The grilled shrimp included olive vierge, orange, and dill. Loved the salty taste to the shrimp associated with the body of water that was balanced by the olive vierge, and made sweeter by the orange. Solid dish, one of my favorite shrimp dishes. The grilled summer squash was cooked well, and I could tell based on texture and crunch. The mojo verde sauce vizcaina had some smokiness to it, but it was sweet. Favorite thing about this dish was the flavorful crust of the fish that shined through. The presentation was good with the microgreens, coriander, and onions adding color. Overall, thought this dish was good, but it didn't wow me. Dessert was AMAZING!! The dessert was a chocolate entremet (flourless biscuit, raspberry, guayaquil mousse). The guayaquil mousse uses Cacao Barry Extra-Bitter Guayaquil 64% couvetere dark chocolate. The raspberry sorbet had a tartness to it and the presentation was enhanced by the crushed up chocolate under it. It was balanced with the mousse that was sweet but not overly sweet because of the cacao. The flourless biscuit was moist, reminding of a delicious chocolate cake. Two coffee molds were placed delicately leaning on the side and on top of the dessert. There were dried raspberry pieces on the dessert as well, adding hints of tartness if you taste it by itself but subtly hidden if you taste the dessert together. Excellent dessert, my regards to the pastry chef Daniela. Best part of the menu and this is what carried the 5-star review. Parking: Complimentary Valet

Had a great experience at Bar Bludorn on Saturday night. The entire restaurant does not feel like you're in the Memorial area of Houston as soon as you walk in. It's a very classy feeling but casual at the same time. We had a reservation for 5:30pm and the wait staff was very friendly. We started off with the yellowfin tuna aguachile and a half dozen oysters. Both dishes were excellent and the aguachile had a nice zesty punch. Highly recommend. The oysters (both gulf coast and east coast) were also delicious! For the main course we had the spaghetti carbonara and the 8oz filet with a side of zucchini and shishito peppers. The carbonara was excellent and the bacon was a thicker cut that almost seemed like pieces of pork belly. The filet was good but nothing to write home about. Cooked to medium with an herby flavor. The zucchini and shishito side dish was a bit salty for my taste. Overall a great experience although the service was quite slow. The appetizers came out fairly quickly but the entrees took a long time so we were waiting for what felt like 20 minutes after we were done with our appetizers. Would come back again for another date night to try other dishes on the menu!

Came here for my friend's birthday and HRW. The aesthetics were gorgeous! I love the look and feel of the place. Our server Julio was wonderful. We told him we were celebrating a birthday and he brought us complimentary champagne. While Julio was our main server, they have people coming around constantly clearing the table or making sure our water was filled. It wasn't too much. Just the right touch of attentive service in my opinion. We both chose the HRW menu and added the lamb ribs as an additional appetizer and let me tell you! The lamb ribs were an absolute HIT! I got the shrimp app which had the heads on for an appealing look. The pork main was like a 4/5. I found it to be a bit tough. And for the dessert I got the Carlota pie which was like key lime pie. I LOVED the dessert. All in all I would come back outside of HRW to try their regular menu

Our visit to Bar Bludorn for Houston Restaurant Weeks was amazing. The service, food, and ambiance were impeccable. I absolutely loved the sea island dip, I could have taken home a pound of it if allowed. lol of our food was delicious. Perfectly balanced and presented. The Ruby slippers cocktail was delicious. I had several. Cannot wait for The Woodlands location to open so I can be a regular.

So we came here on a Sunday night for restaurant week, apparently Sundays are also happy hour, so their oysters go really quick. We really wanted the baked oysters, but only got to get the fried. The fried oysters were not my favorite. They were more batter than anything. The ravioli and salad was to die for the salad had poblano in it and avocado, so it had a hint of spice and corn. The ravioli was ricotta filled so they have four pieces and eight pieces. The eight pieces really filled me up, but every bite was so savory with the sauce.. It was a sweet sauce, and I would order that again I wanted a lychee martini, but they ran out so I got a cucumber instead. Make reservation reservations and there is complementary valet! Romantic ambience for date night or family dinners. There were plenty of families having dinner on Sunday night there. The service was great. I don't remember our girl waitresses name, but she was fabulous and explained everything to us apologize for not having the baked oysters.

