Overall everything was good and we had a fantastic afternoon! The only weird part was when another lady came up behind the one helping us and said "no more tasting" right in the middle of it. We'd only tasted three wines (sharing the samples), and we ended up buying bottles of those -- but my wife wanted to try something bold/rich red too. They make decent wine in a beautiful tasting room, overlooking picturesque grounds. We learned today that a new winemaker started during the pandemic; he employs a "spontaneous fermentation" process that is more natural and uses fewer sulfites. As someone who sometimes experiences headaches from sulfites, I appreciate this. We chose the red flight (see photo). They also offer a white flight, five wines for $16. The Petit Verdot (part of the tasting) and Cab Franc (extra taste) were standouts. The hubs also really liked the Beril, a blend of mostly Tannat. It's a worthwhile stop on your wine tasting adventure.

Half the joy of a professional board is the "story" knowing the origins and profiles. We were left entirely in the dark. You really get to enjoy an immersive, interactive experience on the farm. There is something for everyone, from interactive gardens and live animals. The best for a cute little DIY wine tasting. You can bring your own charcuterie platters, which is what we did to go along with our tastings. They have tasting room called the Purple Wolf Vineyard where you can purchase your portable tastings, wine, beer and slushy flights . We got the chips and onion dip to start which were yummy! Then we got a Turkey sandwich and a club sandwich. Both were delicious and stuffed full, we could only eat half. We got a coke and a Veil Brewing Co. IPA to drink. The Veil is one of the best brewing companies on the East Coast and not easy to find outside of Richmond, VA.
