the surrounding parks and skyline of the Orlando area. The food is ok, and the service is really friendly. Bar 17 is a cool spot to enjoy a drink and some bites with a fun view. If you're an Orlando local like me, parking can be a bit of a challenge. When I visited, it was during a Grad Bash night at Universal and the parking garage wasn't charging for parking. My understanding is that typically you're able to get your parking validated if you spend at least $25 - which isn't hard to do at a resort bar. Make sure you ask about this because otherwise parking is close to $50. Once you arrive to the hotel, there is an express elevator up to the 17th floor. The staff is really friendly and give great recommendations. For my drink, I got the ORLANDOS & DONT'S which is Seagram's Gin, saké, lemon, cucumber, raspberry. Food, I really liked the baby beet salad. Someone else in my party ordered the bao buns and they weren't great. They were close to $20 for three baos that were pretty small and dry. read more

The best part of this place were the views! Loved going here at sunset and then seeing all the surrounding fireworks go off. Drinks were good, not too strong, but still decent to sip on while chit chatting. I had a one in a melon, which was heavy on the line/melon flavor. The sunset peach was nice lol, sweet, which masked the liquor flavor. I went on a Friday evening and this place got packed! The bartenders were backed up with all the orders they were getting, so patience is key when it's busy. Their food menu looked pretty good with some interesting bites! Service was ok since there was not many servers around the seating area, but there were 4 at the bar who were not busy. There were 2 servers each covering half of the seating. The food was good - we had the crispy brussels sprouts, parmesan fries, and bao (2 beef and 1 seasonal that was chicken). All the food was hot and good, but did take a little while to come out. I also ordered the burger which was good, but nothing extraordinary. The kids snacked on all of the above as well as an order of chicken tenders and fries. The drinks were great. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day but I really regretted even checking this place out. We ended up only ordering one drink because it took about 20 minutes to be acknowledged, when a waitress practically ran up to the table beside us before they had even sat down. It took the rest of the hour we spent there trying to find our waitress again to pay so we could leave. I'm sure they're short staffed like everyone else right now so I hate to hold that against them but being friendly can go a long way. The view is about the only saving grace and unfortunately a portion of it had been blocked off for an event that no one seemed to be attending. I'm not sure I would give this place another shot when there are many other options on the Universal property to try instead. read more

Let me start by saying that i was an Aventura guest when i dined here so the seamlessness of getting to the restaurant from the hotel room might have earned that additional star. I came here on a Saturday at sunset. The view was beautiful and there were a couple open tables. Seating is bar, lounge chairs or a standard low top table. Drinks: Almost Sangria- I liked that this was made with rose. The wine and peach flavor really came through and was delicious. Orlando's & Don'ts- sweet, refreshing drink. Tasted like a liquid popsicle. I personally would like to taste more alcohol. Volcano View- now this is more stiff. The lemon gave it a more tart flavor. Food: Fried Rice- I wasn't crazy about it but it's a decent side Fingerling Potatoes- good side portion and I like the creme fraiche on it Salmon- three small pieces but so flavorful and cooked perfectly. We had a group of 7 adults come to grab drinks on a Wednesday night. A few locals with a few folks visiting from out of town. Besides a few people sitting at the bar, the bar was pretty empty. It was raining off and on all day that day, and the server suggested we move to the couches directly behind our table to give us some more elbow room and she was even kind enough to wipe the seats off for us since they were damp from the rain. We sat on the couches enjoying conversations and drinks until it started to rain and we were getting wet, so we grabbed our drinks, and moved back to our table, directly behind the couch. We had another server run over and say "hey! Y'all can't be moving tables when you feel like it! Because we have to clean up behind you!" without knowing we were only moving because of the rain. Obviously that comment didn't go well with the group, especially the locals as we all work in hospitality and I couldn't imagine speaking to a Guest that way. All we had were drinks and French fries, which we all transferred ourselves from the couches to back to the tables. The men in the group left to talk to the guy server in private, resulting in the server coming back over to the table and finally apologizing and leaving. Just incredibly rude. The bartender took our order as soon as we sat down. We ordered the rooftop burger with no mushrooms and fries. We split the meal. We both were not that hungry. We had water and one of the one of melon cocktails from the drink menu. We received our food fast! The burger was cooked to be a medium to medium well. We didn't get an option for how we wanted it cooked. The burger had good flavor. The caramelized onions had 0 flavor. The bacon was good. The bun was nothing special. The fries were crispy and tasty. Standard bar food. It appears the same kind of meat and buns are used through out universal at many restaurants. This is theme park quality food. The cocktail was ok! It had a strong lemon flavor. A few other bartenders and a manager came by to check on us during our meal. Overall, we liked the views, service was great, and we would come back for the ambiance.
