Needless to say we ordered a 1/2 lb of both brisket & beef sausage, potato salad & brisket chili & 2 unsweetened iced teas. The brisket was closer to a slow cooker pot roast than smoked brisket. The potato salad I'm pretty was Reser's potato salad from the premade section at Walmart. The brisket chili had burger meat rather than pieces of brisket but it tasted ok. The beef sausage was the best part of the meal but it was just ok. The tea was terrible & tasted old. Our waitress was lacking in customer service granted she was working the bar with maybe 2 people in the area. Will we go back probably not.

It comes with three brisket tacos (corn or flour tortillas) loaded with brisket, a couple grilled jalapeño slices, grilled onions and some cilantro. They didn't need salsa but a squeeze of lime might've been helpful. The side I chose was their house made coleslaw which was pretty tasty. I ordered their green beans with onion and bacon but a few minutes after ordering a fellow came out to tell me they were out of the beans so I settled for the slaw. I also ordered an order of their house cut, tallow fried french fries. Man, were they GOOD! As in THE BEST FRIES I'VE EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE GOOD!!! They are worth the visit all by themselves. The combo meal comes with a bottomless drink as well. The wife and I split the Combo meal, added the fries and a small side of potato salad that she wanted. We each ate one taco and about half of the sides. So we had a leftover taco, some fries and half our sides for the next day. All for like $21. The combo meal is $13.99 which is a pretty good deal in itself. The fries were like $6 and well worth the price. We will definitely be back. The brisket was everything Texas brisket should be--fork tender and so full of flavor. I added a bit of the sauce they keep on the table and it took up another notch. As an added bonus, they serve tea in quart jars. And it was strong and fresh. Service was outstanding. Everyone there was so nice. If I get back down this way, I'll definitely head back to 492.

One was brisket, pulled pork and regular sausage with a side of beans. I loved the smoke flavor of the pulled pork and all the meats were moist and juicy. The beans could use more flavor. It was supposed to be to be charro beans but was missing ingredients that could be the reason it was bland. Also ordered the strawberry lemonade and it was delicious. It is served in a large mason jar. Ambience is casual and yes it is a bit chilled inside but with this Texas heat it is understandable. I will not complain about that. The elote had pickled red onions on top and plenty of cotija cheese on top, with a lime wedge. The cornbread was not spicy but flavorful and moist. When I picked up my order, it was missing the trimmings for sausage but I walked over to the counter and let them know and they immediately made it right. We will be back to try more on the menu.
