Magnifico bar de vino. We found this amazing Italian wine bar in Memorial a few nights ago and thanks to Aaron the Sommelier . Tonight was a special Portuguese wine flight tastings with a light vino, a medium bodied wine and a port dessert vino. We choose to sit outside in their comfy chairs outside with a cool breeze . Servizio was excellent with owner Ricardo coming outside to check on us and give us his history of the cafe . He even gave us generous sampling of a Lambrusco after our discussion. We were a large group, possibly 15. Nevertheless, we still got separate checks. A 20 percent tip was automatically added. I didn't order wine. Many folks in the group ordered drinks and they seemed to enjoy them. I only ordered a Panzanella Salad. It comes with lots of croutons. I wish it came with more ricotta. We pass this place all the time and have been wanting to try it out. Last night we decided to go here for date night. It's a cute spot, perfect for a first date, meet up with friends or a quick dinner with a nice glass during the week. A versatile spot. We had a really nice bottle of red from the Russian River Valley (Sonoma, CA). We were allowed to sample and they also do flights. We also sampled several food items. They were all delicious, satisfying and paired greatly. There is also a private space for events. This place is definitely worth a visit. read more

We found this place on a whim and decided to try it out. I love the that they offer a wine flight so you can taste a bunch of different wines. The fried goat cheese balls were also delicious. I received a message via Yelp to check out the new more intimate seating as I thought the place looked sterile & ice cream shop-ish. They have added some chairs & low tables along with a huge comfy couch in the outer room. I will tell ya, this is what I like. A place to sit with a couple of gals, share a glass or two & kick back. Really love the additions! Met up with a couple gals for a quick bottle (that turned into 2) to catch up. We sat on some chairs that were gathered around wine crates as the table. Chairs were comfy & everything was in arms reach, so yeah - intimate. The service was impeccable as usual with a wonderful selection of wines & beers. Excited to finally be back here. Sat at the bar and was helped by Ricardo. We got the opportunity to try sparkling and white wine flights. All were amazing! The cheese board was great too! I love the nice, light bright atmosphere where I've meet friends (and we could actually see the expressions on each their faces) as we engaged in interesting conversation all while we indulged in some great wines. The wines are really nice quality with intense, complex flavors that are fun to compare their similarities as well as differences to my usual chardonnay and cabernet . Ricardo really knows how to pick excellent wines from lots of countries especially lesser known areas that are really fun to experience. I feel like I'm in an another country, getting to appreciate the craftmanship of the wine makers those different countries. read more

Vin Santo has a hip industrial look that is unique for the area. The staff was very friendly and the charcuterie boards were exquisite. They had a great selection of wine. I bought six bottles of different varieties for my friends and co-workers. They all loved it, especially the Pinots. I hope to visit this place again when I'm in the area. read more

The decor and atmosphere is upscale but still inviting! This is a perfect place to come nibble on some bites and have a nice glass of wine while sitting on the patio. If you are a more serious wine drinker the staff here are very knowledgeable and they have a wide range of wines from all across the globe. This is a new wine bar (opened in January) in the Memorial area. Upon walking in, I was greeted and welcomed to sit anywhere. I was meeting a group of four teacher friends so I waited to order until they arrived. We went on a Thursday so the bar happened to have a free tasting of a couple Sicilian wines. There was also a tasting scheduled for Sunday. After enjoying the tasting, my friends and I decided to order a bottle. We sat at a high top table, but there are a couple couches and many regular tables to choose from. The vibe is pretty great on Thursday considering there was a live musician. Not sure if this is something they have every night or just on the weekends...but it's very enjoyable. The music was just the right volume as it still allowed for table conversation. The employees went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant time. We appreciated how attentive they were. Specifically Blake (our server) and Ricardo (the manager) who gave us our wine. Blake would regularly come check on us and make sure we were doing ok and Ricardo was friendly, professional, and enjoyable to talk to. Definitely would recommend this wine bar to people in the area looking for a great time with a significant other or group of friends! 5 stars read more

One small interaction captured the overall tone. We asked whether they happened to have a birthday candle, and an employee responded in an annoyed tone by pointing to the candle on our table which, realistically, no one would put on a birthday dessert. We completely understood that they might not have one; it wasn't an unreasonable expectation or request. A simple, friendly response like, "Unfortunately, we don't, but we do have some delicious desserts," would have been perfectly fine. It wasn't the answer that bothered us. it was the way we were made to feel for asking. It may seem like a small interaction, but great hospitality is built on small moments. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting, but unfortunately, the service doesn't reflect that same feeling. People return to places where they feel welcomed and appreciated, especially in a city like Houston with so many wonderful food and wine options. I genuinely want The Library to thrive because it has everything else it needs to remain a true neighborhood favorite.

We were told the music would start at 7:30 but it was more like 8 PM. Just come prepared. This is not the place to come for food.