I wasn't too impressed with Bar Bludorn's Houston Restaurant Weeks menu. I just ended up ordering the Parmesan risotto, but unfortunately, it was quite bland and lacked flavor. The Aperol spritz was good, though!

We went here for the first time and the restaurant was amazing along with the bar area. We had great service at the bar and then was walked to our table. The food was delicious with a normal size portion .We had a couple of their cocktails and for dinner the wagyu burger and branzino fish. If you're looking for a great place for a date night or girls celebration this is definitely the place you need to check out. Reservations definitely recommended. Business casual not too fancy.

Negative. Pro tip and positive stance Negative: I didn't like that the only parking option was valet. Although complementary I didn't have any cash with me so I parked on the street. Minor bump - I had the burger with fries and for my taste way too salty Pro tip: Happy hour! While I no longer drink. Their top hits (food) are heavily discounted. Their wagyu burger (let's forget the salt for a second) is only $15 and really surprised me in a good way - halfway through I was full Positive aspects: I had dinner at the bar and I was served by two individuals one of them was Matthew and I didn't hear the other name but great guys!! They're super patient and gave a lot of great insight. They connect exceptionally well with their clients. Listen if you go and don't have the Martellus you're missing out 8.5/10 Will return to try the steak frites

Late night bite to eat...last minute plan. We didn't want Taco Bell, we wanted REAL food. Got lucky to score a cocktail table in the bar area. Jumping right in, we get Taylor's amazing martinis with those memorable olives. Our sever was our vibe...cool, sassy, and could keep up with our humor. We ordered the caviar. If you're not ordering the caviar, then what are you doing? The accouterments were diced beautifully and devoured gracefully. He chose the duck, I chose the crab cavatelli, both were a palette shocker from the last time we visited. The mango sauce on the duck was the proper balance needed for a rich protein, and well, the cavatelli, #2 pasta I've had in my life. After raving about dinner, we opted for the Mexican ice cream sandwich and a carajillo, don't judge, just do it. Michelin path is an understatement. Cannnot wait to come back and do it all again.

If you've ever wanted to live out your 007 fantasies without the international espionage, this is your spot. From the moment you step through the doors, the atmosphere wraps around you like a tailored tuxedo. It is a fabulous retro escape that feels less like a restaurant and more like a high-stakes scene from Casino Royale. The Vibe The decor strikes that perfect balance of mid-century glamour and modern sophistication. It's moody, elegant, and impossibly cool. Whether you're tucked into a plush booth or perched at the bar, the "James Bond" energy is palpable. The Menu * Cocktails: These are the stars of the show. They aren't just drinks; they are gorgeous works of art. Precisely balanced and served in stunning glassware, each sip feels like a luxury. * Food: The menu offers delectable southern options that go far beyond standard "bar food." Everything we ordered was seasoned to perfection and presented beautifully. The Service This is what truly sets the place apart. The staff is professional and on point every single time. They are attentive without being intrusive. Bottom Line: Whether it's for a high-end date night or a sophisticated nightcap, this is an incredible experience from start to finish. Don't miss out.

I really wanted to love this place because I have seen so many videos about it, but in all honesty it just did not wow me. The appetizers were good but nothing that really stood out. For my entree I got the spaghetti carbonara and maybe carbonara is just not for me, but it tasted very bland in my opinion. Dessert was what I was most excited about since I love chocolate. The presentation of the cake was beautiful, but the cake itself was a little dry and honestly reminded me of a microwave mug cake. Not saying it was made that way at all, but that is what it felt like and it was not worth the price which left me disappointed. The service was very good though. Our waiter was kind and attentive, especially since I cannot have pork or gelatin. He made sure nothing I ordered had those ingredients and even recommended desserts without gelatin. I really wanted to try the chocolate cake, so he said they could make it without gelatin which I appreciated. Overall the food just did not hit the spot for me. The prices are high and I expected more from the flavor. The one dish I really enjoyed was the cream spinach side which was delicious. The ambience was nice, very tavern like, but the food just did not match the hype for me unfortunately

I mean.. it's Bludorn. You really cannot go wrong with anything Aaron touches. And that's facts. We really made a night of it and started with Happy Hour. We had raw and cooked oysters that were amazing! You could have ended the night there, but of course we kept going!!! When we finished indulging in the HH we were kindly assisted to our table... Let's pause a minute and recognize every single staff member at this place. From the bougie bread service, to hostess, to waitstaff, to management... The attention to detail is insane and you will not go with wanting a thing for more than half a second here. Notably, my friend asked for club soda to remove hot sauce from his shirt (hehe) and he was offered not only club soda but a shout wipe and the manger came by to check on him.. Whattt!! The bar has been set, and I am forever changed from this experience.. Ok, ok.. The food! We had a lovely steak cooked to perfection. The best carbonara with a nice twist that really makes it stand out from the basic B carbonaras and a nice risotto to round out the meal. Really just order whatever sounds exciting to you and it will undoubtedly be great. HH -- I believe was until 6 and only in the bar area. Parking - complementary valet Overall an amazing experience with too legit food so get that resy in the bag!

We came here on a Saturday night for dinner. Though the location is a bit farther out and unassuming from the outside, it's very nice inside! Don't mistake the name - this definitely isn't bar food. Reservations are a must, and even then we were waiting for a bit and got drinks at the bar (standing room only!). We were seated soon after and our waitress made several recommendations. Drinks were great - we got a couple of cocktails. Fava hummus- 5/5 - this was amazing! Unique spin on hummus with the halloumi cheese and it comes with tasty bread and veggies to dip. This unfortunately filled us quite up, so watch out for that bread! Hamachi tostada - 4/5 - it's just one tostada, so a bit harder to share. But tasty nonetheless! Spaghetti carbonara - 5/5 - my wife was a fan! Scallops - 2/5 - this was not good. We often get scallops when we eat out, we're big fans. But these scallops tasted like they weren't fresh and they were tiny, the succotash that was under wasn't very great either. It's kind of ridiculous for a $60 plate. Zucchini and shishito side - 5/5 - super tasty and unique as a side! It's a nice mixture with what seemed like some soy sauce. We were glad we got this - I'd definitely recommend it. We were stuffed after this and had no room for dessert unfortunately. Overall a delicious meal (except for the scallops). We'll likely be back to try more!

Steak tartare ($25) -- asked for horseradish on the side (it's strong!), potato rosti were crispy and well seasoned too

The décor, wine list, menu, comfortable seating, and cozy atmosphere make it such a special spot. They offer wines for every taste and budget, and the staff is knowledgeable when asked for recommendations. That's why this is difficult for me to write. Despite visiting frequently, I've consistently found the customer service to be unwelcoming. The service has a strange tone, and it isn't limited to one employee they all seem to share the same indifferent, slightly annoyed demeanor. The experience feels less like genuine hospitality and more like, "You're here what can I get you?" On my most recent visit, others in my group noticed and commented on the same thing without any prompting from me. Since they had never been before, it confirmed that it wasn't just my perception. One small interaction captured the overall tone. We asked whether they happened to have a birthday candle, and an employee responded in an annoyed tone by pointing to the candle on our table which, realistically, no one would put on a birthday dessert. We completely understood that they might not have one; it wasn't an unreasonable expectation or request. A simple, friendly response like, "Unfortunately, we don't, but we do have some delicious desserts," would have been perfectly fine. It wasn't the answer that bothered us. it was the way we were made to feel for asking. It may seem like a small interaction, but great hospitality is built on small moments. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting, but unfortunately, the service doesn't reflect that same feeling. People return to places where they feel welcomed and appreciated, especially in a city like Houston with so many wonderful food and wine options. I genuinely want The Library to thrive because it has everything else it needs to remain a true neighborhood favorite.
